Hans & Harry's Bakery

It's okay! It used to be good. Used to. They got super popular, and now they are lacking quality. I love their strawberry strudle. But their carrot cake is so bad! Too sweet, and it tastes artificial, the carrots too crunchy, because it's raw carrots. Sorry, but I wasn't a fan of this cake. One thing that I was super disappointed is that they made changes in the cake and should've call me if I was okay with the substitutions instead of just making the cake and expect me to be okay with it. I do support small businesses, but I sometimes they need to humble themselves and remember not to cut corners with ingredients. Also, the shape was square and not round.

Employees are all very nice and welcoming, even with a line they don’t try to rush you I’ve stopped by a few times I don’t mind driving 20-30 min out because their pastries are definitely worth it!

Today morning I tried this place and to my surprise they have so many options to choose from. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. This place opens up early and also closes early in evening so I would suggest if you want to look all their options and decide on what to try go early as some of their hottest selling gets sold out. All the items are freshly baked. All and all definitely a place worth trying. Their must try is Canoli and flourless cake

I took the opportunity on my brothers birthday to order a tres leches cake and I went inside the bakery to look more at their pastries. There was tons of delicious options. I was very satisfied with my options, if ever interested you can order online for any special occasion. I highly recommend everything is delicious

Fresh Fruit Strudel was flaky good and light 😋, Tart and sweet lemon bar, a large variety of delicious fresh, handmade desserts, European flair... Next time I'm trying the cheese cake, chocolate pecan pie and the eclair!! Smells delicious!! Individual and Large family celebration style desserts! Get there early for the best variety! Get there later and they are still putting out lots of fresh pastries!!

New look to the place. Went to place a order for a birthday cake [chocolate German cake 🎂]. Pick up the cake it was beautiful made. It was "extremely expensive" for a simple small size [6inch] round cake😳whoa!

Poor customer service. I called their number 15 times and no answer. The one time someone actually did answer they hung up on me at mid sentence. I understand that they’re probably busy, but have someone at least man the phone. I just had one simple question. I don’t want to have to show up at the store just to answer my question.

I drove all the way from Spring Valley because I was told by a young lady who answered the phone that there where Apple pies available for sale at $14.99 1st come 1st serve..I drove straight over there after I hung up it only took 20 minutes..when I get there they said they ran out...I was upset because i just called and there is no way that they had ran out of Apple pie, whoever I spoke to gave me wrong info..or they just said yes thinking I would purchase something else..I recommend don't call because they will lie to you just to get you there to purchase something else..pre-order first.

I'm never disappointed when I come here. The only danger is you'll probably leave with way more than you intended to get 🤣 the staff is always polite and attentive. The desserts are all amazing. My favorite is the fruit tartlets, and mini key lime tarts.

Famously good! For a dinner party, birthday, anniversary or gift. Everything is gorgeous and delicious. The strudel is their flagship: crispy, flaky, custard and fresh fruits. Unbeatable!

Han's and Harry Bakery has been open for many years. The quality of their goods, service, and the cleanliness of the location has been maintained throughout. The bakery is brightly lit, showing off all the lovely colors of their delicious cakes and pastries. The staff is always smiling, friendly and very helpful.

LOVE THE FRESH FRUIT STRUDEL!
I have been going here for years. The inside of the bakery is clean, the employees are nice and the prices are reasonable. You can either order online or walk in. Only negative is they don’t offer military/ first responder discount.

Such a well run business. The employees are kind and professional and so helpful. I had a very old credit from a cake I had to cancel about two years ago and I was able to easily use that credit with no hassle whatsoever.

Had the worse service last Saturday. Wife and I went in for some pastries, we've been going here for years, which to be honest are always on point(cinnamon roll and upside down are my favs) the young lady called our number and asked what we'd like, cinnamon roll, apple turnover and 2 cookies. We watched as it took her 10 minutes to grab 4 items. It took her so long because she would stop and chat with coworkers and she was packaging each item separately instead of in one box. She finally packed the final item, the apple turnover, which she stacked top, and again doing so while talking to another coworker. Not paying attention to her surroundings, we watched as she walked into another coworker and drop part if our order on to the floor. The apple turnover which she placed in a trash bin and she walked away from the counter. After a few minutes she returns and said "I dropped the the turnover and it was our last one." You dropped it I said and she answered with a nod. She asked what else I wanted I answered just the other items will do which she placed on the counter for the cashier and just walked away. No apology from her. The cashier looked at us and said "I'm so sorry" and I really felt that she meant it which changed my 1 star rating for service to 2 stars

Nothing ever stays the same. Not like I remember. If you are going there for a specific item or two that they are known for you may be very happy. Other items are pretty forgettable.

Hans and Harry's did my wedding cakes and desserts. The strudels were absolutely worth the hype! We had the fruit and mocha strudels which were delightful! I am so sad that I didn't get to taste all of the cakes, but the one I did get to try was absolutely decadent and perfect. They were beautiful!! My father-in-law picked them up, and they were ready on time and traveled well! I'm so grateful! The pricing is fantastic and worth every penny.

Noticeably worth the drive or cost of desserts. I'm not really disappointed. I stopped buying from them 15 yes ago for the same reason. All look pretty, but blan & tasteless. The French would spit out the pastries. So no more fir me. I would rather buy from a variety of Real Pastry Bakers in LA. Play for looks at Hana & Harry's not quality pastry!

This place is amazing and every time I visited, there is a line of people; however, don't be discouraged, as the wait is short because the staff manages it well. The food is amazing and the staff is very kind and polite.

Their Black Forest cake is the best I've ever had and it's readily available in their refrigerated section, so no need to order.

Today was not a good day. After leaving dialysis I stopped to get treats for my family. I took in an insulated shopping bag. After ordering all my favors in had asked my server to put my items into my bag. She just walked away.

Haven't been to H&H for over a year. They remodeled the place and it was nice. Had to wait about 30 mins to get in,but well worth the wait! I bought muffins, tarts, twists and parfait. Everything was delicious!

I bought an Eclair, a tart and a slice of raspberry cake. The tart and the raspberry cake were delicious. The chocolate on the Eclair was too much. All I tasted was the chocolate. I will go back and try the rest of their pastries.

Best bakery ever!!! Everything they sell looks great, and everything I've had so far is excellent. There is plenty of parking, but be aware that during the holidays you need to plan ahead and order what you need with plenty of time, because this is a popular place and can get very busy. But even with a long wait time, you will not regret buying baked goods here.

All the pastries here are great with freshly baked items all on display everyday, but it's getting to the point that the prices are a little on the expensive side... The chocolate chip muffin is frequently out of stock, so my alternative is getting the coconut chocolate chip muffin.

I came from far away driving 47 iminutes to see the store. I arrive at 6pm and the door it was closed and the employees they were inside I checked the website they were saying they close at 6:30 PM same thing at the door, too says we close at Monday at 6:30 PM we knock the door, and the girl she worked there she ignoring us…
How are you guys gonna feel if that was you that happened to you?

We had seen this place on the way to our campsite the day before, not knowing we would be having breakfast here the next day. As it turns out we ran out of camp fuel and were unable to make breakfast,but remembered the bakery sign. So we packed up and headed here. The staff was friendly. The place was busy but it didn't take long to get our food. The price was less than a similar place on the coast. Great pastries and baked goods if your close

If you are looking for a true French bread this is the place to go! This is confirmed by my international student who is here from France. My only issue which is not really an issue is that the food is so good there's a long line and you know I hate waiting in line other than that perfect! Okay so it can be slightly pricey but you get what you pay for and in this case totally worth it.

You have to get your Tres Leches from this place from now on, I know I will.

Get the one in the aluminum pan.

Fruit on top was fresh and sweet, a nice change from other places old tasting strawberries.

It's my new favorite bakery! Outstanding flavors and variety. The strudel is fantastic! I've been living in Chula Vista for about 15 years, but did not know of this bakery until my wife received a fruit strudel for her birthday(just 2 weeks ago) and we were so impressed with how delicious it was! For Valentines Day l thought l would give Hans & Harry's a try and ordered a Napoleon Strudel and we will be coming back!! We're so excited about this bakery!

Hans and Harry Bakery is incredible. I thought I was going to the best bakery until I visited Hans & Harry. Try the oatmeal cookies - just as my mother made. Large selection of cakes, cookies, breads, and more! It is a trek to get there but worth it. Bakery is onsite!

I love the bakery and all its products; but the most odd thing happened to me this morning. As I when in to purchase a couple of muffins I mentioned to the clerk that I had purchased a chocolate chip muffin last Saturday and that it somehow had cranberry in it. I requested if she could please replace it by adding one to my order free of charge. She proceeded to get the manager for approval and when she arrived she denied my request unless I had “proof”.
I mentioned I was on my way on a trip to Fresno and by the time my daughter noticed something wrong we were have way there. She then asked for a receipt but I didn’t have one because I tapped the “no receipt” on the screen.
Was I suppose to have saved the left over muffin for three days and bring it as proof???
She then brought the owner and she repeated the same thing the manager had said and mentioned she could “compromise” and give me a discount; that anyone could come in and say something like that just to get a free muffin.
I was appalled and shocked and shared I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. She finally said if it made me happy she’ll give it to me for free to which I responded “why go through all the hassle/embarrassment of that to finally not charge me?”
Also, why would you risk a bad review and loosing a customer (potentially more) who’s been coming here since ‘99 for a merely 2.50?
She answered it was the “principle of it”.
This definitely left a bad taste and reflects how and what ownership truly thinks of its customers.

Great bakery overall, I've ordered a few custom cakes and each time they are spot on with the attention to detail. They are Very friendly and helpful especially considering there are so many great options to choose from and making a decision can be tough.

Trust me, try your favorite type of pastry here and you will be addicted! A long time local bakery fave, they have yummy muffins, wonderful cinnamon rolls, great cookies, a wide selection of beautiful pastries, and if you need a cake at the last minute, they have those in the refrigerated area along with a lot of other fabulous goodies. You take your number as you walk in and then you are free to wander and look at the glass cases as you wait to have your number called. It can get quite busy at times and they can sell out of your favorite items rather quickly.
