TRADER JOE'S Calabasas location is large, well stocked, with fast checkout and gentle pricing. The chain has company owned stores in the US approaching 600; California about 200.

The chain's single most difficult problem is parking. Busy stores, small parking lots.

However, once you're in the store things move quickly. The selection is first quality with essentials, as well as, unique vegan, gluten free, and low salt products. Many of the store brands are sessional.

Shelves are constantly restocked, so there are friendly, knowledgeable people, on the floor to help you find what your looking for.

The cashiers, usually accompanied by baggers, gets you out of the store quickly. If you request, a bagger will move your order to the car.

STUFF:The best time to visit TJ's is early in the morning. Everything is ADA compatible.

Omg, take me back is all I can say. I absolutely need the peanut butter pretzels and honey pretzel sticks EVERY DAY.

I realise this is a normal convenience store for locals, but for me (from Wales) it was a highlight of my holiday! Thos PB pretz are something else.

Will visit when back in the US!

Situated across from the Calabasas Commons where the old Babies R Us used to be. It’s your typical Trader Joe’s- clean, nice selection of quality items with friendly and helpful staff.

Absolutely love this TJs. I travel work and it’s the perfect place to grab food every night. Prices are awesome, produce is always solid, and super easy to park. Never feels to crowded or overwhelmed like some other TJs. Also have never waited in line here. Everyone goes out their way to help you in anyway.

Very nice store! It has a lot of special stuff that are not to be found elsewhere, for example the Zhoung sauce, a “very spicy green herbal sauce with Yemen roots”, turns out as spicy as advertised, and goes super well with chicken breast. Yum.

The store is fine but the cashier was incompetent. I bought a few granola bars and wanted to use my card. Something was wrong with the card machine which was preventing it from swiping. It was literally cutting a huge groove into my card as I was sliding it through. The cashier gave me a "Scooby Doo" shrug and told me he'd look at it.... I was forced to use cash. I left agitated.

This is not my local TJs but when I find myself heading back from Ventura County, I like to shop here. Plenty of parking, separate entrance and exit, lots of open space. Easy to get around with a cart.

A huge shout-out to Erin and the store Manager! I went into this TJ and picked up a few of my favorite things. I was in the area on a Saturday and I had just left my office which was located nearby. After Erin rang up my items, I realized my wallet was not in my pocket. I said to hang on and ran out to my car, and to my dismay I could not find my wallet. So I went back into the store a little flustered and let Erin know that I could not make the purchase. She asked if I lived nearby and my answer was basically no, I live near Burbank, which is 25-miles away. She said no problem, and proceeded paid for my groceries with her Apple Pay. I told Erin I would return to pay the next day. Never in a billion years would I expect someone I did not know, have 101% trust in me.

I returned today (Sunday) to repay with an additional “thank you” gift, but Erin was out to lunch. I then chatted with the store manager, told him the story, and he advised me Erin is the type of person who would never accept the additional gift. He then surprised me and let me know the store would reimburse Erin directly, and therefore cover the cost of my groceries. I resisted, but he insisted.

With so much horrible news going on in the world these days, this whole experience renewed my faith in humanity. We need more "Erins" in this world! And TJ store Managers. :)

Trader Joe's as a chain is infamous for having a perilous parking lot-- this one (by comparison, at least) is the exception! I have never struggled to find parking at this location. In every other regard it keeps pace with other Trader Joe's.

I love trader joes but there are two extremely important problems. They over use single use plastics and their flowers are refrigerated. The flower issue is frustrating because they have good flowers but half way thru the day the flowers are starting to get alil iffy. But the single use plastic issue is huge. Its not for all fruits and veggies but a ton of them are wrapped in plastic that isnt present at other stores. I assume this is to keep food fresh and reduce food waste. But food waste while horrific is far less devastating than industrial scale single use plastic waste. Some of these packages will exist for several hundred to several thousand years before breaking down to a level that is still not biodegradable. Humanity will be either colonizing other galaxies or a fossils in earths expansive life before these plastics degrade. TJs isnt the worst offender but of grocery store produce, its not good.

I love most any Trader Joe's but this location is like a hidden gem. It's never as crowded as the Fallbrook store. Parking is also better in this parking lot. The staff is always friendly and helpful. And seasonal items don't seem to sell out as fast at this location.
