Wow their menu is so big for their AYCE selection and we tried a little of everything from their appetizers, to carpaccio, to rolls, and sushi!

I love that they provided each of us with extra spicy mayo and eel sauce. Everything came out super fast, service was great, and I highly recommend going for lunch during the week to avoid the crowds.

There is a lot of free parking which was nice and easy. It’s a great casual spot for sushi and drinks and one of the best deals in the area!

First time going here and it was absolutely amazing! It was packed but the wait time was not even 7min to be seated. The Classic Salmon Roll, Jalapeno Poppers, Spicy Tuna Roll, California Roll and Garlic Edamame were delicious! If you're nearby definitely give this place a go!

Okay, I popped into this place just before I left LA to temporarily relocate to NYC. I had just seen “One Love” - which I highly recommend seeing - and decided to extend my self-date into dinner. O’ and what a tremendous treat it was!

For any future million-dollar trivia question, I love sushi like Kel loves orange soda - a special shoutout to those who understand the reference - okay? Suffice it to say, I was fully prepared to go the distance and indulge to my heart’s delight I’m worthy and deserving. But I digress.

First I had a HOT SAKE along with the APPETIZER SPECIAL: RED SNAPPER. Topped with Tobiko, Yuzu Citrus, Red Onion & Herb. The flavors blended so well and the slight tang of the yuzu citrus pleasantly complimented the bold taste of the red snapper. Then I had the OCTOPUS SALAD, which accidentally ended up being the Cucumber Salad topped with the Octopus. I didn’t mind at all because it all paired very well, the cucumber marinated in rice vinegar.

The big order was the OCTOPUS CHEF’S SPECIAL PLATE, which came with Sashimi, Sushi, a Spicy Tuna Hand Roll and Roe Bowl. It was SO DELICIOUS and SO FILLING, I really tried to finish it all. Alas, I had to bow out and humbly accept where I ended before total defeat. I didn’t even get to order desert! Next time…

Octopus has been a staple of mine for years. I absolutely love this restaurant and all of its newest additions. There was no wait time at all when we arrived. The servers quickly took our drink orders and they arrived no more than 5 mins. After we placed an order of six food items. It came out less than 25 mins. The servers made sure our waters were always refilled and checked in frequently to ask if we need anything else. Their service and food quality is amazing.

With that being said here are the rolls we ate that came out delicious: Rainbow roll, Oh yeah baby roll, Alaskan roll (must have), Red Dragon, Broiled mussels on half shell, and crispy squid legs. As someone who has came here for years. I noticed a change in portion size for the crispy squid legs. I definitely miss the generous amount that used to be given but nonetheless still delicious. So a lot has changed within the years but they have managed to keep the food quality the same if not better!

This has been my go-to for a while. The sushi is good and the staff are usually friendly. Went tonight and might not return after that. My mom got a steak bento box. The meat and rice were so dry that she couldn't eat it without choking. We couldn't get anyone's attention, and nobody came to check on us for the entire meal till it was time to bring the bill. When we told the waiter her food couldn't be eaten, he just looked at us blankly then walked away without saying anything. A waitress brought the check and I asked if anything was able to be done about my moms meal. She went to check with that male waiter and told us he "said no because there's nothing wrong with the food." I'd think it would be the chef asked, but I only saw her talking to the blank stare waiter. I really wish I'd thought to take a photo because it was so dry you'd think maybe it had been microwaved. Eventually, he reluctantly discounted the bento box. The waitress clearly felt bad and wanted to help so she gave my mom a free ice cream to-go which was nice. The sushi is good and worth it during happy hour. I'm so disappointed in how that was handled though that I don't think I'll go back there again and I usually go multiple times a month.

The best sushi restaurant in Burbank, the sushi is always very fresh and delicious. The rolls are great, their sashimi and nagiri are always fresh and tasty, the sushi chefs are skilled and the servers are very kind and friendly.

Great all you can eat, they also offer happy hour from 3-6 and reverse happy hour from 9-10/ closing.

Our favorite rolls are the sumo, mountain, and tiger. Their salmon, seared garlic tuna, and yellowtail nagiri are also our favorites and are delicious in their carpaccios too! Always consistent, this is our favorite restaurant and the people there are our new friends <3

We have been here multiple times, but today was by far the best experience. The food always comes out quick and Louis took great care of us. Best service I have received at a dine-in restaurant as long as I can remember. Came during happy hour and got a lot of food for a very reasonable price. Octopus is now my go to for sushi.

This has been a favorite spot for years. The service is always great, and the chefs clearly enjoy what they do. Sometimes little things like the salad can be off, but they quickly fix it, if you let them know. The sushi is always fresh.

Everything was amazing! Just last minute stopped but honestly one thing that killed it was they close at 9:00 p.m. but at 8:30 they are already putting bleach on the floor where customers as myself were sitting inside the restaurant. I was sitting and I can smell the bleach and that person is mopping the floor and that belief smell is very disrupting because I couldn't finish my food

Might be some of the best sushi we’ve had. We had the Vegas roll and it was amazing. We also got the bento box & the salad it came with was super good. I wasn’t a giant fan of the steak teriyaki or miso soup. Chicken teriyaki was better. If you going here definitely skip the bento box and get the sushi!

Once.a go to hang out. Food fresh and tasty, but since Covid the food inconsistent, and the continued lack of refinement of the slices of cut sushi and over fried squid have me long for the days of good, great masters of Japanese food; especially sushi..... Fresh sushi, sashimi and salads. Jennifer is an attentive and friendly server.
Prices are competitive and fair.
Parking structure is conveniently located and there is street parking on a Saturday at lunchtime.

I originally came to this restaurant because they had a location that I loved in downtown long beach. I unfortunately did not have the same experience here. June 2023:
Visiting Burbank for Father's Day weekend. Came here for dinner because my family likes the food.

Ordered the bento box with sashimi and salmon teriyaki. The bento box comes with a salad and a miso soup. There really is a lot of food in a bento box. There is a gyoza, fried chicken edamame 🫛, rice, cucumber salad. Really lots of food!

However, I wish that the food tasted good. Perhaps it was an off night. Here is a list of areas that need improvement:
1. Miso soup was lukewarm 😟.
2. Wife's tempura was pre-fried and as a result, wasn't crispy. Same problem with the fried chicken.
3. Edamame was not very flavorful. Could have used some salt 🧂.
4. My sashimi was not good. Fish didn't have any taste. The temperature of the fish was a bit warm too.
5. Service was inconsistent. We waited a long time to pay.

Again, my family likes this place but it just didn't meet my expectations. So the best I can rate this is "okay" which is 3 ⭐.

Very well priced and tasty sushi. We tried several items on the menu, including the yellowtail sashimi, Octopus Chef's Special, several different nigiri,, and green tea ice cream. Overall we were very pleased by the quality, service, and prices. Will happily go back again.

Sat at the sushi bar and didn't have to wait to be seated, which was nice since there was a wait for a table. Sushi was delicious and reasonably priced since we arrived for happy hour. Only problem was that we had to flag down waiters for service since it seemed we never got an official waiter for sitting at the sushi bar, not sure if that's normal but it wasn't too bad because they helped us when we asked. I haven't eaten here in a few years and the atmosphere was very nice and lively, love the huge TVs for sports and the lighting and layout makes the place look bigger than it is.

My family and I used to visit this establishment every chance we got. We celebrated every birthday and occasion here, so you can understand how disappointed we were when the manager was incredibly rude. We were there celebrating my cousins birthday and had little celebratory toys in the table such as tiny maracas. We made a little bit of noise for no more than 5 minutes while we sang happy birthday with them. The manager, comes over to us extremely rude and tell us to put them away and that we are disturbing other guests. It was a Tuesday night and they had minimal clients and the music was super loud as well. This was such a bad experience that we ended up leaving without eating all our food. It’s such a let down since we were regular clients. We had never met this “manager”, he had zero hospitality. Singing happy birthday in a restaurant while cheering and making noise has never been an issue, EVER. Sadly, we will never go back as we felt disrespected and discriminated against by the disgusting person who calls himself the manager. If you find yourself there make sure you don’t celebrate anything or make too much noise as the manager will complain to you and make you feel inferior.

Food is a hit or miss to be honest. Came here 3 weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Fish was great and fresh. Came back a week after that and we didn't like anything we previously ordered. Not sure why that was but it is what it is. Service was great though and always is. Can get busy at time but wait normally goes fast.

Sushi was good and solid selection. We did actually order it delivery, which is unlike us so cannot speak on the quality of cooked items, but even still they were good. Takoyaki did not have much actual tako, but the rest of the sushi was quite good. The campachi was a healthy portion as well. Plenty of variety and reasonable prices. 3.7/4 for delivery. Likely closer to 4 in person, but we didn't get the full experience!

This place has great service and the sushi is beyond great. I highly recommend the mountain roll. The quality of the sushi is very good. I had an explosion of flavors in my mouth while eating the rolls. Highly recommend this place.

Public parking is available. The wait to be seated was about ten minutes. The sushi was priced reasonably. The service was alright, nothing outstanding. The restrooms are clean. Overall, it was a nice dinner out.

This is the 2nd time going since they remodeled and thank God it was a much better experience. First off, my fiance and I aren't to happy with the new arrangements. They're previous layout was really good! Yes, they had it for a while buy the lighting was perfect plus the restaurant always appeared so clean and it did not look outdated! We loved the privacy of the previous interior look!

This time around we got a booth and our waitress was this really cool older woman. She was PERFECT! Her Sake recommendation was on point and the Sushi rolls were AMAZING!

Because of this last experience we will be coming back and will recommend others as well! Thank you Octopus for at least keeping some booth as people like us appreciate a more private setting.

I prefer the Encino location, the Burbank location felt rushed and fish didn't seem as fresh.

We had dinner at Octopus Japanese Restaurant on Saturday 5/28. We arrived at 545 pm, in time for happy hour. Our server was new but was kind and gave great service. The following was not his fault but the fault of the manager on duty who clearly doesn’t care about the guests experience. We put our order in which included 4 rolls; two for me and two for my partner. When I ordered I specified I wanted a deep fried roll and the waiter told me two to choose from. I stated I wanted one that was deep fried, not baked but completely deep fried. I also ordered one of my rolls without fish eggs. My partners rolls came out really fast and correct. When mine came out around 5 minutes later they both had fish eggs and the one that was supposed to be completely deep fried only had deep fried seaweed on top. They took that one back and said they could give me the completely deep fried roll but since it was now 606 pm I would have to pay the normal price and not happy hour. I don’t think this is fair because I ordered the original roll during happy hour and it was not my fault I received the wrong one. I was shocked the manager would rather lose a customer than take two dollars off the bill. Instead of paying the extra two dollars I just didn’t get the roll I wanted and left hungry and upset. I didn’t even mention the roll coming out with fish eggs on them because it wasn’t that big of a deal and I was scared they would charge me full price for the replacement. I just scraped them off. The manager should have just gave us the roll for happy hour price and we would have had a good experience even though they messed up. They didn’t even come tell me themselves they sent the brand new waiter to relay what the manager said. And again, the waiter was great, the reason we won’t be returning is the poor management.

Great atmosphere. Got in lunch before they got a rush. Ordered a bento box, a Mexican roll, banana tempura ice cream. A very tasty place!

My friend went there today and we’re asked to sign up for the wait list, as we noticed there were plenty tables available. Customer service was bad. These people are really rude! We waited for about 30 minutes, when the app said, 5-15 minutes. They were aware we had a movie to catch at 6:30pm and didn’t care to sit us down. We decided to walk across to Fujiya Sushi. Customer service was great! Food delicious, place super nice and waiters were awesome. Take that Octupus. Never coming back here!
