They charge an extra percentage for the kitchen help which I do not agree You want to raise the price of your food that's fine. I would rather give that extra percentage to my server.

Strange experience that ended much better.

So when we walked in we had reservations for an entire birthday. But the front seemed so confused as to where our table was how many people would be with us etc.

Eventually they figured it out after about 10-15 minutes ( Already a long time ) pretty annoying.

Once we sat down we waited again for quite some time for service. The good part was is that it took so long. We all had figured out what we wanted to order already.

The server was actually what made this dining experience a good one. Without him there wouldn't of been as much comedy and happiness as there was at our table. He did an amazing job! I will definitely update this review once I figure out who our server was so everyone knows who to pick haha.

We ordered quite a few things. However I will only write about the dish I chose and how it was.

TAGLIATELLE ALLA BOLOGNESE
Pasta was slightly overcooked.... But the bolognese sauce was on point.
Usually you get a bolognese with to much or to little meat. This was just right.
More on the sweeter side then bitter/acidic side. Had a good proper taste.

So why the 3 stars?

Well simple. Service from the start wasn't acceptable in a place like this.
Front staff needs to have better communication.
The food took about 40 minutes to come out. Seems a bit to long.

And well... the food is just ok. I wouldn't come back here for the bolognese that's for sure. It's just pretty regular but not bad either. If I do end up coming back here it wont be from my choosing and I'll try something different on the menu for another updated review.

Stopped here for a drink with a friend. The bill for two martinis was $39.86. I left a $5.00 tip because I figured it wasn’t the bartender’s fault. When I expressed my dismay he just shrugged. I won’t be back.

We had reservations and were quickly seated. We were brought menus, water and bread (no oil to dip it jn). We waited about 30 minutes with absolutely no acknowledgement from any of the wait staff. Meanwhile there was a yapping dog two tables over. We finally decided to order a couple of their pizzas to go, only because we had purchased a gift card and knew that we would never be coming back.

It’s just funny how two years in a row, their air conditioning is not working, people were sitting at the restaurant and fanning them selves. Their food is good, drinks are good, but it’s such a turn off when the restaurant owner is being cheap towards their customers and just simply trying to save money, their air conditioning is broken every summer, that’s just weird. This is not cool, other restaurants have their A/C blasting, come on it’s 2024, and embarrassing paying customers don’t deserve this, it’s like triple digits outside, it’s in the 102 and 103, get your A/C fixed please or get a new unit. NOT COOL

The food was absolutely delicious. I haven't had wild boar ragu in forever and was very happy to see it on the menu. It was great!

Plenty of seating, and they have a happy hour with good options.

I felt bad because it seemed that there was only one bartender who was also waiting on people outside as well - but he still was cheery and helpful. He recommended dessert and it was delicious!

We usually go there once a month to twice a month but But the experience of mother there was really bad. We had to wait every meal at least 20 minutes with a child of two years and a half the portion are so small. Waiting all the time was so bad and they had the door outside open. It was windy inside of the room. We had to keep all of us our jacket the server so much that was forgetting things that we have to stood up and go get it ourselves. Ask the manager That we didn’t get our drinks and the bread the manager didn’t even apologize after 35 minutes in the beginning and then we had to wait at least 20 minutes between me. It was not a pleasant day there the meals were so good before and the good portion today, the meals are not as good as it used to be in the portion is so small and the price went up. I’m very very very disappointed, but this place , I had an experience in February when the server was really really nice and the service was really good and as well the food at the end he told me it was my birthday and he asked me for dessert. I said no it’s my birthday and I will get my cake at home, waiting for me and bring me a piece of Tiramisu which I was surprised I was like oh nice of you thank you but at the end when we get home, we find out that he made a spay, but I didn’t ask for it at the end. I was like oh he offer us this because I didn’t want it actually I didn’t eat it. My daughter ate it And said what happened this never happened so I think everything has been changed. They’re not as good as they used to be the tables to each other, the outside was open and windy even if you don’t what you ask this place used to be one of the best and has been changed so much , so sad but at the end you pay your big bill with a bad service not a good meal as it used to be and a very sad atmosphere. I ate my meal in the seats and table and I didn’t and I had to quiet and pay and it was my mother day .

Went there for Mother's Day, later did not come up to us for at least 20 minutes. Once he took the order that's the last time we saw them until we called him for the check. If it wasn't for the bus boy who we kept flagging down it would happen a horrible experience. I understand they were busy but that is not the way to treat your customers. Maybe I'm asking too much for someone to come by and make sure the food is okay after it gets delivered to our table.

Sat at a table two days ago w a friend for happy hour. Awful experience. The service was absolutely atrocious!! Every single thing we asked for we had to for again three or four times. It was unbelievable. The lone waitress wasn't capable of remembering more than one thing at a time. Had to ask for spoons four times to eat with. Took literally 15 minutes to get a second glass of wine and an extra plate. We gave up trying to get a second glass of water. There was only one bartender for the entire restaurant and bar area. Totally unacceptable. Two customers..and me..had to get up and tell the manager how long we were waiting and that we wanted our drinks. And the waitress at one point went into the kitchen and remained there for almost 15 minutes..and then popped her head out without any food, and then went back into the kitchen for another 5 minutes. People were sitting around waiting and waiting. Awful experience. The food, albeit without water, wine or spoons, was excellent.

I normally don't write reciews but i want to to share my sheer disappointment. I wanted so badly to like this place because the staff is lovely. The girl at the front desk and our waitress were so sweet to our big family but the food is horrible. The best part was the warm bread. My $50 filet mignon came out cold with zero seasoning not even salt and pepper and no sauce; literally just the charred meat on a plate. I ordered a side of pasta because the filet was beyond underwhelming and for a whole $10 more I got the tiniest amount of pasta with marinara sauce that tasted canned. My husband got mushroom rissoto which the rice was undercooked and crunchy. I was baffled because the resturant is beautiful and it's in Calabasas which is a nice neighborhood but my family and I walked away hungry with a $300 bill. Not worth it at all.

The place is great and server was great but the price for four people with 3 pastas and one kid size pizza was $180 with 20% tip included with one appetizer. No alcohol only glass of water and sparkling water. I do get it this is in calabasas and its high end but while ago with same 4 people I paid way less. This prices do not justify for me to be going out here again. Very unfortunate how this high prices are out of control everywhere and people that respect who work in service industries will be out of their jobs because majority will not be going out no more. I know this is not only this location problem this is everywhere. But if you have deep pockets by all means enjoy the excellent pasta this place offers.

If you're looking for some seriously good eats, this place has got you covered. I've been here a bunch of times for lunch and dinner, and let me tell you, it never disappoints. The food is top-notch, and if there's one thing you've got to try, it's the truffle pizza. It's just awesome, and I can't get enough of it.

Everything on the menu is pretty great, honestly. The chefs here know what they're doing, and it shows. Plus, the way they serve up the food makes you feel like you're getting something special every time.

The restaurant itself has a really nice feel to it. It's the kind of spot you can chill in, but it's also nice enough to make dinner feel like a special night out. The folks working here are super nice, too, always making sure you're having a good time.

Oh, and sometimes, if you're here at the right time of year, you'll see duck families hanging out around the place. It's pretty cute and just adds to the cool vibe of the restaurant.

All in all, this is one of those places you'll want to come back to over and over. Whether you're a big foodie or just in the mood for a good meal, you've got to check it out. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

My kids and I just ate at Tuscanova in Calabasas a few days ago. All of us enjoyed the food and service very much. I must say that after reading some of the negative reviews I was a bit hesitant, but typical of my traveling experiences, I disagree with those reviews. Toscanova Calabasas is a beautiful Italian restaurant located in the heart of Calabasas. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere with plenty of natural light. The menu features classic Italian dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I had the pleasure of dining at Toscanova with my family recently, and we were all very impressed with the food and service.

We started our meal with the Bruschetta Toscana, which was a delicious combination of grilled bread, tomatoes, and basil. For our main course, I had the Linguini Frutti Di Mare, which was cooked perfectly and served with a flavorful sauce. My spouse had the Pappardelle Al Funghi, which she said was the best she's ever had.

The service at Toscanova was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He made sure that we had everything we needed and that our food was cooked to our liking.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Toscanova Calabasas. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect for a special occasion. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Italian dining experience.

Here are some of the things that I loved about Toscanova Calabasas:

- The food was delicious. The menu features classic Italian dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.

- The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He made sure that we had everything we needed and that our food was cooked to our liking.

- The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The restaurant has a cozy fireplace and plenty of natural light. It's the perfect place to enjoy a romantic dinner or a special occasion meal with friends and family.

If you're looking for a great Italian dining experience, I highly recommend Toscanova Calabasas. You won't be disappointed!

I am editing my previous 5 star to 2 . For over 10 years I’ve been enjoying this great calabasas gathering restaurant. Weekly I invited my volleyball team members here as well as family gathering and I always loved it . Specially with wonderful staffs and Bartenders. But in the last 2 or 3 months lots of things have changed. Last week I ordered 2 glasses of beers and 2 Pizza . I asked the Waiter, instead of Ham on one of the Pizza if he can changed it to mushrooms ? And the other one instead of ham just double the cheese. He said yes . Later I asked if they have some jalapeños , he said yes and he brought me like 5 thin slices . At the end I asked for bill , he brought me a device and the bill was $106.20 , I used my card and applied %20 tip . He asked me if I want a receipt, I said yes . At first he acted like It takes a few minutes to get the receipt, and If I am sure that I want to wait??!!! This raised the red flag and I said Yes , I will wait . In 2 minutes he brought the print and quickly left us .
This was the detail :
2 Pizzas: $56.00
Adding Mushrooms: $8.95
Adding Cheese; $8.95
2 Andersons : $26.00
Jalapeños: $6.00
+ Tax
Tip
Well , similar situations happened with my volleyball team members gathering.
They charged us $23.00 per shut of McAllan 12 which normally is only $13.00 ,
Make it short , I can easily say in the last 3 months I and my friends went there at least 6 times . They over charged us on every thing. I write this here and hoping the management will read it.
Please don’t take our favorite place from us . As we need your Restaurant, You need us more . Thx

The service was the only thing that was good. The food I ordered was exceptionally bland. There was very little flavor in the food and in the dessert. While the restaurant looks pleasant enough, it was as loud as a cafeteria and the TV's in the bar area seemed inappropriate since it was in an open area that was practically part of the restaurant. I found this place overpriced for what they served, and upscale it is definitely not. Will not be coming back.

My company had our Christmas party here and honestly it was an awesome experience. We did a small plates tasting deal and had the Caprese Salad, Gnocchi Pesto, fried calamari and zucchini (fried perfectly tender), the oizze funghi (if you like mushrooms I highly recommend it), the Risotto Asparage E Scampi (probably the best dish we had), the filet with asparagus (perfectly cooked), the tiramisu and panacotta, so basically a large portion of the menu. I don't think there was a single complaint, in fact everyone was very complimentary and the cocktails were fantastic as well. The service was also great and the atmosphere was relaxed and more towards casual rather than fine dining, which we loved. I highly recommend it.

I booked a table for 8:45 pm. We arrived at 8:40 and a gentleman that works there told me outside not in a very nice way that they already closed. So I told him that I made a reservation so he said we’ll we are closed already. Didn’t even bothered to apologize for their mistake.

Ridiculously overpriced.
Questionable quality.
Below average service for this kind of place, the waiter was just taking order, very much like a drive through.
The apogee was the caprese salad: 4 very thin slices of hard & tasteless GMO tomato (yes 4), two small pieces of hard mozzarella and one (yes ONE) basil leaf to "decorate" the joke, zero seasoning and flavors (they expect you to use the olive oil, balsamic vinegar and S&P from the table to finish).. For $20+ 😂
Its probably better to go to Bristol farm next door, buy your own ingredients and do your own... Then I give my recipe to the "chef"

Very disappointing. I ordered seafood pasta which was very soggy, small portion and not tasty at all. I've eaten here before and feels like they've changed their chef.

Seriously mediocre food at an outrageous price. If you want food that's an empty husk of the Tuscan cuisine it imitates at 5 times what you'd pay there, this is the place to go. They don't even get the espresso right. The food at Presto Pasta is better

Food was mediocre. Eggplant was burned. Server didn't know what ingredients were in a salad.

Reservations on the weekend don't mean a whole lot as you're still queued against everyone else who also had a reservation around the same time. It just means no walk-ins can take your spot. This created a backlog of people waiting to be seated despite having a reservation at a specific time, including my group.

Food was delicious and well portioned, highly recommend the apple pie dessert.

This is a first and last time coming here. I am here for over an hour and no food yet. After 45 minutes I had to speak with the manager because our waiter never showed up. Manager took the the order but the food hasn’t arrived yet. I am still sitting here waiting for food. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!

Fresh, summery breezy ambiance, highest quality ingredients but a little too light on tastiness.
Generous drink sizes at equally big prices. Thick, well cooked salmon and juicy plump artichokes but overly dry pizza crusts. The coffee was old tasting so I didn't ask for seconds. Comfy casual outside sitting as well. Multi generation families, wheelchair accessible. Clean bathrooms.

A beautifully inspiring Italian restaurant. I'm surprised it took me this long to discover it. The wild boar pasta is on par with my favorite in New York.

I cant believe that this beautiful location with a perfect pizza oven serves one of the worst pizzas I've ever tried. Awful!!
I told the waiter that we just ate few slices because we were hungry, and that was true. They never even bother to ask what was wrong, probably because many people have commented on the saggy tasteless pizza.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! vegetable risotto with disgusting frozen peas and carrots, tasteless beet goat cheese salad with canned beets, and to top it off the "veggie" risotto and mushroom pasta we're both so horrifically salty that we couldn't eat more than a couple bites of them. Charging these prices for this horrible parody of food should be a federal crime.. gross bathroom, gross smells, gross food.. If I could give this place zero stars I would

Visited for a work dinner and got the opportunity to dine in their private dining space. And definitely a classy spot, with a nice ambience. We had a preset menu, but it gave us a chance to try lights on the menu. The service was great as well as the wine selection. Each course was high quality and delicious! I would definitely return on my own dime. :)
