Is like going back on day 50s. The tables and the floor are the same as the 50s. The service its nice, but the girls dress up at the 50s, and the hamburgers and sandwiches are very good. You should go and try it.

This is a nice little place on San Fernando blvd, on the street with all the colorful lights. It has a typical 50s Diner look and feel with a jukebox and table-songselectors (dunno what they are called), along with 50s memorabilia. The server and the chef seemed to me like the owners. They were very polite, and the food came out very quick. I enjoyed my sloppy Chili-dog, and the onion rings were my favorite part of my order, my wifes burger wasnt bad, but I might have chosen different buns (I prefer French hoagie rolls for dogs and sesame for burgers). I also think the breakfast might be enjoyable in an establishment such as this because it gives you a very cheerful and friendly vibe. Overall, its a very cute place to dine-in, the service is friendly and their prices are fair. Parking: Big free parking structure is not far from the restaurant. I pushed my wife on a wheelchair, it wasnt bad at all. Kid-friendliness: Yep, I would say its kid friendly, but that also means they need to behave a little. Wheelchair accessibility: We were accommodated in a booth bit they alsonhave a table high enough for a wheelchair to go under it.

This was our first time in this restaurant, and were glad we stopped in! The atmosphere was fun, the waitress was very kind, and the food was fast, delicious, and reasonably priced for the large quantity. It was also unique to be able to play three songs for a quarter on their jukebox from your booth!

The place is quaint and reminiscent of the soda shops of the past. The music from the 60s and 70s, like the Beach Boys, Grand Funk Railroad & many others, make this a great place to eat some very traditional American fare like a hamburger, clubhouse sandwich, or salads

I really liked this place! It s a very cute diner. The food was really good. The owner was really nice as well. Don t worry if you only see one waiter, he s super efficient. They have little juke boxes in each table so you can pick songs. It was really fun to pick songs and sing along. I would highly recommend! Vegetarian options: They have your typical breakfast menu that you can make vegetarian. They also have a vegetarian omelette. Kid-friendliness: Our kids were with us and they enjoyed it as well. They ordered chocolate pancakes and loved them.

My kids went here excited to see the place after a beach trip. It was my daughters and nieces birthday. They had read somewhere that partys that have more than 5 people would get an 18% gratuity added to their bill. When it was time to pay my daughter had thought that the gratuity was added, she added an extra $5 tip. The lady had come over and told them that the $5 tip wasnt enough and they should add another $20 to it so basically $25. My daughter tried explaining to her that she thought it was added and was gonna have her another $5 on top of that. PEOPLE TIPS ARE EARNED!!! Our family has worked in the restaurant business so we know how all that works. You shouldnt be forcing someone to tip you like I said tips are earned. A place that looks like this shouldnt have employees like her, it makes such a great looking place look bad.

Plenty of open booths and tables to choose from. Dining room was clean. Temperature inside was nice. I would be really excited to take my family here for an authentic American culinary experience!

In a part of LA that is filled with great diners, The Great Grill should be considered one of them in my opinion. They specialize in a 1950s retro theme from the music playing to the booths and tables that you are sitting in to all the signage on the wall. I m already a huge fan of Bob s, Paty s, and a few others in the area and would consider this a solid breakfast option as well. The food was good, but my favorite part of the meal was the price, everything was just fair. Service was quick and all of our food items came out shortly after ordering. They don t have a parking lot attached, but there is a parking garage with the first two hours free directly behind the restaurant. The walking path that is just left of the entrance leads to the parking garage. They have a fairly large menu filled with all sorts of diner classics for both breakfast and lunch or dinner. We stopped in for brunch for our first time so we wanted to do some breakfast items. I chose the Country Breakfast which is a Chicken Fried Steak with eggs and toast and really enjoyed it. I would ve liked hashbrowns more than the homefries that they used and also felt that the chicken fried steak was a little too crispy, but it still had somegreat flavors. Overall a really solid and fairly priced retro diner in Burbank. I would suggest to anyone searching for a good breakfast or lunch option where you can listen to the oldies while you dining. Parking: parking garage in back first 2 hours free

This little restaurant really gives off Mel s Diner vibes and really throws you back to the 50 s. The food was also similar to most dinner spots with choices from all day breakfast to burgers to salads. I went with the super bird. All the flavor was there however I wished it was warm. I mean the bread was toasted and cheese was melted however the turkey was very cold like fresh out of the fridge cold. Maybe that s just how their super bird is and it was my fault for not clarifying. My son ordered boneless wings and they came out still frozen in the middle. Butttt they reheated them and gave us five extra wings.. so that made up for it.. the owners were adorable and very attentive and we would be back.. ohh, I forgot their ranch is amazing also.

One of the best little spots to stop by in Burbank. Ive been staying in Burbank for just over a month for work and The Great Grill has consistently had some of the best tasting breakfast Ive ever had and such an incredible atmosphere. The staff here seems to truly care about what theyre doing and Im convinced they have a deep love and respect for their craft, regulars, and newcomers alike. Everyone in this building is an ace. In a society where everyone is in a rush and seemingly just trying to get your money and get you out, these folks are a breath of fresh air. I live down near San Diego, but I will never miss the chance to eat at The Great Grill if Im in town. 10 stars, every time Ive been.

I always walk by this place and I decided to try it this time. It s a cute little 50s nostalgic diner. The inside has great 50s memorabilia and decor throughout. I was greeted right away and sat down. The menu was very inviting. There s a lot of great items on the menu. I decided to get the hamburger steak with mushrooms, gravy, mashed potatoes, veggies, and a side salad with ranch. It didn t take long for my food to come out. The hamburger steak which I wasn t expecting. Had a piece of cheese on top of it. That she is kind a look like plastic. It didn t even look real. The burger was a nice size, however, not much flavor. The only thing that truly had the flavor was the gravy. The vegetables weren t frozen yet steamed, but no salt or any seasoning. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were boiled potatoes, mashed with water. The gravy, however, did make it taste more edible. As I was eating, there was a hair that I found underneath the burger that was sticking out. It took about five minutes before I can reach the server. He apologized, and I told him just to remake me a new plate. No need to complain. This is a Diner so I can expect too much. The service was good the food so so, but again it is a Diner food. I gave it a three star mainly because I found the hair in my food. Normally I would give it a one star finding here in my food but the service was good like I said, and so was the atmosphere. I m not sure if I ll try this place again, however, everybody deserves a chance. It might be a long time before I give it a chance.

Eating out at The Great Grill is not merely a meal, but an immersive time-travel experience that whisks you back to the effervescent energy of the 1980s. It is here that you can savor a heady blend of nostalgic ambiance, groovy tunes, and decadent culinary offerings. Its much more than a restaurant its a time capsule that somehow manages to serve up comfort food in a way that not only delights the palate, but the heart too. The centerpiece of their menu, the club sandwich, is truly a thing of beauty. It is a masterclass in the art of sandwich-making juicy layers of fresh turkey and crispy bacon, ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce, all tucked within perfectly toasted bread. The sandwich is lathered with just the right amount of mayo, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors that echo the heartiness and warmth of the bygone era. Its not just a sandwich, its a memory of decades past, brought back to life with every bite. If you have a penchant for breakfast foods, The Great Grills French toast is worth a dedicated trip on its own. The thick, pillowy slices of bread are dipped in a fragrant egg mixture, expertly griddled to a golden brown, and dusted with a tantalizing kiss of powdered sugar. The taste is pure vintage decadence, the textures are divine, and the loving attention to detail in every bite is an homage to the home-style cooking of yesteryears. But the allure of The Great Grill extends beyond the delicious offerings on the plate. A vintage jukebox stands tall in the corner, offering guests the opportunity to soundtrack their dining experience with a selection from the top 100 hits of the 80s. For a mere quarter, you can select three songs, providing a melodic backdrop to your meal. From the soft rock ballads to pulsating disco beats, this gastronomic haven is suffused with the auditory delight of a time when music was as much about emotion as melody. What truly elevates The Great Grill, though, is the commitment to creating an authentic atmosphere. From the memorabilia that adorns the walls to the friendly staff who treat you like family, everything about this place evokes the inviting warmth and spirit of the 80s. The air is filled with laughter, storytelling, and the soft hum of conversation that comes from people enjoying a truly special dining experience. The Great Grill offers a dining experience thats both a testament to the power of good food and a poignant homage to the past. It stands tall as a sanctuary of simpler times, comfort food, and the infectious tunes of the 80s. To step into The Great Grill is to step back in time, to a place where every dish is a memory, and every note of music is a piece of history. Whether youre an ardent fan of the 80s or simply a lover of great food, The Great Grill is sure to leave a mark on your heart and your stomach.

After passing this little gem on the street for years I finally made it here! I felt like a diner breakfast and thought all my usual spots would be too busy since it was later in the morning. Short pleasant walk from the Palm Ave public garage and the patio was empty! I love dining outside because I travel with my little pooch as often as I can and outdoor dining is a must for that. It is on the shady side of the street in the morning and they had all the typical diner fare I was craving. Over medium eggs? Perfect! Must stop and enjoy this excellent 50s diner! Brought my family of 10 in here for lunch and was able to sit down right away. Our host was very polite and treated our little girl with a surprise quarter for the mini jukebox song selections available at your tables. 25cents gets 3 songs. Our drink orders came out quickly and he had beer and wine choices too. Mimosas were very delightful and hit the spot. Big menu that offers breakfast all day. You can find something for everyone, and once the food arrived it looked amazing. We even heard the little bell ding in the kitchen when our plates were being finished. All the old memorabilia really makes it a fun place to visit and you will enjoy all the pictures you will see of old celebrities and musicians. Elvis and Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page and such all over the place. The food was so delicious and it made the whole visit perfect. Will for sure bring friends here when they come to town as well.

Decent service but my eggs and my daughter s beef dip were both over cooked plus we were harassed by homeless the entire time. I don t recommend eating on the sidewalk.

A great place to experience 50 s nostalgia with a 50 s themed menu, I had George s Meatloaf and it was delicious and full of flair. The server gave us great customer service. If I m ever in the area, I will go back again.

My sister and I have become regulars at this fine dining establishment. Weve brought friends and family and they all agree that the food and service is amazing. Whenever we ask the 2 youngest if they wanna go they jump up and put their shoes on. The service is great, the jukebox is great. Honestly needs more recognition, because THIS is a true, once in a blue moon, masterpiece. I enter excited and leave happy and satisfied every visit. Kid-friendliness: My sisters always get the chicken tenders, no complaints, and they come with fries too, which we always enjoy wether eating them at the restaurant or if we took them to go.

Great atmosphere, nice and speedy staff, mediocre food. You go there for the atmosphere and the breakfast, nothing else

I love the feel of an old school diner. Friendly and comfortable. Prices are very good. Been there many times. Will go back again.

What can I say. I like a good 50s diner and the great grill lives up to the title of being great. Food was good with authentic 50s decor and atmosphere. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly. Had the eggs Benedict which was good, but ham was too fatty. Croissant Breakfast sandwich was also very good. Compared to other 50s diners, definitely on the better side but food could be improved. Food - 14/20 Service - 5/10 Atmosphere - 8/10 Total - 27/40 - good place! try if you are in the area

Good food!! Fun people, and fairly priced. But I do say the COFFEE WAS GREAT!!!!!!! Vegetarian options: Vegie omelet looks good. Parking: Parking has limited street, but 300 feet away is a huge parking structure that is covered.

Ive eaten at this place often. The service is minimal (one guy every time Ive gone) but when interacting with the staff they are extremely inviting. The food is standard diner food and gets the job done. I recommend this place for anyone craving diner food. It truly is old reliable.
