One of the best meat pies I have ever eaten - delicious flaky pastry and yummy ground beef and cheese filling. So good! I'm Australian, so I've eaten a lot of meat pies; it's rare to get one this good!

**as of Oct 2024 their kitchen is located at the Elks Lodge so if you are only in town on their “closed” days, they should be in their kitchen and you can pick up frozen pies and desserts to take home! This is a different location than the food truck where they sell out of during their opening hours. (But they are gone on Sundays, which is their only day off!) Troy was so helpful and responsive via text, so you can just text the number provided to get info on when and where to pick up**

Delicious food served with so much heart, you can taste the love in each pie! We got the lamb, the steak, the pork, and the egg and bacon breakfast pie. The meat pies were incredible. Do not skip these! I especially appreciate how they get their meat from local farms, and when we were there, we even saw the pig farmer stop by to deliver the pork. Each pie is filled with tender bite sized chunks of gently braised meat stew. The 3 meat pies tasted different than each other, definitely get all 3. The bone broth filling is so rich, only attainable by being braised in the oven for 3-4 hours! I visited New Zealand for 3 weeks and didn’t come across any that tasted remotely like these amazing pies!! The caramel slice is like the most wholesome and rich home made version of a Twix bar! It stores well in the freezer so you can buy multiple to take home. Taste the best a little defrosted, so the caramel gets gooey.

This food truck is a MUST VISIT! This food is incredible. I’m a vegetarian and struggle to find good food in smaller towns but this place is incredible. I got the lentil and mushrooms and my partner got the buttered chicken and we were both in heaven. The crust is so perfectly crispy and buttery and the filling is generous. They even sell frozen pies for a discount and we plan on going back and getting 10 of them. Do yourself a favor and if you are in Bishop get yourself a pie.

Wow. I'm serious when I say the best meat pies I've EVER had. The flaky, buttery, amazing crust stole the show before even biting into it. The flavors...out of this world. Tried the steak, and tried the mushroom lentil. Perfect portions. Straight 🔥. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful describing what's inside each pie, and you can tell they put a lot of love and pride into the INCREDIBLE creations they make! I highly recommend you try them!!

Absolutely delicious pies by Troy! He was so sweet and charming and really knows what he's doing with these NZ pies. We had a butter chicken and a lentil mushroom pie and both were very delicious! Highly recommend.

Excellent meat pie. I had a cold (heat and eat) pie. A full meal or split one for a snack size portion. Wide variety of choices. Plus a free sample of a dessert bar, which was also excellent.

Really tasty meat pies. Had the butter chicken and lamb pies. At $11 a pie they're quite expensive. They were flaky, the filling was really good (although there could have been more of it), and sauce was yummy. I would come back.

Little robust pies that are absolutely delicious. Crusts (we got multiple) were so flaky & light. A definite must for my family for now on. Gets a little chilly on the bench, but you can always sit in your vehicle. Well worthwhile. Parking: Located in the park behind the fire station/ town hall.

I have a major complaint about this place: Every time I taste a different flavor it becomes my favorite and I keep ordering it. So it takes FOREVER for me to finally try another flavor, which seems to inevitably become my new favorite and the cycle starts over again. These pies save me having to think about dinner during the summer when I m too busy to cook. The breakfast pies are a great hearty start to my day that are actually pretty easy to stuff in my face while trying to get somewhere (although I suggest actually savoring it, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do). I m also quite partial to the cheesecake, grab one of those to top off your lunch and go sit by some water and enjoy life for a little while. The food is great, the family is great and there is absolutely no losing when you get something to eat from Pino s!

The people are really friendly, openly talk with you and it isnt awkward when you eat inside. They have chess for you to play, and I highly recommend their steak pie. The dishes were very nicely washed. No one ever thanks the dishwasher.

OMG! My sweet neighbor brought us a dozen for Christmas! We had the apple pie for breakfast and the sirloin and cheese for lunch! Both were a crowd favorite! Absolutely delicious! The flaky crust and sweet and savory fillings are all delicious! Can t wait to try all the other pie flavors! Don t hesitate , stop and get em!

Oh my goodness, incredible food! New Zealand entrepreneurs in Bishop. I look forward to Thurs and Fri so I can purchase my lunch, dinner and dessert. The slaw is delicious. The pies are scrumptious, especially the veggies ones. I ve been told the lamb are the best. Desserts are crazy good! Carrot cake is very tasty. Definitely worth seeking this place out. Look for Meat Pies sign on West Line before Manor Market.

Sent my friends there today to pick up frozen pies for dinner. Told them they were the best pies I ve had including in NZ. Got their report tonight We had a variety. Steak. Lamb and Lentil mushroom. All stunning. Epic crust. Epic. Canceling my New Zealand trip. I think they liked them :-)

Do not miss this fantastic spot. I ve never had more delicious hand pies ultra tender, buttery, flaky and rich. We had potato top (sort of like shepherd s pie), butter chicken, and a sausage roll. So good I could cry. Sweets and lovely crisp veggie slaw also fantastic. Be sure to try the raspberry lammington. Iconic!! Rolled through town a few months ago and grabbed an assortment of pies, all where very good and the owners where pleasnt and friendly to chat with. i would reccomend stopping if youre in town since its not everyday you find a place to get good meat pies
