For a no frills place, this meal seemed a little pricey. Two combo plates = $31. The beans and rice have good flavor and the cheese enchiladas were decent.
The taco was gross and inedible, the ground beef made the whole shell soggy and had no flavor. The lettuce in the taco tasted old and it hardly had any cheese.
The service is great, friendly cashier and food was made quickly. Maybe, don’t have the tacos if you visit.

UPDATE: My daughter chose El Gallito to burritos for her b-day dinner, and so we took her and ordered 4 burritos. BUT she forgot to specify she wanted quac and sour cream added until after my hubs had already paid -- the guy told them no problem and gave it to them on all 4 of our burritos anyway! Now THAT'S appreciated customer service and adds a star for sure! ⭐

PREVIOUS REVIEW: We've gotten the super burrito here before, which is quite large (4-5 stars worthy even!), and quite tasty for a burrito (not the best but decent!) -- but today we chose to stop and get lunch. Normally the 4 of us can split 2 super burritos, so today we decided to upgrade and each get our own regular burrito. At $4.75 each, they're tiny?! And chicken ONLY...what a rip off. For $2 more, could've get 2 of us and this left us all still hungry...poor value for a customer. Disappointed is an understatement, so not sure how quickly/if we'll return...

I was in town visiting my grandma who recommended this place so I went and picked up a pork super burrito with guacamole and sour cream for her and a combo plate of enchiladas and a taco for me. The super burrito had no guac or sour cream although I paid extra for it, and it was mostly rice and hardly any meat. The combo plate that was about $14 had one tiny enchilada on it with a small serving of both rice and beans, and a regular sized taco. That wonderful meal cost about $24 and left me still hungry and my grandma dissatisfied. It was disappointing to say the least and we won't be coming back.

The food was delicious, the whole menu looked phenomenal, I had asked the staff and they recommended the carnitas super burrito. That was the best choice i have ever made. The customer service was exquisite, the nicest staff you can possibly ask for, fast and friendly and answered all my questions.

I've tried to give this place a try multiple time but it's a fail after fail my asada fries were like a bowl of soup no Pico de Gallo completely unsatisfied I won't ever go here again for a hamburger nothing. Hardly any meat on my fries so disappointed. Nice people tho. Good luck tamale seemed really old. You guys can't serve people this. You guys can keep my money you obviously need it more then me to get it together. Not authentic at all.

This is one of my go to places for reasonable priced meals. Love the food, good flavor with filling portions. Call ahead and pick-up for fast easy meal option. Various specials daily can save a buck too.

This place has really gone down hill in the pass three to five years ..nachos use to be best in town ..now portions are smaller but more expensive. It's really sad..but I do hope that the nostalgia of the establishment returns.

Cheap, healthy and tasty. Its so hard to get all 3 right. I do not understand how this eatery gets less than 5 stars. We ordered chicken/veg/shrimp burrito, quessadilla, veg tostada. The food was amazing. They have the spicy sauce which was a bomb. The lady who took order on phone was courteous and food was presented well.

This is a brentwood gem. My family appreciates having them here.

We used El Gallito to cater a small gathering and were extremely pleased. The food was ready to pick up on time, the prices were extremely reasonable, and the meal was delicious! They were very easy to work with and we will definitely be back next time we need catering! Thank you, El Gallito!

We haven't been able to eat there for quite some time. I actually miss it! My mom's favorite go to when we go to the cemetery. She likes to pick up some pork tamales with the nacho meat sauce on the side.

El Gallito is by far my favorite spot for Mexican food in Brentwood. Their meat burritos and pork wet burritos will keep your tastebuds happy with every bite! I ordered crunchy tacos today and instead of getting a soggy mess (which seems the case everywhere else), they had flipped the tacos over so the juices would not ruin the shell. I also had their pazole for the first time and it is to die for! The richness of the pork with all if the other textures really set it over the edge for me. In short, I love their food and friendly service and 100% suggest checking it out!

The pork and chicken super burritos were excellent. I wasn't crazy about the soft tacos but my husband loved them. It was kind of a wait to get the food which was uncomfortable since it was 100° outside and the dining room was closed otherwise I would have given a 5 star review.

I loooove tamales but they are a pain to make and the frozen grocery store ones are very meh but El Gallito makes some of the best tamales I've had. They are very friendly and the food is spectacular!

We love this place. Its nothing fancy, its a little older hole in the wall type place. But the waitress is great and so is the food. We love the burgers and fries as well as the mexican food.

Food was great, the wait for the food not so much. Didn't seem like they were o early busy. Only a couple of people in front of me. I was getting my food to go. So I'm not sure how many people were inside. But the food literally took 35 minutes to get. Would try again, but afraid of the wait.

Pretty good food but the service was lacking. If you dine in the service is much better than ordering from the outside walk up window . Three separate dine in tables ordered after I ordered my food to go. Those three tables got their food and had finished their meals before I got my food to go. The girl said 20 minutes for my food but took 50 minutes, not cool. If I hadn't paid first I would have walked out.

This was the worst restaurant I have ever gone to. The burrito was cold and the meat was very strange tasting. I got diarrhea the next day. The health department needs to inspect them quickly before they kill someone. They don't even have a "Food Handelers Sertifcate". Filthy and dangerous!

The girls were rude and it too 35 min to get my to go order. I told them there was a food allergy and they put cheese in my daugjters burrito but marked it no cheese!! Thry are dirty.
