Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

I recently visited Rita’s Frozen Custard in Orange County with a friend, and it was such a great experience! I had a Concrete, and let me just say—the texture and sweetness were absolutely perfect. The creamy frozen custard with the mix-ins made every bite feel indulgent but not overly heavy. It’s honestly one of the best frozen custard treats I’ve had in a long time. My friend opted for a blended smoothie, and they loved it too.

As someone who lives out of the area, I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m nearby. If I were local, this would absolutely be a regular stop for me—especially since I’m a huge fan of ice-based desserts, and Rita’s nails it.

The shop itself was clean, had private parking (which is a huge plus), and wasn’t too crowded when we went. There were plenty of places to sit, so it’s perfect if you want to relax and enjoy your treat. The staff were really nice, which just added to the overall great experience.

If you’re in Orange County and looking for a refreshing dessert, I highly recommend checking out Rita’s. Five out of five stars for both the quality of the treats and the welcoming atmosphere!

It’s been a while since I’ve had Rita’s, so we decided to swing by since we were in the area. I absolutely love their vanilla custard—it’s so thick, creamy, and satisfying.

It’s a shame they’ve closed so many locations because this is the closest one to me now, but it’s always such a treat when I get to have it!

The service was great nice kids but owner can have more people working there. Took over 40 minutes for our turn, and with no AC it felt awful. I had made a promise to my son to get some otherwise I would had left. Owner has to pay attention to these details.

The Ice and Custard are delicious. When we arrived the line was out the door. One girl working very hard and one came from the back and started sweeping. After she saw the customers looking at her like she was crazy she went in the back then came out and helped after 3-4 minutes. Then a man came out who looked like a manager and "messed around" with moving things and wiping stuff then finally started helping. Bad management. I was a hotel GM and recognize poor training and management. Lead by example!!!

Do you like so many choices that it makes your head spin? This is the place for you! Ask for a pup cup if you have a dog! It's not Joe's Italian ice but it's also not straight out the home freezer! You can try as many flavors as you like so you can pick what you actually want! Can't go wrong with the gelati or a concrete!

The treats were all very delicious and surprisingly flavorful. The place was packed and every few minutes who I assume was the manager was thanking everyone for waiting and saying they’d be with us shortly. They got the line down really fast and everyone was courteous. Great experience 10/10, thank you!

Always my favorite spot to go if I'm in the mood for some yummy Italian ice with flavored soft served custard ice cream. This place is worth the try. They have different option to choose from. I always go here if I'm in the city of Fullerton area and there after I go to Laguna Lake to walk around with the family eating out Rita's Custard Icecream.

So my daughter wanted to get a cone but they charge them $10 and he cup is 6.60? Which make no sense, then the ice cream for me is too creamy not my thing. But it still tasted good.

Ice cream is always delicious. Been eating there for years. I was introduced to Rita’s ice cream parlor when I went back Houston Pennsylvania and my husband introduced me to. It had no idea it existed here on the West Coast up until I went to the East Coast.

Rita's is literally the best place if you go there I recommend getting the hand scooped spumoni with the hand scooped Cookie Monster that's two scoops in a large cup then add chocolate chips and pie crust chips!!!! Add cherries if u want the full spumoni experience while skipping the cookie momster

I am sad to day that I was pretty disappointed in the service, food, and atmosphere. I've been to the Murrieta Rita's- 5☆s compared to here. I thought because of the location, it would be amazing. But there weren't many choices, customer service was sluggish (we were the only customers in sight and ordered a small to share.) We honestly should have left, but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. I'd rather have saved the calories and put the $5.89 in my tank. ⛽️ It was an experience though, just would recommend investing in improving these qualities.

I love Italian Ice and made a trip out here just for this and to meet my friend in the area.

There was plenty of parking when we arrived around 5 PM and only one customer sitting inside. The staff explained to us that all of the flavors were made in the store and there weren't any secret menu items. They don't gatekeep great things. Samples are offered, if you're caught frozen in deciding. I went with the Hot Coco and Peach Gelati.

Italian Ice brings back memories of my college days in Riverside eating at Frostbites. The softness of the ice is a joyful sensation. The only thing that was different from my memories is the gelati. The consistency and taste is like thick whipped cream. I prefer a silkier gelati, but overall this dessert satisfied my craving.

Do yourself a flavor and try the gelati. It's soft serve custard with your choice of Italian ice. It's perfect for any day of the year. The ice helps cool you down on a hot day and the soft serve keeps things mellow on a cool day.

First visit here on a Sat night and it was pretty busy, but the line went fast! The employees were patient with everyone's questions and very friendly. My son used the restroom and said it was pleasantly clean and has great light for flexing 💪 lol! Hubby had a vanilla shake, (he said his best shake ever) I had a watermelon ice, and son had a cotton candy Italian ice with custard! We all loved our selections and shared tastes with each other. Definitely going back again!

We have been waiting outside for 30 minutes for the doors to open. Many people (6 families) waiting outside. While waiting a few people mentioned how they waited almost an hour for them to open. We even tried to make eye contact with the young lady to ask how much longer is the wait but she refused to make eye contact and went to the back, behind the double doors. Needles to say we are all leaving. What a shame.
In response to the Owner; My husband and I arrived 10 minutes before 12pm on Saturday. We anticipated the 10 minute wait time. The young lady who opened that morning showed up right after us. Others started arriving at 12 pm. Some with children. We don't expect any shop to open early just because we are outside. in fact we were there for more then 30 minutes I was just rounding of the time. when I Googled your business to put a review the hours showed open but it was not. Everyone waiting agreed that it would have been nice if the employee would have given us an estimate on how much longer the wait would be. We did manage to drive back later that day, and yes we enjoyed the much anticipated Ice cream.

I definitely miss the accessibility of water ice from Pennsylvania. I’m glad that Rita’s is surely making their way west though!
The Gelati is my favorite! Any flavor you get is always good with the custard. The hard part is trying to decide the flavor. They do offer samples so don’t be afraid to ask to try!
The location is on a busy highway but easy to locate with plenty of parking on weekday.

I absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE! It is my one & only addition! They have like 192 flavors so they rotate them with different flavors on Mondays! They display them on a digital screen! I love their WATERMELON & just ordered a gallon of it to last me a month, I hope! If you're in Brea check it out! But this is the first time I've walked in & no one was here but while waiting 10 people came in. There is often a line out the door! That's HOW good they are!

I went on a busy day but the workers were quick and did not stop or slow down to get everyone helped! I specifically had Melek who was patient, kind, and offered me help on the menu. She also loaded my frozen mocha up and recommended to anyone. (In t he photo I devoured it before I got home)

Really enjoyed my experience at Rita’s. What stood out to me the most was the customer service. The worker allowed me multiple taste samples and offered some helpful suggestions on flavor pairings. I ended up going with the Gelati which is Italian ice with their custard. I went with the strawberry watermelon ice which was delicious. Their custard with light and airy. It was a great treat, highly recommend

First time trying this place out. We really enjoyed our ice cream and frozen flavored ice. It was all very delicious. I don’t live in the area so I am hoping they open one up near me (Rancho Cucamonga) soon. Will definitely drive our here in the summer so the whole family to enjoy.

Amazing frozen custard. This was the first time my family and I have tried frozen custard. It's very similar to ice cream but a bit creamier and slightly different texture. We absolutely loved it. My daughter and wife shared the cotton candy flavor, which tasted just like cotton candy while I had the cookies and cream flavor. Will definite be coming back.

Tasted great. I ordered a concrete which is their version of a blizzard. It was basically a runny milk shake. Tasted great, but I was disappointed with the consistency.

Always great. Too bad they closed the Glendora location. Now we drive about 40 min for it. But not too often. It's now a luxury to get out there for rare occasions. I hope they open another one close to us again.

The Italian ice flavors we tried didn't taste like the fruit. The custard is an acquired texture that we can do without; my son called it like a warm cheesecake. May return for the Italian ice.

Took a 20 minutes to get our mobile order which is reccomended by the signs. Could have gone on and got it much quicker but the italian ice is tasty.

My first experience here was great! The portion size for small was just enough to satisfy. The custard used to layer the Italian ice is delicious, too. I recommend the pina colada and cookie dough flavors for ice!
