I went on my lunch break to the UPS store and saw Dr Grubbs. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and helped quickly. It was my first time there so I looked over the menu and chose the teriyaki bowl and man it did not disappoint! Brought the menu back to my office and we will be doing a large pickup order in the near future.

Come eat here! Found this little gem while looking for healthier fast food options, and oh man! What a find! 😁

AMBIANCE: Casual restaurant with tables as well as a very large bar area that you can sit and eat at. Music playing the night I went was house/pop at a respectable volume. I wound up Shazaming many a song. You place your order at the register and find a seat. The staff brings your food to you.

SERVICE: We were helped by Victor, who was extremely friendly and helpful! Made specific food suggestions, which was helpful as a first-timer. After I commented on how much I love sauces, he even threw in a couple of extra sauces so that we could try the different flavors, which was SUPER appreciated! He was very friendly when bringing our food and was just very nice overall.

FOOD: The food was DELICIOUS! Just looking at the pictures I'm posting makes my mouth water 🤤 My friend and I got the plate combos, which include a protein, one side, and a sauce. We each added a second side to each plate for an additional $2.
Plate 1: Chicken satay, baby potatoes, hot penne pasta, peanut sauce.
Plate 2: Blackened salmon, vegetable medley, herb white rice, jalapeño garlic sauce.
Plate 3: Blackened chicken (a la carte)
All the food was a 10/10! Everything tasted as good as it looked. I was surprised at how flavorful all the food was, considering how simply they appeared to season it (pepper and herbs). The chicken satay was moist and perfect with the peanut sauce. The blackened salmon was flavorful and juicy. The blackened chicken was also quite tasty, but if I had to choose between the blackened chicken or salmon, I'd probably stick with the salmon. Although the vegetables and baby potatoes were my two favorites, we liked all of the sides we got. Of the sauces, I really liked the peanut sauce and the jalapeño garlic sauce. We couldn't stop commenting on how simple and tasty everything was, which was exactly what I was looking for.

FINAL TAKEAWAY: 👍👍 Two thumbs way up! I liked the laid-back vibes of this restaurant, and Victor's welcoming demeanor really helped set a nice tone for our dinner. The food was healthy, simple, and delicious, and the cost was reasonable (I think our bill came out to about $45 pre-tip). I will definitely be coming back to Dr. Grubb's any chance I get, and you should definitely give it a try!

Our table just ordered the iron steak with potatoes and salmon and pasta as entrees. They are quite good at seasoning their dishes and also their various sauces are tasty. So they seem to use less oil in their sides and more fresh vegetables. You order at the counter and they bring the plates to your table. They have some outside seating in the back. Parking is free in the back lot and also there is street parking for 2 hours around the block.

Great concept of pasta and salad combos. And the pastas were good quality too. Gotta say the chicken was on the dry side and the vinaigrette bow tie pasta was very sour. But everything thing else was excellently made. The best was actually the grilled cheese with tomato sauce appetizer. They also have outdoor seating, but parking is the main challenge here, you’ll have to walk but it’s a nice walk in a nice areA.

Clean eating made so delicious! So much variety to choose from. The owner gave us such a warm welcome and introduction to the menu. My brother and I were able to build hearty vegan dishes. The blackened tofu is cooked to perfection. Seasoned veggies and rice paur perfectly!

This is the only time we can tell my daughter we’re going to the doctor’s and she’ll be happy. Been coming here for years and it’s always exceptional. The star of the show, in my opinion, is the shrimp, but everything is great. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean. Definitely my favorite kind of doctor’s visit.

Not senior friendly. Only few normal tables and chairs which were all occupied. We can’t use the high chairs due to bad hip, and was freezing cold outside, so couldn’t sit outside.

Today (12/13/24) was our second time to dine in. Their blackened chicken was on the dry side. A lot of rice with little vegetables.
We seem to be coming in at the wrong time when their staff taking orders were unfriendly and grumpy!!! Why?

Choose your own combination of fresh food cooked to perfection. Don't let the name throw you off, this isn't wimpy vegetarian health food only it is hardy portions of tasty goodness. And the chefs who cook and run this place are very friendly! My tip is to order ahead, pick up, and takeaway for a fresh homemade (almost) meal!

We had a gift card from a couple of years ago and ownership changed. Initially the cashier said we couldn’t use it but when we asked to speak to the manager the owner came out and said he would honor it ,and didn’t want us to pay anything, even though we were $5 over! The owner, Hader, and his main vendor came to check on us , and gave us complimentary shot glasses! Not to mention that the food was amazing.Blackened Salmon grilled to perfection ,and blackened Shrimp were out of this world! Highly recommend!👍🏼

I would give it 5 stars but the chicken can be hit or miss depending on cook and time of day. You can either get 190 grams or 125 grams of chicken and it will either be really dry or cooked to perfection.

As someone with celiac disease this place is amazing. The busy food runners are always so kind and really helpful when it comes to big parties of people and wanting extra sauces or boxes. They are always super quick with the food and it's always nice to see the cooks enjoying the music while making this delicious food. I highly recommend the blackened chicken. The portions are huge too so its definitely worth the money.

I chose this place for dinner after my nephew's graduation because of my gluten intolerance. Everything was wonderful. We ordered the chicken skewer appetizer, and I got the blackened shrimp (it was wonderful). The server/cashier was knowledgeable and attentive. I can't speak highly enough of this restaurant!

My daughter took me here for lunch. It is excellent. I ordered the blackened salmon with white rice and vegetables. The salmon was nicely blackened, and it was a nice piece of fish. Nicely portioned. They also have outside seating. However, we sat inside. The parking wasn't good but the meal made everything worthwhile. I recommend this place.

Delicious, healthful, and welcoming! Owner/manager Hader and his friendly staff made sure our college water polo team enjoyed a fantastic post-game lunch, including 20+ parents! Food was high-quality and very fresh, and served in timely manner, even though we dined during the lunch rush. I hope to see more Dr. Grubbs locations across SoCal soon! The BEST.

The staff was very friendly and the food portions generous. I recommend paying the extra $2 fee and "splitting" the side order. One side was equivalent to 2 helpings, so splitting into a 2nd side makes a lot of sense. The extra $2 charge to do that is a bit extreme.
I cannot overlook that 4 out of our party of 6 got sick by the time we got home. The food did taste good though.

One of the guys brought back takeout from Dr. Grubb. We ordered blackened chicken with penne pasta and iron steak with vegetables. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The blackened chicken and Penne pasta was really good. My camarada enjoyed his iron steak. this is the first time I’ve ate from there. It’s healthy food. There’s plenty of parking and street parking and handicap stalls are close to the front entrance.

Not recommended for those with food allergies. The food here is good and reasonably healthy for a restaurant meal. However, I'm allergic to shrimp and I have had more issues with cross-contamination here than with any other restaurant I've been to. Even when I've tried telling them about my allergy and asking if my food can be prepared with separate utensils, I've still ended up with an allergic reaction. Thankfully my allergy isn't severe enough to be life-threatening, but it's still uncomfortable and can ruin the rest of my day, so I had to stop eating here.

I have always loved this place because they offer generous portions and because I enjoy the build-your-own style experience. The sauces that they offer are really good, I definitely recommend the lemon thyme vinaigrette or the pesto with the Atlantic grilled salmon.

Food delicious, always were treated well by the girls taking orders and friendly staff, my rating has a lot to do with an experience while on a date last night, We were greeted by a young woman friendly when suddenly a guy that identified himself as the owner took it as his personal duty to help us… actually more so trying to help my date.

Asked that we have some time to look at the menu to which he insisted l’ll help you! When I said my date doesn’t speak English he completely started with the smiles and the Spanish eyes gleaming at the girl, he just seemed to want to talk to her specifically and it deeply bothered me…

both professionalism wise and as a customer that’s visited several times on my own. It was also suspicious he gave her a free beer but offered none to me, also sneaking glances trying to catch her eye and being in our general vicinity was annoying,

definitely had to pay attention taking away from the moment I wanted to be at peace and focused on her and when he knew I had my peripheral on him he’d quickly turn away. Please don’t bring your dates here. makes my stomach churn just remembering.

The service was not only beyond our expectations but there’s a great atmosphere! We can’t say enough about everything from having our order taken, to the person who brought it out, amazing food, and even as we headed out the door everything was spot on!!! Since ownership has changed within the past year, this place has been my go-to restaurant for healthier but delicious food options! The food is amazing but equally as important, the service is five stars. From the moment you walk in the door to the moment you walk out, you are greeted. I have been coming here for years. Not all the time but it's a good little healthy meal that I never feel guilty for eating there. The lemon thyme vinegarette is my favorite. And the roasted potatoes are the best but they don't taste the same for later, Also parking isn't the best but I always find a spot.

Clean place with very friendly staff. I got the tofu and I do not recommend, it was a bit burned with the seasoning stuck to the outsides with a bland taste. Do not recommend choosing a protein source along with just rice, they serve you like 2 cups of rice, so it’s best to get your protein and split the rice with some veggies. My friend got the salmon and it looked really good in comparison to the tofu.

I am not from the area, I ordered food for my daughter’s water polo team. (35 meals) The staff was so kind and efficient. Easy to order a quality protein, and a side. Delivery was stress-free. Wow, Dr Grubb’s was delicious! The blackened chicken was so moist and tasty. The blackened salmon was the best salmon I’ve had. The sauces were amazing! We love to dinne here ( my family of 3)at least 3 or 4 times a month, food is fresh and tasty , most of the time we get healthy food even in our cheating days. Service is great!!! All the girls are super helpful and friendly that's why we tip generously ...we love it here is very relaxing and enjoy a great food!!!

Absolutely, the best place to eat. Especially, if you are Celiac. I’m on vacation an it’s really hard to eat out. Dr. Grubbs is truly gluten free and absolutely delicious.

Always great food. Always hot when served. Owner is friendly and caring as is his staff. I dine here at least once a week. I have never been disappointed! Go and have fabulous food and service

This place was a lot different then what I am used to. I like how it is quite simple, to order what you want. If you want Salmon and Pasta, they have it. If you want a Salmon Salad you can do that too. Although they have many different items to make different combo’s , it is quite easy to be able to get something for everyone. I am reviewing this place from my experience with take out. Ordering was quite easy the two times I have been here. The people working here seem to know their menu quite well and is able to give recommendations if needed.

Food
Again like I mentioned, everything me and my family ordered was quite good. The only thing is that it could add to be a bit pricey once you get multiple items.
Meters Flat Iron steak with Penne Pasta- The steak was quite tasty and tender, and great with their Garlic Apple Aioli. Would order this again! The tomato Penne pasta was really good as well.
Blackened Salmon with Herb White Rice- This is for anyone that likes the Salmon a bit more cooked to crisp hence the name, but it was quite good with lots of flavor
Fire-Grilled Atlantic Salmon Salad - The grilled salmon was quite nice, and cooked just right
Grilled Cheese Dippers- Wow this is so good, I only wish that there was actually more of the dip or I should say tomato basil soup. I didn’t ask if they sold it by the bowl, but definitely going to ask next time.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take any pictures due to us being so hungry, the pictures would have all been half eaten boxes. Glad this place exists and like I mentioned before, it makes it easier to find something that everyone can enjoy. Looking forward to coming back soon and making sure I take pictures of the food !

I'm visiting from out of town on what happened to be a huge once a year festival in Clarmont. I placed a togo and went to pick up my food....but alas ALL the streets around Bonita (including a chunk of Bonita) were closed. I called the restaraunt unsure how to get my food. The manager (possible the owner?) Said, not worries - I'll walk to you. The kindness shown to me from this made a lasting impression, and you can bet when I'm back I will frequent this lovely restaurant. Ps - the food was great - but the people were even better.

One of my favorite place for a good lunch. Great flat iron steak combined with their baby potatoes and garlic apple aioli sauce. Been going here for the past 5 years. Planning to go often for the next few years.

I have been at this establishment, several times. I would come here, after work, before heading home. The meals, that I would order, were usually delicious. Furthermore, there is ample of space, to sit down, and enjoy the meal. The staff was helpful and attentive. The place, during my visits, was clean. The prices, even though it is still inflation, were quite fair. So definitely, if anyone is in downtown area of Claremont, I would recommend a visit to this restaurant!

A step up for lunch slightly overpriced for what you get but really good options you can't go wrong with here. The tomatoe Pesto is an incredible sauce with the roasted potatoes and steak.

I have been here several times. I would come here, after work, to enjoy one or two beers, or healthy meals. The meals, that I would order, were usually delicious. At the same time, they were cooked on time. Furthermore, the staff in this establishment were helpful and attentive. The prices, too, despite this inflation, were on the fair side. So definitely, if anyone enjoys healthy food options, or want to grab a beer, I would recommend a visit to this restaurant!
