This tiny, popular eatery is known for its hefty portions of classic American breakfast fare.
Worth stopping in at least once for the experience. The pancakes are huge, bigger than plate. A very busy spot, expect to wait 15-30 minutes. It's a smaller done making the most of their space; open kitchen set- up. Quick service once you are seated. The food is good and several choices of pancakes to include gluten-free. Everyone at our table enjoyed the plates ordered.

Our experience at this place was incredible! The friendly staff and food were worth the 35-minute wait. We used the time to select our orders from the menu, and once seated, we ordered promptly. The hash browns were cooked to a perfect crisp, and the food was outstanding, making the wait well worth it. Make sure to include this place on your itinerary if you're in Big Bear!

Had a late breakfast here on our way out of town after having been up for a wedding. The staff was all super friendly and had a great vibe. The spot is small but they accommodated our party of 17 with no trouble and still had room for more customers. The food was absolutely delicious and came out super quick. You can see the chef cooking from where we sat and he was nonstop as was the rest of the staff. Portion sizes were beyond generous and everyone left very full. Would absolutely visit again if I'm up in Big Bear.

So, are you looking for a great place to eat breakfast while visiting Big Bear Lake? Well, look no further than the Grizzly Manor Café, but we warn you, you better bring an oversized appetite because the breakfast portions are enormous. Our eyes were much bigger than our stomachs and we should have simply shared a meal, especially if you order pancakes or a specialty omelet. As for the taste and quality of the meal, simply one of the best breakfast meals you will find anywhere. As for the staff, every one of them had wonderful attitudes, funny yet professional and they sure made us laugh a time or two. This is not a very big restaurant with only a limited number of tables and some counter seating but what they lack in size they make up for it in the size of their meals and the prices are great. There is plenty of free parking on the side of the restaurant and the interior of the restaurant is decorated in a way to honor many who served in the United States Military, which makes it alright in our book any day of the week. Bottom line, great staff, fantastic food with supersized portions and all at a great price and served with a friendly smile. Thank you.

Amazing food. Amazing service. Best breakfast in Big Bear Lake. Truly one of the best places for a local owned restaurant. The French toast is delicious. Over medium eggs were perfect. The breakfast burrito was enormous and made to order with the ingredients I wanted.

Delicious food without a doubt, and legit cool & friendly staff ..but I personally don't come here. It's too crowded, there are crazy long lines and wait times, full of tourists, it's just too much. But again, the breakfast here is amazing and large portions. A little pricey, overall recommend if you don't mind waiting in line.

Came as a party of 4 on the day after Christmas around 10.00 am. Waited for about 1.5h to get in, and another 30mins for our food. The portion was huge, but it wasn’t worth waiting for, as the taste is pretty mid.. I had the Portuguese sausage with scrambled eggs and hash browns (?), the eggs were good, the hash brown weren’t really crispy and the sausage was super salty. Their hot chocolate is good tho. Also, they overcharged us when we got the bill, $60 for 2 breakfast plates and 2 drinks were crazy. Fortunately I rechecked it and complained, then they changed the bill to around $40..
Wouldn’t recommend going here for hungry people as the queue is long and it’ll make you hangry..

My husband & I ordered 2 Breakfast Burritos for pick-up. (Menu Description: Breakfast Burrito-Scrambled eggs, bacon, melted cheese, and seasoned potatoes wrapped in a flour tortilla $14.25). As you can see the description doesn’t say anything about “red & green bell peppers or onions” & our burritos were full of them (I’m allergic to bell peppers & my husband is allergic to onions). What good is a menu if it isn’t accurate? This restaurant needs to be transparent with their customers and sympathetic to the families that aren’t on tight budgets due to the current economy, for most families….going out to a restaurant for a meal is rare & a good food is what they are paying for and expect. Our experience was awful & could have been 100% avoidable if the menu was accurate. Waste of money and will not be going back.

Super cozy spot. Any place that opens before all the others is definitely one that will catch my eye. Ate "The Mess" and I loved it. But while I was eating it, every other thing I saw being carried to other tables made me wish I ordered those things too. Pancakes are huge, waffles are thick. I'll be back.

More grizzly than manor. Most expensive and second worst breakfast I’ve ever had.
So not worth it. The pictures make it look nicer than it is if that is even possible. The wait was more than a hour. Freezing because they keep the place at 60 when it’s 25 degrees outside and the door keeps opening. It’s covered in stickers, it’s dirty, the vibe is ghetto. Like the town has a meth problem vibe. I had to show id to get the little puck that vibrates to let you know your table is ready. We both got the polar bear. The eggs were cooked well, the hashbrowns fried to the point of being tough and chewy and the pancake fell apart.
The best thing about this place was the adorable waitress that gave us lunch and dinner recs-that were absolutely solid.

Also the burrito comes with peppers, tomatoes and onions which is not specified on the menu nor online. The burrito itself comes with more vegetables than egg or bacon. Would not return

A must visit breakfast joint for thr best classics- eggs done any way, bacon, hash brown, biscuits and gravy, you name it. I recommend The Blob as it is a lot of food on one plate, and almost everything else is basically even MORE food (The Grizzly for example). Service was great, atmosphere was welcoming, and I will definitely be coming back in the future.

YIKES
I love a greasy spoon diner, but our food was actually inedible. Everything tasted like every scrap of burnt food that's been on their griddle for the past month. Like every bit of food had a horrific coating of carbonized grease, like when a restaurant doesn't change their oil on a fryer but this was all from a griddle top. Everything in the small space also seemed just unclean and in need of a head to toe deep sanitizing. The place is just covered in muck and the tables and seating are cheap and in need of repair.
Line was long, service was fast, but Jesus Christ, the food is BAD. I felt like an absolute idiot for falling for such a tourist trap.

One of those local must see stand-outs. Very popular, so arrive early or be prepared to wait for a while. One of the earliest-opening breakfast spots in Big Bear Lake. The interior is cramped with tables and a counter seating surrounding the kitchen in the middle of the room. All surfaces are decorated with pictures, signs, stickers, and currency with lots of notes. It is fairly noisy, but the service is good and fast and the food is good and very plentiful. We could easily split a breakfast and be very full.

If you come here hungry, read the description and seem disappointed... Just wait to receive the order. You won't be leaving hungry, that's for sure. Parking is sparse, seats are sparse, food is delicious and plentiful. In my experience, come here before 10:45 am to avoid the massive wave of waiting people. This was our second time dining at Grizzly Manor Cafe. The service was slow our toast arrived when we were almost done with our breakfast. The food was good. The restaurant is extremely over crowded. The tables are crammed together and claustrophobic. What we found unacceptable was guests that were allowed bring their two dogs into the restaurant and hide them under their table next to ours. These were not service dogs. The guests proceeded to feed the dogs from paper cups which they then placed in their table next to the commonly used items e.g. salt, pepper shakers, napkin holder, sugar dispenser. It was disgusting and a health code violation. According to the restaurant's website dogs can only be allowed on the patio, not inside the restaurant. We won't be coming back!
I'd love to hear from the owner on how dogs are legally allowed inside the restaurant when all other dog friendly eateries only allow them on the patio.

Great food & better service ♡☆♡
Both had the Chorizo scramble W☆W
Fun atmosphere n servers are so fun & have alota patience ☆
BUT ☆ what sets this place above the rest♡
I take a medication that I get from a Specialty Pharmacy & when I went to take it about an hour after I left because I had had it in my purse & my purse fell over I thought it dropped out there & so I went back to ask. omGOSH, they were SO kind, those 3 lovely ladies & busser☆☆☆☆ looked in all of the Bussing Bins, emptied the trash can & even looked at the Security footage WITH me!! 1 even took my name & phone number incase they found the medication later & said she'd pray for me☆ I was already overwhelmed that when I got outside I cried ♡☆♡
Update
Well. ... good news ☆ the medication was found, I must have wrapped the box in napkins to shield it from the sun & tucked it in plain sight because the total search of the truck & belongs 4 times didn't unveil it. ... then, DRUM ROLL. ... I set my glasses in that space n ontop of those napkins!

Great place for some breakfast and certainly a busy place. The wait to be seated was only about 35 minutes. I’d say it lives up to the other high reviews it has. Only reasoning for the atmosphere lower rating was the lack of climate control in the restaurant itself, seemed a little on the warm side indoors.

First time in the Grizzly Manor Cafe. It was excellent and huge portions. My husband who is a pretty good eater couldn’t even finish his food. The staff were amazing and very attentive. Great experience. The restaurant itself is small so be prepared to wait a little. We only waited about 15 minutes, but larger parties seem to have a 30 minute wait.

Rude hosts, very dirty floors and tables, horribly cramped inside. Food ordered by other guests was oversized for the plate and eggs were full of grease. I was blatantly ignored for being a single diner, waited for 40 minutes while a local regular was helped immediately and couples were seated despite being further down the queue. Went to Denny’s instead, had a standard breakfast without the fuss, grime, or localism. Feels like I dodged a bullet but god damn, what a waste of time for a serving of sass.

Stopped in for breakfast. Wait was about 30 min. However, they have some benches outside that are shaded, so it wasn't bad.
It's seems odd, but the most annoying thing about the wait was their front door. It slammed shut every time it was opened and closed. Think this just caused by memories of getting yelled at for letting the door slam shut when younger.
Anyways, the atmosphere was comfortable, and there were things to look at everywhere. Music was great.
Crew working was very cheerful, friendly, and fast.
Food was pretty good except for the hashbrowns they were so overcooked that I felt like I was eating canned potato sticks. They were horrible. They were not just crispy on the outside. The whole pile was crispy inside and out.

The menu is a breakfast lover's dream, with options ranging from their famously large pancakes to hearty breakfast combos that include eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon. Their French Toast breakfast is a personal favorite of mine—perfectly cooked, dusted with powdered sugar, and simply delicious.
