Lasagna was great and feeds up to 2 people for a small size. I love the fried calamari and they give large portions because they cater to family size. Minus one star only because It is fairly expensive here.

The first time here and service was on point, my family brought us here to celebrate two birthdays, and it was totally worth it. Food was memorable, delicious, and satisfying. Food was like family.

Visited as a group of 2 so shared one dish which we had plenty to take home. Service was great and we didn't have to wait long at all for the food which was delicious. So many nooks and crannies to seat groups for more privacy but we were sat next to a group of loud people who did not use the best language, so any of the many other open tables would have been better.

Made a reservation on open table; arrived 5 minutes early and my party was immediately sat. I was uncomfortable with the our original booth, waitress was kind enough to seat my party elsewhere, and we were much more comfortable. Their Shirley Temple mock tails were made with grenadine, and not some random cherry concentrated syrup. There was an issue with one of our dishes; brought up the concern to the waitress, who then had the manager speak with me. The manager was able to remedy the situation. Rectified food was delicious, we left satiated. I will return. I recommend the chicken parmigiana and the stuffed shells.

This place is delicious. It's a little pricey but the amount of food they give you makes it worth it. 1 plate is shareable with 3 people so the math adds up. The lasagna is the best ive ever had and my 2 year old son would agree 👍Go head and try this place if you have been thinking about it because you will not regret it. Just make sure you come with some money to spend because everything is so good your not just going to want one plate lol. Thanks again to the whole staff for making our visit welcoming and pleasant. Wanting to make the evening special for my better half, I opted for the unique option of reserving the kitchen's table, via a call. This special seat inside the kitchen offered us an up-close view of the chefs at work, adding an exclusive touch to our evening.

The culinary journey started with an appetizer of calamari, which was nothing short of extraordinary. Each bite was a dive into taste bud heaven, setting a high standard for the meal to follow. The main course, lasagna, was simply out of this world. It was evident that great care had been taken in its preparation, with flavors that transported us straight to Italy.

The kitchen table not only provided a unique dining experience but also served as the perfect backdrop for memorable photos, adding to the many highlights of our evening. The overall ambiance and service were superb, giving us that VIP feeling with attentive waitstaff and a prime location for those Instagram-worthy moments.

While the Chicken Parmigiana was average, it didn't detract from the overall excellence of the meal. In hindsight, booking through OpenTable for one of the cozy interior tables might offer a quieter atmosphere, as the hustle and bustle of the kitchen, along with the staff's constant motion, were quite prominent. However, this did little to diminish the night's enjoyment.

We had the pleasure of being served by Sunday, and she was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we sat down, her positive vibe and enthusiasm were infectious. Not only is she incredibly friendly, but she also had us laughing throughout the meal.

As first-timers, we weren’t sure what to order, but Sunday was super helpful in recommending delicious options. Everything we tried was a solid 10/10—flavorful and generously portioned.

Our dining experience was excellent, and it’s largely thanks to Sunday and the quality of the food. She turned what was already a great night into a perfect one. We will definitely be coming back, and we have Sunday to thank for that!

Came for a birthday party and we did the family size orders..I didnt take pictures but everything we ordered was delicious from the apple salad,the large cheese pizza,to the pepperoni pizza,spaghetti with marinara,and fettuccine with chicken oh chicken parmesan...I did pregame and hit the bar before (a kids birthday dinner(the venetian long Island,roman tiki,and the sicilian sunset were really good drinks(these drinks are on the sweeter side fyi)and I ordered an appetizer before hand which was a meal size app it was the buca trio which was delicious.I ordered the app thinking it was going to be something light to hold me over before I ate i was wrong this thing was huge.

Have always loved Buca. The manicotti is delicious. I like to ask for a side of pesto sauce and it makes it taste that much better Have to get the apple gorgonzola salad. Its delicious!

Ordered three dishes and one of the dishes, cannioli, the center were cold/still frozen inside. They offered to place back in oven. We said no, never know when returning food. You would think the would have discounted that dishes for us. They did not. I think I will be going back to visiting olive garden. Its a shame they have lowered their standards

Received a gift card earlier in the year and while trying to use it today, was told we couldn t use it because they were no longer accepting gift cards for their restaurant. They said because it was purchased from Costco and the restaurant has new owners, they re not accepting it. What?? Someone has already paid for the card! We even asked a gentleman at counter when we walked in if he could tell us the balance on gift card. He said he could not until they totaled the ticket. Red flag there maybe. Just wanted to give everyone some info if you have a gift card for this place purchased from Costco. We will not return here.

We had my fathers 80th birthday here. The food was awful. The salad was wilted. The Limón chicken looked and tasted liked boiled chicken. The spaghetti had very little sauce. It was a party of 50 so I went through the sales department. I didn t say anything at the time, not wanted to spoil the party. I reached back out the the sales department with my concerns. I was told that they would let the restaurant know. No one from the restaurant has reached out to me and it s been a month. It was not cheap. So I get a response asking me to complete the contact page and someone will contact me. Mind you before I wrote the review I attempted this twice, but I did it again . silence. They have no customer follow up. More annoyed than before

Visited Buca di Beppo for the first time, and unfortunately, it will be my last. We started with the fried mozzarella, which arrived barely room temperature and lacked flavor. For our entrees, we ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and the baked ziti. The spaghetti was undercooked and extremely hard, with clumpy sauce that didn t even stick to the noodles. The meatballs were equally disappointing hard and flavorless. The baked ziti was no better, as it was watery and completely lacking in flavor. Thankfully, we used gift cards for this meal because if we had spent our actual money, I would have felt ripped off. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality. Overall, I wouldn t recommend this place, especially considering how poor both the taste and quality were for the price. The service was the only redeeming part of the evening.

A little pricy for what you get. The breading on the chicken parmigiana had a sweet taste to it. Im not sure if thats normal, but it reminded me of chick fil a. Id expect better quality when Im paying $39 for just 3 pieces of chicken. Paid $16 for a rose sangria, they put a mini bottle of one of the cheapest champagnes and couldnt even bother to remove the seeds from the orange slice. Definitely didnt see the value in paying an extra $5 just because it was rose.

I love Buca di Beppo. I always enjoy the food and atmosphere. However, I believe it needs some redecoration. Restaurant looks worn out a bit. Also pricing way off. I guess, because of the current operational expenses menu prices went up significantly. I guess it is what it is.

Our server was great! When we arrived and sat down, the area we were in was hot n stuffy.. I began to fan myself with the menu. Weve been here many times. This time was a bad experience. First at all ,they took us to a table for 7 people, we were only 4 , after few minutes a guy who serviced our table, came to us and said that there is a big party, and ask us to move to another table for 5 people , we agreed, for sure. After 5 minutes, family came with only 4 members and set on that table. Thats Ridiculous . Service wasnt good as before . We have to ask another Gentleman was serving other tables to get some stuff for us . the reason why we came here , to celebrate our kids birthday, they did sing for us before and it was Amazing. We promised our kid that they will sign for him a birthday song as usual. Disappointed. Will never come back again. Notice: 1. weekend days you will get much welcome than week days . 2. Ask for the pictures price before you do it , it suppose to be in the Menu . 3. The whole experience would be sad if it wasnt so laughable and if you dont have a sense of humor and a big bank roll to waste, then dont go here. Ive been here several times in the past but the last time was at least 10 years ago and we ate family style. Food was alright then, as we dont usually go out for Italian because I always cook. Today....yuck. I ordered Chicken Saltimbocca, no flavor, no buttery, wine sauce and I could only choke down half of one piece. My friend had Chicken Piccata and when the server put it down my friend stared at me and told me to ask the server if she got his order correct. Once again, no flavor and dry. The side order of sausage was ok and thankfully we ordered that because it was the only edible part of the meal. Even the bread was a fail, not crusty and reminded us of something they just defrosted. As for the service, Ah! Waitress couldnt speak up to save her life and my friend couldnt hear her at all. When asked several questions about the food she made up answers and then finally said she didnt know and walked away. She didnt come back for a half hour . We were ready to walk out, but didnt. We did not like the idea of a guy who walked around taking pictures. The guy was very friendly, but didnt like the intrusive sales strategy while eating. On our way out there were 3 girls around the exit area and none of them thanked us or otherwise. Way too expensive for the measley, bad dishes we received and will not be going back. Not to mention the decor is dirty and dated. The outside plastic flowers, HOLY COW!!! YUCK!

We came here to celebrate Mother s Day and my dad s Bday. Food was fantastic! Service was impeccable by Mykie she was such a sweetheart! 10 gold stars for her !! She made our dining experience so fun! The only con was that they were out of stuffed mushrooms, Prosecco bottles for the sparkling sangria and cannoli s. Mykie was able to get some of our desserts comp d for us though to make up for that. Would highly recommend Buca di Beppo in Claremont

Fun to leave the US and find yourself in Italy, with cheerful and ready to serve waiters. We had our Mothers day celebration a day early to fit our out- of-state visiting newlyweds, and one mom. Pictures all over of famous Italians, including a candle lighted nich with votive candles for St. Francis Sinatra. Great place to try something new. We got family style 5 servings of each persons entre and a Caeser salad for 5. A bit disappointed when they ran out of a special Italian beer, but fortunately Sam Adams appeared, in a generous sized tumbler. Were going again soon.

I wish I could say I had a really good experience. It was a bit below average, and the dining area was very hot and humid. It felt gross. The front area was well air-conditioned, but for some reason, the middle section was hot. It was very uncomfortable. The server was less attentive than what we are used to. The food was good. I really wish for my first experience in the area it wouldve been better. We may consider giving it another chance in the future since we live 20 min from here.

I ve been coming here for years, family functions or just with the girls, the food is always awesome. I love the family style dining. Lasagna is absolutely delicious. Calamari is delicious as well and also comes with squid. Bread is made fresh daily A local gem located in Clairemont. Portions are huge and well worth every cent. First of all, our server was Errole. He started out fine being friendly and lively. Then came the service. Instead of putting the big heavy glasses of drink directly on the table, he handed it to each and every one in our party, and there were 8 of us. My 72-year old mom can t possibly easily balance a huge heavy glass handed to her. And there s also a chance we may drop it during hand-off After our food was served, Errole didn t check back with us with anything. We didn t get refills on our drinks. We even waited forever for desserts, and we ended up not getting any because too much time has already passed to even order dessert. Lastly, while I was packing leftovers on to a to-go container, Errole took the bowl from me while I was still scooping up everything from it. I authoritatively said to him, Please put it back on the table. He jokingly said, Oh, you want the everything scooped offthe bowl. Well, it doesn t matter what my reason is; I wasn t done scooping. It felt he wanted us gone from the table sooner, even if he never checked back with us at any time after all our food was delivered. I talked to the manager, I believe his name was Eli (I may be wrong), and he said he was gonna get in touch with me about the situation, and he never did. This is February 26, 2024, Sunday between 5pm and 8pm. Bottom line is it was our mom s 18th Leap Year Birthday Celebration. We never got dessert, her birthday never got acknowledged, and I was disappointed that my mom didn t get the birthday celebration she deserved, which only happens every 4 hours. Food was good, but service was bad, and management didn t do anything about it.

The bread and butter was the best thing. The server her name was Sunday was really pushy. I smiled at her as she walked into her shift and got a rude reaction. Good atmosphere, large restaurant, service was hit and miss. Some tables seemed like they had good service but we waited about 20 minutes after being seated until we just asked a server walking by if we can order, it was not very busy and our waiter didnt show up until 2 other tables were seated in the area so maybe miscommunication. Lasagna was good but the pizza was a disappointing.

Best Italian restaurant I ever experienced other restaurants are bland but everything is so fresh and delicious. Nobody can recreate that pizza! Straight from Italy And a amazing server! Although the lady in the front should have better communication she never told us that our table was ready at all! , and the utensils weren t clean it still had residue

We went for Christmas dinner and there was 10 of us. We sat in the pope room. It was a little weird but our service was excellent. I think her name was Stacy. We had her running back and forth to the bar getting us shots. We had alot of left overs but they were so good the next day

I was so disappointed today. I placed an order today at 3 pm and wanted pick up at 4-4:30. The system told us we couldn t pick it up until 6:15 pm at car pick up. We called the number and sat on hold for over 10 mins with no one picking up. My husband finally walked in and requested our to go order. He said a guy was talking on the phone for quite awhile to what seemed like a friend and the pick line was off the hook. Then when my husband asked for our order he was told that it was ready at 3:15. My husband advised them to look at the order that stated pick up at 6:15 and they said the chef must ve messed up. We waited for another order. Left immediately when it was ready and drove 10 minutes home and it was cold. $59 for cold pasta that wasn t ready when ordered is too much. I feel like we got the order made a 3 pm. We won t be returning to this location.

Its not a dinner. Its an experience. Made for families that share their food. A small feeds 3 people!the spaghetti was savory and the green beans were delicious and had a snap.

I had two kids - one got their meal 15-20 min before the other the other kid got their meal 15 min before me. Both the kids meals were barely warm. I finally got wine. The lasagne was hot meatball warm and it came as a side 20 min before the lasagne. The garlic bread was hardly toasted. Double Dutch cake was wonderful. Staff knew we were unhappy no manager stopped by. First time last time.

Things were definitely out of control at this bucca. We had reservations at 6:00 pm for the popes room, we got there at 5:50 pm only to be told our table wasnt ready yet. Waited outside while the rest of our party got there, table of 10, and it was packed inside. We got lied to after checking up on the table 10 mins later and were told our table was being cleaned up. A friend had brought balloons and there were presents as we were celebrating a 50th birthday. We decided to go set them down at our table only to discover another party sitting there midway through their dinner. We complained obviously, but this meant waiting alot longer for the table. Mind you, it was cold outside. We ended up being seated at 7:00pm. Things got worse and worse from there...we waited 20 minutes to even get our drink order in, then another to receive our drinks. We waited even longer to put in our food order. It was ridiculous. There was drama with the staff that we shouldnt have to be out in the middle of and we were made to feel awkward and uncomfortable. The manager never once showed up to our table knowing we had been there forever. All in all we were there for almost 5 hours. We had planned an early dinner because we had other plans later that night. Well, those plans were cancelled because it got too late. Our night was ruined due to this restaurants negligence and it definitely was the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant in my life. O and to make matters worse, they told us to call cooperate to get compensated or reimbursed because they couldnt do it on their end. Which I have reached out to cooperate and am just waiting now. Unbelievable.

First time coming to this place with my family, it was recommended by a friend well we got seated I think they forgot about us we tried flagging down a waiter but no one was around then we saw them seat a party of 4 get seated and there drinks were served immediately while we were still waiting to be asked what we wanted to drink :/ the place did look cute in the inside but terrible customer service we left after 40 mins of not being attended willing to come back maybe another day to try the food just hope for better customer service

Food was nothing special for the price. Staff had attitudes, like they hate their job, which maybe they do . Place is kinda dirty in my opinion, husband had floaters in his beer that must of came from a dirty cup or their beer tap, food tasted odd too. The manager did fix the problem which was nice and i do appreciate it.

It took over an hour to be served....I get that its a Sunday; Ive been here a couple of times and every time its very lackluster, theres a lot more to be desired. We shared the chicken parmesan and fettuccine alfredo. Both were served COLD...our whole parties food was actually cold. The chicken parmesan was decent (a little too bland) just not too appetizing cold. The fettuccine alfredo was absolutely disgusting cold. The next time our family is considering Italian we might as well go to Olive Garden. We must be going on the wrong day looking at all the good previous reviews. Hopefully management takes a look at this review. I wanted to like this place again. Twenty years ago it was one of our favorite places to go, not anymore.

Twas a Buca di Beppo Christmas. We had a table of 5 and feasted. The food was delicious and served quickly. The spicy shrimp in the trio appetizer had a kick to it. We ordered a few dishes to share, family style. The eggplant parmigiana was delicious. Highly recommend. This is a pretty large restaurant, but it is kind of a maze to navigate. It somewhat gives it charm. Don t forget to look up what Buca di Beppo means. Kid-friendliness: There is a Kids menu with many options. My daughter loves pizza, but did not particularly like this one. However, she loved the baked ziti.

Gave it another try. Its been quite some time since our last visit. We had the ceasar salad, apple gorgonzola salad. Everyone said they were ok, nothing special. Penne alla Vodka hit the spot for some with a slight spiciness. Did not see the creamy sauce like the description indicates. The Fettuccine Alfredo was a miss once again. Lumpy sauce and was not smooth & creamy. Lacking in the spice department. Saw a lot of salt and pepper shakers being used. The same thing happened with the spaghetti with meat sauce, no frills. The chicken parmigiana was not a hit. The filets were pretty thin, and the breaded batter did not get seasoned well. They have decor hanging everywhere. On all the walls and even on the ceiling. The parking lot is on the smaller side. With a few handicap spots by the entrance. With some designated places for curbside pickup.

If you like Italian, this is the place to go. However, bring your appetite! The portions are a bit large. My wife and I ordered one salad and one entrée and struggled to finish everything; a most enjoyable struggle.

The food at buca claremont was below expectation. The value for magarita pizza is terrible. For a size small at $24 is ridiculous. Its not better than panera breads Flatbread pizza at 1/2 of the price, same size. And worse than pieology at 1/2 pirce while customer get lots more toppings. Even tradet joes and costcos pizza taste around the same level if not better at a much lower price. The chicken pesto penne pasta, we sub chicken for mushrooms to make it vegetarian and was charged an extra $1... really confused by that. Are you telling us mushrooms are more expensive than chicken?? The pasta costs $39, at least the chief should prep the dish with some care. The brocollis are in huge chunks and not fully cooked. Only the shrimp pasta was acceptable. Also all of our plates look dated a dirty as well as the table cloth cracked color faded. We didnt even bother for an exchange of our plates because literally all look about the same level of terrible. Buca claremont has a lot work to do. If you are charging the price you charge, at least provide better quality food and dining experience. The servers are friendly and helpful, but we had to ask for the complimentary bread eventhough she brought us the olive oil dipping... a bit confused by that as well.. Also, no need to offer photography service and sell $20 a piece, it feels awkward when almost everyone is capable of taking pictures with his or her phone. Would definitely not visit Buca if we didnt have a gift card or recommend the place to anyone. For the same price, each person can get 2 nice entrees at other restaurants. Terrible value overall.

Great food and customer service. Lovely place. Huge portions, so dont order large unless you have a group. Even then, the small servings are still meant for 2 4 people. Went on Nov. 27, Monday, and were served by Mizaeh (forgive if I misspelled this gentlemans name). Thank you Buca di Beppo for this experience bringing us to Claremont.

Disappointed today. Haven t been here in a while. We saw they were having Thanksgiving Dinner meal as option so we came. We had reservations at 11:00am showed up 15 minutes early and still didn t get seated 11:35. The Thanksgiving meal was cold and not fresh. The only highlight is our server was great and cheerful.
