Twenty Mule Cafe

When one goes to an American Cafe they know what to expect and when it comes to the classics they got that. But for me I enjoy the Mexican food, Cesar the owner knows how to make a mighty fine Chimichanga. After a days work or a long drive this kinda food is fairly priced and leaves one feeling full!

The place is clean enough and I liked the decor felt like you were in a mining towns cafe if they had something like this back when the mules still were used to pull the boron.

Great comfort food at a great small town price. The restaurant isn't fancy, but it's clean, with old fashioned service. Food is tasty. We always stop for breakfast of dinner, when traveling by.

Kind of slow on service, but for Christmas Eve, it's great. Menu full of good priced food, almost all breakfast (waffles and crepes), burgers, and Mexican food. Huge portions. All made fresh to order.

Great breakfast spot! On the road to Vegas after a bit of boon-docking in the RV….
Waitress was lovely. Food and coffee really good! We all had breakfast burritos and ate outside enjoying the morning sun. So nice.

Terrible service! We were waiting for our meal. . The waitress was a “witch” she was more interested in mopping the floor, knocking our chairs around, going under our table, acted like we were in her way! She was very snobbish and acted like we were an inconvenience!she did not wash her hands before bringing our drinks.( the mop handle and bucket were filthy)This was mid afternoon, this type of cleaning is usually done towards closing time!Very irritating, to say the least and very rude!! We left! We always looked forward to stopping here for a good meal as we travel through this town at least 6 times a year! No More!! The hospitality we were shown was despicable!

The pancakes, omelette and the burgers were wonderful! We had a small dog with us and Cameron set us up on the terrace. Thank you! We had a very good

Excellent food and service!
I had the chilaquiles with steak and eggs. I ordered my steak medium rare, it came out spot on. The steak was very nicely seasoned and tender. Eggs were a proper over easy. The chilaquiles verde sauce was flavorful with a nice spice to them, they were also topped with sliced red onion a nice touch. The waitress was very polite and prompt.
I'd gladly order the same dish again, I look forward to my next stop in and trying more of their dishes.

This quaint cafe was our stop on our trip from southern to northern CA. We had BLTs and fries. The sandwiches were wrapped in paper and then cut. Holds it all together and keeps it a bit warm. We had a great experience!! Thank you!

What they lack in vegetarian options they makeup for in their amazing customer service and quality.

I've been here a few times and I do have to say that they make one of the most delicious burgers I've had from a diner in a long time! Their chili is delicious too!! I took it and topped my fries and made myself some amazing chili cheese fries!!

I will say that I'm disappointed by their "Vegetarian" options. The vegetarian burrito is a bean and cheese burrito with rice and bell peppers. Their idea of a vegetarian omelette is the same thing! I think offering some mushroom and broccoli would be a great idea!! They also currently don't have a vegetarian burger option. As a chef myself I feel they could make a few little changes that would increase their overall revenue and food sales substantially!

The customer service is great!! The ambience is good and from the looks, the restaurant itself is clean!

Haven't been there for about 12 years, so comforting to go in and see the same dude making the food. Never had anything but the meat lover breakfast burrito with their salsa! If your passing through on 58 to or from Vegas, grab a burrito and enjoy!

It’s definitely the stop if you’re passing through Boron. I had the cheeseburger combo with a shake and it was good. Price of food is good too. Service was great, really nice waitress.

What a great find. If you're in the area it is a Must Stop. I had the combo Mexican plate with a hard beef taco and a cheese enchilada. Hubby had the cheese steak sandwich and fries. All food was great. I felt like I've known the waitress for years.

Had the fajitas. Did not like the guacamole at all (no texture, way too much jalapeño). Meat of medium quality, and slightly burned. Beans had an unpleasant texture. Tortillas were good though.
Service was quite good.
Colorful pictures and collected items on the orange walls were eye catching and intriguing.
A good, but not great, experience overall.

Needed some fuel for the drive home from Vegas after the Raider Win! Service was fast and the prices were right. Nothing fancy but it was the perfect stop before the heart of our journey.

Me and my wife got stranded right off the freeway in boron, ca. Spent a 2 days there, during our stay the 20 mule rd. Cafe was the go to spot for lunch and dinner. The food is great and the service is fast. I definitely recommend anyone to stop and try this place out. Even if it’s just for a quick stop.

Headed home from Vegas with my husband on our honeymoon & randomly pulled off to find this restaurant in this small town. Staff was very polite/welcoming & food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend if traveling near by👌

For a very small desert town, The Twenty Mule Cafe was surprisingly very good. Everything was fresh, not frozen. The food definitely had a homemade feel. Would definitely stop in here again if ever in Boron, California. Really nice little place.

I've tried their burritos, and burgers, and they are great, prices are decent, my only complaint is that sometimes if you don't ask for your drink, the cashier won't give you one.other than that the staff is friendly.
