Stopped by for lunch. Had a milanesa sandwich that was delicious and not oily. We sat outside with a nice view of the lake. Our server was very attentive and filled our waters even an hour after we paid. On the way out, I saw huge mule cups at the bar, they were as big as my head. They serve some mega sized drinks here!

Spend a few days up in Big Bear, I gotta say this place was awesome. nice scenery, delicious food and good vibes. I had the Cali burger and the shrimp cocktail shooters Amazing! Definitely would come back again.

If you’re looking to get married, or a venue for a large gathering I would recommend Santana Mavericks 1000%!! We just had our wedding here on the 19th. Susana, and her team outdid themselves. They took care of all of the decor, set up, food, and clean up. They completely exceeded our expectations, and made the day incredibly special for us. The views are incredible, and the atmosphere was so romantic. We had the most amazing wedding day, and I can’t thank Santana Mavericks and the staff enough. The food was incredible, and all of our friends and family had the best time.

Such a diverse menu to meet children’s needs to gluten free to fajitas to steak to ribs . The kids loved being able to go down to the lake while we waited and play inside by the pool table. The staff was so attentive! We enjoyed the large mule to share

Was looking for lunch with a view of the lake. This place was mentioned at the visitor center, so we gave it a try. Must have been a very slow day, no wait to be seated at all. Server did not state her name and had to flag her down twice to refill our drinks. We ordered the Onion Blossom, Meatball Sandwich with a side of fries, Chicken Parmesean with soup of the day and the Maverick Club sandwich with fries. The food was average, did not blow us away but gotta say that their Tomato Basil soup of the day was delicious. Encredibly thick and flavorful. The view of the lake was nice.. I presume that was why the bill was pricey.

I was looking for a nice lunch with my son with a lake view. I was surprised how few lake view restaurants there are in town.

Showed up a little after opening to get some food before getting in the road. They must not have cleaned the night before because it was still dirty. We're told to wait about 10 minutes for then to run the vacuum, we agreed, their menu seemed mad eclectic and wanted to try it. 40 minutes later, no check in, no update, and they're still vacuuming. So we left.

The place was very nice and comfy, I went there on Thanksgiving with family and friends and we got the turkey plate that they offered that day, which was very tasty although a bit pricy. The ambiance was awesome, the waiters, the music, and the natural touch of the restaurant being next to the lake made it amazing.

LOVE the new location, much less chilly on the patio being at ground level! Not quite as awesome a lake view but still a really nice one and I believe all tables inside also have a view. Much easier to get to and great parking, love the dog friendly patio! (Did not get the “dogs must stay on the ground” instruction as at the old location so I don’t know if this is still their policy or if they gave my 7 month old, 7 lb. pup a pass..?) Server was good but did disappear once for a long 15-20 mins when we needed him and the other 2 or 3 servers on the patio never looked our way.. 😕 My one food complaint that took away a star is that the dinner salad was on a plate that was way too small, and worse, it was very, very watery. So much so that it diluted the dressing into a ranch-water puddle on the bottom of the plate, could not finish it. Regardless, the 6-7 different cuisines on the menu means there is something for everyone here, it’s fun to mix and match. We will always go back here, overall Santana and Maverick’s is one of the best restaurants in Big Bear! 😊

Every seat has a lake view. Loved it.
We had a great server that night. She was kind and attentive. Checked back with us often.
The food is a very eclectic menu of Asian, French, Mexican, American, and Italian. We did like what we ordered, but a bit on the salty side. For dessert we had their tiramisu. That was a 5+.

I hesitate to post a review of this restaurant. Us locals are in love with this place. The sign by the street doesn't stand out enough, could be a reason for the limited amount of flat land guests here.
Santana and Mavericks was in a different place for years and years.
The move to this location is a great thing.
The views and environment are absolutely fabulous.
Menu is creative and delicious.
Prices are premium but worth every penny.
They are in no way overpriced.
One of the best things is the layout of building. We always feel private and personal even when they are very busy. Classy environment.

I live in big bear and this is my favorite go to restaurant. First off, bring cash 14% less if you pay with money!! I love everything on the menu. It's an awesome lakefront atmosphere. Yes, I eat at other places but I keep coming back more than anywhere else.

Service was excellent 👌🏻 Waitress was attentive and polite. Food was delicious! We had asada fries and a milanesa torta. We also had drinks! They were also very delicious. Atmosphere was peaceful and beautiful.

I also witnessed that one of the waitress brought a doggy bowl with water, for a little thirty pup without the owner having to ask.

Got a table outside with a great view of the lake. They have a gluten free menu with lots of options. I had the Carnitas (pork) Fajitas with rice and refried beans. Tasted great and no reaction. Waitress was clueless with no understanding about gluten free options when she offered me wheat tortillas. Fortunately, they also have gluten free corn tortillas.

My husband and I went to Santana & Mavericks for the first time last night……&, wow, what a meal! Louise, the manager, greeted us as we walked in and Jedith, the waitress, led us to a table with a million-dollar view of lake. After Jedith explained various items to us from the menu, I ordered the Mexican-style salmon, while my husband opted for the garlic-based salmon; both, of which, were absolutely incredible. In addition to Jedith’s great service, Louise made a point of stopping by our table to check whether we needed any extra condiments during the meal. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant, which has a wonderful ambiance, phenomenal service, and truly delicious food!

New location on the lake makes this a great spot for busy weekends in town or summer afternoons on the new lakeside patio. Came in to try for a drink at the bar but was regulated to a sit down 😕.
Same lackluster decor as the previous location, music and atmosphere needs a boost of energy. Maybe the owners are out of touch with modern dining but I will come back in summer for patio drinks. Prime location, just be more Oakside..ish.

Just wow! The food is amazing. It is expensive, but if you have two in your party, split it! The inside looks out on the lake reminiscent of the cafe at the river in Laughlin. Very attentive staff. The tastes were amazing.

Can't decide what kind of food you want? Italian, Mexican, Asian, French, American? Gluten Free or Vegan?
They serve it here! Kids menu too.
Dog friendly.
I've personally stuck with Italian, and haven't been disappointed. The Scallop and Shrimp pasta is excellent. Huge scallops and large prawns with minced clams, sauted in garlic, olive oil, mushrooms, and shallots. Topped with fresh parmesan. YUM!
Full bar and good beer list.
$15-$30 range for full dinner inc. soup or salad.

It wasn’t very busy when we went for lunch but it was Christmas Day. The food was amazing!! They give large portions, but the food is still great. The staff were really nice and helpful. I definitely recommend!!!

We went here for dinner because we were staying at a motel nearby, and it was a short walk to the restaurant. It was not busy at all for a Friday night. I got a shrimp salad, another person in my party got the salmon dinner, and another got a steak. Everyone was satisfied with their meal but not overly impressed with the quality. After I finished my meal, I took a drink of my cocktail and saw 4 dead black ants in the glass. I was thoroughly disgusted after that. I didn't visit the restroom. I usually try to do so in order to include it in my reviews.

Santana & Maverick's has been one of our favorite places to eat in Big Bear Lake. The menu is huge! They moved in July 2023 to this new lakeside location, and it is wonderful! The restaurant has plenty of room, and the view across the lake is beautiful!
They offer gluten free options, and their burgers are awesome - excellent flavor and very large!

Went for the first time. Over looks the lake. Has pool tables. Ordered Lobster. Was SO small and dry. 8 ounces. I was expecting a nice size tail like at Oakside. Basically was the same price at the two restuarants. Oakside charges $49 and this place charges $50. Won't ever order Lobster tails there again. Meatball soup was tasty. Grilled veggies were good. Waitress was very nice.

It was our favorite restaurant in town. We have eaten here many times over the years at the old location and been very pleased with the food and service, 5 stars. The new lakefront location is wonderful but the food quality and consistency has suffered tremendously. 2 of the 3 times I have recently eaten there my appetizers were cold and dry but served on a very hot plate?? The main courses were fine but not outstanding. Meats not cooked as ordered. Additionally the higher prices and smaller portions disappoint. Not sure if I want to go again....

I came up here with my girlfriend for a romantic getaway and after a full day of lake fun we wanted to do something special for dinner. We saw Santana & mavericks sign off the road and knew it was the right move! I got the ribeye and she got the chicken Marsala and we both were blown away. The steak was cooked to perfection and the Marsala wine sauce was insane. The outdoor dining patio has an epic lake view and our waiter Noel made sure we had the best experience. We got a bottle of wine that he recommended and were not disappointed!
Coming back every time we’re up at the lake!

Their location over looks the water. They offer blankets for when you're sitting on the patio area, which i have never seen before, and absolutely loved the idea, the service was fast, and the food was great!

It was a very nice view but some stuff was a bit off, the creamer they gave me for my coffee was expired, the coffee had a strange pale look and the water as you see in the photo had stuff floating in it. The food however was pretty good.

What a jewel of a restaurant! This was our first visit to this restaurant, and I can’t believe we have not tried this place out. The food was excellent, the menu was incredible, and the employees were super friendly. The topper? The view of Big Bear lake is amazing! We will definitely come back.

Last weekend, I made it a point to go and eat at this restaurant. I'd probably not have known that it existed if it were not for a group of friendly strangers who invited myself and a friend to accompany them there during an earlier ski trip. I enjoyed the experience so much, I determined that I would have to repeat it — and so we did.
What's to enjoy?
Delicious food, friendly atmosphere and an absolutely gorgeous view of Big Bear Lake. So now I encourage you:

👩🏻‍🦳The Calamari appetizer was really good😋 The service was fantastic because there was no one there it was a Monday and the day after Super Bowl🏈 but I was super happy that they were even open as some of the places were closed on a Monday's😏 and we got the best seat in the restaurant over looking Big Bear Lake 🐻

Not a great dining experience tonight. Asked for Splenda for my coffee, was told by server they only offered regular sugar. I insisted on sugar substitute and she came back 10 minutes later with Splenda.

My wife's salad consisted of a thin slice of tomatoes and One crouton! She never did ask me if I wanted a warm up on my coffee. My cup was empty for the last twenty minutes of my stay there.

Amazing food! Great staff! We were a group of 12 total and they were so kind and friendly, served us amazingly well and fast! The food was delicious, we ordered so many different plates and they were all so delicious! Applause to this restaurant at Big Bear, for sure I'd make it a go to place every time I visit there!

Holy smokes, the food was amazing! The have French, Asian and American cuisine. I can’t believe how good it was. The Asian sampler was really good and I had the burger which was juicy. I will definitely come here again.

This restaurant is AWESOME. Has a nice view of the lake and mountain hills around it. This is the second time I’ve brought my family to and honestly can’t wait to keep returning. Feels welcoming, staff is friendly and service is outstanding.

Quite douchy. Turning away customers at 7.30 pm coz they close @9?! Seriously? And we came with 2 kids . And they don't even pick up cals if we call them for info beforehand..

Terribly disappointed with our experience here. We came in with hopes that we’d have great service and at least decent food. Considering the different cuisines offered, I was skeptical that this restaurant would fall into the trap of making a large variety of foods but with mediocre skill. Unfortunately, I should have trusted my gut. Food was disappointing to say the least. Either no seasoning at all or drenched in orange sauce. All 7 of us left our plates 90% full.
What I didn’t anticipate was the ridiculous service we received from almost all the servers except one. After being seated and ordering our drinks it took 20 mins for a server to finally get us the straws we asked for twice. We ordered appetizers which were just okay and then we waited another 25 mins after asking a couple times to place our orders. After placing our order, the server came back 10 mins later to inform us that two of our orders were no longer available and we’d have to choose something else. She was very apologetic about it so we appreciated her demeanor and chose something else. Fine. Now the issue came when an hour had passed and no one had checked in on us or our food. We asked 3 different servers for updates on our table’s food to no avail. At one point we saw the servers gathered in the corner talking and staring at us? It wasn’t until my mom got visibly upset that one of the servers told us to wait a little longer for our food. The table next to us with 3 elderly women were also surprised at the horrible service we were receiving as they were Big Bear natives and had hoped we would have good experience in their city. Before they left they said they hoped we would get our food soon. That’s how long it took. When our food finally came out, only 5 of us got our food. The other 2 people only got side dishes which were cold by the time their main dishes came in. Our main server offered to re-warm the side dishes which again was appreciated but by that time, everyone lost their appetite. We didn’t eat much and everyone at the table just wanted to leave. As we got up, the two tables on our left were explicitly upset and asking where their food was. We took our bill to the front register to pay and asked to speak to the manager to share about the service. The biggest downfall of that restaurant was the manager. Unbothered, unapologetic, defensive, and rude. No wonder the service was so bad. Look at the example. She didn’t care about the service, the quality of food, or anything anyone had to say. Just wanted us to pay the bill and leave. She kept making excuses saying that the service was bad because it was the holiday season? Shouldn’t that make you want to give GOOD service? I get that maybe it’s busy but at the very least, you could be sympathetic about the service that’s lacking. There was no compassion at all. No understanding. And then she said “well we didn’t charge for gratuity” but with such horrible service, I don’t believe we should have had to pay that anyway. Even though we were speaking calmly, she stood there with her arms crossed and we asked her why it seemed like she didn’t care. One of the servers told her to “just walk away”. And she did. So we paid for our food and left. Never coming here again. I wish we had read the other reviews about the same ugly experiences. We’d have chosen another restaurant. Our main server, whose name I wish I could remember, was the only one who understood how disappointing our experience was and kept apologizing. I hope she finds a better place to work with better management. Total and utter disappointment.

Complete waste of our time and money! Our food took over an hour to come, almost like they forgot to put our order in. Never came to our table to ask for refills or give any updates on our food. Once it finally got there, we all got our plates separately, waited like 20 more mins for the rest. The food was cold and tasted unseasoned once we got it, none of us could even finish our plates. After we requested to speak with the manager, she showed no regard for our dissatisfied service and proceeded to make excuses for why our service was poor. Not once did she apologize or try to make it better. She was so defensive and kept talking over us to justify bad service. I would NOT recommend this place at all, unless you like slow service, cold food and nonchalant staff who could care less about you enjoying your meal. Only giving one star because there’s no option for zero stars.

Shared a filet mignon and New York steak shrimp scampi with my boyfriend. Absolutely love the filet mignon!! It was so tender, very good.

You pay 4% more when you pay with card and get a 10% discount when you pay cash so I recommend the latter. Luckily there is an ATM available inside as well.

It has a very wide variety of food, and interesting drinks such as the Watermelon Italian soda in my pic. It seems to be known for its nice views of the lake. It also has an outdoor which is nicely positioned for good views too. It's in the northwest corner of The Village so you can easily walk over to it while you're walking around in The Village.

We visited during our Halloween trip to the Big Bear area. Our family sat out on the patio area, which got so cold. I was grateful for the restaurant's blankets that they provide for guests. I ordered the butternut squash raviolis, which we delicious, but not even lukewarm. They must have been sitting, waiting for my sister's fajitas to come out, because those were sizzling. The salad that comes with the pasta is small and came out the same time as my meal. Other than those little hiccups, I'd give this place another try. Their club sandwich looked amazing, from what I could see at the table next to us lol.

This restaurant is awesome. All the food I have ordered I am really impressed. Calamari is A1 the best I have ever had. The Steak and Scampi is delicious wow!!!! All the food is delicious and very good quality. I will be eating at this restaurant every time I stop by big bear. View from restaurant is amazing the food is delicious and top quality. Highly recommend

OMG! The Salmon al Cilantro is delicious, sauce has a small kick to it, not really spicy, very flavorful. Chips and Salsa are also yummy, chips have a seasoning and both sauces are great. Oh and the Moscow Mule divine. I’ll be returning soon! Yum yum yum!!!

We were pleasantly surprised by our visit to this restaurant. We were looking for a place with a diverse menu to satisfy pescatarians and meat eaters. The menu is clearly diverse offering everything from nachos to classic french dishes. Everything we ordered was well prepared and beautifully presented. Don't let the laminated menus and heavy duty table covers fool you. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Portions are large and the dishes well prepared. I felt like the whole staff really care about the customers.

We are in a family trip in big bear so I checked what restaurants were open and found this one that supposed to closed at 9 pm we got there at 8 30 pm and hostess said they were already closed . Next morning we try to have breakfast they opened at 11 30 am... the hostess a white old lady was so upset 😡 overwhelmed claiming they were short in personnel ...still she gave us a table and the menus but never came back to help us....once we noticed she started attending people that arrived after us we decided to leave... ever since we walked in, the discrimination was felt , that lady's behavior was so narcissist towards my family...never in my life I'm going to the restaurant again...
