Ordered there for a to-go. Gentleman was very nice and welcoming. However, we did not get what we ordered.
Bone in wings turned out to be boneless
Bread sticks turned out to be bread bites. Not a bad flavor to them but not what we wanted
The pizza was just ok and the ranch for salad was very watered down.
Id say we were disappointed but they were nice.

The food was pretty good. Unfortunately there was a woman who looked to be the manager running around yelling at her employees. That is absolutely NO way to speak to a fellow human being let alone the souls you spend a good majority of your time with. What a toxic environment to have to work. While the food was pretty good, the experience was ruined by this unkind and unprofessional person.

Stopped in for lunch on a sunny Thursday. Order a picture of beer and two medium pizzas. The total came to just under $40. The service was excellent. I love this little place. The toppings were better than the ones across the street of Maggio. We will be back soon.

Grew up in big bear, while I hate this town there's some restaurants I've got fond memories of, which I like to visit on rare occasions I'm there just long enough to get something to eat. When i was a kid, this place was more family oriented, with booths that had vintage pics of big bear on the wall, a few arcade machines, candy dispensers. In 2016, I went here for the first time since I was maybe 11 years old so it had been around 10 years.

I was disappointed to find they've turned their focus more towards being a bar, which really destroyed the environment and made it uncomfortable to eat in. Worst of all, the pizza is subpar. I think next time I decide to get pizza in big bear, I'll take my business to Maggio's since I haven't been there in even longer, in hopes at least they've still upheld their quality after all these years.

Also, as a side note, any pizzeria you go to anymore, pizzas are absurdly priced, I'll willingly pay as much as 100$ at my favorite place where I live now, but Red Baron isn't high enough quality anymore to be charging "I know what I got" prices.

edit: in response to the owner; you don't have to say the recipe was changed, I can tell, that's why I left a negative review. I'm sorry, but if you believe using higher quality ingredients automatically makes food taste good, that there is why the quality of your pizza has drastically gone down hill. Any chef will tell you, you don't need high quality ingredients to make good food because a skilled cook can make good food from just about anything.

So, if you are in fact using higher quality ingredients and your pizza still taste as poor as it does, something is very wrong. All I can say is I'd go back to whatever you were doing around 2005/2006 because you didn't improve your pizzas. But frankly, even if you did, I'm sorry to say it just wouldn't be worth taking the risk of trying again when I've got too many superior pizzerias at home or even a much shorter driving distance to find one to justify it. Even then, there's multiple non-pizzeria's in big bear alone that over all just have way better food that are worth the trip.

I'm not taking any joy in what I've said in my review, I'm actually quite sad because I was hoping for the same delicious pizza I enjoyed when I was a kid and it's simply no longer the case.

this used to be the best pizza place on the mountain, the new owners absolutely ruined this big bear institution, cutting corners with cheaper ingredients and way higher prices, there is no way they ever understood what made this place so special to locals, they really should change the name because this is NOT red baron, and it is a crying shame

Idk seemed odd felt odd wile visiting . The food was good but for the price Ill try something els next time the wings where very dry . One of the girls was a bit aggressive when I tougth I was entering the store restaurant. They have a door down the hall for employees I tougth that was the entrance . A young lady aggressively approaches me made me feel stupid and pointed me to the other door . The cashier was friendly everyone els seem very busy. I got the family special but dint receive a friendly service very odd . Get on get Goin. Felt more like that. hope this helps.

This is really great pizza, and they have an amazing lunch special. The crust is light but tasty, ingredients are top notch. No complaints! We usually get delivery, by the way they are the only pizza place that delivers in Big Bear...well, not the ONLY one but the other place is a major chain named after a game :) Go with the locally owned and operated pizza place Red Baron! And trust me, the pizza is 1000% better then the frozen pizza company by the same name. 10/10! Highly recommend.

There is a lady that works at this place that refuses to take my order because I called her out for saying some really racist things to a black guy in staterbros the day before I had ever walked into this place if it was not for her Id rate it a 5 but because she has been there for so long and Im sure they have seen her spazz they are getting a 3 star rating in everything

Great food, wonderful atmosphere. Has a couple of arcade games for the kids. Wings are amazing! Also, the pastrami pizza, which sounds strange at first, it s very good. People are friendly and helpful. Parking: Plenty of parking available, usually can get something right near the entrance. I have been coming here for a long time. The pizza is really good. The crust is really good. The TVs have sports and the bar is small and cool. I would recommend. Sometimes they get really busy and they should have another server but hey what can you do?! Food is good though! Enjoy!

Light fluffy dough, the perfect cheese-to-sauce ratio, topped with tomatoes decorated with basil. The smell bursted out the delivery box upon arrival. I m visiting Big Bear for the first time this weekend, and last night for dinner I was in the mood for pizza. I didn t want to order Dominos as I truly wanted an out of town experience. I ordered a margarita pizza and was able to enjoy a small delicacy of what BB has to offer in each bite! I highly recommend Red Baron s Pizza to anyone visiting out of town, to break out of the norm and support a local business!

I m not usually this critical about food I get delivered but this was pretty bad. I ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza and it was delivered cold to the point that the cheese didn t even look melted lol. The sausage tasted like a meatball/sausage which isn t a bad thing but this pizza was awful. It was 36 dollars to have this large pizza delivered. I will say it was New Year s Eve but it was only around 5 pm.

The pizza is absolutely fire ! Like y all I got this recommended to me by a Big Bear native who has lived in the area for over a decade. They raved about the sauce and the cheese on the pizza and boy it did not disappoint!! If you are a tourist or a local Red Barons needs to be in your eating rotation. No doubt. After briefly speaking to the owner, they were fortunate enough to have authentic Italian input on the recipes. Bottom line: Get ya self a pie. Kid-friendliness: A little arcade moment in the restaurant.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Ordered a similar to Supreme pizza toppings and mozzarella sticks advertised with warm marinara . Damn - Darn (don t want to offend anyone) that marinara was warm! The mozzarella sticks were like a kiss from my East Coast Pittsburgh roots - not greasy, great ratio - I may need to live here?!? The pizza is on point. Unlike big city pizza joints that require you to pay for extra toppings - Red baron was generous in an old school, delightful way. I d brought parm and red peppers but even if I hadn t this pizza delivered. The crust you won t be disappointed!

BEWARE. Do not expect the same service that was provided by the previous owners. I have ordered pizza for delivery from the new owners on 2 occasions, and twice the service as not satisfactory. The first time the pizza was very late and the pizza was not well made. The second time the delivery person was again very late, she tried to have me sign a wrong inflated receipt for $76.00, when I opened the pizza inside the house it was not hot, and ALSO WAS NOT EVEN THE RIGHT PIZZA. She seemed to have trouble understanding me or even knowing what I had ordered. Apparently she had also misdelivered other pizzas. When I called Red Baron the owner was upset with me for complaining about receiving both the inflated wrong invoice and the wrong pizza. He never apologized but wanted to argue with me. Ultimately he promised to make the right pizza (apparently what I ordered was never made) which he said would be delivered within 30 minutes. To their credit it was delivered in about 30 minutes. I was warned by an employee of the prior owner not to expect the same service. I should have listened.

My husband and I have always loved red baron pizza but we have had a couple bad experiences with them in the last year so we quit going. I know they went through a management change so we decided to give them another chance and it seemed like things had improved so we started ordering our pizza from them again. Tonight we drove out in the snow storm to pick up our pizza, glanced at it to make sure it was the right pizza, then when we got home we realized that there was NO CHEESE on it just sauce and toppings.. I don t think we will be giving red Baron our business anymore. Just disappointing more often than not.

Terribly disorganized. We placed an order online. The wait time said 91 minutes but we were OK with waiting and decided to just hang out until it was ready. We got notified online that our order was ready a bit sooner than expected, so we drove 10 minutes to go pick it up. There was a line at the pick up counter, took about another 10 minutes to get to the front just for them to tell us it was NOT ready and they still needed the jalapeño poppers. The employee helping us seemed frazzled and confused and kept asking who was who and what we were waiting on. We waited about anotherrr 10 minutes and when we got our pizza, it was already cold. Not good. Jalapeño poppers werent hot and didnt even seem fresh either. Approx 70 min wait PLUS 30 mins extraaa wait from when THEY themselves notified us its done and ready for pick up. The older guys next to us also seemed upset with their order, and then the employee asked if they were door dash drivers when they were just regular customers. Very disorganized, and kitchen looked dirty/messy from looking along the windows on the outside and side door. (1/7/23 night)

Horrible customer service, we walked in, and no one greeted us. The to go order guy starred at us and didnt say a word. The server kept walking back and forth, staring at us, not saying a word either. I get that maybe you are short staff, but at least acknowledge your guest and say you will help us in a minute. We waited for more than 5 minutes, and the server looked us in the eye at least 3 times without making contact. The vibe as soon as you walk in feels very bad and not welcoming. We went to eat instead at Maggios across the street, and it was much better! Avoid this restaurant at all costs!!!!

Terrible experience. Waited in line patiently for 20-30min. No one mentions that they ll be right with us at all. When I finally ask if we are going to be helped with new orders. Her answer to me was it s gonna take two hours for takeout to be ready anyways. It was ok. I would ve placed the order and came back to pick it up. The system in place here is horrible. Avoid this place if possible. Maggio s or no name pizza are better options. It s sad that the reviews are filled with 1 star reviews and ownership seems to not care at all. SMH.

Hit or miss. Most of the time miss. Ordered a pizza and garlic bites and waited close to 45 minutes. When I got it, the pizza was luke warm, crust was tough and chewy , and cheese/toppings were very sparse. Garlic bites were good but much less in quantity than the previous times Ive ordered. Like I said, most of the time the quality is like this, but Ive never had to wait as long as I waited tonight. It would have been understandable if all of the food was fresh.

Heard the new owner had pizza experience which I was excited to try! Very disappointed. The toppings started 1.5 to 2 inches from the edge of the crust. Also, very stingy with the toppings, one small chunk of pineapple on a piece of Canadian bacon and pineapple: the other half was sausage and pepperoni and one piece had no sausage whatsoever. Either the owner is inexperienced or the preparers are unskilled or unsupervised. I gave it a shot, but it is a no for me.

We had an awesome experience there. Asia was so kind and went out of her way to make the kids happy by giving them extra quarters to play the arcade games. The gluten-free pizza was good. We will def be back the next time we are in town. Dietary restrictions: My sister was so glad they had a gluten-free option since she has celiac disease. Kid-friendliness: Arcade games were great to keep kids busy while we waited for our food.

Worst pizza place in big bear. There was absolutely no service when we went. We went on a holiday weekend and there was one cash register and 1 cook. The atmosphere is not welcoming or cozy. We sat for 30 minutes for just a waitress to come out so we left and ate elsewhere. Will never go back.

Terrible service, came in around 430pm and patrons were at the bar and no one was seated in the sit down area, a women at the bar told us to take a seat anywhere and some one would be with us we must of waited 10 min and no one bother to help us. A man came in and sat at the bar area ordered a pitcher of beer and one of the bar guys took it to the seating area for him and even brought a menu ro him and still didnt bother to bring us a menu. Id give no stars if I could. I heard this place changed management.

Pretty good pizza but overall a poorly run establishment. We walked in and put in an order, prepared to wait since we didn t call ahead. We ordered two pizzas and an order of cinnamon bites. We were told it would be about 25 minutes cool. We decided to wait in the restaurant and play some games in the arcade. Around 25 minutes later we started standing around the front counter again so we d hear when they called us. The guy who originally took our order saw us multiple times and didn t say anything so we figured it just wasn t done yet. We wait, we wait. Then at 40 minutes we decide to get in the (now) line of people waiting for the cashier. It felt like there was a bunch of people working but no one is coming by the counter despite the line, no one seems to know where any orders are, and repeatedly we see orders partially done and waiting on random stuff like wings, salads etc. which is just silly when those all take way less time to cook than pizzas so there s just no reason. About 10 minutes later we finally get someone s attention and find out our pizza has been in the heater by the front counter for about 20 minutes and now they re waiting on the cinnamon bites that they just put in. Brutal. No apologies, no one offered a drink while we waited, nothing. We ended up getting out of there after about an hour (after being quoted 25 minutes). We did check the pizzas before leaving just to make sure they were right. Then we got home and one pizza hadn t been sliced and the cherry on top of the already bad experience the cinnamon bites didn t have dipping icing.

Update... Weve been here before and loved it but... This visit was a big disappointment... Pizza (red Baron special) was seriously undercooked.. Onions were raw, mushrooms were room temp, cheese was partly warm and not completely melted... I know that labor is tough to find up here and maybe they were understaffed? Bottom line is that if this experience was our first, wed never come back.... On a scale of 1-10, this pizza was a 2 at best.. Frozen pizza from a box would be a better option :( We ordered the Red Baron Special and it was AMAZING! Bands down, the best pizza in Big Bear

Definitely more of a sports bar not a restaurant but friendly staff, the wings and meatball sub were good. My pizza took forever to come out though and I m pretty sure it was just a frozen pizza. Should be called Red Baron Bar, not Red Baron Pizza.

We like small business and were visiting for the weekend and thought this would be good but was proven otherwise. Ordered 2 mini pizzas with no special instructions and a salad for delivery. Prepaid the meal and tipped 20% digitally hoping to get good service. Instead it took 1 Hour and 45 Minutes to get delivered. The crusts were wrong on both pizzas. Meat lovers pizza was cold and dough under cooked and my wife didnt even want to touch her Margherita because it had enough garlic to kill a vampire. God forbid the cook has to do anything 2 hours before close. The only redeeming part was the delivery guy was cool and polite which I can appreciate.

We had Alfredo Chicken pizza and house salad. Food was amazing, you feel the freshness and taste amazing. Highly recommended

Stopped by and ordered a family pepperoni pizza last night. I waited a hour and half for the pizza. Only got my pizza after I asked for my money back. Pizza tasted like Red Baron pizza from the supermarket. What I see most on these reviews is how the restaurant doesnt take any responsibility for their bad service.

Pizza was excellent! Plenty cheesy and not shy with the toppings! Definitely one of the top pizzas Ive had and will continue to come back to enjoy it again!

Stopped in on a long day of riding. Worth the time. The place was busy but we didnt wait long. We got a small combo pizza and a couple of side salads, which were fresh and well proportioned. The small pizza was packed and as hungry as we were, we had to leave behind a slice. Great tasting heavy slices and very friendly staff. Definitely can recommend!

17 kids gave this place a thumbs up. We took our Scout troop there and although they were short staffed, they made the best of it with a cheerful attitude and pretty fast service.

The first time we ordered red Baron from DoorDash the pizza was so greasy that the cheese and the toppings fell off to where I was only eating tomato sauce and bread. The second time we ordered from red Baron the dough was so undercooked that my five-year-old sister the next day started puking.

Great business, and great food! They suffered some staffing issues which slowed down their service, but I think that they are getting back to normal now. I highly recommend it.

Came from out of town for the weekend and came across this pizza place. Was really good and everyone was super sweet. Definitely coming back again in the future.

Although I do not eat at this establishment due to moving away from big bear, I would refuse to whenever I ever come home to visit familt. This place has never and will never change. Had a family member who worked here back in the day and nothing has changed in the last 20 years except their prices

Were going to charge $2 for toppings it would be nice if they would put them on the pizza. I ordered a pizza that should have been $20 the bill was 26 dont understand why.

Absolutely amazing food. Despite being understaffed they got our order quickly, service was attentive and although we just waited 15 mins for food I would have waited an hour for that pizza and garlic bites!!

Fantastic experience! Walked in at 6PM and immediately sat down with a party of six. We were greeted shortly thereafter and our food was brought to us within a reasonable time after we ordered. I did notice that they seemed understaffed as there was only one girl running the bar whilst simultaneously waiting tables. Nevertheless, this did not affect the service. Overall, a great time with friends and amazing food! Definitely recommend the garlic bites!!!

The Pizza & Wings Was Really Good The wait for them To Cook Everything was Horrible.I Waited 1 1/2 HR. I was there with 12 Other people one guy who waited 2HRS. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! The staff was nice & Respectfull,I looked in the back Kitchen and It Looks Like the Oven Is Only Big Enough For ×3 pizzas at a Time this Place needs a Major Upgrade

Food was great place was under staff but service was beyond exceptional. The waitress /cashier was quick and very polite and seeing Jayden cleaning tables was definitely the icing on the cake. Great job to both you!

I understand everyone is understaffed and there were a good amount of people in the place. However we were there for an hour with no update on our food. We ordered for three people and after waiting for so long we ended up getting a refund and moving on. Even the bartenders working said the cooks werent doing anything.

The order was placed on Doordash under the name Austin Halligan. Nearly two hours after we ordered pickup on Doordash, we still only got a portion of our food. Im sure that they are critically understaffed. When we placed the order, we were told 100 minutes. Upon arriving about an hour and half later, we were told 20 more minutes. We drove through the Village and returned 35 minutes later. We were told that our order would be another 30 minutes out. We cancelled right then and were given two pizzas and some very burnt garlic bread. I just wish that we had been given a realistic wait time from the start do that we could have avoided what became a very bad experience.

Was a go to spot for me until this past Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We could not reach anyone by phone and had to place our order through door dash. I show up at the suggested time on the app and had to wait 50 more minutes because they were slammed with orders. They only had like three people in the place with a nice young lady having to deal with the bar, dining room and takeout. Not sure why they were so short staffed during an obviously busy day. On top of that, MY ORDER WAS WAY UNDERCOOKED! I had to put slices in my air fryer to make it edible. Complete and unfortunate disappointment, as I try to support our local eateries.
