Brea’s Best Burgers

I’ve lived in Brea for over 15 years so I have gone to Brea’s Best many times over the years. I’d say the quality of the food is not the same. Their burger was bland, without even salt and pepper. Ketchup and mustard couldn’t help it. It tastes like frozen burger patties that are overcooked. Not juicy at all. Their beef hotdog wasn’t very juicy and was bland as well. Maybe if they added it to the grill top?! For both, a little overpriced. Their breakfast burritos are pretty good. I wish they gave more salsa.

The dining area is decorated in a 50’s theme. The customer service could be friendlier.

The food is very good. The Pastrami sandwich is awesome. The also offer healthy and vegan meals.

The prices are very good. The restaurant is clean and service is also very good.

I highly recommend Brea's best. It has the 1950s touch and it's just simply a fantastic Mom and Pop dinner!

Always loved this place until today.
Ordered patti melt combo.
It came much latern than people who ordered after me and I don’t know what they did with patti melt but it was cold, patti tasting weird, and no caramelized onions as usual. They made me a new one for me but still not the same patti melt I eat every other week. It was exactly like the first one they made for me. I don’t know if the cook is changed and the cook doesn’t know how to make patti melt. Look at the picture.

Finally got to visit this diner. I was amazed at how delicious the pastrami breakfast burrito is. I've never had one with pastrami, and it did not disappoint. Will be back the next time I'm in the area!

So pleasantly surprised by this place, was a walking distance away from the where i was staying and had seasoned burgers, homemade ranch, and it was so good I went back for breakfast and had an amazing breakfast burrito.

I love the breakfast burritos from here especially when you add the chipotle cream in them the flavor is amazing they are a little heavy on the potatoes. To each there own. I like the hercules burrito but it is a monster of a burrito. Definitely a must try.

Food used to be good when i was a kid. Been coming here for over 10 years. I will never go again. The food has gone downhill hard. Their hercules burrito used to be my favorite. Now its full of potatoes and just sucks. Burgers suck too. Owner looked at my sister in a very unprofessional way when she went in for a job interview a fww years ago. Dissappinting.

I've been here a few times. The food is okay sometimes and not so good other times. The service needs improvement! Today, they're getting a one-star because usually, when I come here, the cashier has me sign the receipt when I use my card. Well, today, a different person took my order, and she hurried and put the store copy of the receipt in the drawer instead of having me sign it. Then I reached my hand out to get my copy, so she asks "oh you want the receipt?" Uhm, yes, I do! She charged my card $12 for one Asada taco that actually costs $5... so beware when you come here because she thought I was not paying attention and that she would get away with stealing money. This will definitely be my last time going here! After she gave me $6 back in cash now she wants me to sign the $12 receipt. That's how I know it was done intentionally. Watch out for scammers!

Place is garbage now! Lived in brea for past 30yrs and it was the go to! Not anymore! Spent $50 on 2 burgers, 2 patty melts and fries! Felt it was a mistake and guy took recipe out of trash and read it and said "we don't do 2012 prices anymore"! Food tasted like it was sitting there since 2012 buddy! Owners really drug this place down! They need to take down their sign because "Breas Best" is false advertising! Rather go to choice burgers anyways!

I'm from fort Worth Texas and I come to California for work. This burger is freaking awesome. It's juicy, it cooked perfect, the fries got me. They are so good. These people were so nice with me and very polite and pleasant to talk to. Also the girl mopping who I fell in love with but that's another story. I will be back. Thanks and keep the good job going

Burger was good but had nothing that stands out, tastes like one you’d grill at home. Fries were bland. I was charged 92cents to pay with my debit card. I asked for ranch once the food was brought out but I was told it costs 50cents, won’t be coming back unfortunately.

If you're a fan of nostalgic childhood memories and melted cheese dreams, you might be as disappointed as I am with the new management at Brea's Best. This once beloved burger joint has sadly lost its sizzle. From the first bite of their signature burger to the tantalizing pastrami, it's evident that something has gone awry. It's a shame to also see the walls of the history of Brea fall under the new management to a regular 50 style hamburger joint.

Now, let's address the elephant in the room - the credit card charge. Seriously, Brea's Best? Charging customers for the convenience of using their credit cards? That's like charging a fee for breathing air inside the restaurant. It's a bold move, but one that leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and not the good kind.

Brea's Best is a shadow of its former self. It's a heartbreaking realization to witness your favorite restaurant lose its magic. The melted cheese lacks flavor, the pastrami is a distant memory, and even the once magnificent onion rings have lost their spark. And let's not forget the audacity of charging customers for using their credit cards. It's a tragic tale of a once-great burger joint that has lost its way. Brea's Best may have lost its crown, but there are plenty of other burger joints out there waiting to reignite your taste buds. So you should just change your name to Brea's Burger because you're not the best.

Had a craving for a breakfast burrito and saw they had a pastrami breakfast burrito. Ordered that and zucchini fries. Got home and it's a pastrami sandwich. Lady taking my order must be new cause she took the $20+ order for a breakfast burrito and fries and just stared at the $20 and $5 I put on the counter. Disappointed 🤦🤷‍♂️

We've been stopping here for food for years. Used to be one of our favorite burger spots. I can't give them 5 stars anymore after eating here yesterday. It has REALLY gone downhill. The first thing you notice when you enter is how filthy dirty the floor is. It looks like they haven't cleaned it in days or weeks. Trash is piled up near the entrance (inside left), and the soda machine looks (and is) scary dirty. We ordered, and I added a customary tip to the total. Big mistake. The girl/woman who took our order was not pleasant or friendly. I'd say she was borderline rude. Would it kill you to be nice? Honestly, I wrote this review mostly based on her service, but the other things I mentioned are also things that jumped out at me, so I'm mentioning them as well. The food was different from previous visits. The burgers were cold. They didn't taste fresh. When we asked for sauce or napkins (because the table napkin holder was empty), the employees weren't nice. In fact, the 2 women behind the counter were too busy gossiping to care about the customers in front of them. We felt unwelcome here. We'd never been made to feel that way before. I seriously regret giving them a tip and admonish you to not tip here (or anywhere) until after eating to see if they deserved it!
After eating what we could, my daughter went to use the restroom (they have only 1 restroom for men and women) but came back to the table immediately, wide-eyed. There were feces smeared all over the restroom, used gloves in the sink with feces on them, and a hypodermic drug needle. I thought dirty floors and tables were a problem, but this was TOO MUCH! I'd avoid eating at this restaurant unless your tetanus shot is up to date. We certainly will not be going back. So bad for so many reasons. What a shame they've let the place go.

No drive-thru bc it's FRESH & they cook it as you wait. Doesn't take long. Really have great quality of burgers, fries are really great & my son likes the bacon burgers ( again fresh real food!) Nice people there & it never takes long (about 10 mins for 3 people) The most responsible priced burgers in O.C! Lettuce is the good quality red leafed or Italian green kind - always fresh) Sometimes/Rarely - the tomatoes (which are always cut thick) are a tad greenish on ends,& a little hard - like not quite ripe - this typically happens during winter/cold months) when even the grocery store has the exact same kind! They even have the BEST PIECES OF CHOCOLATE Devils food chocolate cake or carrot cake that's unbelievable! 😋

Use to be our go to. Prices have gone up so much that we only go for a single order of zucchini now. What we use to pay for 2 burger & fries now is the same cost as two zucchini orders We were shocked to pay $15 for 2 orders of zucchini last time. It use to be $4.50 an order!
So instead of a couple burger meals, now when we need a zucchini fix, we just order 1 and share it as a munchie snack.

Was hoping for a better experience. Took my daughter who was in town. Nothing special. The onion rings were a big disappointment. I threw most of them away. ( I never do this) the coating was not good.
Burgers were ok but not in the gourmet burger class.
Service was ok but not what you’d expect for the hype.

Also beware they ding you a fee for using a credit card. Didn’t see anything posted. Thought this was a cheap shot.

Won’t be back….

Stopped for a burger on a Sunday around noon and the burger was without a doubt as good as or better than any other hamburger spot around. I've had some sloppy full of mayo and lettuce sliding out burgers but not here. Bun was perfect veggies were fresh, this place was smaller than your average diner but what's wrong with that. It was very clean, I walked in ordered my food sat down and ate. And I sat in the back by the restroom and it really smelled nice. No bad odor covered up by cheap air freshener, it must have been clean but I did not go in. From my first visit this place is awesome if not ib would not have taken the time to give this place the credit it deserves. Thank you.

The breakfast burritos are huge and made with regular friend potatoes instead of French fries. For some reason I don't care for fries in my burrito. The pancake and egg breakfast is also good. Way better than Denny's pancake breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The salsa for the burritos was excellent. The prices are very reasonable.
