Was I initially concerned about the price point (nearly $15 dollars for a specialty bagel) but it was delicious! I got the Angela’s Special and it was very filling and tasty .

The sandwich was enjoyable, though the bread slices were thicker than I personally prefer, which slightly detracted from the overall experience. The pricing feels a bit high for the portions offered, but it’s possible I simply selected the wrong bread option. I plan to return and explore other menu items. Aside from that, the customer service was excellent, and there was ample parking available.

My father and I visited this shop. There is plenty to choose from and their menu is extensive. From the moment you walk in you can smell the food being cooked, the potato salad as a side is absolutely divine. I personally ordered the turkey pesto sandwich with potato salad. There is a self serve water and lemon water station that was more than enough to go with the sandwich I had for my meal - but they serve coffee as well and have juices and smoothies as well. It's a bit tucked away towards the back of the Village shopping center, but worth checking out. I think I had one of the best sandwiches Ive ever tasted from this place. (Keep in mind they also have a BYO, build your own option).

I can only go by my experience at this establishment (saw some negative reviews)... Came here on August 3rd, 2024 (Saturday) around noon. Got in line and looked on the board and also the printed to go menu. We saw the cash and credit card fee policy (it's a small business, credit card fees are terrible and I totally get that it's not their fault they have to pass that fee along to a consumer, think of it as a convenience fee... you already pay for it at the gas station if you use a card)

I ordered a BLTA sandwich with the house made potato salad and a beer. My friends ordered sandwiches and a couple of alcoholic margaritas (mango and strawberry)

Our orders came promptly and service was great. We asked for some napkins and a condiment and were checked on by a server while there. My friends and I agreed that all of our food was really really good and so were the drinks. (And if you don't understand why you have to have the alcoholic drinks inside the establishment... here's the reason - it's under their liquor license... they have to follow the law)

Anyway, we enjoyed our lunch here very much and I'm going to make it a point to come back the next time I'm in Big Bear.

The food is great. The menu is eclectic and friendly for all food preferences. The food is good, quality and fresh are not an issue here. However, the wait may not justify the overall cost and experience. Sadly, the restaurant is understaffed, but the staff that is there, when they finally notice you, is friendly.

My husband and I came in 10 minutes before closing and they were so nice and professional. Took our order and let us eat inside. I wasn’t expecting to eat the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I got a turkey on the signature black olive Parmesan bread… let me tell you… I could eat the bread all by itself and be satisfied. Then they put this delicious thinly sliced turkey, avocado, cheese, lettuce, red pepper hummus, and I think some balsamic vinaigrette. It was so good! That bread though… is amazing! I bet the bagels are bomb! It was so good and like I said they were so nice to us and we really enjoyed it. If you haven’t been here, highly recommend you try it!

Wow, I am so thrilled to have found this place! We've always eaten at FireRock when going to Big Bear. We were there for 4th of July and really wanted to try a new place, namely Tropicali. BUT, the line was way out the door, and it was a HOT day. We were desperate for food, and I was desperate for just a cool seating area to sit down. We ended up walking into Amangela's and saw the rather extensive menu on the wall and were surprised! Tons of sandwich and bagel options. I tried the turkey pesto sandwich on rye and I LOVED it!! Everything tasted super fresh, bright, and flavorful! And the sandwich was pretty big! It came with a very small potato salad and that was delicious as well! I wished it was double the portion size. It was so good we decided to go back for breakfast and that was a hit too. We will definitely be back! Only drawback is that it is a bit of a wait to get the food but I think it was totally worth it!

Never again!! I walked in and there were like 2 people in there. I came in at 2:00pm and left at 3:00pm. Customer service was horrible and they seemed frustrated at customers because they were canceling orders, and that was because it was taking an hour to get food which is ridiculous and I don’t see how that’s even possible!!! In the future they should tell the customers the wait if the time because this just ridiculous and the food was mid and nothing special for the price.

Legit it took them an hour to make a roast beef sandwich. The person taking orders was standing around doing practically nothing in between the occasional person coming in to order. Meanwhile one person would make an appearance every 10 to 15 minutes to bring out an item or two. The food was ok, but nothing special. Not worth the wait. Save your time and money and skip this one.

The food was delicious, every single item we ordered. The ladies who were working today had the patience of saints. The line was out the door because the tourists have flocked to the snow on this holiday weekend. They served everyone with a smile and politely asked customers for grace and patience since they were short handed on staff. Our wait for food was quite lengthy, about 45 mins. This was in no way their fault though! My latte was delicious and the atmosphere was so cute! We can’t wait to come back when there are less flat-landers taking over the town so we can enjoy it more haha. Thanks ladies for a great breakfast! PS Bring cash!

Chips are the small kids lunch size that you get from Costco in bags of 50 for a few bucks (low quality). For the prices you would expect it to be staffed so that it wouldn’t take 40 minutes for a two sandwich order. Low rating for low value and very long wait.

When we came across this shop and entered it was then when we decided to stay. The menu is on the wall, literally the whole wall. They make everything there so the wait might be longer than other places. I had the veggie sandwich on jalapeño cheddar bread and let me tell you that it was as big as my face. Stuffed with all kings of raw veggies as possible along some spread of their homemade hummus and a side of potato salad. Honestly by looking around at other tables we can see that their meal was good and since anything served on a bagel is delicious maybe if we come back we'll give it a try at other menu items.

Been there a handful of times now and I always enjoy their lox bagel. They have a fun selection of drinks as well. But most recently we tried to go around their opening time in the morning and they were closed. We hung around and waited, assuming maybe the opening employee was just running late. We waited an hour and nothing, no sign of anyone arriving to open. Really disappointing, especially considering we checked their hours before we drove over there and it said the business had confirmed their business hours on Google just 6 days previously. I advise updating your business hours online so they’re accurate.

The Veggie sandwich had outstanding flavor, it was large, very sharable and came with a side portion of potato salad. This summer Tuesday at 11am the crowd was light, no one in line to order. The staff (I saw two) were polite and attentive but not friendly, they were politely transactional. My custom order was taken and delivered to my outside table correctly, after a 15 minute wait. The indoor facility was somewhere between could-have-been-cleaner and clean-enough. The tables were all clean though. Drinking water and plastic cups were available for self-serve. I'll return for the large portion, excellent sandwich. Oh, there's a 4% charge to use your Apple/Google pay or a credit or debit card, which I paid willingly for both sanitation and convenience.

This review isn't too fair bc I only come to Big Bear once a month. I Don't live here I am a weekender. The young man behind the counter handled the crowd with ease. Where do I begin. The cook could of just had a bad day or the mustard cap broke off on the Pastrami sandwich. The potato salad COULD have past for homemade if the pepper shaker lid didn't fall off and over pepper the potatoe salad and the Pastrami. Let's go back to my mustard sandwich with Pastrami. I literally wiped off the bread with my napkin and the mustard was buried in my bread. I also had a roast beef dip with cheddar and that my friend was spectacular!!! Win win! When I asked the girl for my other potatoe salad she literally waved her hands in the air like she just didn't care. In all fairness this was 4rth of July weekend. The service, well a whole bunch of people who were behind us were served before us, I chalked up to having a hot sandwich.

We waited 30 mins for 2 x $12 bagels and the girl on the cash was super rude. I asked how much longer the bagel would take - she said it would be 5 mins because they were just putting it in the toaster. Meanwhile, we were watching her for 30 mins leading up and she was prepping something like yogurt cups instead of making our bagels. If you are in a hurry, go to a sit down restaurant and you’ll get a full meal and faster/happier service for the same price.

The lox bagel is amazing. Huge bagel with layer of cream cheese, lox, tomatoes and then onion and capers.

Painfully slow service, definitely not worth the long wait for a simple sandwich. When our order finally came it was incorrect and drowned in mustard. And for some reason the potato salad is full of olives? Definitely wish I skipped this spot.

Our family loves this little gem in downtown Big Bear. Serving great soups, salads, and sandwiches for every pallette (carnivore, vegetarian and vegan), the home-baked bread and bagels, coffee drinks, wine, beer and smoothies hit the spot for a day of shopping and after skiing as the traffic tapers. Move quickly from slopes to Amangela's because they close at 5pm. Try the French Dip sandwich on their hoagie roll! Amazing!

Barista with curly hair is rude. Literally. I saw her being rude with other customers as well. Take a chill pill lady. Also, you're SLOWWW in making COFFEE drinks. I understand if you're fast but that's not the case.

Taste and the quality of the homemade food is flawless! Doesn’t feel for tourists but feels like comfortable country-ish. I’d like to eat some if I get sick. But the toilet is not very convenient. Overall, this is a great restaurant to go when you visit BigBear.
