The service here was top-tier. Everyone is super friendly and it looks like a fun work environment because everyone actually looked happy 😂 we reserved a table outside for our +1 pup that was with us and when we arrived they had a water bowl and a dog menu for him- such a cute touch!
The food was amazing- a pastrami sandwich for me, the carnitas egg Benedict for my boyfriend and the beef and egg bowl for the pups, with a side of peanut butter of course! The food arrived FAST. Under 10 minutes to receive it- it was hot, great portions, fresh and amazing flavor!
The michelada mix was good too- something I have found is hard to come by when eating out. The boyfriend had the Irish coffee which he also enjoyed.
Overall great experience. It was a bit pricey at $90 for our meals, the 2 drinks and tip included but you definitely get what you pay for! 10/10 would recommend. Thank you VR!

Whenever I'm in another city, I see to it that i try local restaurants, not national chains. Violet Rooster was so worth it. I asked the servers what's their best-sellers are or what they recommend. I had the hogfather, and oh boy, i was highly satisfied. Will definitely go back to Violet Rooster when in the Chino Hills-Ontario area.👌 I enjoyed the vibrant decorations and the varied designs of the tabletops. It's a lively place, good, positive vibes.💚💜

A First time experience. We ate outside on a Saturday early afternoon. The food was delicious! I had the BAM (bacon, avacado, and mushrooms) Burger and upgraded my fries to the garlic parmesan version. A lot of garlic on those fries but I didn't mind it. We opted for outside seating because it would have been a longer wait for an inside table. None the less service was still amazing. Robbie tended to all our requests and any accommodations for our comfort. He was friendly and tentative. Over all the experience was a good one. I would highly recommend this place and I am looking forward to future visits.

The place is nice and interesting inside, but food is not worth the price. I was disappointed with food. My daughter’s hash brown was burnt and my potatoes were really hard. We a are a little bit and left. Service is pretty bad, nice guys but they take too long to come to your table. $60 for breakfast for my daughter and me. Just a “trendy” place 🫤

Everytime I come here I order something new because I enjoyed the previous plate I got.
The food is made fresh to order, plates are big, place is clean as soon as you walk in, staff is friendly & happy to see you.
The food, the food is delicious! Pumpkin pancakes, chicken fried steak, the loaded side potatoes (sooo good), eggs Benedict were chefs kiss, chilaquiles, sandwiches are stacked, mimosas were perfect...I can keep going but I'd rather keep going back.

Today’s update;

Always a delicious breakfast spot and a fabulous addition to Chino Hills.

We called ahead and I’m glad we did since there was over an hour wait and then we departed for our arrival just in time for our table to be ready. I highly recommend waiting at home, especially during the summer heat.

Last time; Great place to dine with yummy special breakfast items. Definitely worth waiting for..

We’re going back for brunch and I plan to order the pumpkin pancakes.

My wife and I typically go just the 2 of us, but today was our first time bringing the kids and they had a blast. Food was excellent and staff was great as always. We look forward to continuing eating here for years to come. Kid-friendliness: Atmosphere is kid friendly as well as having kid friendly menu options.

Everytime I come here I order something new because I enjoyed the previous plate I got. Our server was kayti M. she wasnt great. My wife and I were having a great morning excited to try this new spot food was decent atmosphere was good but her vibe and service was really off. To be honest I just got the impression that she didnt like to take care of hispanics she probably thought we were going to throw down $5 as a tip. Still left her 19% even though she didnt really check on us at all after I told her my wifes build a drink if we could get extra napkins she didnt even come to ask if everyone was okay did we need more napkins or a towel than an offer to wipe the table nothing. Dont think Ill be back just because of her I dont need service like that this was a time to shine when we said this was our first time here. I was asking my wife if she wanted a particular breakfast item and she just assumed thats what she wanted and brought it out and put the order in we just left it alone and kind of laughed about it but after everything was said and done horrible service and attitude wont be back.

We spent 10 minutes at our table outside before I went in to ask for a server. After another 5 minutes we finally got to order. The food arrived quickly but was subpar. We were given 2 napkins to share between 3 people and the server did not follow up with us during our meal at all nor did he even come outside. A problem since we were out of ketchup and couldnt ask for more. Will not be returning.

I continue to eat here & suggest this place to friends and family. I have tried multiple items on the menu & have not been disappointed. The portions are large, I am surprised I had unfinished food to take away. Nice place to eat and well worth the wait. Jan 29,2023 Cameron took out drink order, pitcher of Violets Secret, and Dakota came along to take our food order. Of course the food was brought out quickly and tasted fantastic. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed our food and time here today. Mar 12,2023 Had the Hogfather omelette, really tasty with avocado on top. Tried this one other time wrapped in a tortilla -- ask your server, it is basically a burrito with the full omelette inside. July 8,2023 Another day at our favorite place, today I had the Frittata & Fruit. My wife had the classic with Canadian Bacon. We each had a wonderful Mimosa - Violet Secret for her Mango Tango for me. This place does not disappoint. If you havent been, What are you waiting for? Food was good, although biscuit was dry and heavy/dense. I am sorry to report Service was disappointing! It took too long to get drinks ordered, then after food arrived server did not stop by to ask how things were, nor did anyone stop to offer refills. Then at 1:40/1:45 pm, server sat down at table behind us with other team members to eat lunch. We never received a bill and had to go to front desk to get bill. Server then showed up. All-in-all, for the price (which is understandably higher these days) the service was disappointing! Service can make or break the experience. In this case, it broke our chances of returning in the future.

Dined in on a Saturday morning. Had Chicos Chorizo Benedict. Superb! Sampled my husbands breakfast and that too was amazing! If I could pack the restaurant up and take it with me back home, I would. Staff was friendly. Service was fast. Highly recommend!

Our server Gabby was excellent both times we were in. We were visiting from Arizona and haven t had the customer service we experienced here. The food was amazing and I am celiac and everything was clearly marked. Thank you for the great experience. We will be back.

Jeez i hope every one can avoid this place by all means. The food is absolutely terrible. Service is bad too its so funny trying to watch people run around when palces of business actually get busy. I Mean I get it gets busy but it is not swamped here. This is when customer service becomes non existent. Bad food bad prices and slow employees who are all ready mentally checked out of the work place.

This Saturday morning my wife and I enjoyed a nice breakfast on the patio seating. The food and the service were excellent. My go to is the Hogfather omelette with the fruit bowl instead of potatoes. The fruit bowl had a nice assortment and not just melon like some other places.

Nice brunch place! Food is delicious, great service, cool design. Got the veggie omelette with fruit and breakfast potatoes -very tasty! A little pricey (average ~$20/person) but portions are a good size. Servers very friendly and helpful. They have indoor dining and a patio covered by umbrellas with a couple fans too.

The restaurant was great.. this is our third time there.. but today was different.. the staff was a little off.. a little rude when taking our name for the waiting list.. but I let it go until the food came.. quality has dropped significantly since we were here in January.. and here I am a little over 13 hours later physically sick from the food.. I got the banana pancakes with scrambled eggs and sausage.. eggs were cold.. sausage was not fully cooked and the pancakes were so overly hot it burned the top of my mouth.. I asked for new eggs and they made some fresh but didn t say anything about the rest.. I wish I had.. I wish I would have told them how bad it all was.. the pancakes were crumbling I couldn t get a bite on the fork.. they just seemed old and way overcooked.. man.. I really liked this place.. hubby and I were making it a tradition for special occasions.. but today was our last time there.. never again..

This place has great breakfast! Discovered it after a local car show came with a few friends and my family. Smaller place but service and food were great! I would highly recommend the chicken fried steak probably one of the best I have had in a long time. I almost forgot the photo and started diggin in it smelt so good.

Heard great things from friends about this place and visited it for breakfast. Had the Ultimate Bacon Benedict with a side of biscuits and gravy. The food was great. I asked for extra hollandaise to go with it. The only thing I was not a huge fan of was the biscuit. I prefer mine to be light and fluffy, and theirs are pretty dense.

I ordered the Best Bacon Benny with loaded potatoes, which was a fantastic twist on traditional eggs benedict. The bacon and mushrooms were delicious, and the loaded potatoes were phenomenal! Limited seating and good food lead to some fairly long wait times on the weekends, so it would be best to plan accordingly.

Food was great, as well as the service. That mocha coffee they have was delicious. The atmosphere is really cute too. This place probably gets really full during brunch rush hours but we were there at 8:00am so there was no wait to sit and food came out quick.

Delicious breakfast with a solid mix of classic american and southwestern dishes and some creative breakfast options too. Their green sauce chilliquilles was phenomenal. They have a cool atmosphere with bright colorful fun decor and very friendly/attentive staff. If I was a local I would 100% be a regular here. The Violet Rooster never disappoints. Make sure to put your name on the wait list before you get there because everyone else wants to eat there too. The service is always excellent, and the food... whatever you order is always perfect. Ive tried about half the menu and everything I have eaten is always delicious, and portions that are so large that you have to take some home. But thats only part of the experience, because the artwork and decorations add to an amazing atmosphere for dining.

Food is delicious and the service and atmosphere are great, here are some things I think could have been improved on this visit. Servers checking for refills, the last two times I have been here it is hard to get a hold of staff during the meal. Before is great, checking out is great. But sometimes clients need refills or salsa or other random things during the meal and I find it hard to get hold of someone.

I took my mom for her birthday to have breakfast and everything was great. The service was good but it could ve been better if the person that served us would ve acknowledged that it was my moms birth and at least say happy birthday cause we did sing happy birthday we did bring a cake in. He didn t even offer to bring small plates for the cake we had to ask. It was such an unfortunate experience. To start, we arrived and were seated quickly which was the highlight of our entire breakfast. Once seated, we waited for what seemed like quite a bit of time just for drinks. Could have been about 15 minutes. From that point, we ordered and it was downhill from here. We were absolutely ignored the entire time we were there, I got the waiters attention after we sat with empty water and a first round of drinks for almost the entire meal. He saw us and even walked over and before getting to the table, put his finger up as if for us to hold on, left for about 10 more minutes to assist other tables and eventually sent a different server to us. I am not exaggerating, we counted 3 different times he walked up to about 2 feet from our table, made a face like he forgot something and as we looked up to speak with him, he would turn away and assist other seated guests. The service was so bad that at the end of the meal, he came over and just put the check on the table and walked away without saying a word. The only time he spoke to us besides ordering our food was when he said he could close our tab at the table. We had the idea to ask him directly before leaving if there was an issue with our table that we werent aware of but ultimately thought that the service spoke volumes and it was beyond any conversation at that point. We politely just closed out our tab and left. This was our first AND last time at this location. Food was actually good and its so unfortunate that our poor service outweighed it all...

Terrible service. They didn t put our name down like they said they would, and we then waited 30 minutes. People started being seated ahead of us. instead of apologizing and correcting the error, they said it would be about 20-25 minutes. Will never go back.

100% recommend checking this place out! Came down to California for a mini vacay and the pics of this place definitely attracted my attention. The food & mimosas were delicious! The atmosphere is that uniqueness that I love most in restaurants/bars.

Our recent visit with 9 people was excellent. The seating situation kept us separated, but we expected that due to the locations size. We have been coming here since before VR was established and you had to really squeeze to fit in ;) and the quality has only increased and service is top notch. Today s breakfast was the best we have had to date; thank you! Sincerely the Neaves Clan. Vegetarian options: The veggie omelette is probably one of the best things on the menu. Dietary restrictions: VR always works to accommodate my soy and dairy allergies. Some dishes you can t make it work, but there is always and omelet and hash brown combo that works and tastes amazing!

A good place for breakfast and brunch. The food wasnt the best but its pretty good. I just had the regular breakfast: eggs, bacon, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. So out of what I ate, the only thing that makes a difference is the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are pretty big and filling. The gravy was ok, wished it had more sausage or flavoring as what stood out was the garnish on the gravy, not the gravy itself. Out of everything I would still recommend this place.

First time here and we loved it! Our group of four had a variety of breakfast items including banana nut pancakes, denver omelet, ham & eggs and eggs Benedict! All were outstanding! We will be back! Great food and great service!

To start with a positive, the food was excellent, the first bite made me hungrier for the next. Unfortunately the inattentive workers and the lack of order between the servers really drags the place down. My party had a front row seat to the misfortune of the fridge breaking down, and our unfortunate server having to fix and clean it by themselves. In the meantime no one took their place waiting on tables, so I was left to flag down waiters for 30 minutes, each one repeating the haunting phrase Let me just go find your waiter... I was only able to get my refill of water as the rest of my party was ready to go, but thankfully we almost paid a $130 bill for someone elses table giving me enough time to chug my water down as they went back for our real bill. I have to mention while I was flaging down waiters I stared at two waiters enjoying their time behind the counter sipping on drinks and laughing away. I understand that they might be on break, but I dont bother anyone... I wanted to eat just as much as they wanted to be left alone.

The food is decent, but the service was ok. For everything being average, they have a no outside drinks policy, there is a Starbucks next door and so me and my friend got one while we waited, we were told we had to throw it away before we could enter, seems a bit ridiculous its not like we arent going to buy their food there. It really wasnt worth the inconvenience.

Today s update; Always a delicious breakfast spot and a fabulous addition to Chino Hills. We called ahead and I m glad we did since there was over an hour wait and then we departed for our arrival just in time for our table to be ready. I highly recommend waiting at home, especially during the summer heat. Last time; Great place to dine with yummy special breakfast items. Definitely worth waiting for.. We re going back for brunch and I plan to order the pumpkin pancakes. Check it out ~ Chip loves all the attention too! Vegetarian options: Eggs Benedict with spinach, Veggie style is a nice vegetarian option. And substituting a veggie instead of a meat product is no problem here. Kid-friendliness: Kids are fun to watch and usually they never lie. My daughter likes the pumpkin pancakes and makes them at home when I have all the right ingredients.. How could you not notice

Food was 6/10, service was 2/10, otherwise horrible. Had to get up myself to get toast, since they forgot to bring it out, of the 30 minutes I was there eating, waiter only went once to see if I needed something, and this was after i went to get my own toast. To top it off, he brings me a bill for $60+ it had my chicken and eggs, and 2 other items. I asked him about it, and all he said was oh, gave you the wrong bill. This place can be better, but needs better staff.

Food was pretty good for the price. Service was really slow. Friendly, but slow. It took 20 minutes before our order was taken and another 30 minutes before part of our food arrived. Again, staff was friendly just terribly slow.

Violet Rooster... If youre into nostalgia, decor, eclectic artwork, and tons of Freda Kahlo(ish) overtones then this is your spot. Expect a long wait to be seated followed by a side of wait to order. That said, perhaps it is luck of the draw, so take it with a grain of salt. Cant dispute the esthetic and visual appeal of the food...looks amazing, but the proof is always in the pudding. As for me, I was underwhelmed. Perhaps it just wasnt my pallete but savory good tasting food is easy to identify...I was lost in the sauce (pun intended). I ordered a country fried steak which, as any enthusiast knows, is ALL about the gravy. Mine was M.IA. and no, not the song. Coffee was ok. Mug was cool. The star of the show (for me) were the pancakes...SUPER good!! Price point was a bit over board relative to food taste and service. All in all, I would not visit again, but that is me...perhaps you may love it. On that premise, give it a try and you be the judge... Enjoy!

I had the Bomb breakfast burrito as well as the French toast. The bomb breakfast burrito was very good it came with a side of potatoes. The burrito itself was a sold 7.5/10 good flavor recommend putting a little salsa on it. The potatoes were a 5/10 not much flavor but had a very nice crunch to it (probably better to get Hash browns). The French toast on the other hand was a little disappointing, it looked beautiful but it wasn t that good. I would give it a 6/10. Overall the experience was very good and I enjoyed it and I would recommend checking it out if you haven t.

Has been a great breakfast location for Chino hills. Added variety to the existing chains of breakfast diners in both decor and taste. Food was great. Service was attentive. Tip: Their omelette is on a bit more charred side so ask for it to be cooked lightly or less burnt.
