Cela Cafe

I'm a fan of Mediterranean food, but this plate was unfortunately nothing to write home about. The falafel was rather dry and the portions were small for the $20+ I spent on the plate. I wish there was a larger amount of salad instead of rice and lavash to balance out the dryness.

This is an order at the counter restaurant with no service and a self-serve water station. The interior has a few tables and they have a patio in the back, but even with the tarp overhead, it got extremely hot outside.

First time at Cela Cafe in Burbank. I don't know what the hype is on IG about this place. Service was terrible and the food took 45 mins to prepare. We ordered 2 plates of beef shawarma and 1 chicken shawarma wrap. The shawarma chicken wrap and was serviced a shawarma plate. (Order was wrong!) I asked for the order to be corrected… They took the order back and came back with the Worst Shawarma wrap l've ever eaten. Couldn’t eat it the sloppy wrap. See for yourself! I couldn't find the chicken shawarma in the wrap! It's like they took the plate they originally served and dump it all in the wrap and gave back to me and I wouldn’t notice. $18 and change for this disaster of a wrap. No pride or serve to this place! I asked for a refund.

Stopped here with some friends to grab a late lunch and am so glad we did. A staff member suggested I order the chicken chicken shawarma wrap so I ordered that and the hummus. Both were soooo delicious. Prices and portion size were great!

WOW! I'm super impressed with this. I hope each and every one of you discover Cela...it's kind of a hidden gem!! Burbank born and raised owners know and love their community and are showing it in the love and care they've put into every inch of Cela. They have newly remodeled the place and made sure to add an adorable seating patio in the back. The service was quick, friendly and generous. And let me tell you about the PESTO!! OMGee... they make it all fresh in house and it was superb. Please go visit if you're in the area. I highly recommend.

I would eat here every week if I could because the food is really good! Too bad I live far. Cela café is a cute and cozy café that serves Mediterranean food. You can get Shawarma, Falafel, Gyro, Lulleh in a wrap, salad or combo plate. My mom and I really enjoyed the Falafel, Chicken Shawarma wrap and their Lulleh and gyro plate. I could tell it was freshly made. It was flavorful and delicious! We also enjoyed their smoothies.

Prices are reasonable and staff were nice and friendly. Keep in mind that seating inside is limited but they have a huge patio in the back with larger tables. Also, the parking is only street parking. We got lucky we found parking right away.

Will stop by again if we are in the area.

Extremely long wait time, brought my parents here and they served the food as it was coming out. My mom received her food first before my dad and I, she finished hers long before we got our food. Food quantity is very small for the price of 20 dollars. Food is great just not worth the price. Looks like they only have one cook making the food.

Terrible customer service. They said the wait time for the order was 5-10 minutes, but I stood there for 30 minutes, and the order was still being prepared. I do not recommend this place.

Saw ad on instagram and decided to try. Ordered Mediterranean wrap, Cela wrap and beef lule wrap. I liked the food despite a friend of mine. Tasty and juice if you like Mediterranean style cuisine. The only downside, paper wrap that sticks to lavash. It was hard to take it off. Guys, use foil wrapping paper. Firm 4 stars.

I had the Mediterranean salad and the chicken plate. My daughter seemed to enjoy the chicken plate however the salad felt drowned in the lime vinegarette which made it overwhelming and the kalamata olives just kills this salad. It wasn't as good as it's hyped to be. Zakou tastes better I fear.

The place is clean and nice. Staff is polite and helpful. Food was tasty, my group enjoyed their chosen meals.
My only real issue was the amount of actual meat/protein per plate of food. It was lacking. There are other places in the city that load you up with EVERYTHING for the same or lesser price.

Food is fine, but nothing exceptional, but above all, be prepared to wait for it.

I came in at 2:30 on a Wednesday, by no means peak hours. I was informed they were out of chicken shawarma, fine. I'll get beef and a gyro. There were 4 people waiting for food already.

I then proceeded to wait 40 mins for two wraps, which cost me $40. Just to have it be... Okay?

I'm from a place where you can get the best shawarma of your life for $10, so this was definitely disappointing. Not worth the value for money, food was solid but not great, but everything around it needs a total overhaul.

I love Mediterranean food and have had beef shawarma countless times. This place was disgusting. The beef tasted very old, hard on the edges as if its been sitting out in the air and some pieces to hard to chew. The rice had pieces in it also that were too hard and would definitely break a tooth if your not careful. Its Not Cheap. Prices are terrible and so was my experience. Will NEVER go there again.

Avoid this place. Terrible food. I paid $46 for two plates and THEN the guy at the counter informed me it would be a 20 minute wait. After 30 minutes we got our sub-standard meal. AVOID!

Stopped here with some friends to grab a late lunch and am so glad we did. A staff member suggested I order the chicken chicken shawarma wrap so I ordered that and the hummus. Both were soooo delicious. Prices and portion size were great!

Awesome, flavorful food! Creamy hummus, tangy roasted chicken kabobs, basmati rice and cucumbers and tomatoes. Pita also deserves a mention - soft and scrumptious!!

Great place for quick Mediterranean bites. Back side patio is well maintained, its a cozy place. Service is good. Loved the pesto wrap, kebab plates are ok, luleh kebab is best.

I've had the chicken lullleh wrap twice, it is my favorite, but the shawarma is delicious too! There's a very cute patio in the back with a fountain and twinkle lights. Wonderful fast casual Mediteranean dining experience that won't break the bank...and healthy smoothies for anyone who'd rather go that route. Something for everyone!

The music was painfully loud. Tahini wrap was a bit bland; service was excellent! I'll have to come back on a day when they are not having a "party" and order something different. The wrap was a bit small for the price too, $17 out the door was a lot of money for the amount of food I received.

The place was nice, the prices were ok. It fell a bit flat with the food. We got a felafel plate and a lule kabob plate. I have countless amounts of kabob run though me. This one was very different but not one that I enjoyed. Sides like the salad, hummus and rice were all very off for me.

Falafel flavor was not bad, just the texture was more dry and dense.

Id give it another try with something else on the menu.

It's a small but spacious place to eat. It has a nice atmosphere. The employees are friendly and helpful. Great customer service.

I ordered the Gyro plate and it was delicious and flavorful. It's cooked well and so was the rice.
They serve you a good portion of food and it's worth the amount you pay.

I just had lunch at this place, and it was delicious! I go the Chicken Mediterranean Salad, it was huge. We also ordered a wrap (Pesto Chicken) and the Chicken Plate, everything was prepared fresh and tasted very, very good. The service was great too!

My wife and I ordered the Gyro Wrap and Chicken Pesto Panini. I can't explain in words how amazing both of these were. But I'll try... The flavor depth and complexity, the warm, JUICY, mouth watering aroma just blew me away. Tasty Food is simply an understatement. We sat in the big beautiful, spacious back patio, which was really nice. My new favorite place to eat in Burbank.

Ordered 110 dollars worth of pick up items, 3/4 had the best part missing. Quinoa chop w/chicken...no chicken. Greek add gyro?...no gyro. Combo plate w seasoned fries?... no fries. Then when trying to get a refund i could only get those items refunded, but the entire salad is no longer an entree...so how is that fair?

I don't think you can even call this shwarma. They literally put sausage medallions that were VERY dry. On top of that, there was 80% unseasoned undercooked rice and a full tomato to fill space. To be fair, the restaurant didnt even smell like meat like most shwarma places so i shouldve known not to try it. This should only be a smoothie place, but to be honest I don't even think they'd do that right. And overall avoid if possible. China Dragon is the next block over WAY better and not over priced for how terrible the food is.

I ordered a Kalifornia salad with chicken and hummus, and was extremely satisfied. Everything was really fresh and tasty. I especially liked the taste of mint in the salad. I'll definitely return!

Very tasty, with a nice patio area in the back. Today we ordered the gyro and tahini chicken wrap with fries. All really good! I've ordered some other wraps and plates before and have never been disappointed.

Difficult to see from the road or sidewalk, managment should invest in a sign, as it's obvious they've invested into making the inside and back area nice, but I've had a hard time finding the place the times I've been here.

Chicken was incredibly dry. You could tell just by looking at it (photo attached) just how dry and overcooked it was. Also ordered it online and never got a notification that my order was ready, just had to guess based on the estimate I was given. So who knows how long my order had been sitting there waiting for me.

Their chicken is super dry and lacks any type of flavor. They ought to fry it less and marinate the chicken longer. They do have nice patio area for those people who are scared of Covid.

The food was ok. The salmon was dry, and so was the rice. I sat outside because inside the restaurant is very narrow. There are no fans, so it was a bit uncomfortable, but, overall, the experience was ok. It's really pricey, though.

This place should be "$$" or "$$$"!! Plate took long to arrive, found a hair in salad and "they were sorry about it" dish was disappointnig with way more rice than beef which was overly cooked and dry. Needs to fix TOO MANY things to charge this price!!

Delicious place, fresh ingredients, reasonable prices and, indeed healthy. The waiters and cooks were insanely nice with me. I will be back. BTW, they follow Covid procedures and they also have a cozy patio in the back.

The food is deliciously prepared, fresh and filling. The staff are absolutely wonderful! Beyond being courteous, kind and flexible, they even stayed late to save the day when we dropped our food after leaving. So sweet and generous - will definitely be returning again and again. Thank you!!

Food tasted really good, and they make it pretty fresh. Only issue was that they give you a tiny amount of hummus and they don't include garlic sauce. They give you a huge hot pepper and grilled tomato.

Unfriendly staff with slow service. I shouldn’t have to repeatedly greet you for you to acknowledge that there is a customer right in front of you. Employee just clicked around on the computer like we didn’t exist. Waited over 20 min for our to-go food and they didn’t even apologize for the long wait. Terrible first impression. Stop giving businesses like these with bad service your money !

My co-worker loves this place as a healthy option. I don't eat a lot of Mediterranean food, so I find it a little difficult to navigate the menu.

I've come a couple of times now and this last time I ordered the beef kabob shish, I didn't want the grilled peppers and tomato cucumber salad but they were not willing to make any substitutions. I told them they don't need to serve me the salad as I'd rather not waste food that I'm not going to eat.

My co-worker asked if they could make an exception and give me fries this time since she frequents here. They said okay this time, but I noticed later on my receipt they charged me for a side of fries and you'll see in the pic they still served me the salad.

The food was decent, but still haven't had anything that left my taste buds wanting more. I'll eventually give it one more shot as I noticed the Topolini salad that someone else was eating that looked really good and hopefully worth the price.
