Murray's Saloon & Eatery

I know it's a saloon, but after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures, I decided to take the family. It was delicious. All the kids liked it. They even devoured the cheese sticks, and I had to order another one. And they were huge. The hamburgers were juicy. The kids felt out of place at first, but as soon as the food arrived, all their worries left. I'm glad they are family-friendly.

Everything here is great. Fair prices, good food overall, usually have the burger, karaoke, drinks are well made. The owner, bartenders and staff are all cool. It does get pretty crowded on weekends. That being said be careful with the family restroom that both males and females use since it's also the female restroom (stupid California) overall a great place.

Great stop down side street in Big Bear Village. Cozy atmosphere with plenty of TV screen and several draft beer choices along with a variety of food choices from their menu. Friendly service, they even brought out a sampler (not on menu) to try. We ordered chicken nachos and chicken tuna with grilled veggies. The chicken tuna plate was pretty and tasted delicious 😋. The chicken nachos was cheesy and had a good amount covering all the chips giving every bite a good mouth full.

Best neighborhood bar in Big Bear. Good amount of draft beers and good amount of tables 'n bar seats. Atmosphere is on point and restrooms were clean. Every bartender was exceptional. Will definitely be back on our next trip. 10/10

Fun bar with amazing food. The Ahi Tuna was 5 star. The crab cakes were huge and full of crab. The calamari was the size of crab legs, breaded, and cooked perfect. Also, you have to get their bacon wrapped jalapeno cream cheese stuffed shrimp plate. Great bloody Mary's, along with 🎤 karaoke

Excellent stop for a bite. Lotsa history here and the food is very delicious. Very reasonable prices, plenty of beverage choices. Casual place for a great bite. Service was awesome as well. Parking on streets, plenty of indoor seating and at the bar. Drop in for karaoke if you are inclined.

Five stars by far. Best food in big bear. Locals love it. Tourists love it. Mike the owner will buy you a beer once in a while. The ribeye plate is worth every penny. Huge perfectly aged and grilled steak. It’s amazing. I’ll post before and after pics. Karaoke all the time. Come by! Feels like one of those bars & restaurants that never changes and you’ve been there many times even if it’s your first time.

My boyfriend and I come here every year for Christmas, new years, and our anniversary. Russ and the staff are always friendly and the ambiance is so lively and so fun. The food never disappoints! We always look forward to coming here and seeing everyone

We had really tender grill prime rib steaks with lots of grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes and two pieces are cheese breads. Prime ribs steaks are 16 oz. That’s a lot of food for one person. We ordered two plates for three people are we are very stuffed. This saloon have great food. We are not drinkers. It also has karaoke. Our waitress was very friendly and she sang couple of songs. People here are locals . Some wear sports clothes and several people came and wear cow boy hats. We love the vibes and it is a place to be when you are here in Big Bear.

Gotta be one of the best dive bars in the entire state of California! A must-visit when you’re in Big Bear. Great locals, awesome vibe, the karaoke host is a legend, as are the bartenders. Quality menu with great pub food at very reasonable prices. Always fun no matter when you go. Can’t beat Murray’s!

If you are not WHITE PLEASE SAVE YOUR TIME. We walked in, one server gave us the menu right away. However, for 25 mins nobody asked for our order and it WAS NOT BUSY AT ALL. My girlfriend, had to walk up to the bar to place our order. Sparks, the brunette lady, was ignoring us the whole time and was ON HER PHONE. Mind you that’s also another 15 mins wait. Please, if you’re going to be racist, Just save us time and put a sign outside your business. THIS IS NOT HOW CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE.

Went on a Saturday night. Fantastic atmosphere with karaoke every night - a lot of fun, and a place where everyone feels welcome, no matter your age. We'll definitely be back! The food is good, and the drinks are reasonably priced. The female bartender was particularly great, making sure nobody had to wait for their drink.

I will say the food and experience was great. However, found out they charged my tip 2x, once there and a week after. Try calling, or email. Both don't work. Therefore, have to get my bank involved. To the owner, I can't come in, I live 200 miles away. Please provide a number so I can work this out. It's impossible to reach anyone when your phone and email does not work..

It's a bar for locals. They treat people visiting pretty crappy. It seems like they rely on karaoke nights. But they cross people off the list that are not locals who think they can sink.. Im not a fan of karaoke. But to me that seems like bad business

I was in Big Bear for only 48 hours or so, and I loved Murray's so much I went there twice! A bit of a dive bar, but the very best of its kind. I had just come from another bigger nearby bar, and the difference was night and day. Murray's bartenders were so personable and fun! The food was some of the best I've ever had in a bar, and easily the best I had during my stay in the area. And the prices were exceptionally down to earth in general, but especially in a tourist spot, and even moreso at a place where bartenders pour with a heavy hand. LOVE this spot. Do yourself a favor and get some of the bacon wrapped shrimp, with a side of onion rings. I will visit this bar every time I'm in the area, without question.

Holy hell, this place is exactly what I want in a dive bar — and it's made all the better by being actually reasonably priced in a very expensive area.

I recently came to Big Bear Lake for a joint bachelor-bachelorette party, and we came to Murray's both nights of the weekend trip. Was it because there was barely anywhere else to go in town? Perhaps — BUT ALSO. This place has it all. Cheap drinks, local folks, hot bartenders, a lot of lively clientele, and KARAOKE. How can you go wrong?

I do wish they were open a little later, but we were able to fit a lot of fun into just a few hours, as the bar closed at 11:30 on both Friday and Saturday.

Definitely worth your time the next time you're in town, friends!

Came here 2 nights in row for some Big Bear night caps, one of the latest places open for a drink. Good vibes and drinks. Have beer on top and a full bar. Tuesday they did karaoke night that was fun!

Great food and drinks. Our favorite is the ribeye which comes with amazing cheese toast. Not a fan of the veggies which are mostly bell pepper and onions. And the music is way too loud.

For a local dive bar they have great food I had the pastrami and my wife had the beef dip. They were both the best I've had in a long while . I'd suggest you sit in the back patio . Insides also cool but enjoy the weather and the scenery outside it is bigbear.

We just happened to stop in to play darts but ended up doing karaoke and it was so much fun!
Tim (a local) and Murray (the owner?) were so much fun singing with us that it made our night that much better! Highly recommended!

Murray's is always awesome.
Weather a mid week afternoon or weekend night, Kareoke and great service and ppl, compliment a amazingly consistent menu, that will leave you pleased with having chosen to experience it all.
Definitely my favorite spot in Big Bear 🐻 and I highly recommend visiting.

3.5 stars. Pretty classic dive bar but with good food and great service. They have karaoke machine to keep the adventurous entertained. Staff was really attentive and friendly, even during busy "apres ski" rush period. This is definitely a locals bar type of place with few of the typical tourist crowd.

Incredible food and super fast service! The portion sizes for the entree's were absolutely MAD too, like 6 FAT mozzarella sticks as well as a whole freaking pound of fried mushrooms. The main dishes were outstanding too, full of flavour and cooked to perfection.

Truly the best burger (Hawaiian) I have ever had in 50 years. Dad's Russel burger was the best he's had in his 77 years. Huge servings cooked perfectly and so flavorful. Fantastic staff, friendly customers and an Amazing meal. A++

First, phenomenal service. Better service than any "fancy" restaurant, I can tell you that for sure. Second, the drink prices and heavy pours 🤌. Not to mention the "mystery beer"; I dare you to guess what it is, it won't disappoint. Third, the food. Aside from point #2, they are known for their food. Honestly, the hotdog looked bomb after seeing it on a neighboring table but I had to go for the ribeye steak. And dang, it was good. Complete with all the works on the side. If you visit Big Bear Lake and don't visit Murray's, you did not do it right.

We came here because it said dog friendly. The owner harassed us 4 times about our dog who sat under the table and bothered no one. Mind u it’s a Frenchie so he’s small as well. Owner is rude. Outside of him. Everyone else was cool. Wouldn’t recommend

I've had truly great cheeseburgers before and truly great French fries before, but never both in the same place until I came here. If you eat here and don't order the deep fried zucchini, consider it a wasted trip.

I visited and they had karaoke on a Friday night and all the bartenders and waiter staff were hustling and good. Came in on Saturday with a few friends and we had a total different experience with the waitress that was waiting on us. We got up and left because she was ignorant to us. So my rating dropped. The food was also fair at best from the night before. I’m going to be kind here and give a 3 star because karaoke was fun.

Great place for a burger and a beer. I had the Jalapeno burger wrapped in bacon and smothered in jalapenos. Not for the timid! The meat was juicy and very tasty. Ordered onion rings and got fries, but what the heck. I'll overlook that this time! Feels like a locals hangout.

Gina was a phenomenal bartender and server. Her coworker was incredible as well (girl with the two buns). Our food was plentiful and delicious. The vibe was great. We left out just before the Superbowl started but it looks like they were gonna be great hosts. Highly recommend drinks and food here.

The food is great and prices are very reasonable, but the service is horrible. We went on a week day and it wasn't busy, they had two employees working at the time but we still waited quite awhile before having our order taken and the bartender only returned to our table to give us our bill. It's a small place quant place . My hats off to the chef!

The perfect dive bar! Orange Wit on tap is so good! Their buffalo wings with their homemade ranch is god sent, and they come with the best local grown carrots I have ever had!

UPDATE: Whiskey sour prices are great. The cheapest price I’ve paid for one. Yes those are good. The turkey club sandwich with the french fries were so good. It could definitely feed two people! Definitely one of my favorites now.

Went there around 15 years ago for Monday night football. Steelers vs ? Surprisingly it's a Steelers bar ,being from the Pitt. area ,what a shocker . Every one in the place immediately recognized the "accent" let me tell ya ,we was treated like royalty and couldn't even buy out own drinks cause everyone else was buying them for us . Met alot of great people there and of course a couple Aholes, Had a blast . A memory that will last a lifetime!

A new favorite place! Great atmosphere. Service by Courtney was awesome. Brian behind the bar was very friendly & gave us some great tips for ice cream places. The food was absolutely delicious. Best Pastrami & French Dip sandwiches we've ever had. The fries were so good I didn't even put ketchup on them! Do yourself a favor and stop by. You won't regret it!

Coming to Murray’s is like being away from your mother for like 5 years but then coming back and then she makes you your favorite meal and serves you your favorite mystery beer. There’s something so familiar and unchanging about this landmark establishment (even though they stopped serving free popcorn and peanuts) but it just fills my heart in ways that only special people can. You would never think that a little local,s favorite hole in the wall for over 4 decades now would be the best place to eat in town, but it absolutely is here and good old big bear. Tonight we had the ribeye dinner and it was over the top excellent. 16 oz ribeye smothered with mushrooms and grilled onions piled on top all the trimmings for around $24. Heck yeah ! I definitely have to say- "Get here now - You're missin everything" !!! LOL 🍽 🥩 😋

Normally this place is a fun hangout.I come up to Big Bear like once a month to enjoy the "Experience" and chill.I enjoy hanging out in the Village and like hitting the different Bars/Restaurants and shopping! I go up on Suns/Mons where there's still people up here but not too crowded.Its a bit more relaxed for me.After shopping and bouncing around I will hit Murray's for the Karaoke and food if still hungry.Their Sunday Karaoke nights are fun and entertaining and i look forward to spending the last of my Sunday there.This last weekend changed and I was not happy! They said they changed Russ' schedule due to people wanting to watch Football instead...Really?!! I was in there with a buddy I brought up to Experience the Village like I do and We were not impressed with Murray's decision there!! Not very many people there...was pretty Dead and no one was watching the football game as I observed.Not a good decision guys.not at all!!Bring back the liveliness again cuz it kinda really Sucked on Sunday...especially when looking fwd to it!!I wont bring anybody in like I used to...not good!

Nice and clean. Had the burger and fries. Definitely big enough to share. Friendly bartender and beers were nice and cold!
