Fun environment with daily specials. The fish was perfectly cooked with a nice crispy top full of flavor. The crab and shrimp enchiladas were filled well and did not taste artificial (real crab is always a plus). The sangria was good and not overly sweet. You also get a hefty pile of fresh chips to enjoy while you wait for your meal. Will definitely eat here again.

First time coming here last night. The service and atmosphere were very good but the food was a bit bland and salty. The tres leches Cake was dry and not much flavor compared to others I've had. I'd come back for the salmon and atmosphere

I wish the tacos were filled more, especially the protein. For me, the steak mojo was the most flavorful. My friend liked the short rib the best. We were both disappointed in the Wild Mushroom.

Happy Hour:

Tastes creamy and yummy. Loved the fire roasted salsa that comes with it. The 1st one had a hair in it. They replaced it with a new one.

** There was also a hair stuck to the bottle of water, but we let it go. With it being a hot day and being seated outside, it would have been nice to have ice for the water. It was super busy so the server always seemed in a rush.

Grande 24oz Fresh Watermelon Margarita $22 My friend was shocked at the price when we saw the check. The 1st one was a little weak. She got another one, which was stronger. But, at $44 for 2, was it worth it?!

I’ve come here many times. It’s my first time not being able to give them 5 Stars.

I love the appetizers here! The Crab & Shrimp Enchilada is delicious! It’s one of my favorites! I’ve ordered this dish many times and it doesn’t disappoint! The creamy habanero pesto sauce so flavorful!

The music can get pretty loud. The outside patio area is a little better for having conversation. Service is good.

It can get quite busy, especially on the weekends. The ambiance is fun and lively.

This is a decent Mexican American eatery with excellent and friendly service. I tried the Cha Cha Margarita that the menu proclaimed as the best in Orange County. It was pretty good, but too light on the tequila. The best dish was the steak fajita, which you have to ask the server since it’s not on the current menu. I had it in medium rare and it was a bit on the medium side, but it was a decent quality cut and tasted very good. We also ordered a bunch of tacos, and they weren’t very of. The carnita was too sweet and the fish was too dry and tough. The short rib taco was the only one that tasted okay. Both the rice and beans were good, but the corn tortillas were a 1* as the edge of all the tortillas were very hard, which means they were not freshly made. This place lost a star for is corn tortillas. The prices were reasonable in light the quantity of food you get. Parking can be tough to find on Birch, though there’s a multi-stories parking structure that’s free, but park in the mall behind the restaurant on Imperial, and then it’s a shorter walk than the parking structure. Take the path between World Market and US Bank.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but my experience here was so frustrating that I feel like I need to share it.

I was fine with the initial wait time of an hour—it’s a busy spot, and I get it. But while everyone else waited patiently to be seated, I saw a couple walk in, completely skip the hostess, and seat themselves at a booth. They hovered around until the servers weren’t looking and then just took the table. Essentially, they cut the line while everyone else waited patiently.

I told the manager what happened, and while he thanked me and said he’d take care of it, he didn’t do anything. The table ended up getting served right away, while I ended up waiting an hour and a half before I said something to someone who I later found out was the owner—I finally was told I would be be seated next, after an hour an forty minutes of waiting.

When we did get seated, things only got worse. No menus were brought to our table, and it took ten minutes for a server to even ask if we were okay. I asked for menus, but after waiting another ten minutes with no sign of them, I decided to leave.

I did pay for the drinks and appetizer I ordered at the bar, but honestly, the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I won’t be coming back. I know my choice won’t matter to a successful place like this, but for anyone reading this—just know that if there’s a long wait, you might as well seat yourself because apparently, there are no consequences.

Management really needs to step it up and handle situations like this better.

Met my long time friend here for a dinner. Ordered seafood caldo as this is their signature dish. It doesn’t disappoint, very tasteful with a perfect level of spicy. The portion is pretty big, all the bountiful of seafood in the red soup. Superb.

Extremely disappointed. We were excited to try the food but we didn't even have a server come to the table after 15 min of waiting. We came shortly after it opened, wasn't busy, just didn't get any service. It was our first time there, not a good impression. Decided to leave, went to Yard House down the street, got service within 2 min of being seated.

My cousin and I had a wonderful lunch today. We enjoyed the chips and the two salsa options. Then we had tacos and enchilada combo lunches. Everything was great. The service was excellent as well. The music on the patio was kind of loud, which made it hard for discussion, but still everything else was great.

The food is subpar but what can you expect from EATING in a MALL. Me my friends or my Family will ever come to eat there again! I'd recommend that anyone applying for a job think twice they'll lead you on & on like your going to get hired. Then you'll get some AI message from site stating you not chosen instead of getting a professional call and give some kind of reason. But I assume thats the way they do business at cha cha's!

My brother brought my wife and I for dinner for our first visit. We were very pleased with the drinks, food, and service. The food was delicious and fresh. My wife had the salmon in a Chipotle honey sauce. The salmon was cooked to perfection. I had the carnitas with rice and black beans. The carnitas had the perfect amount of salt and had that crunchy burnt outer skin. They have a nice size bar with a great variety of tequilas. The watermelon margaritas are awesome. Will definitely be back.

The food is good. The service is AMAZING; we had three gentlemen cone and ask us how we are doing within the past 15 minutes. My only complaint is the bathrooms. How are there only 3 female restrooms for the number of patrons they can have? That is unacceptable. We went on Friday night and there was a long line to use the bathrooms. One of the toilets had throw up all over the seat so all of us in line decided to not use it and the others were low on toilet paper. I did let staff know that the female restrooms needed help but with how large the venue is they really should be checking more frequently. PLEASE ADD MORE BATHROOMS! 🚽🪠🧻

Everything was so delicious and our waitress Cherish was the best. She was so sweet, attentive, and gave us the best recommendations on what to get. She recommended the churro desert, and it was the table's favorite out of everything we ordered. I recommend them and we'll definitely be coming back.

The 7 of us Stopped in to celebrate brother's 70th birthday. We hardly waited (15 minutes) after spontaneously decided to stop in. I ordered the empanadas because it mentioned ancho 🌶. There were so many plates ordered and everyone seemed to enjoy. Presenting brother with a flan birthday dish was very nice.

This place is my go to golden gem. I can’t say enough about the staff and food. I have two young boys and our favorite waitress is Maria. It’s always hard going to restaurants with young kids and they always make me feel so welcomed, especially Maria! She greets us so warmly and is so sweet to my boys. And the few times I’ve had accidents she never makes me feel bad. I come here so often and the food and drinks are always top notch, this place knows what they’re doing. Rebecca also is a great hostess who accommodates our need for high chairs and is so sweet. Thank you for being a safe zones where I can have fun and so can my boys.

2 stars simply because there’s an amazing manager who helped us. BUT, our server, Melissa B was so unattentive to us. Idk if it’s because we looked younger but all of us either are or have been in the service industry. We never got a chip refill, we had to ask multiple servers for stuff, hardly refilled our waters and don’t forget how horrible she was of staying on top of the bottomless mimosas. The worst part was that we asked for a manager (i didn’t get his name) & he asked, “what do you guys need?” Knowing damn well our entire table was empty, no chips, no drinks no waters etc. he didn’t do anything. I was pissed, so then came the hero JD (Juan Diego!) he was our savior. He apologized & comped some of the bill. (We did not ask for that) but we got an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill which i was NOT okay with .. he ended up comping some of the bill and gave us desserts & guest passes to come back. Mind you, we aren’t a group of Karen’s so for it to get to this level, you know it was bad. She didn’t give AF because she was still getting paid. All i know is, if you go & your server is Melissa B, ask for a new one. 😂 she was terrible. Shoutout to JD Though, only reason for the 2 stars. Thank you JD !!! You’re amazing.

Definitely one of the best restaurants to visit in Brea downtown. The place is packed on a weekday evening. Food is Mexican style. Drinks are good especially the cocktails. Service is fast even on a packed evening. Ambience is good and has a nice vibe. It is a big place and can accommodate big groups. Prices are reasonable.

My fiance and I visited Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen for dinner last Saturday, and it was a delightful experience overall. We kicked off our meal with the fresh guacamole appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. While the chicken tacos were decent, they could've used a bit more flavor. On the other hand, my fiancé thoroughly enjoyed the ceviche sampler and salad, describing them as delicious. I opted for the three-enchilada combination plate, which was simply fantastic.

The ambiance was lively, and the restaurant was bustling with patrons, creating a vibrant atmosphere. We complemented our meal with some margaritas, which were spot-on. The service was attentive, and despite the crowd, our orders were promptly delivered.
Overall, Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen provided us with a memorable dining experience. If you're craving flavorful Latin cuisine in a bustling setting, this is the place to be!

Mediocre place. Small portions, food is average at best and pricey for what you get. Service is decent. Ambience is lively.

Came here one afternoon for happy hour. The happy hour menu is basically just the bar menu and goes on all day all night. There's no discount on the price. The portion size is small.
Got a few things to try and everything tasted mediocre.

Service was ok, food is overpriced and mediocre. You can watch sports at the bar which is a plus. Probably will never come back.

This place was highly recommended to help celebrate my husbands birthday. The staff was great, service was great but the food was OK, a little bland, and over priced. My mom ordered the chicken plate that was $21.00 and it came with no sides, just chicken. I would suggest reading the menu and asking what comes with what since we weren't expecting some things to be a la cart and some meals to just have the protein. Also, I brought in my husband a cake (which they did NOT charge for) but they also randomly brought out a flan to sing him happy birthday and once at home we noticed we were charged for it. We didn't ask for it and was charged $7.00 since my cake was 10x's more flavorful. Wish I would aheb checked the receipt more carefuly before leaving. Probably won't be back.

We decided to try this spot for the first time, it didn’t disappoint. No wait if you have a reservation. Our server was very professional and cordial. Chips and salsa were regular, nothing too crazy. I decided to try the Cha Chas signature margarita since the menu said it was voted ‘best in OC’, it was okay. Carnitas, flour tortillas, calabazitas, empanadas and queso apps were good. Don’t recommend the rice, it was like Whitexican rice. I’m intrigued to try the brunch menu for next time. 8/10 overall

The good here is good. We came on taco Tuesday so the tacos were half off and 50% off of tequila. We also ordered the ceviche. Overall the food is good. The tacos are not street taco size...they are much larger. We came as a large group and so they added a 20% automatic gratuity (which is to be expected). :)

This place is situated perfectly in downtown Brea, and the presentation of the food is well done, however, the food itself was only so-so. They did have great salsa with their chips, but that's not enough to make-up for the food. I ordered the chilaquiles, and the first thing I thought was "Rubio's has better chilaquiles." (and, at a better price point)

It does have a nice ambience. The service was standard. I honestly wished the food was better. Overall, an average experience.

The food and atmosphere at Cha Chas was superb. I ordered the chicken enchilads. I devoured my plate. The rice and black beans were delicious. I usually don't like black beans.. The chips and salsa were also good. The bartender poured with a heavy hand on my waterman margarita too🙂 I will be coming again next time I'm in the area.

This place was busy but the wait was only 20 minutes but we decided to sit at the bar. We ordered drinks and appetizers off the happy hour menu. They give you chips and salsa which we enjoyed with our drinks. The ceviche was not chopped so it had whole shrimp which didn’t fit well on the chips. I did add salsa to the ceviche to give it more flavor. The atmosphere was fun and they had television for those wanting to watch sports while others enjoyed the music playing. Overall we enjoyed our time eating here.

Great friends, and the server was friendly but extremely busy. Appetizers were all delicious. Tamarindo wings were delicious, first time trying them.

Great Mexican restaurant with friendly service! Excellent date night spot. They have daily deals. vegetarian friendly. They will make vegetarian enchiladas upon request and they are a phenomenal!

This is a decent Mexican American eatery with excellent and friendly service. I tried the Cha Cha Margarita that the menu proclaimed as the best in Orange County. It was pretty good, but too light on the tequila. The best dish was the steak fajita, which you have to ask the server since it’s not on the current menu. I had it in medium rare and it was a bit on the medium side, but it was a decent quality cut and tasted very good. We also ordered a bunch of tacos, and they weren’t very of. The carnita was too sweet and the fish was too dry and tough. The short rib taco was the only one that tasted okay. Both the rice and beans were good, but the corn tortillas were a 1* as the edge of all the tortillas were very hard, which means they were not freshly made. This place lost a star for is corn tortillas. The prices were reasonable in light the quantity of food you get. Parking can be tough to find on Birch, though there’s a multi-stories parking structure that’s free, but park in the mall behind the restaurant on Imperial, and then it’s a shorter walk than the parking structure. Take the path between World Market and US Bank.

I live so close from this place therefore been there many many times. However I've noticed first time that this place cheated on tip on receipt.
There are two types of receipts and merchant/customer signing copy receipt added $2.25 from original tip percentage. Never noticed until now and this is very bad. See attached both receipts. So people don't pay attention about original receipt like me because we assume must be matched to.

Went here on a Friday night. The place was packed but they were quick to seat us.
Our waiter was wonderful!
The food was phenomenal 😋.
The drinks were spot on delicious.
We will go back!

멕시코 음식이고 가격이 저렴하고 음식양도 많다.6명이 예약하고 왔는데 앉기전에 4명이상은 팁을 20%이상 지불해야 한다고 해서 기분이
너무 나뻤다.팁 문화는 당연히 지불해야 겠지만
몇프로 이상 강요하는것은 나쁘다고 생각한다.
손님이 좋은 서비스를 받고 거기에 대한 댓가는 손님에게 선택권을 주어야 한다고 생각한다.
이런식당에 팁 강요는 처음 받아보고 경험한다.
안내하는 웨츠레스 인성 교육을 받아야 겠다.

We sat at the bar, and the bartender was awesome! I had pineapple margaritas. The service was wonderful and the food was very good. We plan on coming back to hang out at the bar.

WOW 🤩 , decided to eat here on a whim and expected it to cost a pretty penny, but I walked out feeling well-fed and well-attended to without burning a hole in my wallet. Dropped by on a Tuesday and snagged 3 tacos while my buddy got 3 tacos and a non-alcoholic drink. Our server, Marina, was fantastic! The total bill was only $28, which blew my mind considering how reasonable that is. For comparison, we recently ate at Panera Bread and shelled out $51 for the two of us. Even Chipotle costs about the same for two people. Hayley tipped us off that tacos are half off on Tuesdays, so that’s a sweet deal. We’re absolutely making this our go-to spot for a night out, especially since they’re open late!

El servicio de los mozos estuvo muy bien pero la comida terrible, no pude ni comer la mitad de mi plato, creo que quieren hacer una fusión de sabores entre comidas de diferentes países y queda muy desagradable al gusto, ni siquiera los tacos estaban bien, los camarones malísimos al gusto, me dio pena decirle al mozo que estaba feísimo porque no era su culpa, igual al final se lo dije y le deje igual su propina pero no regresaré nunca . Los tragos parecían ricos pero ni ganas de probarlos . Siento mucho hacer este comentario pero es la verdad.

Tried this spot the Sunday before Labor Day. Came for brunch stayed for Frojitos. I got the steak and egg brunch option. Steak was cooked deliciously medium w over medium egg. Chefs kiss 🧑‍🍳The bartenders know what they’re doing here. Had a couple rounds of frozen Mojitos (Frojitos) perfect balance & refreshing. Last but not least our Waitress was sweet and attentive. Checked on us :) Recommend this casual spot if you’re looking for nice Mexican dinning. Everyone from the Hostess to the Bartenders are so friendly

The food was immaculate, absolutely DELECTABLE. The meat in the carne asada with egg was very very soft and eating it was a whole other experience, very juicy and flavorful, it was well done by the way. The potatoes were crispy and very well cooked and seasoned, amazing, absolutely amazing. Our server, Maria, was very nice, and did her best to make our experience astonishing, and succeeded. She were quick to attend to us if we needed something, and the food wait time was not that long surprisingly. Oh, and may I mention how the atmosphere was?? We got a very good seating spot in our party of 9. We got a spot with very comfortable seats, and the lighting was dim, but in a relaxing and very nice way. It was the perfect amount of light, not too dark, and not too bright. On one side there was a mirror, the other a tv, and of course, a wall with many alcoholic beverages, and it just was the cherry on top to the room, and was very beautiful. 10/10 experience, would highly recommend.

Nice upscale Mex restaurant, unfortunately the food wasn’t up to par. Hard to ruin a cheese enchilada but they did. Service was okay but over all the food made the experience less enjoyable.

SCAMMERS: ok so they’re going around charging most people the 20% gratuity people even though it states only if you have a party OF 6 or MORE. We had 4 people on our table and they charged us $30 more! Bad business, shady, and really scummy. Also the food/drinks was 5/10 at best.

This was our second time eating here. It is a gourmet Mexican food restaurant. The food was decent. It wasn’t knock your socks off but was good. The service was top notch for sure. It’s one of the things that makes this place good. Oh and the Watermelon drink was amazing. The atmosphere was super chill. You have to get there early with no reservations because it gets packed

This review is mainly for Diane now the food was very good, don't get me wrong. But her service was beyond top notch. We eat our kind of regularly and this was one of the best servers we've had in quite sometime. She was completely swamped and never missed a beat. Checked in on us regularly with out being overly attentive.

Our 2nd round of drinks was kind of slow which we didn't mind we knew the place was packed. Checked up noticed we hadn't received our drinks yet and we watched after she took care of another table immediately was at the bar getting it taken care of. She was friendly, had great suggestions on the menu for food and drink pairings and even as busy as she was and noticeably a little overwhelmed she was on top of her game. Hope management notices this kind of hard work and great customer service and rewards it. Don't let good ones like this feel unappreciated.

Also on a side note why is this location like 500% better than the Irvine one. In everyway service, food quality, atmosphere. We're actually quite a bit closer to the Irvine one but make the trip here because it's so much better.

Cha cha’s never disappoints! Went for a birthday dinner and everyone loved their food! Their Monday date night deal is awesome!! The only thing we were underwhelmed by was the guacamole.
