My first time here tonight and it was amazing. I came to celebrate my 40th birthday and this place did not disappoint. The service was amazing, the food was so good, and the restaurant was beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date night or special occasion! It's pricey but worth it for sure.

Had a lovely dinner at OBCH. Glad we used Resy app to reserve, we didn’t wait long to get seated on a very busy Friday night.
Started off with a lemon drop martini ($15) which was perfect after a long work week. Our server Sergio made the right recommendations: we thoroughly demolished our burrata appetizer ($19) with the freshly baked assorted breads.
Made the right choice in picking Braised Short Ribs ($39) which was soooo tender and delicious! My husband really enjoyed his double cut Pork Chop ($38) - so thick and juicy and yummy. Our side creamed corn with bacon steak ($24) was a great complement to our main dishes.
Service was attentive and not rushed. We can’t wait to return to try the other dishes on the menu. The bar looked really fun as well, maybe we’ll be back to watch some football on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Parking can be a hassle but there’s valet and a short walk to some parking structures… It is located next to Improv and YardHouse.

My husband took me here for my birthday! I was blown away by their customer service. They seem to have a loyal customer base. The food was delicious, although my filet mignon was under cooked, that was quickly fixed. The toffee cake they give for birthdays🎂 it out of this world the best I had at similar type restaurants. We will definitely go back

The food was so delicious! My husband and I split a 10oz. Filet Mignon, the gnocchi, and the potatoes au gratin. It was all so incredible and the portions were a great size. We were sooo full by the end and we still had leftovers of the sides. We wished we had space for the butter cake because it looked so good every time it passed by.

Me & my man went for our anniversary we had the last reservation at 9:20am on a Monday night & left at 10:40pm (they close at 10pm) we were the last ones there, no one made us feel rushed to eat & service continued to be amazing. Our server was a Hispanic male (forgot his name). We ordered charcuterie board, beet salad, tomahawk , brussles sprout, truffle fries , moscato.. everything was delicious!
We were recommended by my sister & her husband because they had nothing but good things to say.

Old Brea Chop House is absolutely top-notch. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just perfect—classy but not stuffy, with an ambiance that makes you want to linger over every bite.
The steaks were phenomenal, cooked perfectly, and packed with flavor. You can tell they take their craft seriously here. The sides? Just as memorable. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared, not just thrown on the plate.
The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, but never overbearing. It felt like they genuinely cared that we had a great experience.
Honestly, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back, not just for the food but for how it all comes together—the atmosphere, the service, and the overall experience. Can’t wait to visit again!

i enjoyed the entire visit, and reserve the last star for my next visit.
a cozy relaxed dining spot, that shares the building with the improv and the reunion diner.
The annual family dinner, was filling and the sirloin steak was prepared the way i prefer.
Jordan, guided us through selections at the bar. Bo and Cat were the attentive dynamic duo keeping the meal progressing. Can't say that I'm a salad aficionado, but the field salad was quite good.
i know, I'm babbling as the cocktails were good without hinting at the alcohol that was in there, and I'm still savoring the memory of each sip.

Extremely pretentious and terrible customer service. The head manager (a man whose name I don’t know), told me that he would need my table eventually even though I wanted to get seated 10 min BEFORE my reservation to get started early. Absolutely no skills in customer service to graciously communicate any seating policies-simply skipped over acknowledging me as a customer with a reservation to let me know just how insignificant he feels people are in lieu of his future reservations. He was an idiot and I was so incredulous at his thoughtless illogical response so me wanting to open my wine and get seated at 3:45 in the afternoon (it was still light outside!!)—i told him he can have his table and left. They suck and I don’t care if they built a reputation on good food—they better get it together service wise to keep a high end clientele. I will be sharing this negative experience with everyone I know in the area.

Went to old brea chop house to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. I got the braised short while a fairly simple dish it was really good, and it was served on some of the creamiest mashed potatoes I’ve ever tasted. The service and ambiance was really good as well. If you’re going to catch a show at the improv I highly recommend stopping by before to grab a bite to eat.

If you are looking for a special occasion spot in Northern Orange County, look no further. We had cocktails, appetizers, salads, steaks, seafood, sides, and desert. There was not a single dish that disappointed. Service was spectacular. They go out of their way to make you feel like you are the most important customer in the room. Overall a fantastic dining experience.

Came on for lunch to celebrate. it was lunch time so somewhat busy., Went to the bar but was practically ignored buy the female bartender. Waited quite a bit for the bartender to to acknowledge us. Ordered a beer and champagne and my husband got his beer but I waited until she served another beer to a customer then proceeded to walk back to the back room to pick up plastic tubs . Brought them back but still no champagne. Guess her brain got lost. We are good tippers but not this time.. We are very successful retired business owners . We tipped 20% because that’s what we do. However we will never be back. She was terrible . Never ever be back.

When we first walked in, we were excited. At first glance, this restaurant showed sophistication and promise. It has a very cool like new York or Chicago feeling ambiance, very moody and rich, with dark accents and lighting.
The food is good. We ordered the rib eye sandwiches and a lobster grilled cheese. Our rib eye sandwich was tasty. We were expecting a sliced steak but what we got was shaved steak. Might have missed that description on the menu. If so, my bad. However, for a $24 price point per sandwich, it could have been better perhaps. The lobster grilled cheese came recommended by our server but we would not recommend it. Lobster was perhaps overly fishy tasting.
As for drinks, I ordered the old brea old fashioned. It was very good and worth the price of $17.
Last for our meal was dessert. We enjoyed the desserts. We tried a selection of desserts: warm butter cake, creme brulee, and the sorbet trio. The warm butter cake was delicious, and the sorbets were pretty good. The creme brulee was just okay.
There were some other things that made our experience less than 5-star. First off, the owner or manager (I'm assuming. He had a laptop at the bar and was showing the hosts something on the laptop) was on his phone and talking business maybe like 6 feet from our booth. At the time of his call, the restaurant wasnt that full so we could hear his whole conversation and he was leaning against a wall and facing us for most of his call, making us feel like we were part of his work call.
Additionally, this restaurant does staged courses, meaning they swap out your utensils for each course. That's fine, makes it feel fancy. However, our server did kind of awkwardly reach across us to get the silverware and a bit quick to reach for our plate assuming we were finished. So that felt a bit, brusque. Another thing is that the kitchen is open toward the restaurant. The kitchen was a bit cluttered and messy looking and off to the side were stacks of cardboard boxes of kitchen stuff or supplies, really detracting from what would have been a cool feature of seeing the kitchen. Then the booth we sat at, there was a host/server station right behind our seat. The restaurant is on the small side so I understand that space is limited. However, it felt kind of weird to all of a sudden hear the servers working stuff out right at my ear pretty much. And then last thing, the lighting of our booth, on one of the seats, the ceiling light shines directly on you sitting there like a spotlight. If that could be addressed that'd be great.
So, in conclusion, this restaurant has great promise, especially if the above are addressed. It'll still be on the pricier side, but with the ambiance (minus the detractions) of this restaurant, it could be a place to come back to. As for us, we are on the fence if we want to give this spot another chance.

Delicious steaks and sides. Our favorite is prime rib cap for two. Good service but wait time is way too long even with a reservation (Saturday 8pm). We got seated at 8:30pm and didn’t get our food until around 9:10pm.

Poor service, worse food. Ordered a lobster cocktail, once served I noticed the lobster was green. I complained to the server, who told me "male lobster are green, and that is perfectly fine to eat." Wrote a negative yelp review. Owner responded (offline in a DM) by once again blaming me, then stating "no one noticed" when we left the restaurant. Stay classy, Tony. I'm sure you'll be in Brea for years and years /s.

Was out on a date and they sat us down with a group of 6 loud dudes who were very rowdy. Instead of a nice quiet evening out it was like we're in a sports bar. Plus the menu needs to be changed or the lightning. Either way couldn't read it. Despite all that the food and staff were great!

Love it here! This is a spot for a night out for a special occasion or just a couple after dinner drinks at the bar. Bar seats are first come first serve but if you let the hostess know they accommodate you as best they can. It's not a place for sports watching but the do have a couple tvs you can watch. The owners Tony and Dani are usually walking around and very friendly. If you're at the bar ask for Jordan. They are all great but he's the best. This place has the best Espresso Martini, be patient when waiting for it, but it's worth the wait.

The place is very very unorganized. We group of 5 ppl have been waiting 1.5 hrs (yes) for entries to come. The waiter only stopped by once during the time and did not even fulfill the water. When we questioned about the unreasonable waiting time, he had no apology nor any intention to help, but only ask us to wait. We asked if we can have some bread during the waiting time, but he just simply told us “we don’t have bread.”, and the left. Not until we asked the manger, did we receive the bread (yes, they do have bread). The whole experience was awful and uncomfortable. This is the worse experience I’ve ever had. I never expected it to happen in such fancy looking restaurant. Even though the waiter finally showed apology in the end and waived the bill, I won’t come back again. The food is ok but not worse any revisit in this case.

First of.all the food was GREAT. However I t3lt as if my experience was an after thought by your staff. I was there with my wife for our anniversary. Now when I havenbooked with other upscale restaurants they usually ask if I am celebrating anything so they provide a specia experienc for the occasion, however here NOTHING.
Our water was rushing by to let us know that he would.btntakingmvare of us only after seated at the table for 15 min.
Even when he did come he appeared as if he wasngoingnsomewhere else. He however did stay long enough to.explain the specials and told us he would be.back soon. During that time NO ONE cam , as opposed to the larger tables to offer bread or take drink orders.
It was only after my meal.came.that I advised him that I would like a beer.
During my initial contact with this waiter I told him that we chose the Chop house from a recommendation from my son in law because it was our anniversary.
Once we completed our meal he threw the fact that I told him it was our anniversary back at us and said that I told him that because I wanted something free.
I thought that was extremely rude but didn't make a scene of it.
Overall the food was GREAT BUT WAS TAKEN BACK BY THE LOUD NOISE AND THE POOR SERVICE.

This place is a must while visiting Brea. The service is great, the food is amazing, and the ambiance is that of a traditional upscale steak house. We dropped a pretty penny between my wife and I but it was well worth it as the food was fresh and made with high quality ingredients. I highly recommend the steaks here and ask your server what they recommend for sides because they did not let us down! My wife has been asking to go back for some time now and it's about time we revisited.

Our bartender, and 2 servers (Sam & Jeffrey) were on point with service (including our Food Runner and Service Assistant). The GM did a table visit, which is always a nice touch. A nice gentleman he was.
One small suggestion, host team need to have more of a welcoming “warm” greeting. I felt she was a little overwhelmed and there was no eye contact. Hence there were a few of them.

The mac n cheese is so different from what you would think but you just keep eating it very good. Oohhh and the dessert trust me save a little room because it's delicious 😋..
Now i don't know all the kitchen staff positions the last on the line before the food goes out to tables notice that we were being ignored and nobody came to table for a bit and he reached out to oscar and turned the experience around and made for a great night. And especially the special filtered water and the extra charge for sitting next to the kitchen 😁.
Watching the kitchen staff move around as fast as they did was a cool experience watching them turn order after order and everything looked delicious 😋

We got there at 445 on a Thursday, place not very busy at all. We sat at the bar because the next available seating was at 830. The bartender took our order and then went on his break. We get water and the smallest 6oz diet coke bottle I've ever seen that cost 7 bucks. Our water had no ice and every bartender who would replenish our water with no ice. We get our soup and salad to start before our main meal. 30 minutes go by and everyone around us got their food but us. So apparently the original bartender who disappeared never put in our order nor did he pass on any info to any other bartender. I brought this problem to the manager who barely spoke English only to say he was sorry. After 10 minutes he comes to us and said we should be getting our food soon and that was all he did or said. We finally got our food after approx 45 minutes with no excuse other then the original bartender with his attitude took off and carelessly didn't put in our order. Food was good but service sucked for no good reason.

Been here about 10 times throughout year and a half whenever i get a chance that I’m near . Peruvian scallops are delicious and fresh . Steaks are very juicy tender . Great combination of sides and their cocktails on point fresh and delicious. Bartenders give a great vibe energy . The service always helpful and happy they make you feel good hard to find nowadays . Managers are kind and cool very friendly. Only thing is you need reservations if you’re not trying to wait or you can sometimes get a quick seat at bar but this place is busy the secret of their Greatness is out . Enjoy it you won’t regret it .

I was craving a ribeye, and after reading excellent reviews about this place, my coworkers and I decided to share our meal. To start, we ordered Scallop Crodu, Poke, and Bone Marrow. The Scallop Crodu and Bone Marrow were delicious, while the Poke was just okay. Our main course was a 32 oz Ribeye with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Unfortunately, the Ribeye was just average for the price, as I've had better at other steakhouses for less money. The mashed potatoes were good, but the asparagus was overcooked and mushy. On a positive note, our server provided excellent service.

It was a birthday surprise dinner :) my boyfriend made reservations here and he did good!
The atmosphere looked like a traditional steak house. For a Tuesday it looked busy with special holiday events and birthday celebrations. Although we had reservations it took a minute to get seated. Once we were seated it took a bit of time to get our drinks ordered and appetizers ordered. I was super surprised though how quickly the drinks and food came out. Loved the music in the restaurant, wish I was able to hear it better but like I mentioned it was a busy night. Perhaps, that’s why it took awhile to order our drinks, apps and food.
I had the Manhattan Milk Cocktail. It was delicious! It’s their version of a Manhattan and hit the spot. Then we had the scallops for an appetizer and they were so delicious! The citrus and soy sauce just was Devine and we were sad only 6 in the order haha
Then for our main dinner we ordered the chef’s special which we chose for ribeye cap (20 oz), with Gnocchi mushroom in a black truffle sauce and brussel sprouts with bacon as our sides. We ate every bite, even though we were so full! I was recommended the Hoopes Cabernet Sauvignon and it complimented the dinner so well. My bf had the nitro brew cocktail and not particularly his favorite. The meal came with a butter cake and they also gave me a toffee cake for my bday. We were not going to say no to two desserts! Both were so delicious!! I would have finished it but we were so full!!
So glad he chose this spot.

My husband and I were very excited to eat here. However, this was definitely not the right spot for a romantic date night. The tables are so close to each other you can easily hear everyone else’s conversation. The chairs are so close they touch the back of the chair of the person seated at the next table. The noise level was a constant dull roar.
On top of that both of our steaks were not cooked properly. My husband ordered a nearly $100 dollar steak and asked for it to be medium rare. What he got was rare. I ordered the filet mignon and asked for it medium, but received medium rare.
The other items we ordered were delicious though. The bacon wrapped scallops, Mac and cheese, OBCH fries, carrot cake and crème brûlée were all incredible.
The wait staff was friendly, professional and attentive.

Food was amazing. Service was great. My only issue was it is a bit too dark. Too many people had use their flashlights to read the menu.

I'm torn about this place. I placed a reservation. Showed up on time. And they still made us wait 20 minutes (same time as standby people it seemed) so it was off to a weird start. When we were seated it turned out waiters were nice but were attentive in odd ways. Such as I ordered a drink and the second I was done it was off the table but they didn't ask if I wanted another. I had to wait to get their attention and ask for another that took a bit. And when we asked for boxes they knew we had sauces but only gave us boxes. It wasn't until we were placing the sauces in a box that the brought the smaller containers for sauces... It was honestly just small things that made it an okay and not good experience. The food was good. I enjoyed my pork job and the steak was good. It's good for the area but I am unsure if I'd give it another try in the future when half what you are paying for is an experience.

This is the best steakhouse I have ever been to. There are food options to satisfy almost everyone. The French onion soup is almost a meal in itself and incredible. Then the steaks are nothing but awesome. The chef also knows how to cook them perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. They were also great dealing with my wife’s allergies.
Sorry for not taking more pictures but we were so busy eating such a great meal, I forgot to take pictures 😢
If you want the best dining experience, come here.

OMG!!!!
This place is amazing. The service! The attentiveness of the servers were exceptional. As for the food, Amaaaaaaaazzing!!!!! I highly recommend the Grilled 🥓 steak AKA Giant bacon 🤯 wait that's not it. The dessert, OMG!!!! Mind blowing, mouth watering explosions. The chop house Sunday is a chocolate cake warmed up with ice cream but wait, thats not the best part. This desert comes with this smore's style marshmallow thats so warm and gooey. I cant say anymore you all have to experience it. I Highly recommend this place.

Our initial experience at this establishment was fantastic, prompting a return a week later to ensure it wasn't merely a coincidence. The second visit to Old Brea Chop House, while slightly falling short of the first, remained very enjoyable! In my humble opinion, there's room for improvement in ensuring the host staff and management consistently provide an inviting atmosphere, extending the warm welcome to all guests, not just regulars.
Similar to our first visit, the ambiance and service were amazing, creating a delightful atmosphere. Zach, our bartender, stood out with his attentiveness and informative responses about entrees and other menu items. A special shout-out to the bar staff for recognizing and celebrating the Marine Corps birthday and Veterans Day with us! These thoughtful touches truly enhance the dining experience.
This time, I opted for the burger based on a previous recommendation, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. It was the most under-seasoned burger I've ever had--just a sprinkle of salt and pepper could have made a significant difference. The brick-grilled Mary's chicken also lacked seasoning, despite being perfectly cooked.
On a brighter note, the ricotta gnocchi with crab, BBQ shrimp, and grilled oysters were absolutely perfect and lived up to expectations. Despite a couple of disappointments, the overall visit was enjoyable, thanks to the excellent service and those standout dishes. Anticipating my next culinary adventure!

Food was okay. Filet mignon 10oz felt really sad. Potato au graiten isn’t as great as I expected it to be. The only thing I would recommend is the truffle gnocchi. Delicious and worth coming again for it!

You will never find a better bang for your buck at a high end steakhouse, and we wine and dine quite a bit. We drive 45 mins consistently to eat here, and never branch out from the Ribeye Cap. The service is always top notch. Never had a bad experience. When people come from out of town, this is where we bring them. Thank you Tony for continuous excellent dining experiences!

Came here for the 1st time and I would come again and recommend it to anyone. We started out with the Roasted bone marrow! So scrumptious when you eat it with the bread and salad it comes with! It was followed by the Roasted Beet Salad which was very flavorful and refreshing, I couldn't get enough... kepp in mind I hate beets, but this salad was incredible. Our main entrée was the Rib Eye Steak, a 1.5 lb lobster tail, Mac & Cheese and the Wild & Field Mushrooms. The lobsters was slightly undercooked from the bottom but this was a thick lobster, the majority was cooked and delicious. Steak was perfectly a medium rare and the sides did not disappoint one bit. An amazing experience all around. Got there in time for our reservation and we were seated immediately. We sat right across the kitchen. At first I though it would bother me seeing all the activity from the kitchen but I found it lovely and enjoyed seeing all the different dishes passing by. Restaurant is dim, loud and perfect for first dates, anniversaries, celebrations and pretty much any adult occasion.

Incredible steakhouse in Brea. Been fortunate enough to have been able to eat at some truly great restaurants and this place never disappoints. Every dish on the menu has been well thought out and is executed to perfection. Can't recommend this place enough.

The food is average and overpriced. Management was not hospitable the night we dined and made sure we knew we had overstayed our 2-hour time limit.

A very good steakhouse. Bone-in filet was terrific and cooked to a perfect mid-rare. Skip the steak sauce trio and order the gnocchi & mushrooms as a side dish. The sauce is unbelievable! Great ambience inside, save the 3 tables right next to the kitchen. Very bright, loud and a lot of foot traffic.

Was treated to the Old Brea Chop House while on a business trip. Free food always tastes better, but this food was beyond expectations. Atmosphere was amazing, service was outstanding, and food was mind blowing! I got the Cajun Ribeye, Medium, was perfectly cooked, melted in my mouth, so easy to devour the whole 16 oz of delicate steak! We did community sides, got 4 and passed them around for everyone to enjoy. Mushrooms, au gratin potatoes, gnocchi, and brussel sprouts, they were all excellent. To finish the night we had the carrot cake and butter cake, both were delicious, but the butter cake may have been one of the best tasting desserts I have ever had! Check was enormous, but totally worth it!

Rack of lamb was chewy and lacked flavor. Burger ordered medium came well done. Ranch dressing tasted like vinegar. Short ribs demi glace was too buttery. Service was really good. Atmosphere was noisy.

Food was great, as advertised. Place was nice. Took wife for her birthday. Our two waiters were extremely friendly, but the time it took them to check back in for drinks, our needs, the check was way too long. It was a Wednesday evening, we were told it was a slow night... but we felt like we had to flag down down the guys for any need we had. However there was a table of 6 or 7 that was checked on much more frequently than us. Not sure why, but it was bothersome. Definitely would go back, food and people were nice but please do better job of attending all your tables, not just the big business party
