The Inkwell Tavern is a medium sized bar with a spacious floor plan. The bar was long and along one side with comfortable booths on the other side. The drinks were high quality and the prices were reasonable. In addition they offer a $2 off for happy hour drinks. The service was quick and the staff was professional. The only drawback is there is no parking.

My parents talk about this restaurant frequently. They live close by and like to go pretty often. This was my first time going, but I had a really great time. They are a small, pub-like restaurant, serving burgers and fries. The feel is overall pleasant, the staff is very nice, with the owner there himself, who also checked in on us to make sure everything was well.
They have events going on during the week such as trivia and karaoke, but we went on an off night this time.
I had their traditional smash burger, and added a little bit of their spice rub to it, to give it a kick. The burger was juicy and not overcooked, with a little bit of pink, which I enjoyed.
Overall it was a pleasant experience! I can see it becoming lively on nights when a game or event is going on, but even on off nights there is still a good crowd.

First time here. Didn't know what to expect. Walking in, you enter a modern, comfortable restaurant and bar.

Once seated you are greeted and given menus. You order at the bar. We started with a couple of beers and then got a Brussels Sprouts Salad and a double smash burger. The salad was excellent and the burger was "oh my gawd" delicious! Probably the best burger I've had in years!

The staff was really cool, accommodating and helpful.

This is definitely a great spot for drinks, food and hanging out!

I checked this bar out early on a Friday during happy hour. If you’re a lover of books, you’ll love both the decor, and references to literature throughout the menu. They had a great cocktail menu with some classics, as well as signature creations. I forget the name of the 2 cocktails that I ordered, but both were very well balanced and delicious, they were also very fairly priced. If you love high end spirits, they have a well curated selection on their back bar. Their drinks menu also included some great looking nonalcoholic options, which I think is so important to create an inclusive environment for all patrons. On the food side, I ordered the smash burger with herb fries (as a big fan of thyme, these were killer). The burger itself was tasty, my one note is that the bun seemed a little overly toasted, bordering on burnt. I loved the thoughtfulness of serving the fries in a metal cup, so as to keep them nice and hot while I enjoyed my burger. The service staff were all incredibly welcoming, and professional, and the vibes I gathered were “very knowledgeable, yet unpretentious”. I’ll probably be in there on Sunday to watch football, as I saw they open at 10 and show games, which I’m very excited about.

It's very cozy inside. Tables, booths and bar so a verify if seating. The cocktails were delicious. The food was great. Our group shared several dishes. My favorite were the beef tallow waffle fries, and the Mac and cheese. However I can say that salad, smash burger, salt and vinegar and buffalo rings are all to die for. I will definitely be going back.

Fun new place
Burger is awesome, and the drinks have a $2 discount during happy hours. Usually, it starts to get busy around 6:30 - 7 pm.
Stop by on Friday night and the atmosphere was great. We had a great time.

Sunday brunch was fantastic - great food (my table shared the Smash Burger, Lox and Wings - special shout-out to the Rosemary Fries). The bartender and waitstaff did a great job juggling the busy dining room and were very helpful. The bloody Mary’s were top notch. Overall the decor was perfect - comfy booths with plenty of space, fun literary theme, and vibes of an upscale bar. Looking forward to an evening there. Recommend.

The team at Inkwell is fantastic! I was looking for a casual spot to gather some friends for birthday cocktails. I spoke to a few places that wanted a guaranteed spend for a group reservation. Inkwell was super accommodating and very relaxed about my reservation, which I really appreciated. From my communication with the bar manager ahead of time, to the on-site team the day of, this place has customer service on lock! Beyond that, the cocktails are great and we really enjoyed the food! I was able to order some party platters ahead of time, which kept all my guests happy. I would def recommend this spot for a gathering! Great space, great food, great people. My wife and I had our wedding reception here. From helping with preparation by being available and quick with answers to the day of the reception go so smooth. The bartenders were so helpful and great as bartenders. The foooood was sooooo gooood (get the twice fried wings). I can’t say enough positive stuff about Inkwell Tavern!

While staying downtown Burbank, I typed in restaurants and due to it being a Sunday most restaurants closed at 9pm. Inkwell was one of the few open until 11pm. However, it is not downtown, it is actually in the opposite direction closer to Ikea/Walgreens which was only about a 10 minute walk, but it was worth it.
Upon entering, it really is a tavern where there are tables but no waitstaff as orders are placed at the bar. However, they do at least deliver drinks/food to your table. I really did not know what to expect but the ratings were high, so, trusting my fellow Yelpers, I knew I could not go wrong. They had a good wine selection and I chose Ridge Three Valleys red blend which is one of my favorites. My companion is all about dry martinis and he told Frank the bartender that he did a great job! They offer fruit infused fresh water at the bar and I loved the beehive dispenser so much that I ordered one on Amazon (Tablecraft).
We chose the pretzel, mac & cheese with shrimp and the smash burger with the beyond patty. This was my first time trying a smash burger as most restaurants do not offer a vegetarian option and I was very impressed! The food was delicious!

Excellent food and a great place to sit down and hang out. Could use a bit more seating but everyone here is pretty friendly and the service is good, so it's not a big deal. Can't go wrong with just about anything on the menu but I tried one of their summer items (a peruvian steak thingy) and man was I blown away. Plan on coming back as often as I can when I'm in town.

You have to check this spot out at least once if you're in the valley. LOVE the food, drinks, location, space. The bartenders care about making good drinks, not once have I had a drink that I didn't love. The food is amazing, good sizes, comes out hot, etc. Inkwell also have fun events like trivia, karaoke, etc. Love going here for every occasion too. Again can't gush about this place enough.

This was my first time at Inkwell and I'm certain it will not be my last. I had a party of 5 and right from the start, Aaron was so helpful in making sure we had a comfortable place to sit as a member of my party has claustrophobia. We were seated out in their patio area and the entire place to ourselves to laugh and chat. The interior spaces are gorgeous and we all took turns walking in to the restrooms to see what quotes were on the wall (brainiacs unite!).

The food was amazing. We had the kale salad, fries, brie wheel and chicken wings. The cocktails we had were the de la Cruz, the inkwell spill and the old fashioned. The drinks were strong and delicious. They also didn't rush us out which I appreciate. Our server was awesome and Frank was also great.

This place is a gem.

Inkwell Tavern quickly has become my favorite spot in Burbank. From the themed atmosphere and drinks, to the delicious variety of food - this is the spot! My team and I came for an after work happy hour and it was the perfect location to host a larger group as well. The owner Aaron kicked it off perfectly through email to coordinate plans, and the GM Frank was absolutely wonderful upon arrival and throughout the night. Service was efficient and quick, and our team didn't want to leave! Already looking forward to the next happy hour, and hopefully pop in for a trivia night! Could not recommend this place more.

Attentive service. Lively atmosphere. Cute library-esque decór. Somewhat limited food menu. Good drinks!

We ordered the beef tallow fries, which were good, if maybe a tad too saucey on the garlic aioli, and the fries were a tad TOO crispy.

We also had the truffle infused burrata salad, which had more greens and cantaloupe than burrata. It was just HALF a burrata and we definitely did NOT taste any essence of truffle in it. Somewhat disappointing for $17 a plate.

The winning dish was the baked mac n cheese with garlic shrimp -- the shrimp was perfectly cooked and the mac was cheesy and tasty.

Had a Oaxacan Old Fashioned and a couple of drinks from the menu, all of which were solid. Fun place to come hang with friends or on a date.

The place has a really nice atmosphere and the table seating is great. The bar is clean and the space is accommodating. The service was extraordinary, yet odd to me. While we were greeted and given waters and explained the menu, the host asked us to go to the bar to order. To me, this was an awkward exchange, considering the attention we were given. It felt like I had a cheer leader all the way to the bar where I ordered and then high fives on the way back to my table, 10 feet away from said bar. I could imagine a possible scenario where the very present, and attentive host also just puts in your order for you. I guess I just like my old fashioned served with old fashioned service. Overall great experience, though.

This place is a true neighborhood gem. Inkwell Tavern checks ALL the boxes; the food, drinks, service and ambience are spot on. We tried the Beef Tallow Waffle fries, Wilted Brussel Sprouts Salad and Shappy's Philly Style Pretzel and truly loved them all.

The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the vibe and art on the walls made for something unique and very unexpected in Burbank. I think because I used to work in restaurants and the hospitality industry, I have an eye for those that are really doing it right on all levels, and Inkwell Tavern is. Try this place out, you will be very glad you did!

We had a birthday party here a couple months ago and the staff was so accommodating, making planning so easy. Our guests were all so complimentary of the food and drinks. This bar… let me tell you.. the staff; Jorge, Katie, Caitlyn, Eric, Cameron, Joey, Seth, are amazing. They are prompt, they are attentive, they CARE! You want a great experience and feel like you’re at hometown bar? Inkwell tavern has got you covered. The staff is amazing! The food is to die for and the cocktails?!!! Let me tell, are artisanal and satisfying. I’ve been here a gang of times and every time service, food and drinks have been on point. I have never been disappointed and if there has been anything wrong it’s been fixed immediately. If you haven’t tried inkwell tavern you need to come try it and be wowed by the experience!

I love Inkwell Tavern! The staff is so friendly and there is a warm and cozy ambience.

There is a cute little outdoor area in the back that I've dined at for Sunday Brunch and in the evening sometimes.

They have Trivia on Tuesdays, which is super fun, and Karaoke on Mondays.

The staff knows their stuff when it comes to drinks. They've custom made some for me and they're always good.

The clientele tends to be a mix of locals and entertainment industry people.

My favorite food there is their baked brie. Beautifully put together and excellent tasting.

There is always plenty of parking on the street if you can walk a block or so. Otherwise they have a valet on busy nights. Just pull out back.

I can’t say enough about this place. Inkwell Tavern has existed barely over a year and it’s already one of the best bars in Los Angeles. The food is better than most “high end” restaurants you’ll find, and the staff is always exceptional. From Katie, Kate, Eric, Frank, Chip, the owner Aaron and more, trust that you are in good hands. The special brunch menu on weekends is out of this world, but on any regular day you’ll be knocked out by their craft cocktails, smash burger, beef tallow fries, wings, etc. I could go on and on. Get to Inkwell if you haven’t already!!!

I ate there with a friend for the first time last night. The Smash Burger was beyond great. And the fries were thick, crispy on the outside and perfectly potato-y on the inside. The ambiance is great (I love the framed pics in the bathrooms)- it's like an americanized British pub. The service was also wonderful- the bartenders were quick with our drinks & always had a smile on their faces. I'll definitely be coming back- I can't wait to try brunch!

I love this place! I thought it was just a local hangout, but it’s so much more. The wine list is special without being pretentious. The spirits are upscale and plentiful. The place is open and spacious, great for sunsets! And the staff is on point! I feel like this bar was transplanted from some East Coast town, with its comfortable sophistication! Great place with a writer's inspired theme. The food was delicious! I had the Roasted Brie and the smash burger. They have craft cocktails and mocktails. Great vibe, bustling yet intimate. Definitely worth it!

Nothing wrong with food, great cocktails, service was fine if a little distracted. The main issue is this is the *loudest restaurant I've ever been in*. The reverb in here is insane. Had to yell the entire time to hear my friend sitting directly across from me. Went to the Blue Room to actually have a conversation after, a regular there said the previous business in the space had the same volume issue. So not really their fault. Otherwise, a lively atmosphere in the restaurant and good food!

Over whether us we were regulars at the establishment as well we got charged double by the owner and super unhappy he charged my friends card and mine also claimed to have comped certain items but still found on bill would absolutely not recommend this place very greedy business practices absolutely not a place to spend your hard earned money at period. I had my birthday there on Saturday night on the back patio and it was perfect. The staff could not be nicer or more attentive and the drinks and food are awesome. Food and bar are usually great, but their smash burger is absolutely terrible. I paid $16 for what was probably the worst burger I’ve had in my entire life. I was served a paper thin piece of chard crust on two smushed burnt pieces of bread. If I gave a toddler a griddle and some ground beef, they surely would have been able to produce something better than what I had to suffer through

Great restaurant in Burbank. Good food, great service. Smash burger was good, as were the wings and salads. We came on Tuesday night, which is trivia night, and it was packed. Ok for kids, too. Highly recommend!

I come here at least twice a week. I absolutely love it. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The food is outstanding. There are quiet nights and there are nights where it is jumping. They even do an amazing Sunday brunch menu. Something for everyone. Plus Monday and Tuesday are the best karaoke and trivia nights in town!

Loved this place! Just went for an after work drink to talk with some friends, just happened to find out it was karaoke night! Also the drinks were amazing and delicious! The staff are incredibly friendly and good at what they do. Also loved how they had mocktales so you can bring sober friends and have DDs who don't feel left out!

It's very cozy inside. Tables, booths and bar so a verify if seating. The cocktails were delicious. The food was great. Our group shared several dishes. My favorite were the beef tallow waffle fries, and the Mac and cheese. However I can say that salad, smash burger, salt and vinegar and buffalo rings are all to die for. I will definitely be going back.

I've gone a few times and I really like this place! It's a great neighborhood bar with really good value and everyone who works there is so nice. The cocktails are fun and tasty, and all the food I've tried has been awesome. The tallow fries, the smashed burger, and the wings always hit the spot, but my favorite is the skirt steak. I also love that they have mocktails!

Great cocktail bar! The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful (especially given their neighbor’s parking spot obsession - use the valet if available). We ordered several different gin cocktails and loved them all. The charcuterie board was also well done and hit the spot given we were hungry but not having dinner. Definitely a must visit and will be our regular spot when in the neighborhood. Great experience.

The Inkwell! Formerly, Chained Rabbit, but now with a wonderful literary twist and fresh menu.

It’s been open for around a month but I finally convinced the girlfriend to give it a go the other night - much to her unexpected delight, she heartily enjoyed the visit.

We bellied up to the bar and got to know some of the friendly and attentive staff - that night we met Eric, Shannon, and Makayla (sorry, no idea which way to go with the spelling, please don’t hate me).

The GF took a trip through the specialty drinks, and had positive reviews. I’m a rye whiskey-Old Fashioned kinda guy, and put the bartenders through their paces quite a few times - just to be sure they really nailed it, ya know.

Food? Yeah, they’ve got that, too. The kitchen was fast and the flavors favorable, though you can tell they are still settling in to some of the recipes. It all tasted good - we tried the Beef Tallow Fries, Mac-n-Cheese (best Mac in all of Burbank, I told them), and the Tomato Confit linguini (the GF wanted more tomatoes - she’s a tomato freak, but said for a completely plant-based option it had a lot of good flavors and was very enjoyable).

I highly recommend checking out this cozy, warm, fun joint. It’s right near the Trader Joe’s on Alameda and a block above the IKEA - reward yourself after a shopping trip with a great drink, lovely people, and a comfy atmosphere to kick back in.

Just had an amazing time! I'm a local and saw it just opened, so had to try it. The food was great, the drinks were amazing, and the decor was SO CUTE. Our server Caitlyn was amazing as well! Looking forward to going back very soon!

Really cool new writers style pub! Loved the atmosphere and the brews! I only had a chicken wing to eat, but it was delicious. I look forward to trying out some of their other dishes and beers.

Really excellent new place in Burbank. Great cocktails and amazing food...a little something for everyone. We really loved the atmosphere and service and it's so reasonable for what you get. Highly recommend. Oh and it was great that they had super cool and delicious Mocktails as well... perfect for my friend who is all Sober January!

What a great spot! The staff are all super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The drinks are perfectly made and very reasonable for the quality/quantity. We only had the burgers - but wow! Literally one of the best burgers my wife and I have ever eaten. Charming ambiance as well. Definitely worth a visit.
