Urban Plates

One of my favorite places to eat. The food is absolutely delicious and they offer a variety of menu items. They have special 12 dollar plates. They also offer vegan items. They have a selection of wine and specially crafted drinks. The indoor seating was a huge area. They offer outdoor seating as well.

The food was decent, and the ambiance was nice, but the 3% surcharge for labor costs was disappointing. Tipping for self-service was also unexpected. It felt like the restaurant was passing its business expenses onto the customers. When I asked the cashier about the surcharge, I was told it was built into the system with no way to avoid it. Super food as claimed, but questionable business practices.

Outstanding customer service from Francisco! Our food was so fresh and delicious, the steak sandwich was the perfect lunch plate for a summer day. The restaurant was super clean and very fast service. Francisco was kind enough to lower the blinds for us and went out of his way to make our experience enjoyable.

First time here to this restaurant and this shopping center. Absolutely loved Both. Very busy lot at lunch time, highly recommend. Lots of options, very easy, you walk in, order, and we sat there and ate, our food came out quickly and was absolutely beautiful and full of flavor! Highly recommend the steak chimchurri. We didn’t have room for dessert but they looked delicious! Large portions, very friendly helpful staff, and the restaurant and restrooms were very clean. Fair prices. I would return and recommend. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor!

A plate that cost $16 last year now costs $20 and the quality has gone way down. Do you think I this is worth $20. The tomato soup was GREEN. I threw it away. The steak was overdone and some pieces were inedible. On top of the $20 for a to-go order, there is tax, an added 3 percent "surcharge" and the begging for a tip for coming into the restaurant and placing an order to go starting at 15%. I predict that they will be out of business by the end of the year .

Food was so fresh and delicious. We ordered a few dishes. The braised beef and mushroom stew is an amazing choice. The G/F chocolate cookie is really yummy too. Francisco provided such phenomenal customer service. Grateful! We will definitely be back.

This place is my go to for a hearty healthy meal. I got the Moraccan braised chicken with mashed potatoes. Staff is also very kind and knowledgeable of the menu, especially Owen. Highly recommend!

Purchased the Thanksgiving meal for four and it was absolutely delicious. Well prepared, packaged, and warm. Thanksgiving was so easy this year because of Urban Plates.

Urban Plates in Brea has always been one of my go-to spots, and the staff continues to shine with their kindness and efficiency. The service was great, and our food came out incredibly quickly, which is always a plus.
That said, I was a bit disappointed with the Moroccan chicken this time — it lacked the bold flavors I was hoping for. Additionally, the prices have noticeably increased over the years, which makes dining here less of the great value it once was.
I also miss the old layout from pre-COVID days, where you could select your food and receive it directly at the food stations. That unique experience added a fun and interactive touch to dining here, and I hope they consider bringing it back in the future.
Overall, while Urban Plates still has its strong points, I hope they revisit some of the elements that made them stand out in the first place!

Had a wonderful experience here with my gf. We had both ordered the steak plate alongside with the tuna plate. The food itself was quite delectable, with the food bursting with flavor, it was easy to enjoy thoroughly. My only complaint with our food was that some of the items were more on the colder side, other than that, we both enjoyed our experience. The staff was superb! We had dinner here the other night. We were those people who came in close to closing but not so close that employees can lock a door early. The workers here never let us feel like they were tired. They were excellent from the lady (Erin) who took our order, to the guy (Francisco) who ultimately bussed our table. A kind man checked on me while I was waiting for the rest of my family to arrive. Our food was fresh, promptly made, and yummy. Francisco and Erin L were wonderful to us! Thanks for making our first time here a fabulous experience
