I cannot express enough how incredible this restaurant is. I eat here weekly because it is not only the best Indian food I have ever had, but also my favorite restaurant in all of LA. The saag paneer is to die for; I never knew vegetables could taste so good. We also love the veggie korma but everything we ve tried is incredible. Staff is so so so incredibly nice! The experience is always wonderful with great service and music. My #1 recommendation anytime anyone asks where to eat in LA. Vegetarian options: Naan, most appetizers, and any curry with paneer, veggie or tofu.

The biryani here is my favorite by far. I always get the chicken and veggie one and combine it. The raita and garlic naan are the perfect combination. I enjoy their veggie samosa because of the flavor and spices. I can handle spice so i go with medium but if youre not into spice the mild has a tiny kick to it but tje flavor makes it all worth it.

Walked in and was immediately greeted to a table. Our order was taken within 10min. I ordered vegetable samosa, chicken Tikka Masada and saag paneer entrees, and two garlic naans. Water and the lentil bread was brought out shortly after. The attendant who accomplished all this left, assuming his shift was then ended. Another waiter with a friendly demeanor remained. I saw him catering to another table nicely, and even refilled our waters. After he provided another tables full order before us (we ordered our food well before the other table) I asked the status of our food. That friendly waiter stated I dont have any other orders in the system

This place shines where it counts and thats in the food! This is hands down the best Indian food I have had in Culver City. This food is fantastic and comes out quickly. I highly recommend it if you want good food. The service was ok, our waitress was super quiet and standoffish. The place is clean but rundown and unassuming. This place could be something if they decorated better and had more dynamic hospitality. The ambiance needs to match the high quality of the food. I think this will be my go-to order spot rather than sit down. Truly fantastic food overall.

My nose led me to this place. New to LA and was exploring Culver City for the first time. I got a whiff of something mouthwatering. Following the rich aromas, I came across a rainbow - stopped to admire it and as fate would have it, one end of the ended at this little strip mall (seriously!). There are several restaurants here, so I sniffed around to discover the source and landed at Cali Tandoor. Staff couldn t have been more friendly and helpful with guiding me through how much to order and how to eat Punjabi style. Very family friendly establishment - noticed multiple families small and large, as well as solo diners like myself and couples/duos. I ordered my go-to: Chicken Tikka Masala with rice & garlic naan. Every single bite was better than the one before. Perfect amount of spice, flavors absolutely divine. Like the dancing in my seat kind of delicious. The naan was fresh and appropriately seasoned, light & fluffy with a hint of crispy edges. I ve never been one to brag about rice as it s usually an afterthought to be smothered in sauce, but this rice was a perfect compliment to the chicken. I wanted to chug the spicy chutney it was so good! My meal would have been plenty for 2 to share. I took home leftovers and it was just as delicious reheated the next day. I am still thinking about this meal days later and will definitely be returning soon to try everything else. It is obvious that a great deal of care goes into preparing the food and providing sincere hospitality to their guests. Just a note: this establishment does not serve alcohol, offering a small selection of sodas, teas and mango lassi. There is a small parking lot shared with the other restaurants in the strip.

I ve never been to a place where curry doesn t come with rice. They should make that more clear on their menu. It just hides the true cost of the meal ($4 extra), which I feel is shady (though, perhaps it was unintentional). Regardless, I won t be coming back because of it, food was good though.

Came across this place visiting a restaurant next door so had to go back and try it - so yesterday I took my family here for dinner and it didn t disappoint. The atmosphere is super chill with dim lights and little tea candles on each table. The booth seats are super comfortable. The server immediately seated us brought us all water and these delicious papadums (crispy thin cracker/wafer) which I ve never had along with chutneys (tamarind and mint) and this was a great starter for the table. We ordered an array of dishes- chicken vindaloo, aloo gobhi, dal mahkni, & chana masala which were all delicious extremely flavorful. The samosas and paneer fingers were also very tasty. Highly recommend- vegan friendly (as both my family members are vegan). Delightful staff and super reasonable prices for the quality. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian & Vegan options Parking: They have a parking lot that s shared with 3 restaurants and nail salon- so it s always packed each time I ve come to this plaza I know to just avoid the lot and look for street parking. Street parking can be hard during the day but at night there s a lot of parking

The FOOD, oh the food! Had a turnaround trip to the LA area for a client. Afterwards, I needed to grab lunch (and blow quite a few hours before my flight home). Since our move to Alpharetta, Ive missed really good Indian food. So I did a quick search and found Cali Tandoor. I arrived close to an hour before their dinner switch-over closing. As such, I had the place to myself (though a number of to-go orders were picked up). Chatted with the manager (?) a little and ordered a favorite: Chicken Tikka Masala, Basmati Rice, Naan, Samosa and a Mango Lassi. They serve light, crispy papadum with chutneys (a lightly spicy mint one and a sweet + tangy tamarind one) while you wait. Literally everything was amazing! I knew Id ordered too much, but it was fine as I figured Id save it for dinner. Tikka Masala sauce was soo rich and delicious, with big chunks of chicken. Basmati was fragrant and perfectly fluffy. The Lassi was cold, creamy and satisfying. The naan was dreamy! Puffy, golden, and with a light sheen of butter. I wanted to cry happiness tears! I also wanted to order my OTHER favorites (saag paneer, lamb vindaloo, biryani)! Sadly, I only have one stomach AND I dont think I can take all that on my plane! They were also so kind while I was there! Checked in on me, gave recommendations on where to walk around, and even told me to return just to hang out while I waited for my flight. Good people! My home neighborhood (Alpharetta/Johns Creek/Duluth) is awesome, super diverse and definitely has Indian restaurants. But I have yet to find the one. Until then, Ill just dream about Cali Tandoor...and remind my client that I am HAPPY to fly back out when needed!

I wish I could give this place a 6 star review. We came in when the place just opened and dined outdoors. My wife had never had mango lassi, and she loved it (had my own and agreed)! I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo and asked for it to be spicy. It was the perfect amount of spice, and could have honestly been 2-3 meals if you threw in some rice. Garlic naan was fantastic as well! The quality to price ratio is insane, as we paid less than $33 for two people to eat that included more than just entrees. Tipped the dude $20 just because we felt we were undercharged for probably the best meal we had on our trip.

Soo we ordered the butter chicken, saag paneer, raita, samosas & the basmati rice. The chicken had bones & cartilage in it. Wish I had taken a picture of it as proof. That was a first for me to have bones in butter chicken, Ive been a connoisseur of indian food for years just as a disclaimer(which is why i put 3 stars over 2 stars as i tend to have high standards, being a foodie). The flavors of everything was pretty bland, seemed like it was made for white people tongues that dont experience much (think like baby food levels). Basmati Rice, meh. Garlic Naan, meh. Dry but also not much flavor. Burned in quite a few parts too(more than normal naan in Indian cuisine). Saag Paneer & the samosas were the best things. But the saag was overcooked and again missing seasonings. Only thing i would potentially go back for would be the samosas and they were like 4/5 good. Overall meh.

Stopped here for lunch with my family after a tiring flight. Absolutely loved the food. Ordered onion kulcha, roti and garlic naan along with malai koftha. Each item was more delicious than the other. With the right level of spice, I felt like I was transported back to India. Will definitely stop here again when in LA.

5 stars all the way! So impressed with the the owners, their welcoming and friendly staff. My son and I had lunch a few days ago and then came back for dinner tonight. The owner came to our table and said we are glad you are here. Something you simply dont get to hear these days! There was a large party of about 15 guests sitting next to our table, any other restaurant would have given all the attention to a large party....here every other guest got full attention and amazing service including us. Food came out super fast and was delicious! Ambiance is warm and welcoming, a must visit if you are in town and craving authentic Desi food.

The food here was absolutely incredible, and the staff were extremely polite. I ordered their Cali Tandoor combo which consists of small portions of several dishes, and I believe their busyness, the time we came in, and the extra effort to prepare that dish led to a long wait time, however our server continually checked in on us and apologized profusely for the wait, despite it clearly being the product of my own choice of dish. Extremely polite and attentive staff! The food itself was incredible, everything we tried blew us away. In the end, we had to box up a good portion of our meal, and when we had the leftovers the next day they were still fantastic! Would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting the area.

I got saag paneer , garlic naan and veg pakora through door dash . The saag paneer was good with mild spice( that s the hot spice) I guess. The garlic bread was soft and tasted good . The horror part was the veg pakora , too salty , I couldn t even eat one. I had to throw entire pakora after tasting one . I wonder if the batter they use for all appetizers are like this . Overall below avg and didn t meet expectations or ratings given here.

Went on a Thursday noon. Great Service. The Vegetable Pakoras were amazing. Tip: Adding squeezed lime brings out the flavor. The Garlic Naan + Rice + Butter Chicken (thick and creamy) was comfort food. Definitely recommend for Indian food in Culver City!

We discovered this gem last month. After ordering multiple smaller meals we decided to have them prepare dinner for my father s 75th birthday. They made us an incredible feast and people were blown away at the quality of the food. Now we are addicted to this exceptional restaurant. I hope people give them a chance and enjoy the amazing food they will prepare for you.

Dal tadka and vegetable pakora were too salty to eat. It was disappointing to get two dishes I couldnt eat. Vegetable samosa was delicious. Service was good. Lamb vindaloo was hardly spicy at all even though I asked for medium spicy on everything. I have had better lamb vindaloo elsewhere.
