Prime Pizza is an authentic New York style pizzeria featuring round and square pies, slices, wings, salads, craft beer and wine.
I write a lot of restaurant reviews of all kinds of different foods, especially from a vegetarian perspective, in many places all over Los Angeles and the world...but all I really need out of life is solid NYC pizza slices. Where I live in the Santa Clarita Valley they're hard to come by, so a drive to Burbank to discover a place that checks all the boxes for NYC slices, and offers more deliciousness...well, warm up the car, honey, we're going out tonight!
My wife, son and I visited together...it's a small spot with just a few parking spaces...we were lucky to nab one. You order at the conter in a sort of inside space and then take it to go or eat at their outside tables. They've got super-rock solid NYC slices. We all had cheese slices to start and had no complaints...perfect crust...perfect ratio of cheese to sauce (ie not too much cheese and not too little sauce) gave us the exact experience we were looking for. Hallelujah!
Enter their thicker square pie slices...more Detroit style...not your typical, basic restaurant pizza...but truly fantastic and perfectly cooked crispy dough with all kinds of enticing options on top...we had Sicillian slices of this variety and are still salivating over the gorgeous flavors that went into our mouths.
If Prime Pizza opened in Santa Clarita, we'd set up camp outside and never leave. It was super good...well worth the 20 minute drive from where we were and they have plenty of reasons on their menu for us to go back, try new things, and have more of what we really loved.
This is excellent NYC and Sicilian/Detroit style pizza, right in Burbank. This is what we've all been looking for.

This place caught my mind’s eye and trapped it in a thirst for pizza. Finding it online… and I finally stopped in.
Going to sample a vegan pizza for a future delivery I thought. But vegan is only for whole pies, nothing by the slice.

Cheese pizza crust gets 6 🌟 . So crispy, not greasy, one of the best I've had. The meat lovers square pizza was packed with meats, however the thin crust was my favorite. The salad was delicious, great vinaigrette. The place was a busy, to go, pick up was hopping. Parking is limited, but if you wait, you'll get a spot. My niece and her fiance wanted to try this place out and they loved it. Would, and we will come back again. Tables need to get cleaned, I know they're picnic style, but a good scrubbing would help, maybe a coat of paint would make it easier to clean.

My friend recommended coming here to try this pizza place since he been to the LA location. The first thing you should know about this location is that the parking here is very limited and small. I was lucky to find a spot in the front and we were lucky enough to find a table inside too since it was raining. They have outdoor seating but no one was sitting there because it was all wet. They only have like 4 tables inside and it's very small so be aware. When we arrived they had people inside waiting for their order and also people picking up to go order. I wanted the spicy pepperoni pizza but they ran out so my friend and I got the regular pepperoni pizza. I also got the lemon pepper wings with ranch. The pizza came out first and then my wings. I thought the pizza crust was crunchy and the taste was okay. The lemon pepper wings were not my favorite, I like another wings spot way better. My friend got a full bbq chicken pizza to go for his family. The customer service was great, they bring the food to you and also clean your table afterwards.

A Slice Worthy of _____
Listen.
If you're wondering what to expect, I'm gonna do my best to paint you a picture.
I’ve been lucky enough to eat pizza in some incredible places—Florence, Rome, those little tucked-away spots somewhere, sometime in Italy where the locals swear by their favorite spots where the slice basically comes straight out of the oven of heaven. I say this not as a brag, but as a baseline for what to cautiously expect (purely out of respect).
So, walking into Prime I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted - quick pizza that respects the basics but gets the details more or less just right.
And let me tell you. They didn’t just meet expectations—they decidedly surpassed them.
Let’s talk about the crust. It’s thin, as it should be, and hot with just the right balance of crisp and chew. The edges had a slight char, bringing a subtle smokiness that didn’t overpower but added to the overall flavor. It’s the kind of crust that holds its shape when folded yet feels light enough that keeps you going back for another slice.
The sauce was bright and full of flavor. We got the arrabiatta so it had some spicy kick to it but not so much that you're worried more about it coming out than going in. It was spot on. You could taste the quality of the tomatoes without making it the star of the show. It was just the right amount of tangy, with a slight sweetness and spiciness that paired swimmingly with the cheese.
And speaking of cheese, they nailed it. Like nailed it nailed it. Creamy and melted to perfection, with just a hint of that savory tang you get from good mozzarella. They didn’t drown the pizza in it either, which I appreciated. Really all the toppings were thoughtfully done. Each one adding something to the slice without making it feel heavy or one-sided.
And let’s not forget the fold. You know it’s a good slice when you can fold it up, take a bite, and everything stays exactly where it’s supposed to. It’s a simple pleasure really, but it makes all the difference. And it just really rounds out the whole experience.
But what I loved most about this place was how unpretentious it is. They clearly care about making great pizza, and it shows. It’s not trying to be anything other than what it is—a really, really, good neighborhood slice.
So, to sum up: this place is a slice worthy of:
A craving, a hankering, a comfort, or a celebration.
The everyday slice. A true slice of the people.

3 slices of cheese pizza - 5 🌟!
This is my second Prime Pizza review. Prime Pizza makes excellent thin crust pizza and offers it up by the slice which is often what I'm looking for as a good, quick and tasty lunch.
They seem to be slowly rolling put an LA based expansion with more locations coming out over the year. I was happy to see the experience I had at the first location was matched by their Burbank expansion.
I sort of vaguely remember an Italian deli style place in the spot before but happy that Prime Pizza took over. The building sits on its own lot and there is parking plus good street parking. They have a great, large outdoor patio that is on the best side of the building for afternoon shade.
In a city full of pizza options, Prime Pizza is one worth visiting.

Absolutely the best in town! The simplicity of the pizza truly lets the high-quality ingredients shine. I usually opt for pick-up since paying over $50 for pizza through delivery apps feels a bit steep.

This isn’t a food review, but a couple of months ago, while passing by Prime Pizza, I noticed an employee folding boxes. I was shocked to see the employee sneeze into one of the boxes and continue folding without addressing it. While I used to enjoy their pizza, this incident has kept me from ordering again. I’m sharing this feedback in the hope that they improve their hygiene practices to maintain better standards.

I'm biased because NY-style pizza is my jam. I love that this place has a NY vibe to it. Whole pies, slices and square, grandma pies, a handful of seats inside. The only thing missing is the NY accent! Fuggedaboudit! If you're a pizza purist, then you agree it's all about the dough. Perfectly chewy in all the right places and crispy everywhere else. The undercarriage has to support the toppings which their pies do with ease. I asked for well-done because I like the crust crispier. Great ratio of cheese-sauce-toppings. Add it all together, it tastes excellent! I knocked off a star for service only because my mobile order took at least 15 minutes longer than the quoted time. Yo, I was HUNGRY!! I look forward to the Northridge location opening because that's closer to where I live.

If you like thin crust pizza, this place is for you! Delicious crust and cheese. Incredibly friendly service.
Edit: I have to add, someone recommended the vegan pizza with pepperoni. I purchased the Vegan Supreme, and it was incredible. I liked it more than the cheese pizza. Worth every penny.

Its a shake cuz their pizza recipe is actually good. Today is absolutely my last time.

Got an email promising a free slice of pizza if I voted at all locations, with the only stipulation being “one slice per person.” When I arrived, they claimed they were out of free slices. This feels like blatant false advertising—a bait-and-switch tactic to get customers in the door, only to be told to buy something instead. Nowhere in the email did it mention a limit on the amount of free pizza available. If you’re going to offer a promotion, either deliver on it or don’t bother. Disappointed and feel scammed!

There are so few places in LA that will let you order just a couple slices of pizza - it's nice to know they offer a wide variety of pies by the slice. Was in the neighborhood and ordered takeout from the counter. They run a smooth operation - menu makes pricing clear and lots of people were coming in for their to-go orders. I didn't dine in but they have beers and a few tables available. Wasn't a problem for me but some people may not like that they make only one size pizza, but it's big and if you don't want the whole thing, they let you order slices. I wish more pizza places did this. I didn't LOVE the too-chewy crust on my pepperoni pizza but it still tasted good.

I was harassed by the store manager named. Marleni. I was parked in the prime pizza lot waiting for the store to open. She approached me in my car telling me in a rude tone to me to move my car since I'm a Uber driver. My Uber sign was on the windshield yet the blue light was turned off. I respectfully told Marleni that I was waiting to buy a pizza and am a loyal customer. She continued to argue with me saying I'll have my car towed and walked away. I continued to wait until the store opened and spoke to one of the employees. It was a young gentleman with red hair and a beard. I explained to my rude experience about Marleni as he told me she is the active duty manager. He then told me he will contact the other manager when they arrive in the store. He told me my lunch will be on the house due to her rude approach and no proper customer service skills. Marleni is not a good representative for Prime Pizza or any Company. I plan to return back thanks to the fellow employee that apologized and done a customer service recovery.

I really wanted to like the pizza. Ordered a Supreme tonight.... my first order from Prime. It looked OK and smelled really good.
The flavor was pretty good, but within 15 minutes I got queezy and nearly threw up. Not just me, same for my adult son who also ate the pizza.
Something was really off with this food. I have a fairly iron stomach, so this is not on me.
As for the atmosphere, it was really off-putting. Was met at the door and not allowed inside. A guy retrieved my pizza and handed it off to me at the door. Uh... what? To me, this means the price point is all wrong for this kind of takeout only, maybe sit on a bench outside kind of restaurant.
The only plus was that the pizza was ready when they said it would be.
Not for me. YMMV.

If you want an authentic and delicious pizza and can’t make up your mind on which to order, come try a few!
My husband and I got about 6 pieces total in different flavors and each was delicious!! The pizza was fresh, cooked to perfection and had just the right crunch to the bread. I will say, the service and pricing are not great.
There were a bunch of girls talking the cashiers ear off when we arrived, so we stood there awkwardly waiting for about 5 min while they chatted and he didn’t even acknowledge us. If it wasn’t for the terrible parking lot, we would have just left. The price was also high per slice.
If you don’t care about service, the food and atmosphere are good. They had some seating inside and outside. Inside, it looks and feels like an old Italian
pizza spot from the movies, with its quirky memorabilia and famous visitors. But the music they play is old school hip hop. We enjoyed the pizza very much, but will likely not return due to the high price, bad parking and not so great service. It’s also quite busy here.

I'm gonna do it even though it's maybe not smart to do it... I need to compare PRIME Pizza to my current local fav Prince Street. IT'S ON THE LEVEL!
The grandma slice and regular slice are crisp and oily and tasty and everything you want in a slice of pizza pie. I also sampled wings and wanted mozza sticks and meatballs and everything because I wasn't disappointed by the pizza and wings. Topped everything with a nice fizzy drink to spike my insulin.
I arrived right at open and there were slices ready to serve, and a stream of deliveries and pickups already occurring in the first 20 minutes of opening. The steady business is a good omen! I feel like everyone knew about Prime Pizza and I didn't :/
I'm looped in now, though, and I'm excited to visit their Altadena location.

The pizza is consistently delectable. I’ve never actually eaten at the restaurant until my last visit and we had a group of around 10. Not the best place for a larger party when it’s 95° outside but it’s not their fault. At least there was plenty of water in frequently refilled dispensers and picnic tables with umbrellas. It was just too hot and there aren’t many tables inside. But the food more than makes up for that.

Food was decent. The slice that was served to me was sitting there for a long time.

Ok pizza

This is our favorite pizza spot in Burbank. The Sicilian style pizza crust is bomb - light and fluffy/foccacia esque. Grandma sauce has seal of approval from my Italian mother. Great for parties and leftovers keep great

I had the square, spicy, pepperoni pizza with the fresh salad. Food was great. Male staff. Might catch a Dodger in the area😉

Great pizza. A little costly but you get a huge pizza! Tasted great and fresh, their ranch is beyond good. My only gripe was there were people in their parking lot just smoking cigarettes and hanging around (not eating or anything). So, if you come here order it to go or eat inside unless you want the smell of cigarettes to accompany your meal.

Came to this place on Sunday (5-14-23).
One word... DELICIOUS! The pizza was so good.. Husband loved the wings, and for him to like wings, it's a big deal. I did order too much but it was so worth it. Staff was very nice. The cashier that was there that way was super nice. I liked her attitude. Will definitely go back

I was hoping this pizza would be good. Unfortunately, the pepperoni and white sauce pizza were below average pizza. The grandma Alice was average. We had a slice of the grandma pizza, white sauce pizza and pepperoni. I’ve had pizza in New York and was hoping this would be as delicious. It reminded me of the pizza slices we had when I was in elementary school. We called it cardboard pizza. The slices were very oily and the cheese with toppings slid off the pizza while trying to eat it.
I can say the customer service was good. They have a friendly staff and were attentive to us as we sat down at a table.
The building is small but not bad. It looks nice and clean. It can get crowded inside as I said the space is small. They do have an outside patio.
I would go back and try this again but only if I was really hungry and had no other choice.
