Mendocino Farms

I had lunch with a friend.
Since it was my first time here, I was thinking about what to eat, and ordered Avocado Quinoa Salad, Peruvian Steak Sandwich, and beer.
Only 4 kinds of canned beer were available, but it would be better if they sold draft beer.

The salad with fresh vegetables, avocado, and quinoa on the plate was very tasty. Especially with the dressing.
Peruvian Steak Sandwich was also a great combination of meat, vegetables, and bread, and the portion was large that I was full even after eating only half.
I was satisfied with food.
I'll try another salad and sandwich next time I visit.

Yummy salad with goat cheese, cranberries, apples, beets, greens, chicken & dressing. Also tried my partners sandwich with chicken & prosciutto with pesto. Yum! Ate outside under covered area with the dogs.

Walked in and it’s very clean! The menu is right next to the door so you won’t have to squint to see the menu up front.

Peruvian steak sandwich - bit spicy! must get it with the avocado! The creaminess helps the sandwich taste better in my opinion. This sandwich isn’t too big, so keep that in mind.

Thai mango salad - if you like some tartness in your salad, this one is a good choice. The chicken isn’t dry. Noodles at the very bottom was good as well. If you want something light, I’d recommend this dish.

Exterior: they do have outdoor seating and foosball table.

Price: reasonable but $2.00 for a little bit of avocado is a bit much.

The food is always good. But I visited the restroom there for the first time in all of my visits and it has me not wanting to go back. The bathroom is absolutely disgusting. It hasn’t been actually cleaned in a long time. The walls, floors, sink, and toilets are so gross. There are gnats everywhere, which makes sense considering how gross it is. If the bathroom looks this bad, makes you wonder what else doesn’t get cleaned.

The future of what I see restaurants being forced to move towards! This place gets it! Quality food with high nutritional value and fresh fresh fresh! Might seem alien to you fast food trolls first time you visit, but try the hand crafted soda's first, then you'll get hooked! At that point, you'll taste what real food is supposed to taste like.

Our group came hungry, after a long hike. And, Mendocino Farms hits the spot!

Good quality food with fresh ingredients. Many healthy choices Cute decor and they have an outdoor patio area. Some gluten free and vegan options here. Seating can get really crazy here during the busy lunch and dinner times. You can look for seating at the outside courtyard near Whole Foods (after you’ve gotten your food of course 😉)

Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada - love the superfood krunchies in this salad! And, of course, the avocado makes this salad filling. 🥑 The chipotle vinaigrette has a little kick but love it! This is my go-to whenever I go here. It always makes me feel like I’m eating super healthy but it’s also visually appealing and tastes delicious! 🥗

The Impossible Taco Salad - (One of our friends tried this salad) Plant-based Impossible chorizo was a little bland but felt good eating it (trying to be healthier) The Spicy Dijon Potato Salad was delicious.

Pink Lady Beets & Goat Cheese Salad - pink lady beets and green apples are crisp. The goat cheese makes this salad so yummy. Love the presentation! So beautiful!

Peruvian Steak Sandwich - The spicy aji amarillo marinated steak is so flavorful. The herb aioli is delicious.

Three of us in our group shared the Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada, Pink Lady Beets & Goat Cheese Salad and Peruvian Steak Sandwich. It’s a great way to try different menu items. The staff was very accommodating and brought extra plates so that we could share. They even cut the sandwich into 3 for us.

It was the perfect amount to fill you up for lunch without making you feel like taking a nap afterwards.

Overall, great food experience. I’m sure I’ll be back again.

It was scheduled for 5:15 pickup and she got the order in her hands at 5:32. Food here is really good but it should not take 20 mins in line to order a sandwich and premade side. Someone needs to create a little food more organized process to expedite what should be simple.

Been a customer for a long time. Was one of the first customers this AM. Was very surprised to see the place so filthy. Floors,Tables tray return and bathrooms were all a wreck. I guess when they close there is no cleaning for the AM. Makes me wonder what the kitchen and back area looks like?. Hopefully the Manger will see this review and make the needed improvements. Wife and I came by for a quick bite on a Saturday afternoon at 4:30 pm. We were disappointed with the whole experience. Food: Was not as good as our last time here (pre-Covid). The house beverages tasted strange. The Tajin Pineapple tasted and smelled like pre-chewed pineapple Bubblicious gum. To be clear, it smelled strongly of pineapple and tasted faintly of artificial pineapple flavorings. Chicken Tortilla soup tasted strongly of unripe tomato and not much else. The Chimichurri Steak sandwich tasted decent. I ate it and had to urgently locate a restroom 3 hours later. Not saying the sandwich was tainted but circumstances kinda pointed that way. Service: Slow. It looks 18 minutes from order to receiving our food. Otherwise it was consistent with peer restaurants. Atmosphere: The tables were dirty. The ones that were available looked like flocks of pigeons had eaten there and the staff didnt clean up after the birds had vacated. Wife and I picked the table closest to CDC compliance, cleaned off the crumbs and wiped down the sticky tabletop with water and sanitizer. nuff said. Verdict: Dont go and do not recommend. We lament the passing of the Brea Mendocino Farm we used to like.

******UPDATED REVIEW: Decided to give this location another try since we love the sandwiches! All I can say is they earned my trust and business! Food was ready on time and placed in the shelf. The sandwiches were made to perfection. They were filling and delicious. All fresh ingredients could be tasted.The bread was evenly toasted. Thank you Mendocino Farms for a great food experience. We will be back! Insane that none of the online orders were processed before the specified pickup time. My wasnt even started; they couldnt give me a definitive time when it would be done. The only response was all orders are 30- an hour behind. I canceled my order and demanded a refund only to be told no one at the store was authorized to issue a refund. The girl said they would be refunding several orders at the end of the night! Ridiculous.

Mendocino Farms has always been a favorite spot for us, but it seems that there has been a significant shift in the flavor of their food lately. In the past, they used to delight us with their incredibly delicious sandwiches and salads. However, I must admit that I havent been frequenting there as much as before. The dressing on my beloved quinoa and avocado salad, which used to burst with flavor, has become disappointingly diluted. It just doesnt taste as good as it used to. Moreover, even the sandwiches have undergone a noticeable change in taste.

I ordered a pork belly banh mi to go at the counter and left a name a phone number with the cashier. I was told I would be given a text message when the food is ready but I never received one. When I went to ask for it, they told me they didn t find my order. I told them what I ordered and they pointed a bag of sandwich called pork belly panini with a different name on it saying it s probably mine. I asked about the phone number and text messages but they said they didn t see any phone number under the order. The sandwich has too much sauce to me. Probably won t come back.

The food at Mendocino Farms have always been excellent. However, the service at this particular location is awful! The staffs are friendly toward one another but not to the customers. Lead staffs talks to fellow staffs instead of working. It took over 20 mins for our food to be ready and it was not even during the rush hours. We had to ask one of the leads about our food. Even then, it still took another 10 mins. Now I wish I had not tipped them!

I think it is the most delicious sandwich I have ever eaten in my life, I ordered the prosciutto with chicken and the sweet toasted almonds that I had, it is the most delicious, I loved the green water similar to alfalfa, I already want to go back on vacation to California to eat there again, sorry for the photo but I remembered to take it since I almost finished it. So today I will do a review of Mendicino Farms. This is a sandwich restaurant and of course they have other menu items as well...chips..salads...etc...so I am not going to rip it apart too bad...the food has been very good the 2 times I have been here...I get the avo turkey verde sandwich...it is filling ...I recommend it...ok now the not so good part...well today I was really looking forward to the lemonade...it is tops...I guess others think so too...it was sold out...now is that because of people going back for 2nds or 3rds? Or becuase people are able to get small plastic glasses which are for water but really sneaking lemonade? Or they just did not stock up...Idk....so I had to get a can of coke which ran 2.65...with no refill...like I said its a good place...dont get me wrong but maybe rethink the drink service...dont let things run out...dont let people get refill after refill...maybe 2 the most as the glasses are a medium size...and dont let the small plastic glasses b used for anything except water... I give this place 8 out of 10...just becuase of the missing lemonade...get that and u get a 10...

Mendocino Farms is great especially this location. Parking is easy most of the time and the food is great. The staff are very attentive and helpful. Not standing around. It can get quite busy so if you are in a rush I recommend ordering ahead. Seating can be a problem at times. The sandwiches are a great hit especially for the price. When you compare to a similar option such as Panera Bread, Mendocino Farms is leaps and bounds ahead both in quality and portions sizes to price. Definitely would recommend

Came for lunch with come colleagues and it was packed! We got the last table outside, I wish they would have better fans so it wouldn t be as hot. As for the food/ drinks. I got a rose lemonade and it was VERY sour, I had to add a lot of water it the drink. The rose flavor and sour lemonade seemed to be fighting over which flavor was most powerful and both were winning. As for the sandwich, I ordered the chicken pesto caprese and overall it was good. Unfortunately the bread was a little soggy from the sauces but overall had good flavor. I asked for their salsa verde and that had 0 spice to it which was disappointing.

We usually place an online order and call it in for any substitute. Ex. They dont have a Brioche bread option with online ordering. They ask u to order online and then call it in. Thats the only neg/ complaint I have with this place. 90 % of the time, the staff is friendly, especially the ones taking the order. And most of the time, they get our order correct. And dont get the mini salads. Not worth the money. Its really just for taste testing. Really, just 2 bites and done! The quinoa avocado salad is excellent

There were guests who ordered after us who got their lunch 1st. Dunno why. They do a lot of take out business. Maybe Ill order for pick up next time. Catering experience was disappointing. The website indicated that the store could take orders with less than a 24 hour notice but to call the store. When I did, Moe indicated that he could take the order and have it ready by 10am the next morning. He asked that I call and speak with Corey to inform him of the time Moe provided me with. When I called Corey the next morning, he did not honor the time Moe provided me with. I had to cancel the order.

Most of the time, mendocino is a solid choice for good american food, some healthy options out here too. I still thoroughly enjoy the chicken sandwich with candied almond slices. There are the occasional times where for some reason it took forever to receive the food, but the quality of the food is solid! When they transitioned to the qr code system with seat yourself at the table, it was a bit of a mess because scanning the qr code wasnt registering properly so we still have to ask the server for instructions. I havent been back in a while, but I hope theyve gotten that resolved. I think the last time I went back it took about 40 minutes to get food even though it was pass the dinner rush and there wasnt a crowd. Thats kind of why I havent been back in a while.

This location is very hit and miss. I have found a hair in my sandwich before and the last time I ordered the potato salad it tasted like it had gone bad. Vegetarian options: The vegan/vegetarian options are delicious if they make it right and there are no hairs in it.

Most people already know about Mendocino Farms (aka Mendo) but for those of you that do not here s a quick intro/personal opinion from me: Mendo is a great place for lunch, covered patio, AC cooled inside seating and friendly staff. Regardless of how busy it is, it will always look like it s busy inside because the staff is doing a lot to make the place clean and topped off in every way. Napkins holders are full, drink dispensers are never empty for anything longer than 10 - 20 minutes, staff is always available to answer questions or help get containers, food is always sourced from environmentally aware locations, menus are labeled with info for Gluten-free, Vegan and other dietary restrictions and it tastes delicious. None of the food isn t going to taste exactly compared to the actual dishes from a store that just serves those dishes or sandwiches but I feel like that s mainly because of the sauces and how Mendo chooses flavors, but that doesn t mean that it doesn t taste delicious. At this location they have lemonade infused with different favors that were really good (rose lemonade, turmeric and lemongrass lemonade and a green power lemonade with ginger, celery and other goodies). My wife ordered the Smoky Chicken Elote Bowl and I got the Pork Belly Banh Mi. There were a few small things that were pointed out with both dishes (pork belly was a little more fatty/oily that my wife would have liked and the chicken breast was a little dry in the Elote bowl) but they were still really good and the perfect amount to fill you up for lunch without having to make you take a nap before getting back to work. Again, super nice staff and they are good and fast at what they do. Gotta say it was a nice lunch date today. Also the last item that we enjoyed was no more table numbers, you take your receipt scan a QR code on the table and type your order number for the staff to know where to bring you food.

$27 dollars for a salad and sandwich. And it wasnt very good....just ok. Wont be eating there again. Sorry guys. I had the crispy chicken sandwich. The veggies on the sandwich were wilted and not crispy, the chicken was 2 breaded chicken tenders (cheap).....not even a breast of fresh chicken for the price they charge. The sandwich was dry and it came with nothing....just a small sandwich. Very disappointing. Then they ask you to scan a code thats on the table INSTEAD of just giving you a number. I guess they dont want to look for a number with only 10 people in the restaurant. I chose not to scan the QR code and guess what.....I got my food. I dont need more junk on my phone. OVERALL.....2 STARS

Wow what a great experience at Mendocino farms:) I usually go to the location in Tustin, but chose this location today. Mo and his team are excellent so friendly, efficient, and keep the location super clean. I was feeling indecisive on what to order and Mo took the time to ask what I normally order and what I like to eat. He was super kind, helpful, and patient. Great to see people who truly care about their customers. I highly recommend this location as everything from salads to sandwiches comes out perfect

Tried the club sandwich + the spicy curry. Food tasted fresh and flavorful. Will be trying out other foods from their menu.

Seating can get really crazy here during lunch sometimes. You can go to the outside courtyard near whole foods. Plenty of seating. My favorite sandwiches here are the prosciutto and the peruvian beef.

Wish I can give 0 star. The food is decent here, but the service isnt. We ordered our two sandwiches around 12:50pm online, system told us to pick up at 1:30pm, I arrived at 1:29pm, and then I got my order at 2:10pm. They literally forgot my order, as I keep asking the counter during the waiting, they just dont know what they were doing. Wasting peoples time on sunday is a big nono to me.

Food is healthy and good. Staff in person are nice. Lunch is usually overwhelming for the location and postmates orders are sometimes cancelled or dropped unexpectedly.

Eclectic food options. We ordered one sandwich between the two of us and it took 20 minutes to get it. Server was very helpful and very very courteous!

Not a lot of vegan options but I do love their vegan bahn mi sandwich and spicy potato salad. The staff are friendly. Its crazy busy and crowded inside though, and not a very pleasant atmosphere. Definitely will only be doing takeout from now on.

Skip this place if you re thinking about a nice, peaceful dinner with your partner or friend. We came around 7pm and sat outside with our dog and glasses of wine, hoping to relax as the sun set. Didn t happen. There was a large family with several young kids out of control. They were running up and down the bench seats, literally screaming and yelling constantly. No parent stopped them. I could barely hear my husband speak. It s not the restaurant s fault, but it completely ruined our dinner and we just wanted to leave asap. We won t be back.

Heres why the 3 stars. I got the chimichurri steak and bacon sandwich with gluten free bread. The GF bread was actually really good (but it did cut the inside of my mouth), they only charged $1 for it and the steak was cooked perfectly so all that was great. The overall flavor of the sandwich was pretty good except it had a vinegary taste to it like they used Italian dressing and not chimichurri. Im very picky abt chimichurri and this WASNT it. Also the sandwich was all bread and very little filling yet it cost an arm and leg - $1 for GF bread, tax and 15% tip put the cost over $18!!! Size matters and i rarely finish a whole sandwich in one sitting, yet i ate the whole thing. Def not worth it and I wont be back

If you want to get a taste of Beverly Hills in Brea, come here! The food is loosely health-oriented, eclectically presented and the establishment is a pleasant place to sit and enjoy. You get the impression that the patrons are disconnected with reality; inflation clearly isn t a problem for people who can pay $20 for a sandwich with a drink and gossip for hours in the middle of the day on a Tuesday.

Mendocinos sandwiches hits the spot. Perfect portion and great ingredients that will satisfy your brain for the rest of the day. Some of my favorites are Peruvian Steak, Chicken Pesto Caprese, Chimichuri Steak and Shishito Bowl, Pink Lady Beets and Goat Cheese Salad. The patio overlooks the water fountain in the plaza. You can take your food to the water fountain area. However, you cannot take your beer outside.

Put in my order with plenty of time got there 20 min early and I kid you not there were about a dozen people working behind the counter seem like an awesome place and efficient place to be at but was disappointed because my order was not even pull and had to wait over ten min more so my wait time was 30 min total I think they need to review themselves to make sure that customer satisfaction is met :(

My pickup time was 1:15pm, but I was able to receive food 1:45pm. When I complain against her and asked for a refund, the server threw my togo bag to the table, saying the food just came out. It was a very unpleasant experience.

First time visiting. WOW! If youre in the mood for healthy choices, this is definitely the place. I ordered the steak & shishuto bowl, so delicious and very filling. Dine in is available and it gets packed. This location is very nice. Located in the whole foods shopping center. Decent prices and everything is fresh. Its definitely a restaurant to check off on the bucket list.

Cannot provide a zero rating, hence providing a 1 star rating. We placed an order online yesterday around 2:15PM with an estimated pickup time of 3:00PM. We arrived at 3:05PM and was told to wait for 15 more minutes since there was some delay - perfectly fine. Having repeated this couple more times, we finally cancelled the order at 4:00PM. The staff is courteous but they provide wrong information. I could see several other customers waiting in line for their turn. Also, I noted that the staff is filling orders after order partially, instead of completing the order. At certain stage, you would assume that they would stop taking further orders and complete the incomplete ones - but no - they kept on piling more customers. Since the customers waiting were getting frustrated, they started cancelling their orders. Now you have 3/4 complete orders cancelled and piling up and new incomplete orders being processed. There was no adult supervisor to manage the situation. There was no staff shortage, in fact, all of them seem to be hovering around the kitchen asking for order status, making the situation even worse. If you clearly explain the problem we can understand and make alternate arrangements. Instead, you dont value our time and make us wait for such long time. Even today, hours after this incident, my credit card charges are still not reversed. At this point I wouldnt be surprised to find that even the refund is not processed. Please step back for a bit, take a look at what happened and how you can avoid these situations.

This place has great food. But the wait time for anything is out of control. We ve called in orders, ordered on site, and ordered through DoorDash. Almost always it will take at least twice the quoted wait time. I understand it s popular, but let s be real they re sandwiches and salads. An hour and a half to make one sandwich and one salad is ridiculous. Go over to the other side of the center and get a sandwich from urban plates.

This place has some bomb sammys! My favorite is the steak bistro sammy. It has amazing flavor that pops in your mouth! I would definitely recommend coming here if your in the mood for a good sandwich.

I hate to do this, but worst experience ever. I am an Uber driver and it took them 45 minutes to give me the order. Please note we don t get paid for the wait time. This was the worst wait ever and it wasn t as busy as usual.

I thought I was getting a good sandwich and salad. My sandwich was $12 somthing and my salad was a whopping $15. Both are so small and pitiful, I feel cheated. Eveything was so cold I had to wait until it became room temperature to taste it.

Cody was AMAZING he went through every dressing for me one by one to see which ones I could eat due to my allergies. The staff is incredibly kind at every location Ive been lucky enough to try. Thank you Mendocino for having yummy vegan options and healthy too! Highly recommend.

Expensive food. Meh. Most items have a spicy element. Meh. Choices for beverages are sugary carbonation or warm water. Blah. My kids love their salads, though. Yay. Kids eat free Thursdays is just the kids meal items Green apples arent their favorite, particularly when theyre brown. Blah.

Ordered online and said it would be ready to pick up at 7:15. Have been waiting for 1 hour inside the restaurant and the staff said be honest with you , it will be another 20 minutes.

Made me sick. I know this is what made me sick because it s all that I had for dinner before heading in for work. Had the spicy turkey, it tasted really good so you can imagine my distress when my stomach tried to kill me the rest of the night. Do not eat here, maybe it was a fluke but how disgusting and unsanitary do you have to be to poison a turkey sandwich?

I think I just had the best meal I ve ever had in my life. The Vegetarian Pesto Caprese Sandwich and side of Summer Corn and Farro Salad blew my mind! I m not a vegetarian but this made me realize I d be perfectly fine with it. Still in shock

My girlfriend and I decided to go to Mendocino Farms for dinner. When we walked in, we noticed the front door was propped open. While ordering food, I felt flies crawling on my legs. We should have left at that point. We ordered salads and waited for our meals. While sitting at the high top table, we had to shoo flies away. We were sitting where I could see the counter where prepared food was left to be picked up by patrons. I noticed that food would sit out and multiple flys would land on it. I walked up to the counter and saw my salad next to sandwich that had two flys on it. I let the young man at the counter know about the fly sandwich, and he graciously offered to replace my meal. I explained I did not notice flies on my salad, but I did not want to leave it there while we waited for my girlfriends salad. I went back to my table and noticed the young man was telling a girl in the food prep area about the fly sandwich. Her name tag said Susie. I could tell from her body language, and the young man shrugging his shoulders, she was very dismissive of my concern, and was not happy about having to remake the sandwich. My girlfriends salad came out and she grabbed it immediately. I asked that my salad dressing be tossed and requested a tortilla. I did not get a tortilla and my dressing was on the side. While eating our dinner, we noticed more prepared food left on the counter that was attacked by flys. It is clear the staff does not care about food safety and the well being of their patrons. This was a very dissapointing experience and I want other patrons to be aware of the fly problem at this location.

If youre looking for a great meat tasting sandwich thats vegetarian you have to try the Unreal Ruben. Its so good and I couldnt believe it wasnt made of meat! Its a plant based sandwich. Rye bread, coleslaw and pickle inside with a bit of kick. I took of a star because 1. I asked for white bread instead of rye, as I dont like rye bread, but they still made it that way. The redeeming factor is that it tasted really good despite being rye. 2. Service was a bit slow. All I ordered was a sandwich and it took a good 15 minutes to get it. Not the best if you are in a hurry. I wound go back for that sandwich though.
