For over 35 years Vallarta Supermarkets has been a member of local communities providing high-quality grocery products, meats, produce, bakery, floral and more with a clean and a pleasant shopping ambiance. Here you'll find just about anything you're craving, locally or from around the world.
Great store, big open isles, easy to navigate. Has a huge meat and fish department, as well as large deli, bakery, and other mexican stuff like agua fresca, and fresh tortillas and tamales.
Produce was well organized and fresh. They have self checkout and stations where you can pre weigh your produce and get stickers to make checkout faster.
Friendly staff, and lots of checkers. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

“I went to the store with my elderly mother, who is 74 years old. She asked a quick question, but we ended up waiting for 25 minutes. How long could it possibly take? The woman behind the counter was very rude to her, saying that she had a Uber order and didn’t know how long it would take to make two tacos. I ended up canceling the order. I did ask for the manager and made a complaint, hoping he would address this with her and encourage her to be more professional and compassionate, especially toward older customers. It was unprofessional, mean, and rude—her response was completely unnecessary.”

It's a giant store full of Mexican imports and Latin American food. You can find almost anything you need for a Mexican recipe here no problem. Butcher, cheese, drinks, they have almost everything you can think of inside. Grab a quick bite or a smoothie. Definitely worth a trip to this specific one, as they have more than the rest of the chain stores.

We love the horchata from this market, we bought many times, usually we got it near the self checkout, they already packed it and keep it cold in the ice, but last time we went there, they were out of it, so we went to order at the drink counter, so only one guy was in front of me, and no one behind me,it was pretty quick until my turn, i told her i want a big bucket horchata, she looked at me, said” oh, I’m going to make veggie juice” i said ok cuz I thought someone might ordered before me and will go back and pick it up, so I didn’t say anything, so she was doing like a turtle, then finally she made one for us, and we told her no ice, then one more worker came back, I guess she went for a break, she was super nice, straight up to us, and took the order, and give us the receipt, and she about to make my drink, but the other girl was making it. It’s took forever, I bought a big bucket for i can drink couples times but she used a tiny spoon. She finished it, instead give it to me, she left it on the counter top inside her work area, and she went back to make more veggie juice, i was like where the f is my drink? It was late for my son bed time because he has to go to school, I said excuse me, where is my drink, instead handle it to me, she told the nice girl, “it’s on the counter top, give it to them”. Its took almost 35 minutes to get a drink with no lines, then i went home, the drink was horrible, taste like water, because she didn’t mix it up before she fill up our bucket. Just used spoon and get the water on top, she needs to be trained again, or my guess she has a fight with the other girl, that’s why she didn’t want to take our order because it’s not her position. 2 workers but one is 5 stars, one is zero star.

Please check/smell the meat you’re buying before purchasing. Just came here because they had a special on Diesmillo so we bought $150 worth of it for a party. When we got home and were about to put it away we noticed a very nasty smell from the meat. My husband opened all 3 bags and they all smelled rotten. We immediately drove back to the store for a refund. The manager smelled the meat and agreed with us that it smelled bad but that was it. Never shopping at Vallarta again.

The chicken tamales are the worst tamales I have ever had. They charge $25 for half a dozen. Shocking and ridiculous. NOT WORTH IT. They fall apart and are filled with bad ingredients that made my blood pressure hike to its peak!

I bought ceviche for my children, it was bad, the fish was spoiled. Two weeks ago I bought tamales and they were hard, they keep them hot and the dough becomes hard like plastic and the cheese turns dark, they taste like plastic, the bolillos were good before, now they put a lot of baking powder in them and they are just puffed up, the fruit was good, now they freeze it, so when you buy the fruit it looks good and the next day it is defrosted it turns black and watery. The service is getting worse and worse, they have selfcheck to save the salary of the cashiers and They have almost no open tills, the service in all of Vallarta is going from bad to worse, apparently they only care about profits and the quality has gone down a lot, its time to go to the super king in Northridge or the supermarket in Panorama City, its time to drive more far away but the quality and prices are much much better

Today I went to this vallarta and bought bread and to eat it tasted strange and when I checked the bread it was smeared everywhere. Its not the first time that it happens to me that my husband always doesnt get my seafood, meat and stinky chicken. We have bought pork rinds and they are stale, watermelons. I reached the limit that we are no longer going to buy here.

Be careful the Loss prevention person in the afternoon does not have any training. He will try to grab you with out seeing if you took anything. I went to use the atm inside and when I came out the security guard and loss prevention started to grab me and try to take my bag from under my sweatshirt. Definitely an unprofessional loss prevention team. I hope Vallarta has good lawyers

Probably she is not willing work Sundays with a smile except if the manager ask to help out.

Honestly. I cant believe I am as disappointed as I am. I ordered a simple custom cake for my sisters birthday. Knowing that these cake decorators would have experience. I guess not. Im no confectionery artist but I know at least to not use gel creme for the design since I know it would melt once its on the cake. Should have used butter creme. They made a mistake on drawing a star which is clearly shown on the 4th photo. And didnt even bother to fix it. I know now not to come back here for any birthday or custom cakes now. (What I asked for is on the first photo vs. What I got)

The prepared food section at Vallarta Supermarkets is one of the best. I often drop by any of the Vallarta locations to pick up some Posole, Menudo, Tamales, and this trip I treated myself to the Beef Stew combo. This was a very generous helping of Beef Stew, Refried Beans, Rice, and your choice of Tortillas. If youve read any of my other reviews, you know that I love meals that are big enough to eat in two seatings. In other occasions Ive bought Flan, Rice Pudding, and Panes Dulces, all delicious and fresh.

Actually I should score it -5 specially the person in the self check out today at 7am 11/21, I asked for help with produce and he said he was there just to supervise. No register was open so I am expected to check out my own stuff. In my opinion, customer asking for help is an assurance of work for me not otherwise. He was just chatting with another employee. Way to go.

A tub of ice cream is displayed as nearly 10 dollars with price reduction tagged to it... its not reduced price when I just saw a similar tub for 5 dollars down the street at different store. They want 13 dollars for a gallon of organic milk... you can get organic milk for $6.5 down the street! DONT SAY PRICE IS REDUCED WHEN YOU ALREADY DOUBLED THE PRICE!!!
