The food was great, as always. We started with a bowl of clam chowder; house salad and oysters...all very good. Our entrees were the Corn Dill Salmon, which was delicious; and the special of Flank Steak with Prawns over asparagus and potatoes…it was a winner! Nice presentation. Very friendly service and clean, roomy atmosphere.

Went on a Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was $7 mojitos. The passion fruit was rich in flavor, the original was refreshing and light which was was a preferred personal choice. The corn salmon and bruschetta are must orders if you plan on visiting. Nice ambiance, outdoor seating with lovely lighting and good ventilation.

Arrived around 5pm for dinner. We were the only people there. It took a long time for the staff to come and take the order. The drinks were good but took a long time to arrive as well as the food. Portions seemed small for the price paid. It was ok.

My husband and I had an absolutely delicious Brunch this afternoon! I ordered the Cowboy Omelet, and it was packed with steak cooked medium-rare just as requested, as well as bell pepper, onion, mushrooms, and pepper jack cheese. The country potatoes were perfectly spiced, and the sourdough toast and little fruit salad were perfect accompaniments. My husband ordered the French toast combo with eggs over hard and said everything was great. We didn't have any adult libations this time, but their drink list was impressive. Our waitress was sweet and just the right amount of attentive. We will definitely be back!!

The food and service are very good. Everything these days feels overpriced so focus on the quality. Parking is the worst! Six of us were going to go here for lunch. Called and asked about their payments. They said they would only take 2 payments from the 6 of us, which means we would have to figure out who owes what and give it to the two people who made the payments. Stupid policy. We won t be going as 6 or any other number.

We celebrated a birthday here with a party of 15 for a Saturday brunch. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly and our table was ready. The staff here are absolutely amazing, always friendly and so attentive. The food and drinks were fabulous! I highly recommend coming here for any occasion.

Came here a month ago and received extremely slow service. We decided to try again and were seated for almost 15 minutes and didn t even get water the time we were seated, while being seated in the outdoor seating area which was hot. We were able to see the servers chatting the whole time. Never again.

First of all my wife did like this restaurant and goes there from time to time. WARNING!!!!! We had the most horrible experience. My wife does not do spicy foods she ordered the pork chop the menu does not mention spicy so why??? The pork chop was very spicy she could not eat it. Our waitress then told yes they had marinated in hot spices. I spoke with the manager she had no care about my wife acid reflux. We ordered the lamb chops I asked the manager if she would be willing to reduce the price she said no. my wife became very ill I asked for the manager and she refused to come to see what we wanted no care at all that a customer became ill in their restaurant. I told the waitress I refuse to pay then the managers comes outraged. We began to walkout. The manager threatened to post on social media that we walkout without paying. I told her that is fine because of her non caring attitude. Then I told her okay here is my card I will pay but do not agree with her attitude. She told me no don t pay just walkout I will just post you on social media. Her staff was there and heard her say she will not take my payment. The bad part of all this is that they knew that the pork chops were spicy but; they fail to tell their customers about the pork chops. The waitress told us that yeah another person said the same thing. This will be the last pork chop we will be serving. Because the restaurant ordered the wrong paprika and it was spicy. If you knew this why not tell your customers what is going on instead of just throwing food at you. This is like adding peanuts and giving it to a person who is allergic to peanuts. No care or empathy for their customers. If she post us social media that we walked out without paying this is her choice and incorrect I offered to pay and she declined. The facts are here and the witness are her staff. Never come here this could have been a life threatening ordeal.

I love this place! The Michelle steak sandwich is probably the best steak sandwich Ive ever had. Nice and tender and flavorful. Not tough at all like other steak sandwiches can be. Their chicken picatta is my second favorite! My husband always gets the fish and chips, which he loves! The fries are amazing. The service is great and the prices are decent, especially the kids meals!

Solid 3 star experience. Not great, not bad. Got the fish and chips, wasn t quite crispy and the fries were undercooked as well. Partner got the seafood Alfredo dish and it was a bit watery. Service was friendly though slow. Just a 3 star experience, not bad just not really good.

This place has good food. But the service could be better. The restaurant was not full and yet we had 4 people come take our orders. And i say orders cause I asked the first girl that came out to take our order and she forgot then the second on came and brought some of our stuff the another one came back and asked it we wanted soda refills and never came back then anther girl came out and got the refills. They just kept rotating. It was a little annoying to he honest. Also, they need to fix the out door patio tables they were lopsided.

Husband and I had been wanting to try this place for a year, so we headed over this morning to arrive just after opening. Upon arrival, there were only 3 tables of 2-tops in the entire restaurant. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. It took a good 7-8 minutes before a server came by to greet us and pour our waters, but she was friendly and smiling. I took the time in between sitting down and receiving service to use the restroom, which was mostly clean and orderly. I ordered decaf, which she needed to brew, understandably. A few minutes later we ordered our food, and 5-6 minutes later, my coffee came out - lukewarm at best. Our veggie omelet, berry french toast and side of medium-well bacon took over 25 minutes to arrive and, though the plates were thoughtfully split for us to share, both orders were really disappointing. The omelet was missing avocado slices on top, it was mostly onions - long stringy ones with the filmy skin still attached - but, worse, the temperature was barely warm. No one wants to eat cold eggs. The french toast, though pretty to look at, was simply cold - cold bread, very tough to chew. The strawberries and blueberries were fresh, but the large raspberries not so much. The bacon, however, was hot and cooked perfectly - still sizzling just a bit. So, it was shocking to bite into cold french toast and a room-temperature, onion-filled omelet while holding a perfect specimen of bacon in my hand. To us, it appeared our main meals had been sitting ready quite some time while the bacon was being cooked. Unfortunately, as it was a late breakfast for us (especially waiting nearly 40 minutes between walking inside and actually receiving our food), we opted to eat it as is. The immediate desire to send it back was overrun by grumbling tummies. It wasnt until after the server dropped our food off that I realized there was no jam for the toast. So, 3-4 minutes later, I stopped her in passing to ask for jam, which she retrieved from the kitchen for another piece of cold, chewy bread. A few minutes later, I stopped her again as she passed by, to ask for a coffee refill. At that time, I informed her the food was disappointing, specifically the cold french toast and coffee, but I forgot to mention the missing avocado on our omelet. She apologized and offered to replace the french toast, but I responded that we were too hungry to wait longer on hot food and also had somewhere else to be. We finished our plates quickly and, again, I drank lukewarm coffee. Even the table next to us complained to their server that the fresh coffee was cold. Another server came by and picked up the majority of our plates attempting to clear the table. By now, its approx. 11:45 and business was picking up. Since we hadnt received the bill yet, my husband headed to the restroom. While he was gone, our server came back, presenting me with a full order of french toast - as she took the last small stack of plates and our forks away. I explained that, while I appreciated the gesture, we were ready for the check. She suggested I take it to go, stating shed get a box. She did just that and presented the bill, which I thanked her for. Granted, it wasnt the worst experience ever. The server was sweet, just less attentive than what wed consider average. As former industry professionals, including a Food and Bev/Banquet Manager and bar/restaurant owner - we trained our servers to check all plates against tickets before serving to ensure correctness. Servers should know menu items top to bottom, especially the relatively small brunch menu they offer. Complaints re: cold coffee from guests warrant checking the machine and offering to heat it up in the microwave as a quick resolve. Most importantly, when food is up, it goes out hot - dont hold it for a forgotten side dish. If we hadnt been so hungry, we would have sent it all back and left...which we have never done. Its frustrating to read the reviews and expect a wonderful experience. Maybe it was an off morning, but there were multiple issues. Hence this review.

We really enjoyed our Valentines dinner at Wence. We had reservations and were seated right away. The night was very busy, but the staff were very attentive and quickly took our drink & appetizer orders. I was torn between the ribeye steak or porkchop. I went with the porkchop because of the mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was a thick cut of meat, but moist and tasty. My lady had the salmon, and equally enjoyed her meal. Weve been here before and each experience has been equally enjoyable. I am sure that we will be back again soon. Our overall experience was 5 star.

So when you have a server look you up and down because of how you are dressed just to order to go and pass you on to other servers make you feel like I shouldn t be in the restaurant. Not even greeted by this person but greet every white person in a bar. Other than the over priced food and lack of flavor very disappointing restaurant. The tables are filthy the floor has a wine stain. The lady that help me was very nice.

Weve been meaning to try this for a while but due to so many bad reviews we kept putting this off but finally the wife and I went and enjoyed a very long dinner because they are very slow! The food was absolutely amazing not a single complaint but it took me 15 minutes to get a glass of water and probably an hour to actually get down to eating some food! But the staff was very nice and apologetic and sounds like the owners need to add another wait staff because it takes too long to eat here but the food is great!

Ive been to this location on multiple occasions. My last visit was not the best one and may possibly be the last. I went there with my family for dinner, once we got there we were seated fairly quick, the place was not full, a few tables here and there but nothing to say it was overwhelming to the staff, the waitress took roughly 20 minutes to cone to our table and greet us, once we placed our food order the service was meh... the server was not attentive. She would bounce from table to table but would not come to ours.... after a while, we started receiving our food, my order was the last to arrive, though I was excited about it it came as a huge disappointment... I ordered the seafood pasta on which I was very excited about, but instead got a very eye-catching plate with very little to bland taste, the clams were not rinsed properly as I took some bites and got a grainy sandy aftertaste, the noodles were oily and lacking seasoning, after a few bites I gave up and shared my wifes plate instead when the waitress finally came to check up on us, I advised of my experience with the plate, in most occasions you would expect a replacement or something to substitute the meal but instead she took the plate and didnt return to our table until she brought the bill. To my surprise, the plate was still on the bill, in my experience if youre not satisfied with your meal its customary that its taken off the bill but in this case it was still there, though the waitress never said anything she just dropped off the bill and walked away..... not a thank you, please come again... im sorry you didnt like your food ... just dropped off the bill and walk away.. not a place I want to visit or bring family and friends to. You want to go where you feel welcome at.

Had lunch here today with three others. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Three of us had wraps and the fourth a turkey club sandwich. All of these items were excellent. On top of that, two of us ordered French fries. These were cooked !! to order!! and were great. Service was attentive. We live in the Oakland Hills and have plenty of restaurants near us that are good. This place was one of the best we ve tried in the past year or two. Highly recommended.

UPDATE: Came back over s year later for a date lunch and now adding a star. Everything was delicious -- fish tacos and California Benedict. We came here to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day, and I wanted fish tacos! The ambiance of the back porch area was very nice on a pleasant, warm evening. However, for the presentation of the place and the price, we expected tastier or larger portions. When you see a restaurant with smaller portions, we thought more taste, but was just like any good restaurant...food was just fine but portions slightly smaller for the price. Kids split the Fish & Chips and enjoyed it, but wasnt a very large portion. Hubs got Calamari Steak Sandwich, which they seemed to skimp on the calamari...he had to be strategic in his bites to spread bites of calamari across all of the bread. They should put equal portions of calamari on each half of the bread to make it fit better. He also got the caesar salad and really was pretty puny & tiny...I can get the same thing from a salad mix bag. Now I LOVED my fish tacos (got 1 grilled & 1 fried...fried was obviously tastier/less healthy)! Cole slaw, avocado, fish...all was delicious and tasted pretty fresh! Chips and salsa/taco sauce was fine...not much of a side but pretty standard. Added a house salad for $3 and recommend the house salad over the caesar. Service was just fine and everyone wore masks. Place seemed very clean! Not sure if we would return again, except maybe for the fish tacos...3 orders of fish tacos next time? Ehhh, thatd be pretty spendy for some to still be hungry after. Wait staff is not knowledgeable about their food and couldnt answer a question about the size of their hamburger patty ,(7 oz by the way). I finally asked him to ask the kitchen. Burger was very good and the French fries were exceptional.

The food is very good. I was with a large group and everyone loved the food! I had the coconut shrimp and it was perfect! The service was great! Its not easy to serve 20 people without any problems. They did a fine job of it. I recommend that you check it out. Vegetarian options: They have a couple of vegetarian options. In that they have lots of salads. They offer gluten free pasta also. Parking: There is handicapped parking. Unfortunately, this time they were all full. Not much open parking spots this time! I parked a little further out but thats ok. There is a ton of parking because there are other stores in that center. Wheelchair accessibility: Totally wheelchair accessible from the parking and getting in, to the bathrooms and even some of the tables have room for a wheelchair to pull right up to the end and where there is plenty of space for a wheelchair to pull right up.

Wence House- Brentwood, CA This was my first visit. We went for lunch on Sunday and stayed until 3p. Its a quaint place with a few tables, booth seating, and a small bar inside; some additional seating outside. Theres plenty of parking available. Our server Laura was very helpful in pointing out some of her favorite items and offering us recommendations. We had salads, fish & chips, pesto sea bass, and mango tea; berry crisp and creme brulee for dessert. The food was very tasty! I enjoyed every bite. It was a bit pricey; one of those trips Ill make for special occasions to try some of the other items on the menu.

Really good food. Been there twice and both times the food & service were excellent. Lobster chowder was amazing . 4 stars only for lack of comfort in their patio dining. The outdoor heaters didnt do the job on a damp 55% night. Metal chairs without cushions we pretty chilly on the bum.

In October 2022 I ordered a pork chop dinner from Wence House In Brentwood for $39 and it was great. Because of that I ordered another pork chop dinner and it was terrible. It was over cooked/dried out, gravy was lumpy and not even like gravy and mashed potato was also dried out. Manager tried to blame DoorDash; but I said my October order was also delivered by DoorDash and it was excellent. Manager was very rude and hung up the phone on me. I will never order from them again and will post my review on Nextdoor.

WH is a great place for California Cusine. The food preparation and presentation are first rate. Wait staff exceptional. Will return, frequently.

Came into this establishment Sunday morning because it was recommended. We were greeted and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We replied inside and we were told they would clear a table for us. We could clearly see empty tables. The guy who asked the question completely then ignored us in a very open restaurant. He decided that instead of seating us, he needed to go behind the bar and do various and sundry things. We were not hiding. There is no place in this establishment to hide. Staff was ambling about as if we were interrupting their world. May be a good place for takeout.

Great spot for dinner and cocktails. We had Michelles steak sandwich and the fish tacos and would recommend trying both. And the creme brulee was delicious as well. The outdoor dining area was also really pleasant and kept warm with three large space heaters.

Loved my french dip but friends fish and chips was good but too much breading. Parking: Located in strip mall. Plentiful parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Several parking spaces available. Restaurant has ample room for entering but may need help opening doors.

The quinoa bowls are DELISH! The scampi, unfortunately literally had 4 pieces of shrimp on it. For the price of dinner for 2 (roughly 70) I had hoped for more. We had to order another entree to go! The service was a little slow, but it was the weekend, so to be expected. We did get seated immediately, though and our server was friendly. I will be back for that garden bowl, but will most likely take it to go.

Food was good but our waitress clearly didnt want to be there, didnt refill our water and would there would be long spaces between when we would see her. All other staff was nice though so I would still go again, just not that waitress.

Ive been for lunch several times, trying somthing different each time, and have enjoyed every plate. Thier French dip is exceptional. A full bar has just been added this last month. The signature cocktails are delicious! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Brentwood.

One of our new favorite dining spots in Brentwood! Food is fantastic and the Michelles steak sandwich is just the best. Real beautiful steak on it. So happy to have another awesome option like this added to the neighborhood. I hope this places gets more attention and the love it deserves.

Our dining experience at Wence House last week was similar to previous visits - top notch. My choice was fish and chips. I asked for the chips to be cooked to be extra crispy and they were. Sue had salmon and she said it was perfect. She wouldn t keep her hands off of my chips. The Wence House environment is very comfortable and quiet enough for conversation with others. We will return the next time we visit Brentwood.

Wife and I went on date night and were extremely happy with our choice. Great atmosphere, friendly and fast service, everything is fresh, and delicious. No matter what you choose youll be happy.

Kid-friendly, solid service. Food was pretty good. Everything was good and I would return. We had the calamari, french dip, burger, and fries. Not super memorable but tasty. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, high chair. Outdoor seating. No changing table.

Great food! Crab crabs lobster chowder were excellent starters. Halibut topped with crab on top was my dinner. It was well done by the chef. Drinks could use some improvement but I m not gonna dock it a star for that. Will definitely be back!

Great place for a Sunday brunch. Had great food, decent prices and it did not disappoint. Below we have the truffle Mac and cheese with bacon, and a pork chop.

Normally this my go to place doubt I ll be back had a horrible waitress she put us a tall table I have a bad back & they re was normal size tables inside & out she still didn t care !! One of the ppl that was with me food was very greasy he has them take it back still didn t offer anything else or take it off the bill another plate we had another pasta plate it was all cold !! The waitress also kept rushing us to basically leave !!! Honestly wish I spent eating my Mother s Day meal somewhere else totally disappointed

I like Wence. The service is always consistent and the food is tasty. The Jambalaya and the fish and chips are exceptional. Great place for a family gathering as well.

For the amount of food for to go order was correct and no mistakes. It was delicious.i ordered a caprese sandwich and sweet potato fries. They had a dip for sweet potato fries. Overall our party was satisfied with the food. Other people in my party ordered lobster bisque, fish tacos. The people taking order was friendly.

Slow service, mediocre food, and their strawberry and peach iced teas are powdered, containing no fruit and no fruit flavor. Technically Kool-Aid for $4. This place is a place to go if you like Chilis and Applebees.

Always great service here, the kitchen was a bit off. I ordered chicken piccata, the chicken was pressed was not pounded out at all, they used some sort of cream which doesnt belong in a chicken piccata should be lemon juice wine butter capers. It was edible I just wasnt chicken piccata. Everyone has an off day so I gave them four stars because I never had a bad meal service is always excellent. We got to support small businesses

Staff are all young and incompetent with obviously no prior experience, food was just as bad i had the breakfast burrito and it was just bland . Definitely wouldnt recommend
