Porta Via Calabasas is a gem tucked away in the scenic city of Calabasas, known for its commitment to serving healthy, fresh, and flavorful Californian cuisine. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance invites you into a space that balances elegance with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It's an ideal spot for both casual lunches and special dinners.

The menu is a delightful exploration of contemporary California dining, with dishes that are both innovative and comforting.

Service at Porta Via Calabasas is noteworthy. Staff members are attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to make recommendations, ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience.

A standout feature is the outdoor seating area, which provides a serene dining environment, perfect for enjoying the California weather. It was shame that one the day we visited, it was cold and windy and we could take advantage of outdoor seating. This setting, combined with their impressive wine list and craft cocktails, makes it a go-to for both locals and visitors looking for a dining experience that highlights the best of California's culinary scene.

Porta Via Calabasas is a must-visit for those who appreciate fresh, high-quality ingredients, expertly crafted dishes, and an atmosphere that effortlessly combines sophistication with comfort. Whether you're there for a leisurely brunch, a business lunch, or a romantic dinner, it's a place that consistently impresses with its culinary delights and exceptional service.

Went on a very busy Saturday evening and had reservations. We didn't have to wait very long to be seated at a nice table. The waiter started by sharing his frustration with how busy they were. We had to wait quite a while for our second round of drinks. Other than that it was a nice experience and the food was very good.

It's really beautiful if you're on a date. The outside seating is lovely. It's fine dining-ish, but they don't really follow the rules. I was a party of 4, and they cleared 3 of my friend's plates as I was still eating!! Then proceeded to drop a dessert list. Rude.

Came for brunch, it’s a good option for calabasas! no line and food was good (not amazing but still an enjoyable brunch). I got the burrata and arancini.. I’d give both 3.5/5. The ambiance is nice so if you have a birthday or want just a nicer, more trendy atmosphere to the usual spots (marmalade, peddlers fork, blu jam), this is it.

I’m surprised how this nice restaurant could hire such an unprofessional manager. All the questions and requests by the customer ended up with a “no” answer.
The questions were as follows:
1) I asked if it was possible to reserve a birthday table for 10 people for brunch. He answered “yes”, however there he couldn’t guarantee it would be reserved for that day or not.
2) I asked if it would be possible to switch the two tables that were next to each other. This is a common practice in most restaurants. He answered “no”.
3) I asked to reserve both tables for the party of 10. However, he answered “no” because he decided that my 10 guests should fit on a table designed for 8 people. At that point I stopped
asking more questions because I realized there was no point to attend this place. If the manager doesn’t do anything to provide welcoming service for 10 people then all the funds spent to advertise this beautiful place are meaningless.
The picture attached shows the two tables mentioned in this review.

Let me start by saying that my husband and I go here regularly. It’s our favorite local hang-out in part because we like to arrive after the crowded dinner hour and sit at the bar. The staff are excellent, exceptionally attentive, and we have become fond of the bartender, Ryan, who has spent many evenings chatting with us from behind the bar. The food is a solid 4 stars, no major complaints but nothing to write home about. The decor is beautiful and the indoor/outdoor setup feels almost European. The convenient location and lovely staff are what keep us coming back, I would definitely recommend for a night out!

Ambiance like this is sparse in the valley so I think like people come here primary to get that feeling, rather than because of the food. The place is very beautiful, great patio area. The food itself isn't great, sadly. Very bland, menu is simple, but for the prices that shouldn't be the case. After I left I felt the food was too heavy even though I didn't eat that much. I've been here when they opened and just recently, both times same experience with the food.

We went there over the weekend. Food has gotten worse. The Mushroom soup had a very strange texture. The main dishes were decent but nothing special. Our waiter was not nice at all, I believe his name was Martine. He was robotic and not pleasant. Not once did he come by and check on us during the entire house and a half, only to bring the bill. While taking our order he got distracted by the table next to us and walked over to them to answer a question in the middle of our order taking and came back like 2 minutes later. No apology, just walked right back over, like that is normal. Probably wont come back for a while, maybe things will change and we will try again in 6 mo to a year.

I went today for lunch with my daughter for her birthday. It was such a pleasure experience. The outdoor sitting is beautiful, the food is DELICIOUS ! Lovely experience from beginning to end.

Okay this place LOOKS so nice so I had to try it , took my mother in law for her birthday dinner . MAN OH MAN 1 the waiters were super clumsy dropping utensils everywhere the noise was very annoying happened so many times and dropped my MIL UTENSILS INFRONT OF HER ALMOST HIT HER ON THE HEAD !!! I was like what is going on ?! Then the PRICES !! I get inflation but this place is NOT WORTH IT the menu is very mediocre nothing special at all , I ordered lobster ravioli and instantly my stomach started hurting , I took my daughter to the bathroom and OMGEE!! It’s a unisex , I am very picky when it comes to restroom but she had to go so we go in there and it smelled like urine ! AND HAD NO TOILET SEAT COVERS !!!!! My worst nightmare!!! Bathroom was gross and I will definitely never step foot there AGAIN ! Lesson learned just because the place is in a CLASS A NEIGHBORHOOD DOES NOT MEAN ITS CLASS A top quality restaurant.

There filet mignon is $55 which I think it is not worth it for a place like this. Service was good. Drink prices were OK overall. I think they overcharge for the place they have and food quality they offer.

The pasta was slightly overcooked, but well presented & tasty. Though other tables were served bread, we had to ask in order to get it. The atmosphere is very nice in warm weather, but the weather was windy and cool when we were there. We sat inside, but with the doors open it may have been colder than sitting outside. The waiter.

We gathered at this restaurant to celebrate a great friends birthday. The food tasted good, however the service was very slow and disorganized. They charge $20 for cake cutting service. After the candles were blown, the cake was taken back to the kitchen to be plated. It took them a very long time to bring the cake out. By the time they brought the plates of cake out, we were done with our coffees and teas. Half of the cake had disappeared and when questioned, they had some stupid response. We found out that they had dropped the cake. The manager was very dishonest about the whole situation and instead of admitting to their mistake, she kept covering it up. Only when confronted she admitted that the cake was dropped by the server and they were only able to serve the top portion of the cake . She did not make any effort to rectify the situation or provide any solutions. no discounts , nothing was offered, even an apology . Very disappointed with the way the situation was handled. Also the bathrooms were
Very dirty and discusting. Dirty bathrooms can represent dirty kitchens.Extremely gross. Not sure if I will be going back there.

A great birthday night turns into disappointing and disgruntle night because of bad management! We were there for my cousin's birthday and we enjoyed our time and the food till we got to the desert part and having the restaurant mange the nice Birthday cake we had brought ourselves. Note that similar to cork fee they charged us $20 for handling the Cake which we had no issue until we found out they accidentally DROP the cake and they try to cover up the matter by bringing and serving us bits and pieces of the cake that looked noticeably wrong. The sad part was the the manager and the staff try to cover up the incident and lied to us about difficulties they had in cutting the cake and bunch of other lousy excuses until we finally confronted the manager and she finally decided to admit to it. After all said and done she still didn't do anything to compensate for their mishap, no sincere apologies, no curtesy discount and still charges us $20 for (mis)handling the cake.
Really disappointing and the managers lack of experience and dishonesty put a damper on our celebration and enjoyable night we could have and should have had! Simple apology and maybe a small curtesy discount would have gone a long way.
Customer service is not their priority. Managers are there mainly to manage and handle the situations when something goes wrong. Anyone can be a good manager when everything goes as planned. Disappointing night and unfortunate way to end a birthday event that could have easily been avoided.
Can't recommend the place, not worth the risk. Take your business elsewhere...

So I had a reservation at 7:45. We drive over 40 mins in the pouring rain to find out that they decided to close at 8pm and they texted us at 7:18pm while we were driving that they’re closing early, but didn’t mention what time. We missed the text and the call shortly thereafter, but they still did not indicate what time they were closing. We get there and they tell us the owner decided to close early because of the rain. Instead of trying to make the situation right for my party of 7, the manager says it’s last call and that’s it. Instead of figuring out a solution to the massive inconvenience, I was told to go to Toscanova instead. Shocked at the service and the the fact that they decide to close early, but don’t say what time. Knowing that our reservation was 15 minutes before closing, you’d think they would have said “we are closing at 8pm,” but no, they just said “early.” I always go to the Palisades location, which is fantastic. Calabasas is so poorly run, I will never step foot there or recommend it to anyone based on how little they care about customers. Do better.

Upon arriving to the restaurant, we were seated at a table for 2, that was entirely too small for our group. After the hostess was incredibly rude, we requested to speak to the manager. Cara, the manager, was so incredibly rude and unaccommodating we were blown away. We had a baby with us and she refused to move our table despite there being tables open. Food good, atmosphere cute, service wack as hell.

Last week I arrived 6:30 Ish didn’t have a reservation but they seated me out of the restaurant and gave okay service.

This week I came prepared, reservation was made at 10:30am for 8:30pm... by 9:30 we were still waiting in the freezing cold. They did serve drinks while we waited, there we complications for some reason reviving them .... by 9:35 I notified them I would look for a spot with in the Commons, sure enough found one I went back to inform them and pay the tab. They refused to help me and acknowledged the move. During our dinner came back to harass me for the unpaid bill lol wild right! No problem paying as I tried to settle up earlier and notify them of our whereabouts. Graciously paid right away but, was then met with the most foul energy after waiting out in the cold for over an hour... as if somehow I was in the wrong. Super unfortunate would not recommend until new management takes place. The couple in front of us had reservations for 8:15 and were not seated till 9:35 welp!!

We definitely felt that the coconut cake, from the scale of 1 to 5, is at a level 1. So, I would suggest that you eliminate the coconut cake. Put more coconut on it would not help. The alcohols were so expensive that I could not justify it. House Cab was $17 and some drink that my son had was $15. The atmosphere was great.

Came here for my daughter's birthday and we loved this place. Great staff, the hostess was very friendly and welcoming, the waiter had a great personality & recommended great dishes for us as it was our first time dining here. I ordered the Branzino, a white fish plate which was very delicious. My wife ordered the Orecchiette Primavera. My sister ordered the Parmigiano Crusted Halibut which to me was the best plate of all three. The sauce on the Halibut was perfection. We ordered my daughter the Chicken Bento Box with brown rice and vegetables. And for dessert a tiramisu.

My wife and I dined at this new restaurant last night, in their relaxed and beautiful setting, and enjoyed exceptional food and top notch service. The halibut was cooked perfectly, as was the pasta--and there was plenty of both. The beet salad was delicious, as were the guacamole and calamari appetizers. We also managed to stuff down some chocolate cake and the brownie and found them to be exceptional. Porta Via has a great energy, and the manager Emma is welcoming and hands-on. Our server Rita did an exceptional job. The restaurant also staffs up well for the busy crowds so everyone there seemed to be enjoying plenty of attentive service. Looking forward to returning soon and trying the filet mignon and brick chicken.
