Great little italian market and deli with all the imported Italian goods you could ever need. Fresh italian cold cuts. Good Italian pastries and gelato at the counter. Opens up your their restaurant, Pinocchio. Definitely a throwback, down home, old school Italian American joint.

Classic Italian grocery and counter service for food to dine in or take to go. It's very popular with locals and offers great Italian groceries. They also have some Italian cookies, cheeses, pastas, amazing gelato 😋, and -for those of you meat eaters- a great collection of cured meats and sausages.
The prepared food counter offers lasagna, pizzas, calzones, and many antipasto salad options. Parking in back and along the street.

Too many good things, their olives, their wines, their cannoli, among a lot more. They carry Perugina candies, my favorite Rossana.

Good old fashioned deli/restaurant. The food is decent, all salads are made in house and are pretty good. The pizza is decent and a cheese pizza is $16 for a 16 inch pie.

Review №28

they have a good selection of ice cream and baked goods but I spent about 40 bucks and the food was gross. I got the chicken parmesan and they gave me a pale/boiled piece of chicken with spaghetti. My girlfriend got the fettuccine Alfredo and the pasta was hard and the chicken was cubed which is a strange choice. Not to mention our garlic bread has a huge hair on it. Olive garden has better food than this. overall it was an interesting place to visit but the food is pretty terrible and it's way overpriced. If you're going to eat here please be aware of exactly what you're getting and make sure you choose wisely.

We went here for my grandsons 12 th birthday dinner. It was horrible everything looked like it had been sitting out for a couple of days and it all tasted old. The only good thing was a salad my daughter had them make fresh. We have been going here for 40 years and every time we go it gets worse. Besides the lousy food, We had 10 people with us. We brought a ice cream cake with us along with our own knife, plates and forks which we have done in the past but now we're told we could not cut it unless we paid them $15 dollars just for bringing it in.It didn't matter we were spending over $200 dollars for dinner. We paid it but we will never go back again.

TRAINWRECK. The staff is all over the map. They fight in front of all the customers. No one is managing them that knows how to run a food line. But it's California where people are brain dead so it just continues.

This employee was extremely rude to me. You would think at this price point they could afford some reasonable customer service. I've been to little Ceasars' with more professional and courteous employees. And the pizza isn't even that good. You'd think if they're going to talk to you like you're trash they might at least be keeping some well kept secret great pizza behind the counter. I've had better pizza at Golden Corral. How this place stays in business boggles my mind. Needless to say I won't be returning.

The absolute best Italian Deli in Los Angeles and probably the West Coast.
It’s the definition of Old Skool. The deli counter is very very long loaded with every Italian cold cut and cheese you can imagine. We die for their sopressata,Capicola, Genoa salami,, provolone, and homemade sausages. They bake fabulous breads from which we always make little sandwiches in the car on the way back home.
They have gelato and a big wine selection.
They have all home raviolis and lasagna in frozen, and big selection of dry pastas. They have many hard to find products like caponata.
Best of all in the other side they have an old skool red checkered tablecloth sit down
Cafeteria style restaurant. No frills just to die for food. And in addition to hot lunches get the Monte Carlo sandwiches to take home. We celebrate our Birthday lunches there. The cookie selection is unparalleled in LA. Honestly it’s like being back East
In our childhood. Don’t miss this place. We drive 45 mins to get here.

Closed on Mondays of course.

I watched the person preparing my food place the pastrami in a microwave (so fresh yum), and while it was getting hot and ready, he proceeded to use his gloved hand to play with his cell phone and dig in his pocket. Then that same gloved hand finished preparing my sammich. The food, in general, would have been at home in the finest of 1970's cafeterias.

There remain so few small businesses in today's cities and towns, and it is not only because of the dominance of large brands. The type of personable service and quality sales that our parents were able to expect have declined for a variety of other reasons. This is why locations such as Handy Market, Pinocchio's, and Monte Carlo Deli shine so bright. They offer great products and great service in a great atmosphere. The latter two of these three businesses share a location a little closer to Burbank's city center, though still on the quaint (albeit car-heavy) Magnolia Boulevard. Pinocchio's is an unpretentious Italian eatery, while Monte Carlo offers a variety, both culinary and financial, of locally-made as well as imported food and kitchen products. Great gelato, cannoli (though the ricotta needs to be drained for longer to make a firmer filling), breads, and more.

Lovely and classic Italian bodega. A wide L shaped hot food counter in the front offering the expected meatballs a few lasagna varieties and pre made sandos with in house breads. Next to this is a gelato case that had 2-3 people waiting. Deli case full of every imported cured and cooked proteins and lovely array of Italian cheeses cut to order. If you’re near Burbank and want to walk into nostalgia for all the senses this will do it.
