Smart & Final Extra!

The people who work here are wonderful but they often have half empty shelves and nearly expired food on the shelves that are stocked and usually when you walk in it smells absolutely rank I don't know what it is but it smells horrible and it smells like they're trying to cover it up with air freshener. 🤢 I'm buying two things right now and the lines are so long There's people with 50 things in the express lane and I just want to get in and get out especially because it smells so bad here.

99% employers uniformed +1 equal 100%. Managers! Be more responsible with providing the correct uniform to your employers Upon hired as I now see one wearing a store uniform when I had confused him with a manager due to his black dressing. You all probably know who am I referring to. And if any comments are made, be sure to come up to me before going up to your activ employee. Very ridiculous from the manager Crystal and others.

Will leave you a clue when I pay my items with debit or credit, you’ll know who wrote this review keep my name in mind.

Also please be sure to keep the front of the business both doors clean without receips or any other kinds of trash flying all around if possible daily.

I’ve tried to like this place but just can’t! This was the deal breaker. You have to watch what you buy. They will stock the shelves over some clearance item with a similar item that is not on clearance.

Example: see attached photo of an example of how they stock the shelves. I recently purchased 2 boxes of Think protein bars. Expensive btw $8.99 a box. Advertising tag stated clearance and they only had one flavor and the boxes were spread across the shelf in neat rows. Clearance tag said %50 off. I grabbed 2 boxes of the 5 on the shelf. When I got home I was looking at my receipt and I was charged $8.99 for both. The next day I returned to the store. Went and took a photo of the clearance item and there were about 10 boxes now on the shelf. I went to the cashier and she turned me over to the manager. The manager made it seem like it was my fault. Yep I should have looked that it was for just one flavor, which they did not have. So the manager said I will just give you back the cost of one. When she gave me my money back she only gave me $7.89. I wasn’t about to get into a discussion over a dollar. What I will do is not shop here any longer.

The customers are a whole different story. Even when I have brought it up to the cashiers they all have agreed. The customers are rude that shop there. My first time shopping a woman behind me went off on the cashier because she wasn’t going fast enough with my groceries. While I was bagging my own she started calling us useless etc. typical entitled Karen. And an old one at that.

The produce is horrible. Not cheap or any deal and is usually flavorless.

Tired of giving them my hard earned money for less than par quality items. Will only go if it’s an emergency.

I buy certain things here like chopped salad and giant cans of chili & fruit and crinkle cut French fries. I do wish they would stop carrying products made with high fructose corn syrup all together because that's just so damaging to the intestines. It also gives me a headache immediately. Any corn derivative has the same ill effect. Removing one cheap ingredient is far better for society than all the drugs a doctor might give to solve the maladies it creates.

You know what you are getting when you go here pretty consistent bulk items, and a large produce section. Lots of deals on cookies and pastries. And the whole back wall is a neat section. Ribs, T-bone to pot roast to filet mignon....large selection. Also a large beer selection. Remember to check the expiration date on items. They are usually pretty good about it,but Ive purchased a few expired items, and THEY were sticklers about it....so check

They dont honor their own specials even if you are registered and receiving the special offers by email if you dont have an app. Then what is the reason to be registered online? To fill my email box with the garbage? Have enough of this BS. Immediately canceling my membership and blocking NOT so smart, but definitely final.

I usually go to buy the Big bags of carrots for our horses. The past month theyve only had them Once. Not real happy about that. Especially when I call and they say theyre getting a delivery tomorrow I show up and NO Carrots

Bought a precooked chicken the sign on the bin said $3.99. I thought well ok good price Took it home.took a bite and tasted rancid meat! I returned it to the store, had to wait in line, the clerk took my receipt, crossed out the chicken on it and asked me if I wanted the bag. No thanks, rancid chicken juices are fowl! she threw the receipt on the table in front of me and proceeded to start checking the next guy. I asked her if she was going to put the refund on my receipt it seemed she didn t know what to do. Took a few minutes but then asked me to insert my card. I noted I had paid over $7.00 for it don t know why I didn t see this before. However, bad chicken! Poor, bordering on rude service from the alleged manager. Thumbs down

A cheery bunch! I love the selection and prices, good produce section and parking. I feel safe healthwise with the spacing at check out. I would feel a lot better if the employees kept 6 feet or more distance from me. I would also like the employees to be more motivated to answer my question and have better product knowledge or a willingness to ask someone else if they don t know.

This market is always very clean, good prices, freindly and attentive staff . The store has all the amenities and food supplies you expect from a supermarket, plus restaurant packaging. Excellent frozen food section. Good beer And wine selection. Sushi is very good and made fresh. Wide choices of deli and breads. Great for all your baking needs. Produce is very nice. Great meat and chicken aria I like a lot. Ample parking. I would recommend this place.

This is my go-to shopping spot for the supplies needed for our fire station. Competitive pricing in convenient sizes for the crew. So far, I havent been disappointed with the quality of any of the items we stock from Smart & Final. A plus, this store is bigger than the other S&Fs, with a friendly and helpful staff.

I bought mayonnaise yesterday and it turns out the mayonnaise was expired on jun 16, 2019... I was very disappointed on wasting my money on something that was expired... And i recommend people to check the expiration date.. For everyone safety because most likely this gonna give you food poisoning... Cause they cant check there products right... I will be notifying the health inspector to look into this...

I gotta say this is a well managed store! I was occasionally shopping at this store and the service was always great! So I started going more often and I have to say it was a wise move( I was going to another smart and final before), now I go at least 3 times a week. I do shop in every area of the store and every time I am satisfied with their service. Meline is a great manager, Hugo at produce, Denny, Doug, the cashiers, everyone! Thank you for making shopping really enjoyable.

The Smart & Final Extra store located in the Burbank Towne Center is an excellent source for a wide selection of bulk goods, as well as fresh produce, bakery, dairy, and meat items one might find at a traditional grocery store (hence the Extra in the title for this location, as compared to, say, the Burbank Boulevard location nearby, which is not designated Extra, and mainly stocks the large bulk items for which Smart & Final is well known). In addition to servicing many business clients who purchase bulk cases of food, condiments, spices, and cleaning products, this Smart & Final Extra fills a niche rather well between warehouse stores and traditional markets, offering outstanding prices on both large size and market size items at prices that compete well, if not regularly beat, both markets and warehouse stores. Like a market, there are weekly specials in an advertising circular, multi-buy discounts, and sizes accommodating home use, but for those who cook regularly, there is an opportunity to purchase large-sized bulk spices and other confections absent at a traditional market. The shopping feel is still market-like, and not the ordeal that a trip to the warehouse store often feels like. This location is easily accessible, and but for the recent addition of a particular popular coffee shop in the parking lot, there is usually plenty of parking right in front of the store and the adjacent intersection, while often busy, is easy to negotiate.

I mentioned some freshness issues with produce and was pleased to hear that they are looking into it. This store has some severe mold issues (look up at the ceiling tiles by the back of the store) which triggers our sensitivities and probably makes the employees dizzy and unable to concentrate. They have some great bulk pricing so I hope they clean up the 2 Burbank area stores.

I love this place! They have a lot of selections for produce and a lot of selections for other things that you will be eating. They have a nice bakery too. The service has always been quick and the store is always cleanand well lit.

I came to Smart and Final Extra! in search of a special biscuit for my family, but boy was I surprised at what I found instead! Boy it really does have something a little EXTRA! Namely aisles and aisles of fountain-sized syrups and garnishes! And fresh meats! They even have cereal! And dont get me started on the produce! True, its not always the freshest in town, but if youre going to do a pasta dish with fresh veggies tonight S&FE! is your place! And they have succulents! I like a plant I can sink my teeth into (just kidding but sometimes it does sink its teeth into you)! Thanks for the great service, S&FE! Also I buy soy milk there! And its just a short walk from Vons and Crawfords!

Love the store, but some of the cashiers can be a bit lazy. Dont mind bagging my own groceries, but object when the cashier is leaning against the cash register while I bag groceries, then Im a bit annoyed. After all, its not my job.

I really give this Smart & Final location a 4 and-a-half, but obviously I cant give the 5th star a half rating. At this point and time, their prices are good compared to Costco, Wal-Mart, the 99 cents store, and the K-Mart I shop at in Burbank, California. Wal-Mart slightly wins over all but not by a lot because Smart & Final has weekly specials food-wise... But I also dont give this place a full 5 star review because a couple of their employees attitude suck! But that is also obviously out of the companys control.
