J Sushi Brea

Discovered J Sushi in Brea one night for some take-out during this pandemic and have been a faithful, returning customer ever since. The whole family agrees that their food is delicious and fresh. My personal favorite is the Paradise Roll. It is a refreshing and tasty roll wrapped in cucumber instead of rice. It is delicious!

In addition to their fresh, delicious sushi, they follow the CDC and local guidelines for places to eat and that reassures me that they also follow other healthy guidelines in their food preparation areas as well.

Currently, there is no dine-in or outside dining available...but that is totally okay! I still order to go foods and tip to help keep this place going.

They wear masks, require customers to do the same and practice safe social distancing. Only one customer allowed inside at a time. I order off their website which is super easy and pay online. They always offer help out to my car since my orders are large usually for the whole family. I love their food, their service, and their business practices.

So we just finished working out at LA Fitness, it's 7:30pm.... We decide we're too lazy to cook and agree to go out for Sushi. Is it the best sushi? Maybe not, but definitely a great value for your money. This isn't a Date night kinda place. I would recommend going to this establishment.

Great customer service / thanks Kathy 🌺 we had a party of 6 and Kathy was always checking to make sure everything was ordered and out. pretty fresh Sushi, came out fast.. The only issue I had was the cucumber salad and seaweed was not fresh at all..

Salmon sushi wasn't fresh, it was glossy/slimey. And the ramen was just not good. Only good thing was the Volcano Roll but my only comment was it didn't say in the menu that it had shrimp so I was not able to have it but my kids liked it.

lunch yesterday at J sushi in Brea. the food was fresh and tasty. i had the paradise roll --no rice-- and some baked mussels. all was yummy. the food came out without too long a wait and the staff was friendly and efficient. i will eat here again; and so should you.

J Sushi Brea is pretty good! The food here tastes delicious the quality isn’t the best of the best but for the price you pay it’s definitely worth it. The service here is amazing. It was very clean and well managed. Seems like they have a great takeout system in place if you are looking to grab something quick on the go or take it home for a nice night in. Overall I’d recommend giving this place a try. It’s well worth it.

Very disappointed in my online order today. I had it scheduled for 5:15, email to prove it, but received a text that it was ready at 4:07. I showed up at 5:00 and ask if it was fresh and they said yes. No, it had been sitting there almost an hour. The tempura was soggy. Very disappointed.

I liked the very friendly serving and the introduction of the menu. I ordered about five things, but the food came out quickly and it was very fresh. Udon is really good for dessert. I highly recommend it as a good restaurant.

This is not reviewing their food since I wasn’t able to try it. The restaurant closes at 9 pm. I arrived at 8:28 pm and was told that they had their last call so they refused service. I’ve been to other restaurants that serve even 10 minutes prior to their close time.

Good sushi at an affordable price- The rolls are very nice- sushi is also good- Portions are excellent compared to the price. The food comes out quite quickly. Service is nice as well. Parking is relatively easy. It's not as crowded with many take outs- I will be coming back to get some delicious sushi/rolls at an affordable price-

I had the sweet & spicy tuna on a crunch roll & it was delicious & the presentation was beautiful. Very friendly establishment & wonderful service. I will definitely pop in when I’m out that way. 👏🏼😊

We were visiting the area and decided to stop in based on the reviews. We arrived at 8:25 pm and told us they couldn’t help us as they close for dinning in at 8:20 but in Google and everywhere it said they closed at 9pm. We thought it was very rude and we instead they can help us. If that’s their hours they should change it in Google and everywhere else.

I came to dinner with my family and my 4 year old nephew. There were so many options for all of us. My nephew can be picky when we eat out, so my sister bought him the bento box. It came with salad, tempura veggies, rice, teriyaki chicken and a California roll. He ate so much!! I was shocked. During the meal he stopped and said, “I could eat this forever.” That’s as big a compliment as you’ll get from a 5 year old! The rest of us had special rolls and everyone was very happy with their selections. The staff were friendly, the restaurant was clean and the prices were fair. We will definitely be back!

There was a 2 hour wait at the revolving spot, so I found this place across the mall. J Sushi was awesome! Service on point! All the rolls were great size, portion and delicious! Fried calamari, hot cheetos roll, and veggie yakisoba are dishes that really stood out!

Casual spot but very worth your dollar! I like this place, but expect it to be busy a lot of people take to go orders so it’s not really a quiet spot but it’s so yummy it’s totally worth it!

I absolutely love this place! Their sushi is perfect; I got paradise , rainbow on crunch, mango & salmon, and yellowtail on cali rolls. Everything was so delicious and it's definitely my favorite spot to eat in Fullerton!

The food here was basic. Fish was not very fresh… the ginger has a strange stale taste. Wasabi was descent not strong or fresh either. The one thing that tasted good was the fried arugula on the forest gump roll🤣 . But the service was really good. The staff was very nice. I had time to kill and this was a decent spot to do just that. It was better than McDonald’s across the street. I also got the lemon roll, I asked for more of the lemon sauce and was told it was squirt of lemon. So I got a side of ponzu. It was clean so that was nice. Wouldn’t come back.

A small simple sushi resto. While waiting for our seat, there a lot of coming and going for takeouts. I think that's a good sign. The spicy tuna was tasty-spicy! If ya know what I mean. That's a 💯% soul food to me. My friend order 2 something-like crunchy roll - idk, but the way they deep fried it was something like no other crunch roll I've had. The rice was chewy-crunchy-perfect!

1st timer here! Food was great and fresh. Service was quick and employees were kind. Definitely deserves 5 stars!
Super casual spot, which was something I didn't really enjoy. Reminds me sort of like a waba grill or flame Broiler inside. Seating is sparse and doesn't have that restaurant vibe I was looking for. Nothing wrong with that though. It's a great sushi spot and I will 100% be back for pick up orders or a quick lunch grab!!

I moved to this area 5 months ago. Other than work, we just go over local restaurants one by one. Today was our first time here and should be the last time. It was mainly the dinning experience. We had a waitress did not know how to wait, and in a hot South Cal afternoon, didn't feel like the AC was on. The food is mediocre, utensils is old and cheap, the portion is small and the pictures on the menu gave very little idea what the entries are. The Teriyaki beef made me want to go back to Yoshinoya. The baked Dynamite rolls fell apart the second the plate landed on the table.

The reason for given the second star is: all the orders came with the relative right taste, not great, not bad. So the Cali roll is a Cali roll, the Dynamite sushi taste like one, and salad taste like Japanese restaurant salad. I looked at the picture of the food before I went, I am disappointed.

We were seated and was given a menu. My husband likes Sushi, and they said there where other offers for people who don't like Sushi.

I am not a sushi eater for health reasons. The sushi coming out looked very yummy.. But did go in for some gyoza and beef noodles.. The gyoza was outstanding the beef noodles eh...barely any beef and bland. Wait staff attentive.

The service was great, but the food was average-poor. Execution wise it was over sauced. The tuna sashimi was bad. Tempura over battered. Perhaps good for take out but the dine in the decor is lacking.

Overall 3 stars at best and that's only because the waitstaff was good

The food was delicious. We ordered the baked scallop roll and a few yellowtail handrolls which were all delicious. Our server was very attentive. I did notice that this place does get busy with a lot of to go orders which may have contributed to us waiting a bit for our food to come out but the food was worth the wait. Also the price is very reasonable for the quality. I will definitely come back.

SO GOOD!!! Our go-to is is the Iron Monkey (the crawfish) and the White Volcano and of course, the Udon. Today, we decided to try the veggie yakisoba udon. Personally, I liked it mix with the salad! It gives it a nice balance. The salad is a bit on the salty side and the noodles is bland on its own. But overall, good quantity ans taste.

I like this one better than the Santa Ana/Orange one since it's more spacious and the service is quick and attentive.

I walked in around 3:00 in the afternoon and received the absolute BEST service that I have ever received in a restaurant! The kind waitress was attentive to my needs and even gave me a Coke to go. My bill was $34 for the bento box 4, two salmon hand rolls and a poke bowl. I was so happy with the outstanding service that I gave a $30 tip. I highly recommend J Sushi Brea! Thank you for the excellent service and the delicious food!

Edit: I am changing my review because last time I was there, numerous members in the kitchen either had their masks on their chin or with their nose sticking out. I know working in a hot kitchen with a mask isn't fun but it is essential to keep them on for health reasons. Will not be going back.

Original Review: This is the best place in North OC that I have found where you can get a tasty roll for a pretty low price and not feel nervous about the quality. Their monthly/weekly deals are a great value and the service is fast. Would definitely recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about this place!!! I’ve had excellent service every visit, especially Christmas Eve. They gave me a free roll and as someone who spends Christmas alone, just the extra kind gesture really meant a lot to me. The food is great quality and fairly priced. 10/10 my favorite spot in brea!!

So covid-era review. Only one person allowed in the restaurant to order at a time. We came for lunch and made our orders. My coworker was told that his would take a little longer, like 20 minutes to be ready. I ordered mixed tempura, a cheesy golden dragon and a cali roll. I think with tip it was about 20 bucks. My order came out at least 10 minutes. We had to wait 10 more minutes for my coworker's order. So its wise to order ahead. They get very busy for lunch. My cheesy golden dragon was amazing! But my tempura wasn't crunchy anymore because we waited. It still tasted good but it didn't have that crunch. The classic cali roll was good.

J Sushi is a chain ( I think ) there's one in orange across the hospital too. But I love this location in Brea! They are super friendly and always willing to make a roll to my liking. This location also has special sometimes look on their social media for those specials. This is my go to location very convenient because it's super close to home definitely recommend this sushi place
