I don't understand how this place stays in business. I went in today, Saturday for a brunch for two with mimosas package from Groupon.

Went in without any expectations and was blown away by the quality and value. At this price point, i felt like i was robbing the store.

Ordered the Fish and Chips and Full Irish Breakfast, and both were very satsifying. The Fish and Chips were some of the best I had. The cod was crisp and light on the outside and moist and tender on the inside, and the chips were unlike any I had before.

Will definitely return.

At Macallans and having a great time with the guys. Drinks and food were great. Plenty to choose from. They had a roaming magician, Eric who cracked everyone up with his routine. Everyone was talking about him after he left trying to figure out how he did it. Looking forward to a return visit.,

My first time at this place stop in for a nightcap. Bartender asked me to move for other people at the bar they knew. After 10pm was a younger loud party crowd. Had a not so good encounter with a young man at the bar.

Food is great. Come here a lot on travel for work. The first few times it was great. Any time one of the waitresses is put at our table, we get trash service. All the dudes are great, but consistently the women are horrible at caring for their tables. We come to drink here and when in an hour we can’t get more than 2 drinks, they’re doing something wrong.

The restaurant is in a private area behind the mall. There is plenty of parking for all with a parking structure right across the street. The restaurant is small but cozy. You can have a family and group dinner there. The food is good and does range over $10. There’s a good beer selection and alcoholic drinks to satisfy the palate. The waiters are friendly and don’t push to hurry and eat. The place is clean and the bathrooms too. There’s nostalgia all around and big screen tv to watch sports. There’s a nice size bar and out door dining too.

Service was horrible. Waited 30 minutes for my 2nd beer which took 30 minutes. The restaurant was half full, so not busy at all. After my drink came out, it was covered in what looked like tajin and seasoning from the previous person who drank it. The food was not good. I ordered corn beef and hash. The potatoes came out burnt, the corned beef was flavorless.

I met my Bestie & family for a birthday celebration 🎂 the server took our order & failed to put one of the ordes in. The server never came back to replenish our drinks or even ask us how the food was or if we needed anything. A cake was brought in to celebrate & the server new that, never bothered to ask if we needed a knife or plates. When the bill came the server added his gratuity into the bill. We were only a table of six. When it was brought to the server's attention he proceeded to argue the point that he gave us good service in front of other customers. The Manager came to our table & offerred gift cards to make up for the poor service & the gratuity. Why should the server get a gratuity of $80 plus when the service was horrible. Some places add in the gratuity depending on the size of your party, considering he didn't even put in one of the orders why should he put in the amount of gratuity he should receive. Thats not for him to decide in this situation. I have been to this place a couple of times before & the service was good. This time it was bad. Perception is everything & they more than failed.

This spot has an incredible selection of spirits. We started with the World Traveler whiskey flight, followed by a few neat whiskey drinks. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the live music was a great bonus. In a fun twist, a couple on a first date joined our table because their date wasn’t going well. On a trip to the ladies' room, I stumbled upon a charming phone booth, only to discover it was actually a hidden speakeasy! No one at my table believed me until the person I saw enter walked past us. Eventually, we were allowed in with a small entrance fee since it’s a members-only speakeasy. We enjoyed another whiskey drink and even shared a cigar before heading to the next bar. I’ll definitely be back for the impressive whiskey selection and great entertainment!

Fun pub/restaurant!! Everyone was extremely nice. Our waiter could have checked on us a bit more often....but the atmosphere was very pleasant. It's a very cool place!

The only negative is the women's bathroom was pretty messy. I heard the men's bathroom was pretty clean tho.

Nachos were ok. The pasta with chicken was very good 👍. Definitely recommend the pasta and chicken.

Hung out on a Sunday and we enjoyed the karaoke. Great sound system. Kool KJ....fun guy!!

We shall return. I believe this will be our new go to on a Sunday evening.

Fun place to hang out in Brea. The service in my experience has always been great.

Food was ok, the barbacoa nachos didn't suit my taste. The shishito peppers were darn good but the poutine is ungodly, don't dare. They have one of the best selection of whiskey but could do better on beer. The bartenders do their best amid all the chaos. It gets loud and exuberant in the evenings, whether it's the music or people. Drinks are priced a little higher when compared to some downtown Fullerton spots. They may close early on slow days so don't bank on Google reported hours.
Could house the door on warmer days..

Been here a couple of times. Weekend brunch can get pretty packed, but what do you expect from a good pub with a huge food and drink selection and great atmosphere. Came here before for happy hour too, the bread pudding was good. They have a great whisky flight selection too if you wanna try a bit of everything. They have a whisky list too, which is nice so I don't keep on troubling the bartender. Staffs are very friendly, bartender is also very friendly (at least when I was there).
It's one of those place that you think is gonna be loud but it isn't. I can drink and hear my friends, which is pretty rare and a very nice find. Would I come back? If you're reading this, I'm probably on my way there right now.

We made plans to attend the tacos and tequila on Tuesday night. The attending tequila vendor came and promptly gave our table a shot and explained the tequila served which was great. We were confused when it came to the tacos since when I mentioned it to our server he looked confused and at a loss as to why I would be asking for tacos. I said is tonight not taco night? His reply was We can make you some….but we only have two types…..so I we were confused why there would be a taco and tequila night with no real choice or explanation as to why no tacos? Is this like an anti taco night orrrrrrrr IDK!! so we finished our drinks and left to seek our taco cravings elsewhere….. am I the only one who has noticed this??

I've been coming here for years , all with good experience...until now. Came I'm with my wife on Tuesday. Sat at bar where 3 or 4 people were seated. Bar was not picked up from customers before.. we were ignored by bartender for 15 minutes until we get his attention and asked for drinks.. 10 min later drinks arrived , and we politely asked to pick up the table and were told that he was busy making our drinks, before he cleaned up the table . Fare enough... 10 min passed he still didn't get back and on our request that drinks were not good he replies to leave and not come back. !!
That's a great service and he called himself manager and named from the other great bartender that works there JC. Very disappointing, people with attitude should not work with customers , spoil experience and bring the place rating down.
If Dug the so called manager is worker , he belongs in fast food place , if he is really "manager" he called himself, this place is doomed and will sink.

Read 1 star reviews , they are true, read replies from owner, rude and unprofessional, going after all customers they did wrong... save yourself headaches, take your business elsewhere, there is lots of truly nice places.

Had a Groupon for brunch for 2 with bottomless mimosas. It also included coffee and dessert for $50.84. That did not include tax, fees, and mandatory 20% tip on the non-discounted $90 "value".
We both got the All American which was described as scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and texas toast. What we got looked like eggs poured from a carton and cooked, greasy hash brown rectangle (like the ones you can buy in bulk from Smart and Final), only two pieces of bacon, and two triangles of texas toast. This was served on a plastic plate that would spin around on the table when trying to get a bite on your fork. If you want decaf coffee, you won't find any here. OJ for two people for the mimosa was served in a regular 12 oz. glass. (If there are four people, they'll give it to you in a carafe.) Then you can pour into the PLASTIC 6 oz glasses provided for the mimosas. It was 10am Sunday, and the place only had people at 2-3 other tables, but we had to ask the server to come over to take care of us a couple of times. We were totally disappointed by everything. We picked coffee cake for dessert. The small dense square was served cold with a dollop of whipped cream. We took it to go and got out of there. Obviously, I do not recommend this place and will never go again.

Nice little bar, great layout, food looked good but I didn't try any!

On Wednesday, the entertainment was a two-man band, assisted by a recording track --- a bass player, a sax/flutist and a female singer.

I have never witnessed a vocalist eating in between songs, sitting on a stool for an overwhelming majority of the show and reading lyrics off her iPhone!

REALLY? Really!

I got an idea --- feed the girl before she performs . . . or better yet --- get someone else!

Also there was a birthday party that night with no area to cut a rug!

But I'll return, hopefully a new vocalist will too!

TL;DR If you're coming with a printed Groupon, don't bother.

I received this Groupon for Christmas because my in-laws enjoyed their experience here. We made reservations for today (2/5/23) and when we arrived we were seated promptly. We put the printed Groupon on the table to make things easier for our server to know we were there for the brunch special. We were greeted by our server Bernie who politely suggested we put in our order right away because a large party arrived right after us. The moment he saw the printed Groupon is when everything changed.

His attitude changed to passive aggressive and said that they had been experiencing a lot of fraud with Groupon. He proceeded to tell us that the printed Groupon was insufficient and that we had to have the Groupon redeemed in the app. I proceeded to ask him what he wanted us to do since we drove an hour here and it wasn't feasible to have my in-laws come there to show him. This apparently triggered him and he became defensive claiming that he never said that and that you should call or text them to send you a screenshot from the app. This didn't make any sense to me, but I agreed to his request and said we would do so. We obtained a screenshot from the app, which contained the exact same bar code and set of numbers for redemption.

My wife and I were both pretty upset about the whole situation at this point and asked to speak with the manager to a passing waiter. Bernie returns and reiterates what he said previously. Shortly after JT arrives, apparently the manager now, saying that he would get us sorted out. So now with a printed Groupon and the screenshot on my wife's phone, he asks if he can take them both to go "sort it out".

He eventually brings them both back and reassures us that he'll sort it out once we're done. We are at this point assigned a new waitress, Faith. She asked how everything was and my wife mentioned that her protein bowl did not have sausage or bacon in it. Faith said that it doesn't come with that, but the menu clearly says otherwise. We were finished with our brunch and mimosas, so she takes the Groupon and writes down the number and asks what name it was purchased under like it was no big deal. We were just about to leave when JT returns with a ripped in half printed Groupon and informs me that in the future we can only accept Groupon from the app. He just had to get the last word in to make us feel like we did something wrong.

I have no idea what your issue is with Groupon but you most certainly can't take it out on your customers. The way my wife and I were treated today was absolutely unacceptable.

What a disappointment! When an Irish pub cannot make an Irish coffee, that's sad. First one was cold- returned. Second one was poured into a coffee mug, still only one shot of whiskey and still the coffee was cold. It was also returned. I had the cottage pie, which was tasty but dry. No gravy what-so-ever. They used to be pretty good. Sad decline.

Absolutely delicious! I went here on a whim and I was so surprised. Usually I'm not a huge fan of English/Irish cuisine, but this... I loved!

We had the Brussel sprouts appetizers, it was a perfect balance of sweet balsamic, bitter sprouts, and fatty from the bacon. Literally melt in your mouth!

My friend had the Rueben sandwich, he said he isn't a fan of corned beef or Swiss, but he thought it was exquisite. The chips (fries) were his favorite part. They were seasoned well with salt, pepper, and a hint of garlic

I had the lamb ragu, it was very gamey and rich. The noodles were a perfect al dante. It was balanced well with the acidity of the tomato.

We wrapped our meal up with Creme Brule, which was an absolute treat! It was not too sweet and the blueberries were so juicy.

A gem in Brea city, tasty food and many options of whiskey, if you a whiskey lover this is the place you should go. And they also have live music on a Wednesday night, great ambience and vibe.

I have lived in Brea ever since I was a kid (early 1990s) and have seen this location change ownership at least 3 times.

I moved to Huntington Beach about 7 years ago and recently moved back to buy a house with my wife.

We love Irish bars and decided to go this one after work one evening.

When we arrived I walked in to scope out where we wanted to sit and we were quickly seated.

This is when everything took a turn for the worse.

The booth right next to us was seated about 5 minutes after we were seated.
That's when I noticed a gentleman (who I assume was a manager) immediately greeted the two woman who sat, took their drink orders, and proceeded back to the bar to also make their drinks. I was obviously a bit irked by this as we should have received service before this other table. What's more to mention is I saw this man also sit with this table and drink with them as well, and subsequently the same with another table, while also making additional drinks at the bar. For VIP customers I guess? Maybe there's a special club I don't know about.

Furthermore, our waitress was just ok. She greeted us happily but that's about as far as this courtesy was giving. We flagged her down a couple times to order food items and this clearly annoyed her. We even apologized for the inconveniences.

The drinks we ordered took way to long to make (multiple rounds). Maybe If the gentleman making drinks for "special" tables had helped, they would have been expedited.

Lastly, as we were getting the check a couple of older men appeared and greeted the women at the booth next to us (the same as the booth from earlier). I'm guessing these 2 men were the owners and they definitely behaved as they owned the joint. They did not sit at the booth with the women but were hovering around and crowding the walkway while conversing with the women. One of the men was over 6'4" and was not a "Slim Jim." As we were leaving we said excuse us but the gentleman was too important to make room. He shifted over a few inches, making us squeeze by uncomfortably.

Overall, the food was ok, the live music was a nice touch, but the entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

We did a Groupon with all you can drink mimosas ,brunch with a dessert included. It was very reasonable and food was pretty decent for what can be expected from a pub. The atmosphere is the highlight. I had the Breakfast burrito and the wife had the breakfast burger and coffee cake for desert. I would say overall a positive experience. Service was decent.

Last minute plan and boy was it good. Bernie our server was on point. My fish and chips were so delicious. Not overly greasy. Their chips are amazing too! A lot of food. My husband loved the mussels! Tasty. We are going back Thursday with friends for The Chef Table. Check it out on Groupon.

Gabriela was an excellent server! The fish and chips was delicious, & the Irish wrap that my friend had looked great! My friends said their bread pudding was a bit dry, but they seemed to like everything else. Good atmosphere to celebrate a New Year's Eve day. 😃🎉

Went out with my husband, his sister and her husband, we walked past and turned back because this place looked so promising. We were promptly greeted, asking is we preferred inside or outside by a heater, it was cold, but since she said heater we opted for whatever was available. There was a heater that was obviously working by another table, and the one by our table didn't even have a canister of propane! We asked to be moved inside and ordered drinks. The husbands got Modelo and some equally cheap beer, only because it was on tap and had two CANS delivered. Apparently they were out of nitrogen but no one mentioned this. One cocktail was soda water based and also was completely flat with no warning! They did take that one off the bill. The place looked really nice, had a fantastic whiskey selection, ambiance was probably fine, we were just highly disappointed with being misled about the heater and subpar drinks.

We drove from San Diego to attend a Christmas dinner at Macallans. It was a great choice. The food was far beyond what we expected. Because there was 15 people the organizer chose the "Chef's Table". We were served a signature cocktail, tapas-style appetizers like shrimp scampi, small spring-greens salad. The entree was Rack of lamb. Finished off with Irish coffee and creme Brule. The service was great, although the tables for our large party were not set up until the last minute, so the arrangement was haphazard. The only thing that caused us to leave was a loud jazz band that set up so conversation was not possible.

Update: we came here for drinks and dinner my birthday last month on the 19th and what a perfect atmosphere it was! The Christmas decorations were beautiful, they had a live singer singing folk music, the USC and UCLA game was on, our waitress was fantastic (apologies I forgot her name) and once she found out it was my birthday she kindly brought me a shot and a sparkler to celebrate! I just love coming here and always so happy with the service and food!

We were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary and decided to try Macallans in Downtown Brea. The restaurant is inviting, great and large selection of whiskey, great music, great food but best of all great service! Our waiter Sam aka Swat lol was spectacular! I asked him to take a picture of us since we were celebrating and next thing I know he brought champagne for us to enjoy as well as dessert at the end our meal. He was absolutely kind and so sweet and when I asked why he is called Swat he told us it was because he would swat shots in basketball and it all made sense (he’s very tall lol). All in all we had an excellent experience and we’re so happy to find a welcoming restaurant and bar close to home and will definitely be back!!

This is a great little spot to grab some good food and some great drinks. If you're into whiskey or Scotch they have over 400 of them to choose from. They're whiskey flights are definitely worth a look. Comfortable atmosphere, they have live music. Sometimes. When I was there they had a violinist who was phenomenal. The wait staff is amazing and everybody is friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Would definitely recommend!
