We have driven the 5 for years, how did we miss this. Great food and quick clean stop on our trip. The sandwich was great, served with an excellent sauce. I tried the salad with shredded meat, good alternative to a sandwich. We will look forward to stopping here again.

Terrible service, bad coffee, order sat in window for 5 plus minutes, then order was wrong. Pork chops were very thin and chewy. Then when mentioned all this at checkout they offered no compensation at all. On a good note, the burgers were great.

Fantastic accidental find. Great break from all the fast food franchises along the 5. Had an enjoyable dinner. My wife and I both ordered the brisket dinner and were both very pleased. The brisket was melt in your mouth good, moist and perfectly cooked. The BBQ sauce was great. I had the potato salad and it too didn't disappoint.
Steve was our server and was quick, helpful and friendly.
We will most certainly be back.

March 2023 we've been back a few times since the original post. We both had the brisket dinner. Juicy, tasty and as tender as it could be. Why we keep coming back.

November 2023 We did a southwest trip over the summer covering AZ, UT, CO, NM & NV. For some reason brisket was the typical meal. None on them came close to being on par with Willow Ranch Brisket. It keeps us coming back.

The Brisket was worth coming back for. Absolutely delicious, full of flavor, juices and so tender you can cut it with your fork. The service was great as well super friendly waiter and I didn’t have wait long at all to order or for the food or bill which was much appreciated. As Arnold says, I’ll be back! 5 stars for sure.

This a great little place in Button Willow. Right off of I-5 at the ButtonWillow exit. If you don't want fast food, this is the place. Had a tri tip sandwich with onion rings. Way better than the fast food down the block.

This restaurant was recommended by some locals (Bakersfield) who reported they had good BBQ. I got the two item platter with BBQ ribs and tri-tip. Both were good and came with a side (I got the potato salad - delicious), beans and a cornbread muffin. The BBQ sauce on top made the meal - just the right amount of heat with a touch of sweet.

After a long drive from Vegas, we found ourselves in Buttonwillow alongside Highway 5. Nestled behind the Chevron station, it was an easy pick versus all the other array of fast food chains. The menu offered many great options, but I zoned in on the Brisket Dinner. The beef was sweetly seasoned, smoked, tender, and juicy. To complement the flavors, I chose steamed vegetables as a side. Before dinner, I tried the clam chowder, which was very savory. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, so the wait time for our food was short. Camila provided excellent service with noticeable attention and follow-up.

Keep driving and don't stop with this place. This is going to be a harsh review. So I decided after three years of driving by to try this place and wow, what a disappointment. I ordered their famous "Plow Boy" and a couple of beef ribs to go to sample what they have. I could already feel disappointment when I was handed the bag and it felt like nothing was in the bag for $32 plus tip. I opened the container with the two beef ribs ($16!) and was met with the overpowering smell of burnt plastic (not from the container) and tried a little nibble of the meat and it tasted like chemicals and burnt plastic. Completely inedible. I also noted that there was virtually NO meat on the ribs and what little there was was burned to a crisp. Now the sandwich, I partially dissected half of it to taste the pastrami and brisket but couldn't find any brisket! What was there was completely underwhelming and nothing close to an enjoyable sandwich. The fries were cold and soggy. I called the store and spoke to a gentleman who was pleasant on the phone and listened to what I said about my meal and said they "would make it right" and remake my meal the next time I was there. He said he was making note of the offer. A few days later I stopped by and explained my situation to the one person working and she seemed perplexed at my story. Supposedly no evidence was found of my meal remake and the manager was 30 minutes late coming to work so several calls were made to find out what to do with my meal remake. 20 minutes later she got the approval to remake my meal and what did I get? The same awful sandwich with no brisket, no fries (what happened to my fries?), and two beef ribs devoid of any edible meat albeit not as plasticy tasting but still have an odd chemical flavor. I tried removing the meat from the bone and had about 2 ounces of meat (see pics) which would be $8 an ounce or $128 a pound!)m. The sandwich was no better with salty dry pastrami, salty bacon and no signs of brisket. It was awful. Between the food and the service on the second visit I'm pretty sure I will continue driving past this place.

This particular occasion I had the BBQ Chicken. The skin was crisp and the flesh moist and tender. The BBQ sauce was sweet and spicy and very tasty.
