I was disappointed the 2nd time visiting this place. We went for Brunch. I wasn t going to write this review but I m still a little pissed off . The food was so-so, I ordered a pumpkin pancake and a regular latte. Honestly the Latte was barely room temperature. I hesitantly told the waiter. He was pleasant and said he would get me a hot one. Then some extremely rude lady brought the same latte back 1/4 way drank , and said she reheated it. Well it was still room temperature. I just ordered a coffee from the waiter, and let it go. But I won t be back. Thank you mean latte lady

Been here about 2 times and will keep coming back. The manager is nice and came by to ask us how we were doing. The waiters are so sweet so Tip them Big because when someone is serving you thats the right thing... barbers, servers, bartenders...they live off their tips in this expensive california. The food was On Point!!! The atmosphere is beautiful then your able to go to the Brea mall across the street. The price matchs the quality and no resteraunt is perfect. My husband and I come from Rancho Cucamonga to come here for Breakfast because its the BOMB. The Eggs Benedict with salmon OMYGOSH the only place who do it Right. PeriodT. I see just a few bad reviews but people dont realize every resteraunt is expensive now in inflation and also even when we go my husband and I notice rude customers that complain over the smallest thing. That orange county entitlement attitude... Dont be a Karen and Have fun at this bomb spot!! Not everything is perfect.

Been here a few times - love that you can add eggs as a side. However, I just came over for lunch at 2 12 p.m., and the front door was locked. It says 3 pm on the door and online. An employee leaving the front said I dont know, when I asked if they were open. Frustrating.

Hate to say but this is a great atmosphere location but the food is lacking. Came for brunch. Ordered a good amount of food with 2 minor asks. The orders got messed up and those 2 asks went to the wrong food. The waiter fixed it but I dislike the food coming out at drastically different times. Maple Bacon waffle didnt taste very maple-ly. Regular waffle had no real flavor. Both 4.6/10. The potatoes had no flavor 2.8/10. The eggs were scrambled hard by default but also no flavor 4.9/10. The upside was the amount given. Bacon was dry but the best tasting at 5.4/10. The unicorn drink was not worth the hype or price. Its color changing non sweetened powder. It was mildly flavored water but not sweetened 1.3/10. Overall food 4.2/10. Location and atmosphere 7.4/10 (it does get loud with more ppl) and staff was 8.2/10.

Visited on Monday for brunch, so it was very slow. Server, Andrew, was very nice and attentive. Espresso martinis were good. The green juice cocktail was well made and delicious. Rib eye chilaquiles were really good--i liked the green more than the red and would split the plate next time. Wifes Denver omlette was good, hash brown chips addictive. 2 entrees, 3 cocktails, $105 plus tip........ on the pricey side, but we enjoyed it. Looking forward to going back with the kids to try the kids menu. Cheers!

This was pretty miserable experience for my group. We waited 30+ minutes for them to take our order after we sat down and the food was overcooked and cold. For a restaurant that puts gratuity in the bill, the service overall didn t meet even an average expectation.

This review will be swift. Toast Kitchen & Bar is a brunch restaurant in Brea. Their interior and atmosphere vibe were great, however, their food and drink were banal and mediocre. Similarly, my Veggie omelet s side order was mixed up from Sourdough to Potatoes. But that s fine because I was really hungry. Service was modest. Staff were affable. Prices were pricey. Plenty of parking space. Overall, I didn t enjoy my brunch.

Misleading Ratings Our Experience Was Far From Positive From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear that the high ratings were misleading. The restaurant was dirty and had an unpleasant odor. The floors were filthy, and most tables were cluttered with leftover food that hadn t been cleaned up. Even the restrooms were gross, adding to the overall unhygienic environment. Despite the poor first impression, we decided to give it a chance. I ordered the sourdough avocado toast, but what I received was not sourdough at all. The bread was soggy and tasteless. The hash brown potatoes were nothing more than overly fried, greasy fries, definitely not what was described. The only redeeming factor was the rose latte, which was quite good. Overall, this was the worst brunch experience I ve ever had. I strongly recommend skipping this place if you can its definitely not worth it.

Wonderful place to eat at. Service is on point , food is delicious and it s such a nice place to have a nice time with family. The French toast was so good and the omelettes. I will definitely go back and eat here. Wish they had one closer to my house. But I m willing to drive to Brea. Definitely a 10/10.

I ventured into Toast Kitchen in Brea, hoping for a sunny start to my day. But, oh no! The hostess greeted me with a chill worthy of Kim Kardashians icy stare. I asked if she wanted my number, and she gave me a look that said, Uh, no thanks, Im good. Instead of call me for our table. She yelled our name. The 30-minute wait wasnt a deal-breaker, but the flavorless breakfast burrito and soggy potatoes? That was a different story. And dont even get me started on the fresh fruit - strawberries that were still thawing and icy, yet somehow still managed to be soggy. It was like they were trying to confuse my taste buds! Maybe they need a manager whos more than just toast?

Underwhelming, could use a better manager. The table wasn t properly bussed when we were sat and the bathroom smelled and was dirty. I brought it to the managers attention as she was at the host stand on the way back to my table and and she shrugged me off when i mentioned it. Food was good but wasn t exceptional. I had the filet mignon Benedict.

This was our first experience and my boyfriend, and I were disappointed. As walk-ins we were greeted and welcomed but once we sat down the waiting staff forgot that we were there. After some time, we approached the manager for service and were rudely addressed for simply asking if we may place our food order. The espresso martini wouldnt recommend but the Italian old fashion twist would give a try if adventure is your taste. Food unfortunately wasnt amazing either. Sad to say that Toast will not be making our rotational list of restaurants that we visit.

100% very disappointed on the quality of the food. The portions were spot on. The service was excellent. We ordered spicy watermelon Margarita, this drink was so bad. Tasted like a water downed skinny spicy watermelon Margarita drink. One sip was all that was taken. I should of returned it back to the waiter but didnt. I ordered denver omelet, was tasy and afterwards got a gross nauseous feeling. Good thing after 5min it passed right over me . Will not be returning, even if I get free meal vouchers. Perhaps it was just very busy, but the service was very slow on a Saturday around 11am. The wait wasnt too long, but our server took a while to take out order. We were sat with trash still on our table which was immediately removed by our server as he arrived because even he knew thats unacceptable. What was very surprising was that our order of benedict was ready in less than 5 minutes. It was so fast that it arrived before our request for water. We deduced by the temperature of the food that it was probably someone elses unwanted order. Plus, how the .... can poached egg, bacon, sauteed potatoes be prepared and plated in less than 5 minutes? Large parking lot shared with a hotel. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. It felt spacious with its high ceilings and less noisy than other brunch spots though still good to make reservations on the weekend. Chilaquiles Strawberry cheesecake French Toast- loved that there was plenty of fresh strawberries and the cheesecake which was like a fluffy cream cheese was tasty. The French toast was thick. Breakfast Burrito- I liked the mildly spicy green sauce that went on it. The burrito was a bit too greasy. Today we had lunch with my mom to celebrate her hospital release. Well, the food we got was below par. Bacon cooked yesterday and over dried. Thin terrible potato chips, drained in oil! We wanted to send it back, we are tired from hospital. Didnt want to argue, thinking that once we told the manager about it, that dish will be comped. No! She just says take it to go and charges full price. Didnt offer replacement or comp it. So now I have an example of that burrito to dissect. So not so fun, we werent treated with compassion.

My wife recommended this place to go have brunch. Was excited initially since she told me great things. Once we arrived, we got seated pretty quickly. Mind you, it was a Wednesday at 10:45 am so the place was almost empty. My wife had an idea of what she wanted. I, on the other hand, I wanted a burger. When I put my order in, the waitress literally tells me that they cant give me a burger since it wasnt 11 am. What kind of place doesnt serve the food on their menu when they close at 3 pm? DONT EAT HERE EVER! AT THE END WE PAID AROUND 35$ JUST FOR MY WIFES FOOD SINCE I DIDNT GET ANYTHING ELSE. WE WOULD OF HAD A BETTER EXPERIENCE EATING AT OLIVE GARDEN ACROSS THE STREET THAN IN THIS PLACE.

This was at least a 5 experience I have only had breakfast here because Im a big fan of their eggs benedict. Today I was in the mood for the filet mignon w/Bernaise sauce. It was very good. However, next time I will request the filet to be medium rather well done. Usually get the more traditional benny one with the shoulder ham that I can get only here. A very tasty style bacon which I really prefer. The times we have come, we have been blessed with outstanding servers, especially today (See picture). He has a very unique name that I unfortunately forgot how to pronounce let alone spell. What a top notch individual, very professional, friendly and an absolute delight! We had just returned from 5 glorious days in Santa Barbara eating at the best it had to offer. Thought when we got back home it would be the end of being pampered. I was wrong. In my opinion, you should have a better rating at least a 4.5. It was our first meal back. Not dissapointed! You hit it out of the park! Thank you for a wonderful welcome home. I also want mention Your manager, and I am sorry, i should have asked for her card. She deserves our kudos as well for hiring the best. Thank you! Regarding the front desk, one individual I spoke to on the phone today at 10:30ish could have been a little bit friendlier and helpful. I called to inform someone that we might be a bit late by 10 minutes for our 11:30 a.m reservation and he told me to just come and youll be seated. When we arrived on time, the two young ladies at the desk though very busy, were quick, efficient and charming under very adverse conditions. Judging by the chaotic activity at the entrance I have a better understanding that he was probably helping out with the phones. Everything worked out fine. We were, in fact, seated immediately. Our server was calming and very pleasant to talk to.

My partner and I came here for Sunday brunch. We made reservations so we were seated quickly. After being seated it was very difficult to get the attention of our server. Once we were able to order, our food did not take long. It took around 30 minutes to get our check to leave. We did order a watermelon margarita that was one of the best drinks I have had. The flavors were perfectly balanced. We were recommended the Eggs Benedict by a friend. I am a big fan of the dish but both mine and my partners plates were very under seasoned. I found myself drowning the dish in salt and hot sauce. I was disappointed as this was something I was looking forward to. The prices are far for a brunch location but I would expect much better food for the prices and hype around this location. Overall I would not return.

I was a lone black women for lunch around noon to 12:30 hour today. The dining room was approx 40% full with plenty visual tables open for 1, 2 or 4 persons. The young red haired greeter today walked me pass all the open tables to the very back of the dining room and sat me behind a partition out of site. Not a person around at all just the kitchen. Now, I don t know if that was just her ignorance or otherwise I just know how it made me feel today not good at all. The saving grace was the waiter walking by at the same time I was just leaving mad and offered me a better seat at the window as he knew it was wrong and saw the perplexed looked on my face. Management please do a better job at culture sensitivity training at your establishment. My waiter was awesome!!

Giving the food 1 star because it made me extremely sick to my stomach for a few hours after eating there. My husband ordered the burger, he said it was just okay, I had eggs Benedict with the steak and salad. My salad tasted like it had no dressing so just straight Arugula. And my steak .. omg. One bite and I was feeling ick, but I thought it was just me and maybe it just needed flavor and I shouldn t complain but another bite and I promise you steak was bad meat. I was so darn disgusted and I kept burping it up after about to puke and the smell and taste just kept coming up. I wanted to throw up. 4 stars for service because my server took it off the bill and was very understanding. But that was the worst breakfast in my honest opinion and as someone who used to be a cook , that steak was absolutely bad. This was today and I am still feeling my stomach hurting and the smell of it coming back up, hopefully it doesn t get any worse and some tums will help relieve this.

Our unlucky? first experience at Toast This review is meant to be constructive and in no way derogatory of Toast. It seems like it can be a great place. I wanted to contact the owner or someone directly instead of putting this out there, but I see no way of contacting anyone, so here it goes... My girlfriend and I were very excited to try Toast. It seemed to have great reviews, weve heard great things from friends, and the place looked nice in pictures. We finally decided to make a reservation and come in this morning. Our excitement was immediately met with a very impatient and a little bit of a rude host. We practically had to chase him to our table. It was like he meant to say, follow me to your table...IF YOU CAN! as he charged away. When we got to our table, it was immediately clear it hadnt been cleaned. There was dry yolk on the table and crums all over the seats. I used a menu to dust our seats clean. There was dried up something on the wall beside me, and a dirty burnt up candle with an old French fry inside of it to compliment the ambiance. The baseboards along the booths had dirt and grime gathered up against them. The place was just filthy. Despite these things appearing like theyd been there for weeks (if not longer), we figured its Saturday, its busy. Lets give them the benefit of the doubt and see what happens. We got a couple of coffees and glasses of water. The water glasses had dried food stuck to the outside of them. Despite ALL OF THIS, we hung in there and ordered a few eggs benedicts. The food came out pretty quickly, but when it did, the eggs were cold! I couldnt believe it! It seemed like they came out too quickly to be this cold. It was at this point I gave up. Was it our unlucky day at Toast? Maybe. But this was a whole lot of bad for a single experience. I dont think Ill be willing to give it another try, at least for a very long time, anyway. Ill give credit where credit is due, though. The presentation of the food was gorgeous and it probably would have tasted good too if it wasnt so cold. The staff was MOSTLY friendly. I feel like Toast may have some small changes to make to get back on track. I definitely see the potential of this place. A weird experience for sure. We went to IHOP afterwards (LOL). The food wasnt as pretty, but the establishment was cleaner and the food was hot.

We went on the weekend, there was a line so I checked in at the door (there were two girls with tablets checking people in) and was told our table should be ready in 20 minutes. I was made to wait more than an hour - I went up multiple times to check if my name was already called and the girls only told me just wait and our table would be ready, and did not even bother to ask what my name was. I felt ignored, but by then I had already waited 45 minute so I decided to wait. After over an hour, a different girl was at the entrance so I went up to her and told her we had been waiting for over an hour. Only then did they let us in. They dont seem to have people with good communication/customer service skills at the entrance. Food was OK but I was in no mood to really enjoy their food. There is no food that is worth an 1 hour and 15 minute wait. We arrived at the location at 11:30 a.m. and by the time we were done with our food it was 1:40 p.m., and we werent let in until 12:45 p.m. Maybe it was a fluke but we probably will never go back to this place.

Parking: They have a good sized lot. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu.

Went to Toast upon looking for a brunch place for visiting family. I made a reservation which is highly recommended as this place was busy by 1030am on a Saturday. Food was good all around. I ordered the eggs Benedict and the yolk was perfectly runny which is how I like it. I ordered the Moscow Mule which was beautifully presented. Service was excellent and overall atmosphere was nice. The place is spacious with ample parking. Make a reservation and you will have a better experience. Highly recommend!

Its almost like this restaurant completely gave up, what used to be packed was quite empty for lunch. There was a hair in my food, error after error, and poor service all around. As soon as we were seated the nightmare started. We were seated in a table that was broken, the lightest touch and tilted like a seesaw. The hostess gave us attitude just for asking to be moved. Then came one of the worst waitresses I have ever encountered (receipt said name was Evan but not sure). After a long wait she finally showed up. Our party of 3 all asked for water, waitress only brought one water? Asked for water again but waitress forgot again. Weve now been waiting quite a while and waitress finally asks for our drink order, so we order drinks and say we are ready to order food. Waitress says she cant take the food order yet? what?! And that shell be back, proceeds to disappear. Drinks dont come out for 15 minutes and waitress doesnt show up once. Finally waitress comes to take the order, she repeats the order twice incorrectly. Part of order does come promptly but waitress put in the wrong order (potato crisps instead of country potatoes). Have to flag her down to address it and ask for water AGAIN. Finally my meal comes last, theres a GIANT HAIR across my breakfast sandwich. Of course waitress is missing again. After 5 minutes of waiting, i get up and go find her myself, I explain the situation and she says shell be right there. Waitress proceeds to walk past our table and take another parties order, take payment from another table, and actively ignoring us. Everyone is almost done eating and I am still sitting with a plate with a hair in front of me. No offer to remake it, no offer for another item, just ignored. I get up and request a manager. When the manager shows up im heated and complaining at the lack of service/food/errors. Waitress proceeds to walk up and lie, says she did address the hair with me but no manager was around? What??!!! Also tells the manager look theres a glass of water on the table so whats the issue? Manager was just as incompetent. First question manager asked was do you want to keep the plate or would you like me to remake it? Who would say yes I want to eat the food with hair in it thats been sitting untouched for what was probably 15 minutes? Manager completely ignores and fails to address the service complaints. Replacement plate took just as long to make yet it looked like it was microwaved (limp yet steaming croissant sandwich). Manager then says I took the sandwich off your bill and I also took the replacement sandwich off So she was going to charge me for both?? Oh and at the time the replacement showed up is when the Country Potato finally showed up for the error the waitress first made. Manager did not assign another waitress to us and old waitress continued to completely ignore us. Yet found it in her heart to show up for payment and sarcastically say she hopes we had a great time and service...

The food came out 5 min after ordering and all four meals were cold. The food must not be made to order. We had to send all four meals back as it was room temp not hot. Came out a second time cold . The manager came over and claimed the food isn t sitting around I find that hard to believe. Perhaps it s premade it s hard to eat cold poached eggs. Perhaps if you choose to dine here you should order something that is cold like a sandwhich. The manager took 20% off the bill. Our party tipped our waitress off the total bill before the discount. She was excellent. We won t be back.

I was pleasantly surprised with some of the food and service! The only thing I didn t like is how noisy it was. Because it has a big area like a warehouse you hear echoes and kids screaming bloody murder so it makes your brunch or lunch not as pleasant. You have to cover your ears. Other than that I think pricing was a bit pricey but the food was overall good. We had the sliders, avocado toast which comes with some hash brown style potatoes and those were burnt and dry. I don t remember the other names but I will go back and hopefully we don t have kids screaming right next to us.

I dont get it. This place was nothing special. Felt like a glorified IHOP. Sure it looked a little fancy, but the flavors were not any better. For the price I would have expected much higher quality. Things like pre packaged jams and jelly instead of house made is not really good at this price point. The ingredients did not seem very high quality overall. Hash browns were dry and bland. Omelette was not flavorful. Toast was just toast. Bread was not very high quality. It wasnt awful, but it definitely was not upscale as the price would have you think. We all left feeling meh.

Ive been here twice with my family and both times were just ok. The food feels overpriced for the quality you get. It has been extremely loud and crowded both times we were here, to the point were we could not hear each other at the table. The staff was friendly but a bit disorganized and scrambled, probably because they were swamped. We have decided to pick a new brunch spot moving forward so we can actually visit with each other.

This is a great cheerful breakfast spot. We visited on vacation and were immediately greeted warmly at the front door. The menu has a lot to offer and we all left stuffed. I had a Benedict, my son had Nutella toast, eggs, and hash browns. My husband had biscuits and gravy with hash chips which were perfectly crispy without being too hard or crunchy. Service was very fast - we had a great experience. Highly recommend this place for brunch or breakfast.

Cute aesthetically pleasing brunch spot in Brea. I went with a party of five and we did the sign in on Yelp so we just walked in and they sat us down the staff was friendly. The food was OK. The coffee was amazing and I ordered breakfast sandwich. The patty was a combination of beef and chorizo I wish I tasted the chorizo little more served Brioche bun. I wish it was spicier served on potato bread would be a nice touch. They use Lavazza coffee again amazing. I ordered the Mexican Mocha cold brew it was good but couldn t taste it. my cousin ordered it hot order it hot it was way better!!! I Would come back just for the Mexican Mocha.

My family and I had brunch on Easter and we had an amazing experience. I made reservations about 3 weeks before for a party of 9. We arrived about 15 minutes early and we were seated almost immediately. The restaurant is very clean and beautifully setup. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. We asked to split our check and it wasn t a problem. He stopped by several times to check on us even though it was a holiday and busy. We ordered and our food came out super fast and it was delicious. I was so excited to start eating and forgot to take a picture. We ordered surf & turf benedict, biscuits & gravy with scrambled eggs and country potatoes, classic french toast with chocolate sauce and maple bacon waffle with a side of sausage and ham. Portions were big and everything tasted amazing. We will definitely be back again

When I said I was coming here and supporting your place long time , he said that doesn t care. I said so you don t care if your customer will leave? He said No, that s ok. I said and so I will never come back ? He said - it s ok. I am very disappointed with his rude attitude and indifference and it was without any explanation

The breakfast burrito was ok. There was a lot of sausage in it and it was filled well, but it really needs chiles or something more inside it to give it a little punch. The salsa they served with it was not a good substitute and I didnt care for it. The service wasnt very good and felt like once the food came out we were forgotten. By the time one of my party was offered a coffee refill we were ready for the check.

Grabbed brunch with a girlfriend on a weekday at this location. Very spacious interior with plenty of seating, a nice modern and coastal vibe. There were a decent amount of people milling around but service was friendly and fast. Got the breakfast burger while my friend had the Turkey club. The sides were great Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful, and the hash browns were more like crispy potato fry chips. We split the strawberry cheesecake French toast. The toast was kind of dry and overcooked and the cream filling was too sweet for my taste (more like icing). But still an indulgent treat. I think I d try something else on the menu. Brunch was a little pricey but it was a ton of delicious food and a great dining experience overall. There s a nearby park you can walk all the extra calories off lol. So splurge a bit!
