The restaurant was clean and inviting, but I think they have an issue finding servers as the service was slow even though they only had 4 or 5 tables. They did get busier with people waiting 5-10 minutes just to get seated.

The food was just okay. I have a sea food pasta dish had way too mush lemon; it overpowered the dish. My wife had a different pasta dish and said it was too salty.

I don’t think we will be back.

Not being located in busy areas, no fancy signs or decorations, yet, it is really a local gem.
We ordered calamari as a starter, it was good, with the right amount of breading and a nice marinara dipping sauce. However, the complimentary bread was more surprising. The bread crust was thin and crispy, and the herb butter was delicious.
Our main courses were clam linguine and salmon Mediterranean. We selected white wine sauce for the clam linguine, and it matched perfectly with the dish. For salmon Mediterranean, the skin was super crispy but the inside was still soft and moisted. Delicious! However, I found it slightly too salty for me.
Overall, we loved this restaurant and would definitely go back for more! They could be quite busy during the weekend nights, better make reservations to secure a table.

Amazing Italian spot! We are always trying new places and I must say, this will now be one of our go to spots. Food is phenomenal, service was perfect, small and inviting atmosphere. Not too fancy not too casual. Great family spot or a date night. We had appetizers, salads, soups and several different pasta dishes. If you like Italian food you will love this place.

I came here on the recommendation of the great beer selection. I stayed cuz the food was just as amazing.
I came in on my birthday (reservations she easy to make) and was not disappointed. They are slightly understaffed and it shows during dinner service but the waiters work hard and are very diligent at maintaining the right service.

This place is a special little hidden gem! We live within walking distance, and I think we have found out new go to Italian spot! The atmosphere is nice, the servers and polite and attentive… and the door was great! We will be back to try more entree’s and drinks 🤤

I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Italian restaurant last night, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal. Our server, Bianca, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel like family. She recommended some delightful wine pairings that perfectly complemented each dish.

Cutest server I’ve ever seen 😍😍😍

Update: I still visit this fine establishment a handful of times a year, I wish I lived closer, for I would eat there on a weekly basis. Alas, perhaps it is for the best that I can not make it here as often as I’d prefer. For if I had it my way, my waistline would grow and my wallet shrink (though the dishes are appropriately priced)

The service and this one sever in particular is an absolute delight and just as striking as the first time I laid eyes on such a beautiful blessing not commonly found in nature. Her demeanor and personality reach heights that should be considered impossible by someone of her stature, but somehow she manages to bring an extraordinary energy with such grace and elegance that I can’t help but stutter when she asks me what I will be having.

The food is unmatched, with such fresh taste, my tastebuds can hardly contain themselves and I begin to salivate in such a manner that is reminiscent of a rabid beast, this all with just the mere thought of placing my order. Such flavors, textures and and oral explosions should be reserved for the gods, not us mortals.

Finally, I always make sure to thank the chef. The owner is usually present and is willing to to enlighten the customer with stimulating conversations. Of course, if planning to come in on a weekend, I recommend making reservations, I have yet to see a slow night at the ever wonderful Alza Osteria!!!!!

This place feels so warm and is super charming, our waitress was incredible. I said she had cool shoes and she did this little tap dance for us (True story) haha.

And the food is amazing! This has become our go to spot for family get togethers and birthdays, Just make sure to make a reservation, they get busy on weekend and need time to prepare.

Definitely try the Bruschetta and the Soup of the day!!

I don't write reviews often, but I just ordered a pizza for lunch and the same tap dancing server brought the pizza haha, had to write a review while enjoying this delicious piece of Zza!!!!

The location is a but small and congested bit if you over look that, the food was absolutely fabulous, but that is if you get your plate.

Went with family, my whole family got what they ordered, but my plate never arrived. Our table server, saw this twice mentioned he would be right back with it, and disappeared to help other tables, he only realised my plate had never come when we were ready to be presented with the check, and told me he forgot to place the order. I'm sorry but if a guest is sitting at my restaurant and his whole table has food I would be genuinely concerned on why 1 out of 5 guests still do not have a dish to eat.

Edited: Gave this place another shot with my family because they loved it, again the food was amazing, this time the server got my order in and everything was great.

Poorly Managed! And, discriminatory towards minors! Two teenagers with a dinner reservation during the middle of the week, got sat, & didn’t receive their food until an hour & 15 min later! When the Manager on duty was asked if he thought it was acceptable he wouldn’t answer! He kept making excuses & finally said there was nothing he could do! What kind of establishment is this? What kind of customer service is that? I’d hate to see what it’s like on the weekend! Definitely do not go to this place if you want to eat dinner at a decent hour. What a waste of 2 hours!

Outstanding italian food... marinara, meat, cream, alfredo, butter sauces are gastronomic! Staff is friendly, courteous, and attentive. The owners are wonderful people who care about you, they work every day to make your experience great, and the food is amazingly good. Small restaurant with great care for the customer. A true hidden gem.

Their pizzas are amazing as the dough smells so good, the sauce is rich and tasty, and they pile on the toppings. They also make a mean meatball sandwich with mozzarella cheese oozing out. I love love love this place.

What phenomenal Italian cuisine. Make sure to get the soup of the day. Always great. Calamari light and delicious. And the house special bruschetta is to die for. The menu is simple but effective. The pescadore was the best I've had. Can't recommend highly enough!

Excellent food. Great service. Dine in or pick up great food. I can't believe I have to change my review besides excellent food. I order Calzon to pick up and ask for pint of merinara sauce and pint of ranch which we use to order all the time. This time lady manager who I never see before charge me $19 for it. Luckily I saw the bill. When I questioned she told me we charge for it all the time which is false. So I ask for small packet of both about six each. Than she told me I have to pay $5 extra. I think this kind of restaurant when they get high rating they think they can charge what ever they want. I'm sorry to say that after five years of local regular customer I have to go some where ealse. I have receipt to prove it.

Next time I will definitely make a reservation. When we got there half of the tables were empty so you would think that the restaurant wasn't popular. Wrong! We were lucky to be seated at all. Everything was delicious. Bread, fried zucchini, ravioli and chicken parm. The service was excellent too.

I went here for lunch with my mother. She had the minestrone and I had the lunch lasagne and we split the Tuscan Flatbread.

Everything was delicious and resonably priced. I was very happy with the food and the service.

Great food. Fresh, clean, great flavors. We have had several of the menu items- all were good. Their pizza is really good too if you like fresh ingredients and not too much oil and oily cheese like most other pizza places serve. Decent wine and beer selection also. Alza gets packed most of the time and is super noisy. If youre looking for a quiet date night, this probably wont suit you.

My sister got take out pizza from here. It was great. Went in for sit-down and red flags as soon as I walked in. Appeared to be 5 tables with customers and 1 waiter. 4 to 5 workers in the back preparing food. 1 table was a large group of about 6 to 8 people. Waited a 2- 3 mn at the front. Was greeted and told just a min. Wait another 2 - 3 mn to get seated. Got 2 drinks and abandoned. Noticed the table next to us was waiting for food. They seemed annoyed. I was hungry and wanted pizza. I watched the only server at the 2 tables in the back, party of 4 and another the 6-8.. I figured that by the time he took our order, it would be an hour or more to get a pizza. Paid for the drinks and left. The entire kitchen staff saw us walking out. One came out and apologized and blamed the new waiter. I blame the management for lack of staffing out front. I might be back. Drove to Little Tony's Italian for burnt pizza.😒

Food was ok the first time I went there (a few apps and pasta dishes pretty standard stuff), though service was a bit slow. Second time I stood waiting for a bit in order to get a table. After waiting for a bit I'm told they can't accommodate my 9 month old because they're out of high chairs. Really annoying because I had to wait to find this out. It was 5 PM on a weekday, the restaurant was practically empty, with more employees than customers. 3 employees were standing around the register looking busy doing something, 2 kitchen folks, and a hostess. Why can't I get prompt service? Being new to the neighborhood, this is the closest restaurant to our home. I had high hopes to make this part of our weekly routine, but I don't want to risk wasting my time showing up to a restaurant that might not be able to accommodate my family.

Person at the front that is supposed to seat you at your table ask "could I help you" with a tone implying as we didn't belong there. As I replied obviously we liked to eat? With a shocked reply "oh I'm sorry your right" and proceeded to seat us. So I waited for him to give us the menu witch took about 7min and as I waited I looked around the room and noticed it was predominantly Caucasians. I felt uncomfortable so got up and went to a different place. I don't know what type of restaurant it was because I'm not from the area. But first impressions too me are of great value and from my experience was way short of good. First and last time I ever stop by.

Terribly disappointing. I’ve had this place once before and they made a decent bbq chicken pizza. Tonight I ordered a caprece pizza and it may have been the worst pizza I have ever received from a restaurant. Ordered online quoted 45 minutes took an hour. Pizza had a light dusting of cheese and sad looking toppings. Essentialy bought a 30 dollar breadstick. I don’t mind paying more money if a pizza is solid but I honestly felt cheated after this. Everyone was polite so no knock on the service, but that pizza was a 1/10 if I’m being charitable. Won’t be coming back :(

Always liked coming to this restaurant when I was a kid when it was called Grazio's. It's still great now. Our server was Angel 😇 We were very impressed at how polite and helpful he was. My mom really appreciated it! My mom had the salmon with zucchini noodles, my bf had the Pescatore, and I had the linguini with clams - favorite since childhood. I know the owners and chefs are different, but the food is still delicious and the restaurant is still a delight! And prices are very reasonable.. If ever you're in the area, definitely stop by. The restaurant is on a quiet corner of a mostly residential area, but it's crowded on some nights. So call ahead for reservations. You won't be sorry.

Angel our waiter was just that. He was so happy to accommodate all our needs and wants (even fresh oregano). The eggplant parmigiana and chicken parmigiana were tender and delicious. When Angel found out it was our first experience he said he would have brought us complimentary bruschetta! Then said next time remind me. Delicious real Italian

A Great local Italian food place! Last night was my first time there and we had the Salmon Mediterranean, Chicken Piccata, Lasagna and Creamy Arrabiata with sausage and every dish was Fantastic! We were with a party of ten and I have to say their staff handled it very well. We live on the west side of Brea and we have been going to another Italian place over there but this place is much better in my opinion. Oh the appetizers were great as well. We had the sausage rolls, bruschetta, calamari and the Tuscan flatbread all of which were on point. Give this place a go and I believe you will be hooked like I am now. Cant wait to go back!

Do not order pizza from this place! I have had good food here years ago, but friends have told me they stay away now. I just ordered pizza for carry out because I wanted something quick and good. The pizza was horrible. It tasted like frozen pizza. The crust had no flavor and was dry and tough. The rest had minimal flavor. I can't imagine how you could make pizza from scratch that came out this bad! It was also very expensive - over $29 for a 16" pizza with 2 toppings! It was more than the menu showed, so the cashier said they had recently raised their prices even more. Extremely disappointing. Most of it went uneaten.

REVIEW BASED ON CUSTOMER SERVICE, DID NOT GET TO TRY FOOD

We walked into an empty establishment at 456 for a party of 3, my wife, myself, and our 5 year old son and someone from the kitchen said that there would be someone with us. Someone walked up a few moments later and asked us if we had a reservation. I looked at him, then the empty restaurant and said no we don't. He proceeded to look at his screen and said would a 6pm reservation be okay? My wife and I looked at each other and were utterly shocked, it's not even 5pm in an empty restaurant. He then proceeded to say the weekends are their busy time and they have a lot of reservations at 530 and 6pm. We said no it's not alright, we were not going to leave and wait for over an hour. He apologized, but someone please explain to me how we couldn't be seated or served? This is beyond anything I've ever seen. Am I in bizzaro world? No thanks Alza Osteria, I won't be heading here anytime soon since it says nowhere we needed reservations to eat at an empty restaurant. Especially because just now, I'm looking at Google right now and it shows less than 15 min wait and usually gets busy at 6pm. All I wanted was a few pies and if they're taking to-go orders on the phone as I left, I should have been accommodated to sit in an empty restaurant. Since I wasn't even offered that to-go avenue I sure as hell ain't asking to take a to-go order from an empty restaurant, who never offered that or provided any rational explanation why we couldn't be seated and served. We purposely came early to avoid any dinner rush and simply wanted to try out a food place new to us. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere this evening. Such a shame for a business to turn down people when there are so many other businesses doing the best they can to survive during times like this. I guess since their business survived during 2020 they are willing to turn down new customers at any cost.

This place is absolutely fantastic! This was our second time at this restaurant and the same service and food quality was superb! Our beautiful waitress/ bartender was super nice, attentive and made sure out orders were good to go! I definitely recommend this establishment for a dinner date, gathering or a pizza fix after a long day!

The food is always fresh and delicious. I really like their thin crust pizza. Try to get one of their pizzas and modify the toppings. It gets expensive to create your own with more than two toppings. The beer selection is also great!

Service and food were great on a Friday lunch. Eggplant parmesan was super tasty and warm, and a nice side salad. Left Alza Osteria feeling satisfied and eager to come back again.

Had the pesto because that's my favorite dish. Also had some baked bruschetta (?) with tapenade and fried green beans...Super bomb! Glad we found out about this spot. Can't wait to try the pizza.

May 2022 update:

Still fire! On par with Roman Cuccina in Fullerton, CA. If you're looking for Italian, you won't be disappointed.

Today's pizza was tasteless with a lot of hard waxy cheese to hide the fact. I last had pizza here 2 years ago and it was excellent at that time.

The place needs to be bigger, and have more staff. They aren't quick to clean tables, they don't honor reservations, and the food isn't good enough to ignore the lack of service. Because of this fiasco. I probably won't be back!

Food was excellent, except the soup/salad came about 5 minutes before the entree. We also had to remind our server about the appetizer as she had forgotten to punch it in. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as the place suddenly got busy at 3pm on a lazy Sunday afternoon, because otherwise the place was great.

We dined in for lunch on a Sunday, and it was not crowded at all. We had the minestrone soup, and it was very good. Also ordered "The Works" pizza, it had a ton of ingredients on it, including big chunks of sausage. Lots of esoteric beer and wine selections to choose from.

We had a large party for dinner. Each of us ordered different entrees and none of us were disappointed. The taste was just perfect.
I don't eat salmon at all but the Mediterranean salmon was surprisingly so fresh and good. Calm linguini was so tasty until the last bite.
The restaurant charges a cake setup fee, but with the service it provides, it's totally worth it. We received the best service here.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and each time has been wonderful. I ordered the salmon Mediterranean. My friends ordered the lasagna. All of it was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is a special little hidden gem! We live within walking distance, and I think we have found out new go to Italian spot! The atmosphere is nice, the servers and polite and attentive… and the door was great! We will be back to try more entree’s and drinks 🤤

Not overly priced for a Italian restaurant, food is average depending on what you eat. Ordered a few sandwiches in the past and bread was burnt.

The pizza is really good. The Hawaiian with pepperoni 🤩 their buffalo wings are really good 👍🏼 The service is 5 stars. The staff is young, professional and speedy thank you for delicious food 🙏🏼

Local Italian restaurant. We loved the vibe of this place. Good music and good beer. Their Bruschetta was really good. Their pizza is a little bit thick to me but it's not a big deal as it was so tasty. We will go back to this restaurant again.

Visited recently and had the meat ravioli with minestrone soup. I also shared a bruschetta with my friend. The meal was good. The service was friendly and attentive. Total tab with tax and tip was $18.

The whole evening was a fiasco. Our waiter must have been new. He was speaking very softly the whole night and was acting nervous or something. Someone in my group mentioned. We sat like 20 min before they brought water. Service was very slow and our waiter kept disappearing for long periods of time. We ordered, they didnt mention anything included with meal. I asked about bread and they brought some out shortly. They brought our appetizer, and we waited, and waited, and waited. After we had been there 2 hrs our waiter came and said our meals were on the house, they had lost our ticket. We waited a short while more and they eventually brought the food out. A person in my group had alfredo and they said sauce was not good. Another person had some chicken with capers thing. Soup was under cooked, vegetables were hard. Capers were hard, and had too much lemon. Our salads were basic. My meal was ok but not hungry like i was 2 hrs earlier. To top it off, the waiter offered desert, and then didnt tell us what the desert was. I called him back and asked him what the desert was. He said all the had is a canole. I had it. I just wanted to get out of there. Ill never be back.

Service was slow, order was wrong, drinks were bad. Dinner was mediocre at best. Pasta was like a soup. Will not return.

Went there for the first time and was pretty happy with it. I asked the waiter for a baked pasta recommendation along the lines of baked penne and lasagna (which I get often), and he recommended the chicken parmesan. I had always stayed away from that dish, but I know a lot of people love it, so I gave it a shot. I wasn't really into the whole pieces of chicken on top of pasta thing, but not because there was anything wrong with it - just personal preference - however, the pasta itself was great and the rest of my family really enjoyed the meal as well. My mom and sister have both worked in mostly high-end restaurants their whole lives, and they are usually pretty critical. The only thing I heard them mention was that they're really not supposed to put glasses of water out on the table anymore (apparently it's actually against the law in California). The fact that the only negative thing they mentioned was something that other people would find positive means that overall they did a great job!
We will absolutely be going back and I look forward to trying some of the other options.

We were visiting for the weekend and decided to stop by. The service and the food were both great. Had a pasta sausage dish with had a little bit of a kick to it; the flavor was just right - not too overpowering and not too weak. Would definitely go there again and dry other dishes.

Great food, Great service & Great people. We order out from here quite a bit and the food is always delicious. I suggest the Chicken Giovanni w/salad. The Meatball Sandwich & Pizza are also delicious.

Prices just raised due to "inflation and shortage of merchandise. All extras will be charged" So, the $2.75 taco went up 75 cents!! Suggested the Notice about prices should be placed in the menus, not just 8"x12" pages taped discreetly on a couple walls. I won't be back.

Sorry but after waiting for my dinner for over an hour, my salmon came out really salty to the point that I couldn't even eat it. And seriously I hate complaining at a restaurant but this time I was disappointed. I've eaten here before and it was never like this .. 🤷‍♀️ not sure if I'll go back any time soon.

Our first time at this Italian restaurant. We order lasagna and antipasto salad. The lasagna was delicious. The antipasto salad tasted great too, we just wished it had some additional meat toppings...the portion seemed small, but the taste was right on.
