Great fresh food, breakfast ALL DAY!! This place is pleasing to the eye; quaint and welcoming. Very clean restaurant and restrooms. Nice coffee offering and coffee bar. They carry beer, malts, shakes and other virgin mixed drinks. Service was awesome. Never felt ignored, and my drink never went dry. Our waitress was kind, friendly, helpful and patient. I didn't inquire, but it looks like they rent rooms here too. I will always come back! Big bear chill vibe, country fresh food with 5-star restaurant presentation and taste.

The place was very busy when we arrived around 11am, most tables have only just gotten seated. It was a long wait for a party of 8; however, the service made up for it. Our waitress was very efficient and polite. We liked her so much that we gave her additional tips on top of their standard charge on the bill for large parties. The food was surprisingly delicious with fresh ingredients and good portions. Most of us had leftovers to take back with us.

We were looking for a cozy little mountain diner / restaurant, and we found a great one. Food was amazing service was fantastic they do have delicious specialty coffees for those looking for the sweet coffees in the morning. Highly recommend the chilaquiles. However my son claims that their pancakes truly are the world's best pancakes. We will definitely be back every time we come up to Big Bear.

Got sat at my table. Waited 35 min for our drink order to be taken. Instead the hostess comes up and asked to use our table for another group. Sits us at a booth. 45min in we finally get asked what we want to drink.

Great food and excellent service 2 days in a row. Light fluffy pancakes, awesome Aztec Burger (just the right kick). Quesadilas were good sized and so were the omlettes.

Best breakfast place in Big Bear. Food is amazing, never too greasy and big enough without being absurdly giant!
The service is also great, memo our waiter went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos but I didn’t want to skip this review because THIS IS THE BEST BREAKFAST PLACE IN THE ENTIRE BIG BEAR AREA.

The country fried steak was mid tasted old

This was my first time here. It's located in Big Bear. Our waitress was very good and checked in our large family group to make sure we had everything we needed. The seating areas inside weren't that big, but the food, service and the kind conversations with other customers is what gives this restaurant a 5-star rating. The waitress accommodated our large family well by pulling other chairs and tables together. One small family gave up their table for our family and they just moved to another table. Friendliness of staff and customers is so popular. We are definitely going back!

This is a hidden gem right in plain sight. Food was delicious, server was very nice. I wanted a charming place and well it had little charm but more diner type feel. However it still worked perfect for what I was looking for. Luckily my husband rememberrd seeing it when we came into BB.

My husband and I visited the Country Cafe every day of our three-day trip. It's a nice, comfortable place to have dinner on the weekend away from the Village. Breakfast was much busier! Even so, the service was good and food came pretty fast. Try out their gourmet coffee options!

I ordered their double Patty burger and it was absolutely huge! Each Patty was at least 1/3 lb and char grilled to perfection. The service here is always excellent and the waiters always friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant and overall this is a great place to eat.

Amazing breakfast diner in Big Bear Lake! Delicious food and fast service; but there was an advertised 10% discount for cash payments. Upon payment however, they charged the normal price and when we asked, they said you have to ask for the 10%. So that felt a bit sus, but other than that it was lovely.

The food was average and didn’t taste fresh (but to be fair we had lunch and were told the breakfasts are good). We got there with not high expectations for food but because as a brunch place we wanted to sit there a bit longer and get some work done. While we were still having our tea/coffee after lunch, the servers brought us the bill and basically wanted us out. So we didn’t have the best experience.

I absolutely love country kitchen one of my fav restaurants the food is amazing the atmosphere is great unfortunately the one here in big bear the morning server I didn’t get her name but she was very inattentive and a little in a rush despite the business being empty this morning, she didn’t offer us straws or even water, when we got water had she gave us a straw I would not have noticed the lipstick still on my cup, very disappointing and upsetting, the food was still amazing.

We stayed the weekend in big bear and had breakfast there 2x it was that good!! To top it off they have mimosas and Micheladas if your in the area definitely a great place for breakfast but gets packed by 9am but love love love the food and people too

Had the chicked fried steak. It seemed frozen and heated. Not bad. The eggs were burnt. The hash browns were soggy. The toast was both stale and chewy.
It was almost like the whole dish was made the night before and put in the fridge then microwaved and served.
Witress was very talkative. The place was clean and had good views of the snow.

Wow! I’m a regular at Country Kitchen and thought I’d raved all I could. But this time our server, Haydee, was so incredible that I have to say more. Of course the food and atmosphere were their usual great but Haydee was so efficient and friendly it blew us away! I think she was reading our minds and served what we wanted even before we asked. Keep up the exceptional work, Haydee!

Portions are not good, food has no flavor, water tastes like they scooped it out the well with their hands, wickedly overpriced. Server didn't check on us throughout the meal until it was time for the check. Constantly playing covers of country songs that all sound the same.

When we arrived there were over 15 people waiting. We were told it would be about 20 minutes. We put our names down on the list and decided to wait. So happy we did. The food was great and the service was absolutely fantastic! Definitely worth the short wait.

I had the Eggs Benedict, the hollandaise sauce was strong but I ended up liking it a lot with the ham. It was served with hash browns, and as someone who usually doesn't eat hash browns these were really good. The food was a bit on the room temperature side but I think it was because it was cold inside (outside temperature was in the low 30's Fahrenheit), I don't blame them for that, it still tasted good.

Waiters were helpful, it got busy for the only two that were attending tables but they did a great job. Food didn't take long to be served. I would return here.

Food was cold and tasted like plastic. Restroom did not have soap so the food was most likely covered in filth. The only slightly good thing was the sausage and pancakes. Would not recommend, do not eat here.

Омлет не сподобався, я замовляла вегетеріаннський, в ньому знайшла шматочки бекону та м'яса. Та смажився він явно поряд чи на тій же самій сковорідці і жирі, що м'ясні. Присмак був жахливий.

An American breakfast, well prepared and well served. I ordered the typical breakfast of eggs, bacon, and hash browns with some pancakes. They accidentally made French Toast, so they served me that also with my pancakes. It was all too much to finish but I tried everything and it was all good. The coffee was also good.

While small, this little place really lives up to it's name, even down to no wifi. Some would complain, but I find it more nostalgic. The food was filling and delicious. Next time I'm in the area I will stop by again!

Such a fun and friendly place. The food was great, but the service and the people who frequent this place are worth experiencing.

I got the Country omelet, and my wife got the Farm Skillet. Both were very flavorful and the coffee was bottomless.

The cherry on top of it all were the staff. Our waitress Rachel was very friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond in her service. One of the servers even came over and gave us tips on places to hike to and what to see. We even had incredible conversations with other guests.

This is such a friendly and homey place to dine in. Definitely worth going back to.

Food was good. Overall the place needs to be cleaned better (e.g. possible kid snot smears all on the window at our booth). I was served a $3.84 mug of regular coffee (a small mug) in a dirty cup (big hunk of dried chocolate on the side and dried spot where someone else had sipped the cup). Overpriced. We enjoyed the food, but not worth what we paid. There are other nicer and better priced places to have breakfast in town.

What can I say, other than this place is delicious.
Meatloaf- deliciously savory. Mashed potatoes were great, veggies were perfectly steamed
Avocado Jack Wrap- perfect for a hot day. Light, tastey, and easy to eat.
Country Fried Steak-I have had a lot of CFS and this was the only dish that reminded me of my grandma's cooking, perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, the biscuit and gravy was on point, I haven't had a biscuit that good in years. Gravy was meaty and delicious, nothing bland or starchy. All around a great place to eat.

This is my first time going to try the food here. It was very cozy, gave off a family owned type of atmosphere. Which I really liked the food was amazing. I had the sampler platter which included a variety of different things, and I must say everything on the plate was delicious and well cooked. The only adverse thing I have to say was the customer service could’ve been a lot better. I understand everyone has off days and I’m not here to judge anyone on that, but the service could’ve been a little better other than that everything else was good and I would suggest this place to anyone who is looking for good country kitchen food! Ty for serving us.

We went in to eat on Saturday and to have a peaceful meal. But their was a Hispanic lady speaking Spanish and saying insulting bad words to another employee. She was also very rude to me. I bought a slice of apple pie but they didn't have any. So they brought me a very frozen slice of cheesecake. I kindly asked her to change it, but she kept stopping me from talking and even walked Away when I was trying to talk to her. I patiently waited for her to let me talk and to tell her what I wanted to change the frozen slice of cheesecake with but she pointed me to go back outside and to wait for a slice of whatever SHE wanted to bring me. SO WE waited and waited and nothing. SO I went inside and asked for my refund back and I did get it back from a young lady with blond hair working on the register. Food was ok. I hope that Hispanic lady learns how to act in a professional matter, if she stays working at this restaurant.

Wonderful breakfast there yesterday! The restaurant has lots of seating and is very clean. Rosie is a friendly and very attentive server who answered all of our questions and kept us filled with coffee, water, and napkins. She also ensured that our special order was done perfectly. I had the country fried steak with eggs, hash browns, and a biscuit. Hubby had pork chops and eggs with hash browns and pancakes. Huge portions -- I couldn't finish mine. The eggs were scrambled perfectly in soft layers. The hash browns were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The meats were cooked perfectly and the gravy was delicious. The pancakes and biscuits were incredibly light and fluffy -- the lightest either of us have ever had. Country Kitchen also gives a Senior Discount on Wednesdays! Can't wait to go back!

I don't want to give this place too many stars. I don't want too many people coming over preventing me from getting a table right away. Oh what the heck. They deserve five stars across the board

They make me feel like family. The manager said wait staff are all super friendly and accommodating.

My favorite is the chicken fried country steak and the pork chops. Also love their fried chicken dinner.

Great service and great food. Chef Juan did a good job.

I ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was very firm and hard to cut. The gravy was watery and had a canned taste. The hashbrowns were cold as well. The eggs were great, though.
