This is our go-to place for authentic Taiwanese food at the cafe, and the bakery has a good selection of baked goods to satisfy your sweet tooth. They regularly sell a variety of gram-n-go bento boxes as well!

Pan-fried buns are steamed buns that are fried, not real pan-fried buns. The meat and egg toast tasted like it was leftover from yesterday. The meat and eggs were cold, which was very unpalatable. The radish cake with green onions and eggs was okay, but the fried eggs were too thin and the radish cake was cut too thick. The rice balls are the only thing that tastes good.

This is a very typical Taiwanese breakfast and lunch menu. They have the best outside Taipei Taiwan. All their other food favors are very close to Taiwanese cuisine. Their bakery selection are vast. I love the lunch box. They have a large selection of lunch boxes. It tastes really good and the price is very reasonable.

Not really a fan of the food/Cafe. To me, JJ does bakery items better than food. The food is mediocre at best (I hate chili oil in my beef noodles definitely not authentic or at least put it aside and let the customer choose if they want chili oil or not) and tastes rough. Something is just lacking. Love the vibe of the place. Its big and divided into three parts. Indoor dining area, bakery and open kitchen where you could see the food being made. Love the open feeling.

This JJ bakery and Cafe is absolutely amazing and serves delicious traditional Taiwanese food! There are many food options to choose from and the bread options are quite varied as well. I ordered the beef noodle soup, spicy cucumber salad, and scallion egg roll, all of which was pretty good and relatively cheap. They also have traditional Taiwanese soymilk, which is hard to come by and definitely worth a try. If you are going to buy one thing from this place, I suggest the bento boxes as they are delicious and well worth your money.

One of the most authentic Taiwanese restaurant in great Los Angeles area. From minced pork rice, rice noodle soup, pork chop rice, beef noodle soup, popcorn chicken, tofu pudding, and etc. On top of that, all prices are reasonable and portions are generous. It is a must go restaurant if you are craving for Taiwanese food.

We were craving dessert after our early dinner of spicy fried chicken. This was in the same plaza so we walked across to it. We got the Cappuccino Mousse Slice, Chocolate-Chocolate Slice, and New York Cheesecake Slice. The Cakes were ok, not too sweet. The chocolate-chocolate cake was underwhelming for a chocoholic like me. Good, but not what I was looking for. The New York cheesecake was more like a Japanese cheesecake. The cappuccino mousse slice was the best choice among three. Service was perfunctory. The cafe side of the store was closed. The bakery side was clean. Parking is shared in this plaza but it was adequate. There s underground parking too. Parking: Underground parking is available too

When a new customer goes there for the first time, there is no reminder of where the customer is queuing up, and no one reminds the customer if he or she queues in the wrong place. There are several people standing around waiting for service on the dining side, and there is only one cashier on the bread side. It doesn t matter if there is no tip!

Review №48

Rating is for Dine-in service only. Food is fine. Leaving a $1 tip because they asked for it, but I really want to leave a penny, because not only the server was showing resentment, the service provided was merely a busboys job and a busboys wouldve done much better in any other American restaurants. No one else left a tip, which IMHO totally deserved. But I left a dollar regardless out of sympathy. Waiting a table is much more than bringing drink and food. Somehow no Chinese restaurants get it. But they sure know how to demand tips! Venting aside. Food is okay. Portions (as of 2023 10) show in the pictures. I like the fried dumpling/donut sticks price, much more reasonable than others. Soy milk is very watery and has a burning smell and taste, aka not recommended. All sauces and seasonings are put aside inside the counter so you have to ask for it. I suppose this is why they demand tips, which is very lame. strongly recommended asking for soy sauce, chili, white pepper, and garlic sauce all at once. The table at the corner was not clean and had food crumbs. She didnt clean up tht dirty table after we pick the next one. She also never asked if we need anything and was showing resentment when I asked for sauces. Cant help but think the reason they kept the sauce behind the counter is to demand tips (besides QC). Thats no service.

On 1/16/23, I went to eat Chinese food with my husband. I ordered Shaobing with beef. It was cold and the quality of the rice balls deteriorated. When I checked out, the printed bill and credit card signature showed two different prices for the suggested tip, which was outrageous. . I also bought a red bean grilled rice cake from the pastry department. It was so unpalatable that I had to throw it away. The conclusion is that the service was poor and the meal was not as good as usual, disappointing.

One of my favorite lical bakery/restaurant that offer a great variety of freshly baked bread and an assortment of artisan cake. The price is fair and the quality is topnotch. The attached restaurant serves unique Taiwanese breakfast and lunch. The best deals are the combination plates that include main entrée with a choice of side dish and soup. The bakery also had different types of bento for easy grab-n-go. The staff are friendly and attentive. Currently the restaurant side is only open for breakfast and early dinner.

We bought chicken leg noodle and Pork chop rice plate at this place this 9/2/2022 noon. We found the taste was so unpleasant from the following ingredients: 1. pork chop carried raw meat smell; white cauliflower and broccoli were uncooked; 2. Chicken noodle soup veg were replaced with bean sprout and cabbage (were leak and pickled mustard before pandemic time); This was our second time to revisit the job bakery cafe food. We decided no more going back to eat the cafe meals there because of poor taste and quality food comparison to 2-years pandemic period. We believed the chef was changed comparing with two years ago.

I appreciate the aesthetic appeal of the cakes made/sold by JJ Bakery and that great care is taken by those who assemble them. However, the cake is very dry and the frosting seems to be oil based instead of made using real cream, which is a major problem for me. I know some people are lactose intolerant, which should be accommodated of course, however, those who are not would enjoy the cakes much more if real cream is used.
