Their food was really mediocre and we waited 1 hour to get our food. They said themselves that the potatoes were going to be bad when we tried to order. I would avoid this place.

Super kid friendly. Loved our waitress. We got our food fast. Loooved the wings with sauce on the side, Brussel sprouts and bacon were phenomenal and we had a massive chicken Asian salad. Overall we were super surprised how great our experience has been food wise in Big Bear with tropicali, here and the German deli. My wife tried a blonde ale and I tried a cider both great! I rarely drink but this cider was fresh and crisp! Perfectly sweet/light for me

Conveniently located in the Village, this brewery has a pretty good selection of brews for everyones palate not to mention an even bigger food menu. The mac and cheese burger easily meets your caloric intake for the day (and then some!) and is quite tasty! I felt like the $20 for a burger was quite steep but as you can tell, the portions are enormous! They have a great selection of cans to go as well!

Server and employees were great. Owners are too worried about filming themselves and ignore patrons not friendly at all. Will not return due to owners attitude as if too good to be friendly. Food was good beer selection was ok they were out of 3 of the beers we wanted to try, guess we will never try those. Go to fire rock awesome vibe way better food and friendly staff 5 stars.

Waited over an hour and a half for food today. Ended up having it bagged to go. Missed half of our night and it wasn t even worth it. If you go here only get drinks at the bar. The waitress did not check if we wanted refills or to tell us why our food was not done. Also it was not busy the upstairs and half the tables were not used so there was no excuse, as a waitress I could not believe how bad it was. Don t do it! Walk to different restaurant even if you have to wait.

This place has bad reviews around customer service, and I can see why, but it s not as bad as you would think. The food was actually decent and the store itself was nice, clean and entertaining. They have TVs with sports on and have a range of beer, wine and cocktails. The wine and cocktails weren t that great. The customer service could be improved on and it s not that difficult to fix. We checked in and was told there was a 30 minute wait and we waited and we re finally seated. They ended up finding us a couple of tables, but it took a long time for a waitress to show up. Knowing this, we placed our food order together and while there was about a 30 minute wait, we noticed our food was ready and sitting on the counter, but no one was bringing it out. After a couple of attempts to get our food, someone finally brought it over. For the most part, the food was good, although the chicken in the chicken sandwich was tiny! The pizza and the pesto pasta was just OK also. This place is pretty good, but could be so much better with a little work. Huge potential.

The beer was not good. It tasted like it was infected, like diecetyl or just like poor choices for hop or flavor profiles. Who puts pineapple characteristics in an Amber ale?? Yuck. If you like breweries and actually like good craft beer, steer clear. Don t bother sitting at the upstairs bar, service industry people are barking at each other left and right and asking if someone is mad they didn t restock the cooler and about how they can t do their jobs correctly, and scolding one another. That stressed out environment caused me to tell them I would be moving to a smaller table to try to enjoy my beer in peace. I got a flight so I could sample everything. Which was not worth trying. A customer was yelling from his table to another table for 20 minutes and none of the staff came over to tell him to quiet down. He was clearly drunk and over served and was annoying a lot of people upstairs. I even had to go back up to the bar and return my flight which I barely drank half of. No questions whatsoever on why I was returning it half full and closing out. I just paid and got out of there. Don t go, life is too short to drink bad beer!!!

The worst customer service experience I have ever had. Me and my friends came here for breakfast a couple days ago. We had a group of 7 and explained that 2 more were coming. Apparently that was a big problem for them, the waitress shared a look with her co worker and sounded frustrated. We were brought to a table that wasn t big enough to fit the entire group, so we asked kindly if we were able to use two tables. We were told no and weren t given any explanation apart from your whole party isn t here yet . We were confused to say the least but we didn t argue. Then a new waitress comes to get our drinks, she also for some reason has a terrible attitude towards us and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. I then kept noticing the group of waitresses staring and eyeing us, as they were obviously talking about us. At the end when we asked to split the bill the waitress made us feel like we were inconveniencing her once again. Not to mention 30 minutes after we sat down a huge group of bikers came in and took up 4-5 different tables and didn t use every seat at those tables but apparently they get a pass. Needless to say I have never felt more unwelcome In my life.

We wanted to grab dinner and walked in at 7:45pm. We asked if there was enough time to order dinner, and she said if you could order in 10 minutes. My husband picked the jalapeño burger and onion rings, and I ordered the apple pesto pizza. Our food was really good and our beers were tasty too! We were bummed that some of their beers were out. The 2nd bartender, Daniel, was knowledgeable with their beers, and he told us about Whistling Pig whiskey, which we tried.

The avocado bomb was so good. Definitely a must if you come here. Can be shared between two people. Got fish n chips, chicken pesto pasta, and chicken nuggets. The fish n chips was overcooked and only came with a few small pieces. My husband said it s the first place where he would say the fish n chips were actually disgusting. The side salad was huge which was great. But came in a super small bowl that it was difficult to mix the dressing together. The chicken pesto pasta had good pesto flavor. Nearly drowning in pesto. But only came with two small/medium sized pieces of chicken. Chicken nugs were banging and came with like 10. Definitely plenty for the babes. Took FOREVER to get the check. Atmosphere was good. Horrible place. Might I say racist ppl too? I m native and Afro Latina, never have been at a restaurant who kicked us out for our dogs. Mind you people were trying to pet our dogs and they were scared so of course they have to bark feeling that they have to guard us. A customer had the nerve to closely attack me and my husband on not paying. We didn t get any food just water. I told the wht man to sit down and mind his own business. I called him a racist and he smirked while saying I m not racist he can t even looked me in the eye while I called him out. Also we were the only POC sitting outside. Why us? We walked out and the waitress wasn t nice either. Hurtful and traumatic experience. I see reviews about some workers being racist towards coming customers. Why? We re in 2023. Set an example to the community. You are NOT welcoming. No wonder it has low reviews. Update: that was a complete lie. I did not refused to leave, I said that s okay we can leave. No food was offered and the waitress said the GM wanted us to leave cause of the dogs. She never said about the food was already made cause after the first nice waitress took our order, 5 mins after the other lady came over and said the GM gave us the option to leave. So we left. I said a customer yelled at us. We yelled at the customer not your employees. Get that straight. Then who was she? Race card is tacky? I guess you never been racially profiled. Good luck with your awful business.

They refused her order since she didnt bring her German passport. Interestingly enough, my husband who showed his US drivers license first had no problem ordering his beer! How do you have different rules for foreigners!? And all this fuzz with a 78 year old woman? Management confirmed their special passport rule, so we left and ate dinner somewhere else. Big Bear Lake Brewing Co. Do yourself a favor and skip this place! The staff is friendly, but the service SUCKS! We waited an hour for our food, it was good, but we had 2 very young kids who were hungry. Our order sat in the window for over 20 minutes even though we asked for what was ready at the time. Fries and onion rings were soggy from sitting. Ahi tuna was NOT fresh and very chewy. Then they tacked on the gratuity to the bill. If we had our choice we would have left no tip. AND make sure you have your id, you will not be served alcohol without it no matter how old you are.( This I get, but they need a Big sign when you go through the front doors). We saw people actually get up and leave... Just my opinion....

Had a great experience coming here on a Wednesday night in the summer! The food we had was delicious, the beer was good, and the cocktails were fantastic! The kids menu was minimal and didnt have Mac n cheese, which is pretty much the other thing my kids will eat. We saw they had a Mac n cheese burger on the menu and asked if there was a way to get Mac n cheese for the kids and the kitchen obliged - us and the kids were very grateful. Highly recommend the apple pesto pizza!

Review №79

I honestly am confused why they have 3.8 stars on the reviews. I really don t think that is an accurate reflection of this place. My family and I will usually avoid anything with lower than 4.2 because that usually means the restaurant is dirty and or poorly managed. We used to love going here up until 5 years ago when we moved to the Midwest, and when we ate here last week it was even better than we remembered it. Alyssa was our server and was very attentive, patient, and personable with our three young kids, even though she was also tending bar. The food was perfectly executed for everyone. We had the avocado bombshell, wings, sweet potato fries, and a few things off the kids menu. Ordered in house beers and they were great! All of the staff were super friendly and the ambience was perfect for a Sunday afternoon in Bug Bear. We will be coming back a lot now that we re back in California.

This place has gone downhill badly. Ive been coming here for years, and every time over the last few years, Ive had nothing but issues. Today, we spent 30 minutes waiting outside in the rain for a seat at the bar. The menu keeps changing, and there was nothing i wanted except a tomato basil mozzarella pizza. My girlfriend ordered a Ruben. Service was busy, so it took a while. After our food arrived, I noticed it was a pizza with a slice of tomato on it. I informed the server that there was supposed to be basil on it, and she said, Not our pizza. I told her that it says it on the menu. She goes in the back, comes back, and says oh were out. Did you want something else. As the menu keeps changing, there was nothing here I wanted anymore. So I said just take it off the bill. My girlfriend didnt want to eat alone so she took her food to go. They gave No offer to compensate in any other way. So we spent over $50 on a To go sandwich, some Brussels and 2 beers.

The menu was ok but not much to choose from if you only wanted something small & I wished they had boneless wings. But overall the place & service was good. UPDATE: Nice local brewery to go to with a good menu to select from. Any brewery that has more beers from other breweries then their own is questionable. This place is a nice location, with an ok menu, but a good bar list. The brews made in house we disappointing, but the beers from other Cali breweries made up for it. Unfortunately, this location could be a large step better if the owners/mangement put more effort into it. Attention to detail lacks. Cleanliness, organization of staff members, flow of service needs improvement. The in house beer needs an upgrade.

Unprofessional and inhuman manager working at this restaurant!!! I am not one to leave reviews but the way my family and I got treated by the Manager KAILIANN, was very inhuman and unprofessional. I had brought my small puppy with me but their health policy did not permit dogs. We understood that and I decided I would wait in the car while my family ate in the restaurant. Keep in mind, 39.32 2there was a horrible rain/snow storm going on this day, therefore traffic was horrible. We had to wait for our car to be picked up from a mile away. We were waiting at the main entrance by the door. We were not disruptive at all. Not even 10 minutes passed when a worker named KAILIANN came down the stairs shouting at us You guys cannot be here inside with the dog, you have to wait outside. I am not asking you i am telling you. We were in disbelief that she was insisting on us waiting outside in the storm although we had told her and multiple others workers that we were waiting on our ride. Kailiann insisted that we have to wait outside, disregarding the storm, and if we did not leave, she would call the police. We were not doing anything wrong by staying next to the door waiting for o ride. She proceeded to call the police while telling us that she was going to press charges because we refused on leaving HER restaurant . KEEP IN MIND, I had my family, my grandma, minors, and a pregnant woman. We truly felt embarrassed and we could not believe how cruel and inhuman Kailiann treated us. We will never come to this restaurant again. I will make sure to let my friends and other family know to never come here.

This is the first time I ve had a bad experience at this brewery been coming for years but the host short girl with glasses clearly doesn t know what she s doing had a party of 9 and they sat us somewhere with 6 seats 7 at most than we went to get a bigger table with her permission and our group was waiting for their food at the original table to carry over than she came super rude kicking us out and just walked way

I dont like leaving bad reviews but unfortunately due to the lack of the manager NOT following up after we complained, Id like to save anyone thats reading this review from making the same mistake. While the service was extremely slow (over 1+ hour) to get food the server was somewhat attentive. Thats really the only positive if you can call that one. The negative list includes everything from missing food to cold food and a complete lack of anyone really following up once we made them aware. On top of that the food was delivered at separate times throughout the meal with one of the sides being delivered 20 minutes before the food. In summary, do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to eat.

The drinks we had were good, however it took us an hour and a half to get from being seated to getting our check, and all we ordered was 1 beer, 1 cocktail, and 1 order of soft pretzels. We would ve loved to try more drinks but decided it wasn t worth the ludicrous wait.

Our group of 4 had a simple order of 1 drink each and an appetizer. The server was so unfriendly that we wondered if they didn t want our business at all. When the server disappeared for a significant amount of time and our group needed to depart, we politely asked another employee if we could have our check. This person walked away, saying over her shoulder you re gonna have to wait. We totally would have understood if she said she d find our original server, or if she explained that it was busy but she d come back. Overall it was such an unpleasant experience that we were relieved to leave.

This place never disappoints. The first time we ate there it was so good we went back the next day for more. Our next two trips to Big Bear we had to go to Big Bear Lake Brewing again. Subsequently each time we have gone we have been blown away on how good their dishes are. Their portions are very sizable so this time we shared the Reuben sandwich and it was amazing. The beer does not disappoint either I usually get the red but this time I got the blonde as it had a lower alcohol content and I had to drive back down the hill. Each time we have gone, the host, server, and bartender have always been very friendly as well. I highly recommend this place. Trust me you wont be disappointed. A+

Wonderful place for a family dinner on a weeknight. We went on a Friday night in August and the staff was attentive, kind, and cheerful. Our waitress, Megan, was a wonderful hostess and brings so much to the dining experience. Food was great too. Portions are large and we all left with leftovers for the next days lunch.

Waited for a while after being seated before we had a waitress. Ordered a Honey blonde beer and husband ordered a Red Ale. It wasnt anything great for us, tasted stale and not the flavor we were expecting? Ordered the Carne asada fries and it was room temperature, as we appreciate that it was not scalding hot, but fresh fries and Carne asada that just came off the grill would have been much better. I say if you want great beer and food, keep exploring. We dont recommend

overall everything was great - the staff, the music, the brewery itself. reminds me of Prague The Beer was pretty good. I got the Bearly Legal Honey Blonde and my husband got Ode To Winslow Chocolate Porter. The food was amazing. It is very rare to see veggies in the kids menu. Only for this fact I would give them 5 But my favorite was the Avocado Bomb. OMG! It is a real bomb of taste. I dont know the person who invented this but they should be a genius. Double the stars!!! Will come back again for sure. The only thing that I didnt like was the waiting time but its understandable...

We first tried Big Bear Brewing Company 5 years ago and was really disappointed. We decided to try it again, hoping the quality was better, but no luck. They were all out of lagers, so IPAs were the only option. The fries were over cooked, and my chicken sandwich was dry and over cooked.

After walking around The Village we stumbled upon the brewery, I m lying I ve been here before . I want to say for Octoberfest many years ago. At the time I was pretty toasted, during my visit I was sober. Lol It was a nice day out so we decided on the patio, the waitress was fast and friendly. Nice enough to give us small samples. What we got The flight Honey Blonde 3/5 light honey taste Blueberry Raspberry Blonde 5/5 Best one Mosaic Wheat 4/5 second favorite Pineapple Wheat 1/5 Did someone spill sanitizer in here? It was terrible. Porter- 3/5 it wasn t as bold as other places Citrus Wheat 3/5 didn t leave an impression Overall 3/5 Food Weekly Special- 3 way pretzel Regular, Pepperoni and cheese, Dessert style with cinnamon and sugar. I have to give kudos to the chef in finding a way to use day old pretzels. I thought we would ve gotten fresh pretzels when it came to the regular but it didn t taste that way. The pepperoni and cheese could ve been better, no flavor add Italian seasoning to the tomato sauce, the Churro style was the saver here.. 2/5 Santa Fe chicken Salad - Spicy chicken, spring mix, tomatoes, roasted corn, olives, bell peppers, black beans, avocado, cilantro, tortilla chips with lime cilantro dressing. This was delicious I would have it again. 4/5 Prosciutto Apple Pesto Pizza - Pesto, mozzarella cheese, prosciutto, apple, basil, caramelized onion, balsamic drizzle. This was also very good but such a small portion. I get it the cost of prosciutto, pesto and basil is high. 5/5 I really enjoy supporting small business after skimming through their website and reading the brewing process, I just had to share .. At Big Bear Lake Brewing Company, our brewing process combines old world traditional methods with state-of-the-art modern equipment, and utilizes only the finest raw materials obtainable. Mix all of that with our brewers history in the craft and conscientious attention to detail and you get beer that is not only delicious, but consistently delicious. WATER SOURCE The deep aquifers surrounding the Big Bear Valley, supplied by natural snow fall and rain, provide natural spring water to the town and Big Bear Lake Brewing Company with excellent naturally sourced brewing water.

Had a sidewinder beer(red ale) which was very good. We stopped in after the polar plunge for a few beers. Saw onion rings on a near by plate that looked really good. However, they only came with an entree and we had eaten at the polar plunge event. The waitress was nice enough to get us a side of onion rings which were as good as they looked. My suggestion is to add the onion rings to your appetizers.

Clearing receipts and normally wouldnt circle back on a September 2021 visit to provide a substandard review - stopped in end of September, table B4. Lots of construction - but getting past that - beer was not ice cold (read quite warm, slightly chilled) - substandard service was the zinger. Not only our server who shall remain nameless, but even engaging other staff while viewing the keg room through the glass - and during a trip to the restroom. Bottom line, seemed to be an unhappy staff and for that reason alone, 2 stars and likely wont return. The warm beer didnt help.
