Went in to your Stater Brothers this morning Labor Day weekend. Had a special request asked the butchers in your meat department if they could do a special cut for me to slice up some ribeye super thin to make philly cheese steaks. This was the best experience I have had at any grocery store. These gentlemen were so wonderful and made our day. Thank you so much to your meat department, please give these gentlemen a special thank you they were awesome. Great customer service!! 🥰

First time at Stater Bros. To be honest we love Ralph’s, but there was none. There was a Vons next door but the Stater Bros ads on Hulu just sold us. I must say - I was pleasantly surprised.

The grocery chain is very well stocked, as most should be. But their selection of ready-to-go food and bakery products are quite good. Also the discounts on wines are pretty awesome too.

The only thing I would change is to have more cashiers. There were at least 20 people in line but only 3 cashiers were open. It took about 20 mins to check out.

Other than that, no complaints. Will very likely visit soon again.

Update: 2024
It's christmas Eve, and as I had to be a part of the chaos shopping today, I realized how truly grateful I am for the familiar and friendly staff of our Big Bear Staters. I am sad they are working the holiday today so that I can make dinner happen for my family. The store is flooded with people (mostly tourists) and the always familiar staff is there on auto piolt.
Even admist the chaos the store is clean and well stocked as Kevin is sweeping and Scotty is fetching carts, and many other employees are fixing the shelves.
The managers Bill and Jodi are there with that we are used to this look in their eyes as they have been there so many years and survived many holiday rushes. The cashiers happy and smiling at a familiar face amongst the strangers. I truly love shopping here. The entire staff is amazing!

The checkout was very slow. Store was somewhat busy and the cashier was just carrying on a conversation with a customer like people were not in line . Please just invest in self checkout.

Prima supermarkt met een goed assortiment. Het is allemaal wel wat aan de duurdere kant. De winkel ziet er netjes, opgeruimd en schoon uit. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk. Voor de dagelijkse boodschappen is dit een prima supermarkt. Verwacht geen grote non food afdeling.

Almost all the staff are great at this location, They are always very kind, friendly and will always help if you have questions. A few people that always stick out to me are for starters Bill! That guy is so awesome he doesn't know a stranger. He treats everyone very politely. Another person that always sticks out to me is Peter he is a very honest and kind cashier. Need more people like him! Another person that I think is quite underrated is Ethan! That guy makes one hell of a burrito! 🌯

I've been shopping at this store for the longest time and will continue till I'm 6 feet under. I pretty much know where everything is that's on my shopping list so basically I'm straight in and out. The staff and check out employees are super friendly and you can make good conversation with them the time your groceries are being swiped. I've seen staff members get all dressed up for Saint Patrick's day, Halloween, not forgetting Christmas just to name a few, which I think is pretty down to earth people. So anyway, the fresh meat products they sell are excellent, I've never had any old or 'off' meat from them at all, the veggies are also fresh and not a blemish on the fresh fruit either. They fry their own chicken which in my opinion tastes like that chicken that was fried in Kentucky ya know!! There's huge sub sandwiches too and at a very reasonable price. I can go on for days about the great fresh food that's made by the staff on the premises especially when it comes to the cakes, omg!! I forget what it's called, but I know what it looks like and it's the bomb!! I've got to eat it in one sitting, I can't eat half of it, stick it in the fridge til later, no way, it ain't happening, I'm eating it til it's gone. The next time I'm in Stater Bro's I'm gonna get a piece of that cake and take a picture of it, if I don't eat it first, and post it so you'll know what I'm drooling over and trust me, it's well worth the price and that's for sure!!
I'm giving Stater Bro's in Big Bear a 2 thumbs-up 👍👍.

Well..... went in to purchase (2) bottles of juice on 02/18/24 at approximately 10:10pm..... couldn't enter via the south doors as they were locked (store closes at 11pm so it was still business hours)....had to walk over to the north doors (even though I parked near the south doors) to gain entry.... only (2) check stands were open when I entered into line to check out.... the lines were long.... every customer in front of me was/were bagging their purchased groceries (no courtesy clerks in sight or in the area)... with prices as high as they are, we (customers) should NOT have to bag their purchases.... how about scheduling courtesy clerks later Mr. manager.... when I went to exit the store after I paid for my items, I attempted to exit via the south doors and guess what..,. they were closed and locked (fire code violation, fire dept to be notified).... had to utilize the north doors again to exit..... get it together staters.... was a good company until Jack Brown passed away... after that, newbies came in and changed too many things and it's gone downhill .... Vons from now on for my shopping....

If you live in Big Bear or anywhere else the best place to shop is always stater bros. It's inexpensive, the deli, and the butcher you can get anything you want and everything is the freshest around. They never are out of stock for anything. I love their fresh cut fruit too and veggies and perfect. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
I used to work at a market when I was younger so it's nice that they still run things the way they used to.

Don't go on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday (shelves are empty from weekend visitors)

Stay away, if possible Friday night or Saturday night. Other than that, good prices and quality food choices. We love our local Staters!

Holy cow is this place packed! But I have to say there was not a single employee I encountered the couple of times I went that was not super friendly! I appreciate that so much! The prices are a little higher due to location. But overall I did not mind going and dealing with the crowd! Have a good selection too! Do run out of stuff occasionally to be expected with the number of people they get throughout the day!

This Stater Bros grocery store is lit!

I wish I had realized this before I left the comfort of the sprouts store down the mountains. Live and learn I guess.

We are up here are big bear on vacay. I think we looked like tourist but everyone we encountered at this Stater Bros. Treated us like we were locals. The butcher was very helpful and friendly in addition to the lady cutting up the fresh watermelons. Thank you.
