I was in town and needed some lunch. This place blew the doors off of my expectations. I had the octopus and pork belly appetizer and the sampler plate of tacos. Couldn't be more impressed. It's two hours away and I will make the drive just to eat here again.

The pork belly taco appetizer is a must here, if you like crispy chucks pork belly. We have been here a few times and the margaritas are always good as well as the asada tacos. Just found out that they are moving to where the old taps brewery building in brea is. Not sure when but probably soon.

I was incredibly disappointed with my recent takeout order from Tempo Cantina. Despite arriving at the designated pickup time, my order was not ready. I ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes, which was frustrating.
To make matters worse, the food itself was subpar. I ordered the surf & turf burrito. It was mushy, had a horrible aftertaste & was lukewarm at best. I'm not sure why it wasn't piping hot being as tho it was made while I was there.

Also, I witnessed the manager/owner pick up food off the line & eat it. I thought about asking for a refund right then & there. (I definitely should've gone with my gut on that one.)

Given the long wait, poor quality of the food & disgusting sight I witnessed. I would not recommend this restaurant to others.

This location has become one my mine and my girlfriends favorite brunch stops. The bloody mary’s and breakfast tacos hit EVERY TIME. The servers here are phenomenal and so sweet. Always checking in and providing top notch service. We adore them! One of the managers is always present and checking on the tables around. We have witnessed horrendous behavior from guests here and the staff always goes above and beyond to handle the situation professionally. This will always be our go to brunch spot!

It was our first time here and we were excited to try somewhere new. First the menu is way too big and complicated to even pick something. Second I asked for water and she gave me a small cup where in 2 sips, i need a refill. Third, the food was not good, I get they were trying to do “mexican asian” fusion mix but it does not taste good. I was disappointed and the favor wasnt there even for the rice and beans. I wouldnt recommend to anyone. 👎

Honestly, this place has a ton of potential to be everyone’s favorite restaurant.

The flavor of the food served here is really great.

The House Taco Selection is great, especially the Shredded Beef Mole taco. It was perfection.

The pork belly appetizer is among one of the best pork belly I have ever tasted. The sriracha sauce isn’t the typical sriracha sauce you’d expect. The spiciness, acidity and the sweetness balances out the fattiness of the pork belly quite well.

The Tempo Burger isn’t as good as expected, but had I not been a burger snob, it would have been great. The bone marrow and pork belly in the burger makes the burger full of flavor, but the combination also makes the patty feel a little inferior. I think taking away a piece of the beef patty gives the burger better balance. Most people don’t know understand the biggest difference between a good burger and great burger pretty much comes down to balance.

The fries that came with the burger is phenomenal. The dipping sauces for the fries are very very interesting, it is definitely flavors I rarely try.

With that said, this place is great and I enjoy eating here and have a great time, but there is some room of improvement. 5 star regardless of some flaws!

Initial post: Aug 2023, The food is delicious, but every time we order to-go they never seem to pay attention to the details of the order. This is the 5th time they add pico and onions to my deconstructive quesadilla. It’s come to the point where I cannot trust them to complete this simple task and will have to confirm the order is correct prior to leaving the establishment. Extremely disappointed.

Update: 10/05/2024, at this point, no matter how many times I ask for them to accommodate a $22 meal by not placing onions, they don’t pay attention or maybe they don’t care enough or maybe they don’t respect their customers enough to not put onions in my meal after politely requesting in Spanish and in English for no onions to the waitress.

If you dig it out want to go all out, check out Mr. Tempo in San Diego b/c THAT LOCATION RIGHT THERE!?!?!? Nightclub, live music, performances, it's lit.

An authentic place to try out Mexican food. It offers a compressive drinks menu and a separate option of vegetarian food. A must try place around Brea / Fullerton. The only thing is their AC vents may be directly above you so check with the staff if you feel cold. Also, music can be very loud to hear you chat with your friends. Free parking available on the premises

Definitely coming back to try out more of their menu! The service was exceptional as they were very attentive and accommodating, just a heads up; if the server offers you chips and guac, know that it will be charged close to $20. We weren't made aware of that, so we did find it a little rude, nevertheless if you're with a group of more than 3, I definitely recommend them as they are super tasteful. I visited with my GF, I got the grilled octopus which was pretty pricy but one of the best ones I've had; my GF went for the Al pastor tacos, also, one of the best ones we've had from a restaurant. I 100% recommend this place, just be prepared to spend a pretty penny, I spend around $150 for my gf and I.

We came here about 2 years ago for the first time and really liked the place. So this week since we were in the area, we decided to swing by for dinner. Wow, the place has changed. The place has the same name but Clea either changed ownership or the owner decided to ruin his own business. Today, the place reminds me of a cheesy 80s or 90s nightclub with black walls, black lights and neon vandalized walls as it's decor. The items on the current menu are not the ones on yelp or other Google reviews. Of course that's partly our fault since we forgot to take pictures of our experience. I had an overpriced burrito that wasn't bad but definitely not worth the near $20 and my wife had some birria tacos that became my lunch. But as if the food and ambiance wasn't bad enough, the bathroom was an experience. After dinner I went to wash my hands. After finishing washing my hands, i lowered the faucet handle and it literally fell off. Luckily, it didn't break when turning it on. I sincerely hope this place returns to the way it used to be. 3 stars because the food wasn't terrible just overpriced.

My family and I came here for a cousin's birthday dinner. The atmosphere was loud because there was music playing, there was a UFC fight on, and the customers were having conversations. Their menu is huge and there are so many great food and drink options. I definitely have to go back to try some more items. Their brunch menu looks amazing as well and I can't wait to try that. We tried the Birria Tacos, the Birria Dirty Fries, the Wet Burrito, and the Pomegranate Margarita.

I have never had a taco as awesome as the bone marrow taco, and they serve up beautifully!! Really great menu! Will definitely have to make this another pit stop whenever I come into town. If you want some great food and drinks , do yourself a favor and hit this spot up!!

Came in today at brunch 04/04/2024 for daughter birthday! The food was was cold no salt, tasteless Grandaughter bean, chesse and rice burrito was bland
I was so suprvised it was early like 1pm for tje food not to be freshly made.
Im not rude to
make a scene but was really disappointed .
Another gripe is they seemed rushed they kept picking up our plates.
Even the Mamger that was just on his laptop didn't try to imteract with patrons but sure
came and try to get my daughters plate which were her left overs.
Thay was desire to eat here for her birthday what can I say !
Next time I will suggest somewhere else

Too busy of a visual atmosphere, too loud inside with music and conversations, unable to find satisfactory selections from the menu (too busy). Prices and proportions of the food are what I’d expect on the Strip of a Vegas hotel (overpriced and under proportioned. Do not understand how a small order of fries should cost almost $20. I do NOT recommend this place. For the amount of money spent here I can go to a hole in the wall restaurant and get more proportions, flavor and value for my money with a more acceptable atmosphere for my dining experience. This is a night club pretending to be a restaurant.

We had the misfortune of having the bar tender take our order. The menu is so large, it’s darkish in there and it took us about 5 minutes to decide what to eat. Our “server “ never came back till much later. He’d be in the dining area and NEVER make eye contact. After waiting 25 minutes, I asked someone to take our order.

The food here is very good although it was spicy and of course still no server, I asked yet another person for sour cream to tone it down. I would have normally asked the server for something else. I shouldn’t have eaten it, I got very sick later.

After we finished, we waited still without anyone checking on us. After another 20 minutes he shows up and acts like he’s been giving us great service. The ambiance was fun, it was very cold in there (no heat). In total we were in there for 2 hours!

We share the fish tacos, alpastor cazuela, sushi roll, and a ceviche tostada between 4 adults. Portions are good size for the value, and we also had 3 jumbo double house margaritas and a long island ice tea. The total amount of the ticket was 159.46. Is a very nice place to have a drink and dinner. The only bad thing is customer service. We had to wait 20 min for a server to acknowledge us. The server took our order food was delivered at different times 10 min - 20 min apart from each, server didn't check on us at all for drinks or anything else, he just drop the ticket off and walk away from us, it took him 20 min to come back and pick up the payment. Place wasn't a full capacity. They had 4 tables occupied and like 4 servers and 3 other employees walking around.

Fun, loud, and very Instagramable! We came here for a large work dinner and our server did a fantastic job keeping the drinks flowing and addressing some demanding boss ladies.

While I wouldn't necessarily recommend coming here for a work event if your company is a conservative group... it is a fun restaurant with delicious food and drinks. It is a little pricey but overall reasonable for a date night or when trying something new.

Their dinner rush started around 6-7pm and at some point they turned down the regular lights and turned up the black lights. The vibe is young and wild, with sexy music videos playing and upbeat music.

The margarita flight is so good! The full size margaritas are a good size too. The drinks are Strong and the food is packed with flavor. The churros are good but not the best I've ever had, and I LOVE churros.

I've also visited their Anaheim Hills location and the service and quality of the food was consistent. Would totally recommend Mr. Tempo's, as long as you know what you are getting in to!

I'm not certain that being in my 70's is a valid reason for not caring for the wall, ceiling and doors bright neon bold paint job, but it was a bit overwhelming and nauseating for me. We were told that the paint job was recent. I don't know if it glows in the dark or in low lighting, but you'll have to find out for yourself. I wouldn't have found the painted restroom door if I hadn't been given explicit directions. There were plenty of TV's on.
We were the first ones to arrive when the doors opened and probably the third table to decide on what we finally wanted to order. The gent who waited on our table was patient, efficient, respectful and very pleasant.
I did enjoy my mango mock margarita!
Three of us ordered a pork belly appetizer. They were sizable servings. We were familiar with this dish and were very much looking forward to it. Huge disappointment.
I couldn't eat one piece. It was dried out and had absolutely no flavor as if boiled in plain water before frying. I couldn't even cut a cube let alone chew it. I took the rest home and simmered them in chicken broth. Even then I had to separate the sections of meat from the fat and use kitchen scissors to cut those squares into smaller pieces.
Another of our group took hers home for her husband; the third gave her platter untouched, to a person who showed up after we were served. She ate almost all of hers somehow.
One was very happy with her salad. I could have kicked her for saying so twice.
I had ordered a second appetizer of chicken taquitos. Bad but edible. I'm not a fan of pulverized chicken in any form and I was happy that I only had one piece to eat. The guacamole was good.
This place has an extensive menu but I don't expect to voluntarily return.
Did I say how the menu is in certain colors that made it difficult to read?
I do wish that we all had ordered different items that might have added a different voice to this review.
I sincerely hope that you're brave enough to give this place a try and that you're able to slam this review. I love seeing eateries survive.

We couldn’t reserve a table anywhere else, but this place came through for us and had a table reserved for New Year’s eve and we had the girls octopus and the shrimp and octopus ceviche. The food was delicious and they were also very helpful with the service I recommend this place.

The service was excellent and the decor funky, but major points lost on the food front.

While the octopus I ate was tasty, I got sick from eating something here, and I suspect it was one of my seafood appetizers. Not a good impression from my visit here since decor and services alone won't bring me back. I can't in good conscience recommend eating here if the food made me sick. :(

HAD A GET TOGETHER FOR A BIRTHDAY EVENT, AND WAS COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH JUAN CARLOS SERVICE AND RECOMMENDATIONS AT THIS PLACE, FOOD AND DRINKS WERE ON POINT 💯 ONLY DOWNFALL WAS THOSE SHOE STRING FRENCH FRIES THAT WERE UNBELIEVABLY SKINNY, I DON'T KNOW WHY THOSE FRIES ARE SERVED WITH THEIR EXCELLENT DISHES, MAYBE THEY CAN SUBSTITUTE THEM ON THEIR MENU FOR SOME STEAK SIZE FRIES, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS COMPLETELY FINE 👊💯🤠😎
