Indulge in the exquisite flavors of Japan at Origami Handroll Bar, where culinary artistry meets fresh, seasonal ingredients. Our handrolls are meticulously crafted with precision and passion, showcasing the vibrant essence of Japanese cuisine.
I wanted to gatekeep this SO BADLY but I may have just found the BEST quality handrolls in Orange County.
Took my mom to this super chic and modern handroll bar in Brea. The quality of each handroll was UNREAL.
Seriously, so hard to choose favorites, but I loooved the baked blue crab and A5 wagyu.
I also definitely recommend getting their rock shrimp tempura appetizer and fun mocktails that are so tasty.
If you're like me and can't resist top-notch fresh fish that won't break the bank, make sure to bookmark this and share it with your friends.
Thanks for reading! ^-^

Big fan! Every roll was so fresh and delicious 🤤. The chef wait till you are done before rolling a new one. Did the 6 course for couple and it's was a good intro. Compare to Rol this place is superior imo. Three sauces were all good but our favorite is yuzu. One downside is the inside can get hot, A/C could be under power...If ordering oyster I recommend giving it time to sit on the ice bed before eating for a more refreshing experience😁.The green tea affogato is also worth mentioning. It was creamy and not sweet at all. We hope to come back soon!

A newly opened Japanese restaurant specialized in Handrolls. The restaurant is a bit small with around 12 seats at the bar, plus 4-5 tables. Our waiter Ethan was very nice and helpful.
Drink ... I tried the passion fruit Nomoso (mocktail), well, to me, it was like a soda with passion fruit syrup. Maybe I should have skipped it or tried something else.
Food ... we ordered a few temaki ... including blue crab, lobster, uni ikura toro and a shrimp tempura crunch. We loved the blue crab a lot, as it highlighted the freshness of the crab meat. Uni ikura toro was packed with flavor (well, we loved uni). Lobster, however, was kind of chewy and would not recommend it. While they tried their best to keep the seaweed crunchy, but they were still not crunchy enough imo.
We also tried the rock shrimp tempura... It was tasty but won't recommend it before any of the temaki... Its taste was just too strong.

I recently visited the new handroll spot Origami in Brea and absolutely loved it! They offer a variety of mocktails like the refreshing watermelon nojito and sweet peach nossini.
For appetizers, we got some spicy tuna crispy rice - which btw was stackkkkked - as well as some incredibly sweet and delicate Kumamoto oysters (my favvvvvvv kind!!)
We got some classic rolls like spicy yellowtail, unagi, salmon, spicy salmon, and yellowtail - all excellent with generous portions of fish.
For premium rolls, they are a bit pricier but well worth it. The aburi toro truffle is a must-try, especially if you love truffle flavor. Lobster was just OK. The smoke octopus carpaccio was also unique and beautifully presented.
For dessert, they offer yuzu creme brulee which was intensely tart and perfect for yuzu lovers, and a smooth Hokkaido soft serve.
Overall, Origami is an awesome new addition to Brea's dining scene!

This place is underrated. Good quality ingredients and service. Happy to have found this place. Better check it out before it gets insanely popular. Solid 5 stars in my book 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Food is overprice and not that great compared to other Maki restaurants such as ROL in Fountain Valley.

Surface was good food was good. I think they could upgrade the place from an atmosphere perspective prices are a little higher than you want them to be but not nosebleed levels. I’d give it 4 1/2 stars but that’s not an option. I’d rather give five stars than four.

Had our name on the waiting list - was told it’ll be 5 mins…, 40 mins later, still not seated …hostess kept saying “soon”….no apologies …just ignored us the whole time what a waste of time

I’ve been wanting to come to this place for a while. My favorite is kazu nori. The only thing we have similar is ROL. This is a little bit of a drive for me, but it’s worth it if I don’t have to go to LA so I finally Made it out and a few things I’ve noticed is everything is à la carte. All the pictures people post look like the roles are rolled up and handed to you, but the menu only shows temaki. They don’t have any preset menus, which I think they should consider. Especially with so many things on their menu newbies coming in should have somewhere to start, especially at this price point. I really wanted to try a bunch of things but not at 7.5 for one temaki. Kazu nori is still king. Based off their quality, consistency & price point. ROL will suffice, but not even close to quality. But a little higher in price. This one is way above. Everything else quality is much better, but I don’t think it justifies the price point. I went to a restaurant like this in Seattle recently and prices were somewhat similar, but they did have sets and the rest of their menu was reasonably priced. I feel like this menu is just high across-the-board and it doesn’t match the quality. I’m not gonna say it doesn’t have good quality, but it doesn’t match. It’s giving UCHI prices but ROL quality. Nothing was good enough for me to want to keep spending money here. I’m going to Japan soon so I’d save my money for that. I don’t think I will be back here unless there’s changes in menu or price or both

Just finished an amazing dinner at Origami Hand Roll in Brea. The sushi was fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant very clean. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Brea. Great new addition to the town.

Came in around 3pm on a Sunday for a Belated Valentine's Lunch!
It was not too busy so we were able to walk right in!
This is a Temaki styled Handroll Restaurant!
We had the Tuna crunch, amaebi (sweet shrimp), wagyu, spicy yellowtail, salmon skin, aburi toro temaki
We also tried the crispy rice with spicy tuna (be careful of the chili on top! It is spicy!)
And did a sauce trio with the Yusu kosho, garlic truffle soy, and Spicy soy!
Everything was 10/10 from the beautiful sleek Bar to the Comfortably paced Service by our Chef.
Seaweed had a great crisp and the rice was perfectly warm and balanced.
I also tried a passionfruit mock tail! It was nice and refreshing and not too sugary!
Service was Excellent all around! We will Definitely be back!
Menu is A la Carte Style but there is a great variety of options including apps, maki cut rolls, sashimi, specialty Temaki, and vegetarian Temaki!
Keep in Mind smaller restaurants might have longer wait times during rush but it was well worth it!
Thank you again for a great Meal!

The sushi was mediocre and overpriced. My biggest disappointment was the sashimi. For $30, I was expecting A LOT more. It was five tiny slices of fish that were VERY POORLY prepared. I was honestly offended that they had the audacity to charge $30 for it. They would have to cut their prices in half for me to even consider going back.
