First time I was here on a Saturday, all went excellent. Today however, we ordered the same sandwich but it was rushed and poorly executed. The breading on my chicken was burnt but somehow the chicken seemed not cooked well! The fries appeared to have been refried. Why? I dont need my food rushed, for that I would go to a fastfood restaurant!! I will update this review if I ever come back and experience quality.

Left a poor review was accusing by the business owner that it s due to being rejected. Great customer service and care. I hadn t eaten here since a few months ago in June for lunch. At that time the food was decent, came back Oct 6, 24 for dinner and the food was terrible. Left a low review and received this charming message the following day. Will certainly never entertain eating here again.

Great Food, Perfect for Groups, and Fantastic Outdoor Seating Union on Yale was an amazing spot for a group outing! We tried a variety of dishes, including the Forest Floor pizza, Pesto with Chicken, Crack Mac and Cheese, and the Mason Jar Pizza, a fun build-your-own pizza dish. Everything was delicious and really hit the spot. We brought a large group of college students, and everyone left happy and full. The service was fantastic, and the outdoor seating created the perfect laid-back vibe for a great evening. Highly recommend this place for both small and large groups we ll definitely be coming back! On top of the great food, the staff really made the experience special. They were super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of, even with our larger group. I also have to mention the Arnold Palmer it was perfectly balanced and incredibly refreshing. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, Union on Yale is an absolute gem! The Brussel Sprouts were outstanding!!! Parking: Lots of street parking - turns over fast

We dined at Union on Yale for the first time (during weekend brunch) and loved it. The atmosphere (outside) was lovely, and the service and food were great. Made a reservations 5 hours before arriving, was told patio was first come first serve which was not true. Hostess staff proceeded to argue with me about outside seating when there was clearly table after table available!!! Waitress was the best and so was the food. Whoever is taking phone reservations and hostessing needs to understand that we customers are trying to gather with family and eat, drink great food. Please make this a more welcoming experience. Kid-friendliness: We wanted to be outside for the kids, so frustrating to work with the hostess staff on this!!!

Great for date night, family dinners, friend catch-ups. I do recommend making a reservation, especially on holidays. Service and ambiance are always wonderful. Great friendly neighborhood vibe sitting on the patio. You may have to walk a bit for parking but the town is cute and walkable so that is a given.

This restaurant hit the spot. We ordered the hot chick sandwich and the rose lemonade and rosé. The chicken was by far the crispiest and not over-breaded fried chicken I ve ever had. It had the perfect amount of mayonnaise based sauce and pickles and had a great kick to it which was balanced by a pleasantly surprising sweet flavor. Fries were thick and pretty but tasted meh. The dishes that people were ordering around us also looked extremely appetizing like the salads and pizza. I m eager to come back and try their other options. We initially came for their French onion soup which we were not able to order given that, unfortunately, they do not serve their lunch menu on the weekends. Keep that in mind when you go! The atmosphere was bomb with a pretty and modern exterior and cozy interior. Bathrooms were lowkey weird though compared to the rest of the restaurant. Their service was mediocre and unaccommodating (I needed to charge a medical device and they would not let me). It also felt like our waiters and hostesses were avoiding us as soon as they noticed we had a piece of mind about food.

Service was horrible. Took me 3 times to get more oj for my mimosa and when I do I get a shot glass that cost $4. I had asked for more OJ than champagne to begin with. The soda I was served because the mimosa was bad was served with no ice or carbonation. The chicken sandwich made me sick similar to another gentlemans experience. This place was horrible and the service match the food/drink experience.

The atmosphere here really steals the show. One feels like a mid-century dining experience cannot be replicated easily. However, this place has authentic decorations and pushes it to the top. The value is debatable however the menu reflects the quality of the Ambiance and the excellent service. Since I only came here for a brunch snack and got an appetizer I can say that the appetizer was great and the Singapore Sling was well done. My date was extremely pleased and would definitely consider coming back here for full dinner service. Parking: Parking is typical of downtown Claremont, get here early. Kid-friendliness: Do not bring your kids here it will spoil the ambiance. The pizza here is good and well be wasted on Tiny adults.

We shared the French Toast , my friend and I invited the French Toast to come to a party in our mouths! It showed up and it shot its wad of creamy sweetness! I had the SoCal papas with steak, it was incredible! It was made with a tasty homemade chile verde sauce, that did the tango on my taste buds! My dining buddy enjoyed her Popeye Benny. I assume it was delicious. (I didnt try any, so I cant confirm ) She appeared to have loved her meal! I will be back!

I went on Sunday 1/28/2024 with my girlfriend. She order steak (medium rare) and eggs (over medium). Eggs were runny for some reason not over medium eggs. Second I order chicken sandwich I ate half of it and noticed the texture. When I opened the sandwhich it was pink and lines of pink in the sandwhich. I wish I would have taken a photo of it. The host name was Sky first mentioned is well sir we cook it this way. I am sorry I didn t for how to cook chicken it raw for my pallets I immediately felt bloated and sick. After that I went to the bathroom began to gag and vomit. I do have the picture of that. But don t want to be to explicit. I was not feeling good the rest of that day. I felt bloated the whole day and continued to eat saltine crackers and take medication for the carelessness. Loved the atmosphere and I got to the location often but I ll never step there again. They did charge my girlfriend for the meal I expect it but way too over hyped and cooking at least that night was not cooked right.

Despite the pizzas declining in quality for me, the rest of their food has been top knotch; brunch, lunch and especially dinner. Not a great beer selection but has a full bar and I cannot state this strongly enough: try the old fashioned. Its literally the best one Ive ever had. Update Dec-2023: still a wonderful place with delicious food. I definitely want to recommend trying the fried chicken here as it become my favorite dish by far. Its a bit pricey but you can easily share it with 2 possibly 3 people. Crispy light batter with perfectly cooked and juicy chicken..... amazing stuff. Vegetarian options: They have a variety of vegetarian and even vegan options although it isnt a ton. Parking: Parking is on the street or in the back alley and all free (for specific periods of time) Kid-friendliness: Outside seating is great for kids and families and they have great pizza options for kids (and Macncheese!)

The 1* in Service applies only to manager in charge on 10/8/23 about 6-7pm I ve been to this restaurant multiple times which is a 30min drive from home and always ordered the Union Pizza with burrata and prosciutto. Today, the pizza was very badly prepared and the prosciutto was more like a crispy thick ham. When I mentioned it to the manager that perhaps there was a mistake on the meat used, he was very condescending and insisted it was prosciutto with a smear. I felt frustrated and treated with contempt, because I definitely love and know prosciutto. Although, I do like the restaurant, the manager has no manners and knowledge on how to handle clientele. We ordered a different pizza, which took forever but was good, however, the manager never came back to inquire if all was ok. He would walk by and not even look at us. 1* to him for lousy service on his part. After he ruined our dinner, I kept thinking about it and figured out that they had baked the pizza with the prosciutto already on it which turned it thick and crispy. In the past it had been placed in top fresh with burrata after baking crust. The manager apparently didn t think or cared what was the problem and simply got mad and threw out the pizza with an attitude and made me feel very badly. I rarely complain about things, but I was disappointed with receiving my favorite pizza totally different but mostly angry with his lousy service.

To begin, I shouldve known not to eat here when I had to wait 15 minutes in the front until I decided to ask the manager if I should seat myself in an empty restaurant. Ordered a chicken sandwhich, pizza, and diet coke. Easy enough, right? Well, the sandwhich came out first with dry old cold fries and a luke warm chicken breast that seemed to be under a heat lamp or something. I told myself, You know what its ok. I wont say anything, give em another chance. That soon changed when the pizza I ordered came 20 minutes later cold to the touch from a Wood Fire Oven in Plain sight in a still EMPTY RESTAURANT. This was all while waiting to see if I could get a refill on my diet coke, which never happened. I flagged the waitress in the still empty restaurant and let her know im not eating this cold pizza and to please run me my check, which I honestly shouldnt have paid. This is the second time in life I have not tipped and wish I didnt pay for garbage they served me. $27 dollars for a trash chicken sandwich and a glass of diet coke. People who have left good reviews must have absolutely no standards in life to give this place 3 or 4 stars.

Our family came here for brunch because it was dog-friendly, but a couple at the table next to us asked to move because the woman didnt want to be near our dogs. Not the restaurants fault at all, but it did make for an uncomfortable atmosphere. Besides that, the outdoor patio area is very nice and well shaded. Personally, the food was just ok - except for the potatoes (Socal Papas), which were very good. We ordered the Frenchman omelette, pancakes, arugula salad, Union Breakfast Pizza, and the Socal Papas. The pizza was recommended as the specialty, but to us it seemed to lack flavor. In our opinion the best dish was the Socal Papas, but it is a large shareable side dish and it would be nice if they offered it as a small side to an entree. Even though we were not that impressed with the food, we would still go back for the atmosphere and location (plenty to do around downtown Claremont) and next time try some other dishes that received good reviews (like the fried chicken and eggs Benedict options). I will update my review when that happens.

Food looked good, but didnt get to try it. Despite their reservation system asking you to identify food allergies for your party, they do not consider it in their food preparation. When the server was notified about allergies, he just gave the standard cross contamination legal disclaimer. When asked if they follow any precautions to avoid cross contamination, he aggressively restated the same disclaimer. When asked if he could confirm with the chef/kitchen, he came back after quite awhile to say that the manager, chef, and souse chef all said the same disclaimer. It is obvious this restaurant does not place any priority on food allergies or in avoiding cross contamination. If you have food allergies, I would not eat here. If you do, you take a great risk, as they will gladly tell you.

The pizza was not browned well at all and the half chicken meal came out at least 20-30 minutes after the rest of the meal. Main take always from our visit: -We didn t get silverware for a good 5 minutes after our appetizer came out and had to flag down the hostess and asked her to kindly bring some -Our drinks did not come out until 25-30 after we had ordered (even a nonalcoholic one) - 2 of the 3 meals came out cold (cold biscuits and gravy? How ) -The server never came back to ask how everything was -After our meals were nearly finished he comes back with the condiments we ask for at the start of the meal (and hiding half of them behind his back out of embarrassment that we no longer could use them) As a former server I could not imagine what the hold up was given there couldn t have been more than 5 tables our server was responsible for, and even less that were still eating. There is no way that I wouldn t comp some items on my tables check if I gave a table this bad of service. I just think the staff is too young, or inexperienced to manage a normal table assignment of 5-8 tables.

Terrible, slow, rude service when I came here for brunch. All of our food was cold when brought to the table. Drinks took at least a half hour to be brought out. We were given an attitude when we asked for silverware. Trying to pay was at least a half-hour ordeal. The prices were exceedingly high when considering the food quality. Location and atmosphere are about the only things that this establishment has going for it. Will not be back.

Love the menu, great for brunch options on menu. Love that they allow dogs on very nice patio and have tent and heaters and are without tent! Menu is great with excellent choices and food options. Favorites, AvoToast with egg and Egg breakfast pizza! Dough is fresh homemade like NY Italian pizza dough! Service was excellent. One of our favorites in Claremont Village.

This place is garbage. You get seated based on your social status, skin color, and economic class. I went here with a group of 6 looking to drop some Benjamins on drinks... We were treated like trash by the staff. Walked out and took our business to the Whisper House. I advise you Google Reviewers to do the same!

We normally love it here but Friday night was a bummer. We had a reservation for 2, and the hostess took us to an outdoor table next to the kitchen and far from any heaters. We asked to sit somewhere else and she somewhat rudely took us inside to a weirdly positioned table. No one came to take our drink order or anything, so we left. Went to Aruffo s instead and had a great night.

Good place to sit and hang out while grabbing a beer, but the food did not seem very good in my opinion. They are good, but they felt too simple and overly priced for what you get. I got the pizza and fries, which seemed very standard. Theres a lot of seating outside with a few tables inside.

Although I havent had the food here I want to comeback for the woodfire pizza. It looks delicious. I give this place a 5 star rating for the great selection of alcohol, service and setting that takes you back to the early 1960s

The food was very good, but a very limited menu for WFPB. I had the tofu curry and it was one of the best Curries I have ever had. My husband had the wedge salad and loved the chunky bacon, but for the price was disappointed in the serving size, because how much cost is involved in giving a real whole wedge. He also felt like there wasnt any dressing on it, just cheese. We ate outdoors and they were kind enough to put on a heater. It did take a while to get our food.

Quite nice! Im pleased to have chosen this place. Everything came together for a lovely evening. The helpful waitress made it easy to order, and a live guitarist made it all the better.
