Alright, so their chicken pot pie is the real reason for this review. Picture everything you love about a Thanksgiving dinner, wrapped up in flaky golden pie crust perfection and baked with love. There you have it. If ever a dish brought back a cathartic memory of turkey day, this is it. The gravy, the veggies, the chicken! I digress Now I know they aren t birds of a same feather, but forgive my fowl mouth and an unsavory pun or play on words No don t. This dish is a must have if you re at Thelma s. Wonderful staff and a warm atmosphere, you ll feel right at home here! Looking forward to ordering a pie or two for the upcoming holidays! Kid-friendliness: Friendly staff, great portions. Looking forward to bringing the kiddos back. I have a feeling this will be a hit with the whole family.

Had lunch here 01SEP24. I must have caught them during a lull as the place was almost empty. (2ish PM.) Had the french dip. (It was 5 star.) By the time I was leaving (45 mins later) the place was packed with people! Server is a CNA in Huntington. Very delightful. When I visit BB again, this place is on my short list to visit.

Me and my girlfriend are here today for the first time and there was A lot to love about this place. For one they had a healthy section with some vegetarian options. I got the veggie supreme, it had avocado alfalfa sprouts and Swiss cheese tomato and cucumber, It was filling and delicious. I appreciate that the ranch was homemade. The fries were perfectly fried. Girlfriend got the chicken pita, and cleaned the plate, something that s rare for her. Thanks to the restaurant for taking a step back and putting some thought into healthier options and making them just as good as the rest of the menu. Oh and I Recommend sitting outside in a nice day it has a beautiful outdoor courtyard.!

One of my favorite cafes in Big Bear. A little further away from the village, makes in an excellent place to stop by during a busy tourist weekend. Burger and fries, pretty basic. They put crisped onions on top of the burger, and it was OK. Id probably prefer grilled instead. Id come back for the prime rib special. There was even a prime rib sandwich, I should have gotten that. McDonalds-sized fries, love those. Excellent service, thank you!

This review is solely on the service I received. I left my purse behind and my son & my partner went back inside (separately) to get it for me. The lady said no purse was left behind (I was 100% certain I took my purse into restaurant) but my partner still proceeds to look for my purse @ the table we sat at. my partner then asks if there are cameras and she says yes. My partner comes to let me know my purse isn t inside so I m double checking the car but again I know I took my purse inside. So I go back myself to go look for my purse. And guess what, now my purse is suddenly @ the table we sat at. When my partner & son had already gone to look for it and it was not there.

We opted to take a table in the back corner that provided shade and kept our dog away from other patrons(just in case he got spooked and barked which he didnt). Got him a porkchop and as you can see from the photo its very thin. Got the French Toast which was good. The wife got eggs benedict which were good the hashbrowns were a bit mushy but passable. Orange juice tasted fresh squeezed so that was nice. Overall pretty pleased so yeah will definitely be back.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Poor service and disgusting, cold food. First, they sat us at a dirty table and came to clean it 2 mins later. Took about 15 mins for anyone to come back to take our order. Ordered jalapeño bottle caps, but received mushrooms instead. They took the mushrooms back, but then came out 10 minites later with the mushrooms and jalapeños. I didnt try the mushrooms but they looked greasy. The jalapeños tasted old and were doused in grease/oil. I had to ask for ranch (that was supposed to be with the jalapeños as the menu stated). Our salads came out, but none of us had silverware or napkins (still). You could see the oil emanating from the croutons....so greasy that they were soft. By the time our actual meals came out our drinks had already been empty for 10 minutes and we had to ask for refills, which were done one at a time. My chicken pot pie wasnt even lukewarm...it was cold. Sent it back. It came with a bowl of gravy (I think thats what it was but atill not sure). It was just a gelatenous, yellow gel of something. The pot pie was mostly a paste...only found two carrot and celery pieces. The Western Burger came with very little BBQ sauce...just a little squirt in the middle of the bun. The meat tasted boiled and flavorless. The ribs were nothing but fat. I couldnt even stand to look at the stringy, chewy fat. When drinks were refilled, ice wasnt added so soda was lukewarm. $130 of terrible service and disgusting food. Dont go there!!

Another group of 3 came after us were seated & gave drinks. We had to ask multiple times to even get out menus. Ive worked in customer service many years & I dont mind having to pay gratuity or even tip but when the service is not good why should I! The waitress had attitude from the start. We also asked to split the check she said no she has to charge the whole table together. & the FOOD! not great. Beans were way to salty. & the rest was bland. Very disappointed for Best Cafe in town. Today I wanted to give this location another chance. I visit my home here 3 times a month. Well looks like it was close because the patio was a mess. Walked In and waited to be acknowledged. Was told no dogs allowed; but when she realizes its a service animal she sat us down. Just pointed on where to sit and walked away. She went to another table to talk to them. We waited and waited and waited. She never bothered to look back. I felt like she just didnt want us there. I was about to just get up and leave when a young lady asked if we where ready. Got our drinks in and order immediately in case they left us waiting again. Its obvious we where not welcome there. Not sure if its because the way we look. Im thinking she is the owner. If you are, remodeling a location doesnt make people come back. Its service and food. Your food is ok, but not great. Your service is not great from you. Your the role model to your team. Im not judging you so never judge a book by its cover. Im just telling you how you made me feel. Well my family. If you care about your restaurant look at your reviews and instead of taking it personal see how you can change to make it better. You should be so pack that people are waiting to eat with you. It wasnt for a Saturday. BTW your employee did an amazing job wish you had that same attitude. Not recommending this location, ill just drive a couple miles do get great service and better food.
