Pizzaioli maintains the highest standards in quality and freshness for all ingredients including their USDA Prime Certified Mid-Western Beef that has been aged 28 days for enhanced flavor and tenderness.
Update: after years of dining here, I’ve finally tried its pizza. I ordered the sausage pizza at $22 for a small one and it was excellent. It had medium thickness crust with plenty of cheese and garlic in the sauce. Fresh meat sausage wasn’t salty like other places. Definitely would recommend it. I also tried chicken Marsala for the first time and it was pretty good as well.
This has been one of our favorite Italian eateries in Southern California; though we haven’t been here for a while due to all the new restaurants opening up here in Chino Hills/Chino area. The steak was excellent and true to medium rare with mash potatoes, crispy onions and spinach topped with mushroom sauce. The quality of the meat was very good. The pasta was excellent as in the past. For desert, we had the chocolate ganache with ice cream, which was a molten lava cake. It was very good, but very sweet. The service was wonderful and friendly. This is actually a rare find in a shopping plaza. It’s definitely worth checking it out.

The evening ambiance (7pm) on a Saturday is fun and cozy. It seems to be a very popular restaurant because there weren't many tables available (we had a reservation). Inside (on my way to the restroom), it was quite loud. I'd recommend sitting outside, we did. Their outdoor heating lamps were very efficient (in the cold weather). They kept us comfortable. Our waiter, Emmanuel, was very kind and attentive. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! Appetizers were yummy. We had the shrimp and scallops in a scrumptious butter sauce. The bread was soft, and the bruschcetta was perfect. All of the food was served super hot and tasted authentically Italian. We had one of their specials that night it was a seafood pasta, so creamy and delicious. We also had clams, chicken parmigiana, and an arugula salad with walnuts, cheese, and cranberries. For dessert, we had Tiramisu. I can't wait to go back and try different things on the menu.

Drove 40 miles to try something new. We heard good things about this place. We had reservations but only had outside. Probably due to the holidays.
Anyhow it is a smaller place within a shopping area. Owner and family work on site and that is something we like.
We were sited quickly but had to wait a while for someone to get a drink order. After the drink order it took about 10+ minutes for them to arrive. When taking the drink order, while waiting for the drinks and when drinks were delivered, dinner specials were not announced. Another 5+ minutes when arriving to take orders the specials were announced. It had been so long it was time to order new drinks along with our order.
Salads came quickly then our food soon there after. It was hat and presented well. After food was delivered we had to wait a while to see someone to ask for red pepper and parmigiana. We got it about half way through our meal along with our second drink.
Overall the inside ambience is very nice. Drinks were good once served but very slow. Food was hot, presented well and flavor was pretty good. We were a party of 4. We each had 2 drinks, a house salad and a pasta entree and the total bill was just over $300. My 4 instead of 5 rating is due to slow bar, long times between checking with us outside and a little high price for what ordered.
We will give it a try again in the future and when we do we will update accordingly. We are hoping for a better experience next time.

My husband was so excited to take me here and it was honestly a frustrating experience. The fresh baked bread they touted came to us refrigerator cold and with nothing to put on it like butter or oil. And the place was plenty busy so it wasn't like the bread had been sitting awhile.
The big issue was that our waitress had two big parties she was dealing with which means she took our order... And then we never saw her again for 45 minutes. We finally asked someone else to check on our food and our waitress came out with plates that had obviously been warming. She also seemed upset that we had said something, but we had tried to get her attention several times and she and all the other employees kept walking past us and avoiding us.
When we did finally get our food, it was legit delicious. And she did check on us at that point and get my dessert that I had ordered going. However, she didnt ask if I wanted more wine, we struggled to get my hubs iced tea refilled, and it was just not the best experience.

The recipes for the ciopinno seem to change from time to time. Most recently the heat was cut back some in the base which was great. The base was thicker and spiced differently, more like a tomato basil, but was tasty with very good portion of the seafood fixings. The pizzas are always good and make a great appetizer. We had the stuffed figs. Only complaint was we needed more. The pastas were great. The seafood and chicken dishes were great. The "spumoni bomb" dessert is highly recommended. Service all around was very good. I will note that vintages on the wine menu is not noted and scaled back. Prices have creeped up which has plagued so many businesses recently and certainly was noted by our dinner party which is there frequently. For a Saturday evening the dining area was rather sparcely attended likely due to increases based on what we se ordered around us.

Server Paris is a disgrace to this restaurant and the respect she showed my mother on her birthday it disgusting! They didn’t give us the most expensive item on the menu and when we called to complain she hung up on my mother. We have known the owner for over a decade and I can’t believe we were treated this way by Paris. I will be in to speak to Tom asap!

ROBBED VIA SALAD....
I live in Los Angeles, but sometimes work in Chino. I needed a quick lunch and couldn't find anything healthy nearby, so I decided to give this place a chance for a salad or a sandwich. It took 30 minutes to receive a salad (excuse was cooking chicken takes 20 to 30 minutes, something I do in eight minutes at home). Ordered Genovese salad, add chicken. I handed my card to the server right away and asked for a box because I had limited time. When he came back with a $30 tab for me, I was flabbergasted. I pay $18 for the best chopped salad around in LA (that already comes with chicken) and now I am at $36 with tip for a very low cost and simple salad. IN CHINO! The experience left me feeling robbed and taken advantage of. How about that for a first experience?
Charged me a Michelin star price, waited 30 minutes for a (SALAD!) handful of lettuce, chewy chicken, and then argue with the customer when they call to tell you what an awful first experience they had.
The customer should come first, especially when it's someone's first visit. I worked in restaurants for 17 years and I never argued with a client, always listened, and always brought a manager when someone had an issue or complaint. Their manager was extremely defensive about the pricing when I called, again, off-putting. It felt like she wanted to do everything in her power to make me wrong and make that salad worth $30.
You cannot justify what I was charged for and what was actually received, no matter what it was not worth $30. Their handful of lettuce was worth about $1 four olives, one slice of salami, 5 pepperoncini, shredded mozzarella from a plastic bag, one chicken breast. Maybe a $12-15 salad and maybe $5 or $6 for a side of chicken. I don't think I've ever paid $30 for a salad in my life before today, and if I did, it was something made from scratch with a lot of labor, not a typical salad I can make at home in under 10 minutes (that would be 1,000 better than this salad I was presented with). When I worked in restaurants, it was common that the manager would apologize to a table for food taking over 20 minutes. After 30 minutes the food was usually comped. I received yet another defensive argument from the manager that "yes. it was a busy morning". Let me add to this post that I was the ONLY table sitting there when I was waiting for my food. The last three tables cleared out as I placed, my order.
I know times are hard and food has gone up for restaurants, and all of us, but this is absolute thievery, and I feel taken advantage of. You will never have my business again. The way you are running your business is not friendly, or inviting. Glad I never have to go back to this place.
(to the owner who wrote back to me, I cannot respond to yours, so here is my response. Thank you for writing back. Your staff was not the issue. In fact, the servers were fantastic, empathetic and offered dessert. It seems the issue is you putting pressure on your team to validate pricing. Again, there's no justification for charging someone $30 for a handful of lettuce with a thin piece of chewy chicken and then having to tip 20% on that, because servers were nice. It was very painful and it was nothing special, I'm sorry. The pricing is not justifiable. I'm a foodie and very well traveled. Your pricing is way off, especially for your area!)

First off the place is dated and the tables and chairs are cheap and uncomfortable. It was a cool evening, but they had the AC blasting and everyone was freezing even the people at the bar who overheard me ask if they could turn down the AC. The server was completely ignorant about the food and wine. When asked what reds they have by the glass she said Cabernet and Italian, when asked what Italian she said red and sweet like chocolate??? I went with the Cab. My wife ordered the Ribeye Steak at nearly $60, which turned out to be a $10 steak you could have gotten at Albertsons. She ordered medium and the steak came out rare, when sent back, half was medium rare and the other have well done. All the other dishes were extremely basic, spaghetti factory level, but ridiculously overpriced. This place is a total rip off, bad service and bad food. Horrible experience.

The best family owned local Italian restaurant in the IE with an outside pet friendly patio and many menu favorites! I just love the bruschetta tomatoes with fresh soft Italian bread, calamari, ensalada mista and the wedge salad, eggplant parm, cioppino and the house special Vino Bianco, (prefer with angel hair pasta vs fettuccini) which is the best seafood mix of fish and shellfish in the most delicious jalapeno cream sauce that is amazing! The staff is always warm and friendly like a neighborhood Italian restaurant should be, a little bit of Italy (and NY) in Chino! Thanks Pizzaoli, a local favorite since 1995!

Not sure if the chef had an off night or their recipe just isn't good. I expected the bread to be toasted and warm, but they just give you regular cut bread it to you in a bag. The bread was tasty though. Ladies were friendly, though didn't give me a receipt or ask if I wanted one.

I’ve been going here for years. I noticed the portions are getting smaller & the prices larger. They charged $2 for onions & $2 for olives bringing the price of a simple wedge salad with no meat to $19! They failed to say there would be an extra charge for either. Food is decent but too pricey for what you get.

My brother Jimmy turned me on to this place. Easily the best Italian food in the area. The wine selection is so good it's pretty much a wine bar too. Family owned and run. Wish they had a lunch menu with smaller portions / smaller prices. Their lunches would be packed if they did that. But regardless, the value is there. Just be careful of eating too much of the house bread before your meal. You won't be able to stop, and I can't blame you.

Food was not ok. I ate less than 1/3 of it and ate something else for dinner at home as it was just not enjoyable. Cost is not an issue at all if the food is great, but the price doesn’t correlate for the food and quality.
Blandish pasta and cheese with no protein for $25? I was hoping for better. Dinner for 2 (no drinks included in this) cost a little more than $100. Sadly, I would have enjoyed Fazoli’s 10x more than this.
We also ordered the linguine with meatballs, sorry I don’t want to be rude but it reminded me of the canned spaghetti-o’s flavor.
We also had to pay separately for the bread so I ordered the garlic cheese bread. There was no garlic nor cheese! Plain pieces of bread for $8
Lastly, the calamari was questionable. Didn’t taste right. There was no flavor and the breading was soggy.
Waste of money and calories. I can’t say I’ll ever return nor recommend the establishment to others.

I had a wonderful time at this restaurant, the waitstaff was beyond amazing and the food phenomenal!
Teddy was incredible with the service, honestly he is a big part of what makes this place so amazing and charming.
One downfall though, the people sitting next to us outside brought a dog. It was not a service dog, it did not have the outfit or service dog behavior. It was incredibly obnoxious to have it barking constantly over our meal, we came out for a relaxing and calm night out. Thankfully the service made up for it! Not sure why they would allow people to bring their pets (non service dogs) to annoy the other tables, blew my mind it was tolerated for over an hour that we were there. We will definitely be back but hoping we do not run into entitled people bringing their dogs they are able to leave at home.

I went last night with my husband and 3 year old for the first time we really wanted to try this place we got there at 7:45 for dinner they didn't let us in because they closed at 8:30 in a Saturday night, my complaint is why they don't update their info online they advertise wrong information 😑 that really messed up our plans we ending having dinner somewhere else, but that is not right they need to pay more attention updating correct information to customers.

Went all the way from West Covina to Chino hills for this restaurant. Saw on Google review that someone really liked the ciopinno. Went at around 5.30. Service is okay. Just don't understand why they're charging extra for bread. The ciopinno is decent. It contains salmon, crab claws, crawfish, clams, squid and scallops. They really put a decent amount of ingredients in the soup. My opinion is that the soup is on the salty end and a bit fishy because of the salmon. Overall good experience. However, my favourite ciopinno is still served in Heroic Italian at Santa Monica.

Pizzaioli’s never fails to deliver superior food on each and every occasion. I have been a customer and fan for many years. I am sad to say I no longer reside in So Cal, so when I’m there, I have to get my fix. From the superior wine, to the excellent salads, onto the delectable entree’s, you’re taste buds won’t soon forget the experience. I think it’s Chino’s best kept secret. I’ll be back.

My wife and I had a great experience at Pizzaioli. The service and the food were both first rate. I definitely recommend it!

Food rivals any restaurant in Beverly Hills.
Brought our own wine, ( they have a large, excellent selection of wine however) really good.
