California Pizza Kitchen at Brea Mall

Food: it's been a long time since I last visited CPK and surprisingly the food tasted how I remembered. The portion somehow felt a lot smaller than it used to though.

Service: our server was very nice and refilled the drinks even before he was asked to. It was pretty busy night and we were overwhelmed by his service.

Atmosphere: crowded and loud. I don't know how else I would explain. It was a decent place to go out ten years ago but I think I prefer to dine in quite places now.

The food was not quite the best quality that I’m use to when going to CPK the appetizer was good but they didn’t have my favorite appetizer dumplings and sauce , for it to be a chain restaurant I was very disappointed on the quality of the food , the salmon pieces were hard and over fried like hard not fresh at all way too crunchy , they didn’t have some of the beers on tap we asked for , brea get it together please . The appetizer were better than the main dish :/

So me and my wife went there yesterday and ordered a pizza. We observed the person making the pizza holding his phone, watching it, putting it back in his pocket while he's touching all the toppings. This obviously has to be against code and health and food administration policy. Can you imagine if they're doing that in front of people? Imagine what's going on back. Dirty, we will not be going to this company ever again for pizza

After a long day of taking my niece school shopping, I decided to put my name on the list to be seated. The host said 15 minutes, so we walked downstairs to go pick up our clothes from a store and they ended up taking too long, came back and the host said we missed our names being called at CPK and they had to put us at the end of the line. (Back in the day they used to give us vibrators so we know to come back, but maybe they stopped b/c of Covid) Anyway, We were so hungry and tired, we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes and it was just us two. The lady wasn't trying to help us so a male host came and I told him our situation and he talked to the lady host and they were able to find us a spot right away. (Being nice has its benefits) So CPK isn't as amazing as I remember, but it's still ok. We had the spinach artichoke dip, Szechwan Chicken Dumpling, Classic Chicken Caesar Salad, Barbecue Chicken Pizza, and for a drink I had the Watermelon Sangria. We enjoyed our meal and I think it got the job done. Try it out!

I ordered my cousin Gloria favorite dish and I’m glad that I did! It’s a tequila lime pasta I had with shrimp. The beverages took awhile to get, but tasted great. It was busy on Sunday so there was a wait.

Had a blood sugar emergency with a Diabetic family member and I was able to get her soda and some bread pretty quickly. They even goofed on our pizza and comped it. We also had the avocado spring rolls and those were great. The manager was amazing and the server was pretty nice.

I wanted to update my review.11/24/24.. what a big difference a good manager makes. I complimented him when there last time but it is a well run location now. Everyone working hard. Food was done on point and the manager was seen every where. Hands on. Compliments! Can totally notice the change ..........(this was my orginal review 7 years ago). Service was slow by the servers... the hostess was working hard. She was running around doing all diffetent tasks including straightening the messy restroom. Our server was not attentive at all. ... will be awhile before going back.. floor manager was out of site.

Food was decent. Nobody in front to greet us or seat us until after 5 minutes. When somebody finally approached us, Ill be right with you is all I heard. I wasnt thanked for my patience. No sorry about the wait was expressed. Will not return. Food

Nice location. Good service. The food is meh. Chicken was not premium; was nervy and kinda gross. Club egg rolls were good. Pizza is average which is not a ok for a restaurant that s literally named it.

The server was nice but she did not bring the complimentary bread and oil (and not enough for the party), a few missed opportunities AND 1 order was not put into the system which caused my party (the person we were celebrating for their birthday) to wait (no discount given either).

This was my first time at this location and I did curbside so I cant comment on atmosphere. The food was delicious. The service was good. They forgot a couple of items I requested on the order and had to go back in to retrieve but they were also very busy so I can understand as they made up for it in portion All around they get 4.5 stars.

Havent been to CPK in years, and was pleasantly surprised! Went around 5pm and there was no wait, but it definitely gets busier after 6pm. Would recommend the Neapolitan Burrata Pizza, Spinach dip, and Garlic Cream Fettuccine. The bread was also warm and fresh! Their drinks are on the sweeter side (could barely taste alch) so I would recommend sticking to wine instead. Overall service and food was great. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pizza & pasta options, and lots of salads Parking: Parking in the Brea mall lot

We went here for a birthday party. Only thing is its too bad that we cant reserve ahead of time and had to be there to be put on the list. Besides that the food was good and the service that we received by Bono was awesome!!! He was very attentive and humble. He made sure that we got everything we needed and kept on checking on us. Food wasnt terrible, but the service was terribly slow. It wasnt busy, we were one of only a few occupied tables, and there were just 2 of us. They took so long to take our order, and then the food took so long to come out that we ended up having to pack it all to go and eat in the car because we ran out of time. They also forgot the dressing for my salad somehow. The food wasnt terrible, even though we ate it cold. The gal who served our table was really friendly and great though.

I cant eat anything that contains cilantro, but the Chicken tequila fettuccine pasta is an exception! Though the lemonade was quite watery. Our server, Christina, very inattentive. Came in today at noon... probably 15 people dining. The person seating customers wanted to sit us at small table next to a family with loud toddlers. I told them no.. any other places? I was told.. No.. other places not available. We left and went to Cheesecake Factory. Insanity reigns at times.

Ive been to California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) at Brea Mall a few times, and Ive had mixed experiences. The food is generally good, but Ive had some issues with the quality of the food on a few occasions. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Tostada Pizza and the Salmon. The Tostada Pizza was soggy and burnt, and the salmon was overcooked. I was disappointed, but Ive had good experiences with the pizza and salmon at CPK in the past, so I think it was just a one-off issue. However, I did enjoy the Sedona Tortilla Soup and the Buffalo Cauliflower. The soup was flavorful and creamy, and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend these dishes to anyone who is looking for a good vegetarian option. Overall, I think CPK is a decent restaurant, but I would recommend going with a friend or family member so that you can try a variety of dishes.

I got it right away as bar seating was available. I am handicapped and it is difficult/painful to walk . The reason for the lower rating is due to the entry door for the handicap on the exterior of the mall was closed and locked. This forced me to walk around into the mall. A small thing but a painful one that should not have happened. Wheelchair accessibility: Not all disabled are in wheel chairs.

Typical CPK food, nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to food. Its a small restaurant as it is located inside the mall and not a stand-alone building. Service was average, nothing stellar. Had to flag down wait staff a few times for bread and plates.

We didnt eat there, and we went to another clean restaurant in the mall... And I want to add that the waiter saw the dirt on baby high chair and left it for me to clean it.. Bad experience

Toddler friendly? Maybe not. The hostess put us in a booth after 10 minute wait. Asked for a high chair. Informed not possible since it ll block the walkway. Asked for different seats as I need to put my 18-month old in a chair. I told her that I noted there were 2 kids during my check-in, the first thing she said was no, you didn t . After that it was all sour. Perhaps she didn t hear me at sign-in but at least word it nicely. I d recommend sorry, I didn t catch that earlier.

I ordered CA Club 7 inches with salad . Salad was good but the pizza was horrible.Very thick crust.full of shredded lettuce, few pieces of chicken and 3 slices of tomatoes and avocado . Crust was more than the actual pizza .I had 1 slice and threw the rest once I brought it home . Pic tells it all .Should get a full refund .Been here many times but this experience was horrible

They need to close those california pizza kitchen down, Its certainly not up to the standards that all the other ones are. The service was terrible, The hostess even though there were plenty of tables told us we had to wait and we did for about fifteen minutes. The staff seemed to not really care about the customers. Are we trust never even bothered to get us a refill on our drinks, And it took her forever to order our food. I can go on about her but oh well. What about the food you ask - I dont think it was up to standard thats california pizza kitchen normally does. When we try to get directions online to find the place we drove around in around the mall and found out that it was actually physically in the mall next to lazy dog.

The service was absolutely horrible, the waitress would go check on everyone s table except for ours. People that came in way after us finished eating before we could even get our food and my husband s burger was really red even though he had asked her for well done. When we complained to the manager the waitress looked even more bothered with us and she started to ignore our table even more. She also took forever to give us one refill the entire time that we were in the restaurant and that was only after I mentioned it to her manager but other then that she ignored us. Our experience was so terrible over all and we will not be returning ever again..

Our server was more interested in chatting with some girl at the bar, then taking care of his tables. He didnt ask me how I wanted my burger, so I ate around the raw parts, and there was no bacon on it. How does one expect a good tip if the service is bad?

We went on a random weekday, I ordered the spaghetti bolognese and it was AWFUL! burnt and dry. The waitress didnt even bother asking why I didnt eat it. I didnt complain, simply paid, tipped, and left. She was very attentive to those around us, but not our table. My husband had a pizza which was more lettuce than anything. Terrible! I will not be returning or recommending this place.

Horrible service!!! They said it would take less than 10 minutes to be seated. It took 20 minutes. . The server was hesitant to bring eztra bread to us. She took our salad away and we were still eating it. She did not even apologize. The Thai pizza was over cooked and dry. It was a bad experience. Will never go back.

Server rushed ordering, numerous times we were concerned about the fast, under-understang, and neglect taken forth upon asking us 6 times if we need more food, while already served alcohol and food. They offer rushed service, no care or concerns given that we told him: when we will let him know if/or when we needed more food or drinks. Upselling us was very rude, given the server had very little server knowledge of his own menu. CPK has turned into a commissary pre packaged, sauce, food, drink mass production corporate cheesecake factory, with too many options. They need to soil their roots to originality of their original business model.

The food was ok. This review is about the male greeter (caucasian shoulder length hair) and their co-worker (African American male) who were working late evening on 9/27. Did not catch their names. The Brea mall door that leads to CPK, does not work properly. You can not enter through the door once you get out of the mall. I brought this to the attention of these 2 gentlemen after being locked out for a while. It was after hours and I was hungry while my food was getting cold. I was told by them that I should instead contact mall management and CPK can not do anything about it. Really ? Try to learn to have some empathy and when customer gives a genuine feedback do something about it rather than shutting them up.

Be warned this cpk does not take $100 bill the server and staff will not tell you till you are ready to pay, we were in a dilemma because the mall was already close and no place to get change the night manager Roy was not helpful he basically told us it our responsibility then walked away refusing to help we were there over 20 min trying to get change, till one of the server came to our help to give us change from her tips.

To start, the place was HOT and smelled awful. We asked to be seated outside since it was nice out. We were greeted by our server, placed our drink order and our food order. Food came out and my pizza was not hot let alone warm. An error with my fiancés meal was caught and was rectified. Our server (who was so sweet) told us the manager was going to comp that meal for us and apologized. She then went to check the drink I ordered and brought it out, apologizing that the kitchen was backed up. It took a bit of time to bring out the bill due to the manager needing to adjust it. When it came out, there was no adjustment. We didn t alert anyone as we ate the meal and didn t ask for it to be comped but the manager had said it would be adjusted and it wasn t which made us a bit annoyed. We paid the bill and I only received the customer copy so I had to fill in tip on the one receipt available and was without one to take home. Also, no toilet paper in the women s restroom. Why didn t I bring this to the attention of our server? It seemed like many things were working against her. She was running out to deal with to go orders and was apologizing for the kitchen, the bar, etc. She was so sweet and was handling everything like a champ but we will not be returning.

I ate a good 7 inch pizza with BBQ Chicken and a pint of Sam Adams. The pizza was free courtesy of the Dodgers win at home. Go Dodgers! Update: Ate the pizza celebrating the two victories at yesterdays doubleheader and again vastly enjoyed my BBQ Chicken Pizza and Golden Road. The TV was turned on to the Dodgers channel allowing me to eat and watch immersed in all things Dodgers! Exceptional!

Unfortunately, this was our worst CPK experience. Hostess did not have it together. We were told it would be 15 minute wait, willing to wait although we had two hungry young children. After waiting 30 minutes and seeing others with the same number or more seated before us we approached the waitress station to be told that they were cleaning our table. Didnt see it happening, but we waited patiently. 10 minutes later after standing in front of the station she finally agreed to seat us. No kids menus were left or crayons provided as the table that was seated shortly after us. We quickly ordered our food. The waitress was friendly and courteous. The salad was good but the pizza was dry, barely had any sauce. Chicken dry, as if the pizza was sitting. Our table was never checked on to see if the food was good or if we needed refills on our drinks. So disappointed, this was to be a fun family outing. We will not be returning to this location.
