Visiting for a few days from Vegas and what a pleasant surprise to find a Vons right here in town. Conveniently located in a shopping center right on Big Bear Boulevard as you drive into down from the east side. There is plenty of free parking and the store is like any other Vons we have in Las Vegas, but with slightly higher prices. However, the store was very clean, and the layout was what we have seen in other Vons. Bottom line, it was nice to find a Vons right here in town and our Vons card works just fine here.

First time in big bear and was excited to spend my money at the local Vons , I’ve never had any issue at any Vons and I’m not one to complain , but I’m trying to purchase about $300 of groceries and the cashier was definitely rude, no manners, looked grumpy as hell, she literally tossed everything down the counter , didn’t care to ask for my membership number or anything. Bummer since there’s so many great service reviews , the store is stocked up and clean, don’t mind paying extra due to location.

Staff was doing a great job with the Christmas Eve crowd! Replenishment is an issue as they were out of many items three days later. Not a huge meat selection for having meat cutters present.

I have been shopping at the Big Bear Lake Vons for many years. The employees and management always go the extra mile to make sure my grocery needs and concerns are met. Excellent Customer Service.

A big Thank You to Christina Brian in the Bakery and Doris for helping to put together our mothers 80 birthday party cake!
They saved us on Aug 17th after driving 8 hours to meet the Family with an artistic cake that had my Mother's painting printed on it, which had fallen over. And after Christina saw the situation, with only a couple hours to spare, and having gone to several different bakeries, she took it upon herself to create another cake for us from scratch. She helped make the gathering special and my Mother loved the surprise. Talented and compassionate ladies with big smiles. Thank you again Christina and Doris!
Much respect to the management as well that okayed the project 👏 🙌 💛

I want to thank the Bakery Team for making our wedding cake , everyone was impressed and kept asking where we had our cake done because it was so good. The bakery said the cake was a little late , and they threw in some extra cupcakes but everything went on schedule! Thank you so much for making our cake - it was what I always wanted - I HIGHLY suggest Vons for your Wedding cake , and the coconut was delicious!

Put in an order online and was charged for 3 bags. Only had 3 bagged items that could have fit in a single bag; a frozen pizza, yogurt, and eggs. Does a package of yogurt really need it's own bag?

Also, tried to replace an item with something "similar" but was completely different. Tried to cancel but somehow that's not something easily done.

The employee at the store was great, Vons system needs work though.

I like it. Not crowded when we went here. Its convenient to have a Von’s nearby when you have a cabin at big bear. They have everything you’ll need.

I was overcharged $3.25 on 2.71 lbs. of red yams. I gave the cashier the PLU of the items, but he insisted on looking up the code himself. He rang me up for sweet potatoes, which look very different and insisted that the savings reflected on my receipt was for the yams-wrong! Vons needs to do a better job training their cashiers by giving them weekly produce test in order that they do not violate weight and measure laws. They can expect a visit from that department!

I’m a little torn on this one. The employees have been very kind and the store is clean and organized, however, it’s insanely expensive up here. Things I pay $2.50 down the mountain for are $5-$6 up here in Big Bear. I live up here and honestly try to do bulk shopping when I’m down the mountain because of it.

The lines tend to be very long even when there’s time to anticipate substantial amounts customers because of holidays etc, the store never has enough folks at the register and I feel so bad for the people that are up there rushing to get customers checked out.

If you’re traveling and spending your holiday here, I’d advise you do all of your shopping before you come up here.

Been shopping here 21 years. Generally very good selection of food. However, they have eliminated many items and brands I have purchased for years. Many items are constantly out of stock. Management has been changed so many times in the past few years after a GREAT manager, Ron, left.
However, they still have great customer service. The staff is better than most stores. Very friendly and helpful.

I’m tired of getting in line when there are only 2 checkers. I know that you have lots of business so why does the manager neglect the check out process. It is said all over town about how awful it is at Vons with not enough checkers. I live here the clubs that I belong to all mention it. Same thing where are the checkers. Many of us seniors don’t want to use self checkout. Could someone please advise the manager to schedule more checkers. You are not saving money by having unhappy costumers.

Heather, the supervisor, went above and beyond helping us inflate balloons for our toddlers birthday. We noted how she was doing multiple things at once but was also efficient with helping us as well.

Every last minute Thanksgiving vacation item I needed I was able to find here. Bonus being my old Vons membership was still in the system (it's free to sign up, just need a phone number) and it saved me $22 on a $177 grocery bill. Only down side, California forces them to charge you for plastic bags.

Terrible customer service. No carts were available and I was told by an employee while he stood talking to two others I could go out and get one from the lot. Checkout was a disaster. I was forced to bag my own groceries as well.

Don’t come here if you’re in a hurry.. lines are too long.. they only have like 3 registers open when they have about 16 other employees there… go to StATERS across the street they quick & usually have more than 6 registers open so you’re inN OUt in no time plus they’re variety in products is a lot better than Vons .. since I’ve made the switch I’ve been a lot happier

The only good thing about this Vons is the fireplace,& Sushi… otherwise as far as store associates go their not friendly at all .. they used to have fantastic employees who actually cared for their customers back in 2015 but you know VONS can never keep good employees it’s sad …

They rob people visiting. 20 dollars for a 24 pack of cheap water. Not enough people to handle the weekend influx. We went to cvs up the street. It was empty but had what we needed and had it cheaper.

Don't deal with Richard the 53 year old cashier if your English has a heavy accent.
Here's the story. I took a Japanese Pro Snowboarder who was invited to Bear Mountain for snowboarding. We arrived at the Vons establishment. We had a question about certain Asian type of items. We asked Jason who was working extremely hard and was very busy restocking the produce in the produce section. Jason went above and beyond trying to accommodate even found similar things that would might work since Vons didn't have what she was looking for. Jason 5 STAR customer service.

Now time to talk about leaving Vons. We got Richard a (1 star experience). We showed up with one guy already almost done and we stood there very patient how he was explaining how he graduated in 1988 the same year as his friend who earned a 1 star. How his friend lives in Florida and is retired. How his friend is 53 "cause he's the same age hahaha" that's how I know he is 53. How his friend is in great shape for his age. Very friendly. It's fine didn't bother us. It bothered me when he said rudely I don't understand her. I said she is counting out the 46 cents in change. Keep in mind I just sat there for 3-5 minutes waiting for him to finish his conversation and we had 4 items and we're paying after 30 seconds of being rung up. She was getting the 6 cents in pennies and he rudely starts grabbing the change to 46. Not the way she wanted it. Keep in mind I always greet people by their name if they have a name tag. When I leave if I know their name I say thanks and their name. So even when this gentleman Richard was being very rude. I said politely thanks Richard and no response. Either he is racist against people that don't speak English the way we do which has to be cause he was very kind to the latin kids behind us who spoke with no accent. I will be calling to make a complaint as well. I've never done that in my life. So I shall see

Very bad service, I asked for cold brew coffe without ice, they gave me half a cup of cold brew coffe, saying if it's without ice, then we give half a cup, I've always wanted it from other starbucks, they gave me a whole cup. I am disappointed.

Went to the butcher and he was super helpful and kind. Cracking jokes and all! Which is great to have when your working with customers. He seemed to know his cuts of meats. He was a older Caucasian male, hope he gets the recognition at work for him being super helpful!

Worst customer experience. It's hard enough to shop in Big Bear with it being overrun with tourists. (Hey tourists, you can shop at home and bring your own food). I wanted to use my e-gift card, but apparently, to "prevent fraud," they do not accept them scanned from a phone. Gift cards have their own unique QR code and card number. Tell me how printing it on paper or scanning it from a phone makes a difference? Not only could I not use my gift card, which is the same as CASH, I was treated incredibly rude. The cashier IMMEDIATELY had an attitude, saying she could not scan my phone and jumped up to get the manager. Who then told me about the fraud theory. No where does it say you need to print a gift card to use. It specifically says you can scan from your phone. You can't use it at self check out, online, on the app, and apparently not even in store. So tell me, how am I supposed to use this gift card?
