Nice little Ethiopian restaurant. Recorded jazz plays most of the time. They have live music Wednesday night through Saturday night. I had a vegetarian plate with red and yellow lentils, collard greens, a mixture of potatoes and cabbage, and a small salad. All were on a bed of injera, Ethiopian bread. There was plenty of food on the plate, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife had a shrimp salad. This wasnt the typical shrimp salad. It was a good sized garden salad surrounded by a circle of grilled shrimp. Lots of salad and lots of shrimp. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Theres no parking lot so youll need to use the metered street parking. I recommend the Industry Cafe & Jazz in the Arts District of Culver City.

Food mainly Ethiopian but we had salad and spaghetti. Nice margaritas. No AC. No atmosphere and on the dark side. Service was consistent with the owner pitching in but they forgot part of our order and it was lackluster. Parking on the street. Prepare to walk. The band was just ok and acoustics were awful. Overall Id say if you like funky youll be happy here.

Absolutely delightful spot. Food is great. Well seasoned, generous portions, delicious. The staff was super helpful and very friendly and welcoming. The music was great too. Jazz standards by a quartet. Immaculate vibes (literally, the vibraphone player did great). Cant beat eating great food with great tunes and great folks.

We had visitors who were experiencing Eritrean/ Ethiopian food for the first time. Chef/host was warm, but food was cold. Those of us who love this cuisine were underwhelmed, but we got there at the tail end, so may give another try next time we re in the neighborhood.

Easy to walk in for a drink or a full night. No cover required. They have live music every night even though their site is out of date and they have jazz jams on Wednesday too.

We had the best time this weekend! Enjoyed incredible food, ambiance/energy, service, and THE MUSIC! The team was also willing to field necessary questions around auto-immune dietary needs, and provided alternatives. Thank you Industry Jazz for making my dads birthday extra special, and for being so generous with your time and energy. Cant wait to come back!! Vegetarian options: A good portion of Ethiopian cuisine is vegetable/plant based. All of the sides are vegan, so its easy to build a plate even if the starters or entrees arent a match. They also offer a vegetarian platter, which is also vegan. Dietary restrictions: Had options for plant based, gluten-intolerant diners. Parking: We had an easy time finding parking in the surrounding residential neighborhood. Kid-friendliness: My 15yo niece was with us and it was her first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and seeing live music. Our waitress was really helpful in working with her to select something to try, and my niece LOVED the music. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor, double door entry allows for wheelchair entry, and wide aisles/spacious dining room.

Im not usually a fan of Ethiopian food, but this place is great! Their platters are extremely diverse with options and well flavored. Their atmosphere is relaxed and laid back and often times have live music. Their service was also great so no complaints there. Parking can be a bit hard in this area, so I recommend parking on the side streets a block or two down. Giving it minus one star because the live music was so loud that I thought my eardrums were going to burst. It was impossible to communicate inside, but thankfully, they were able to move my party to outdoor.

Intrigued, I followed the allure and found myself immersed in a world of magic and warmth. Welcomed with genuine hospitality by Aaron and the attentive staff, I was transported to a place far from Los Angeles. The exceptional live jazz performance was accompnied by exquisite Ethiopian culinary delights and good beer, this hidden gem left an indelible impression, beckoning me to return for more soul-stirring music and unforgettable dining experiences. Youre the Culver City fire chief. You get a call -- every restaurant in the city has suddenly burst into flames. You only have one truck. Which restaurant do you save? This one. I come here pretty frequently, and every time I do I wonder why I dont come more often. The concept - an Ethiopian restaurant with live jazz, would be enough for me to love the place, but the food is excellent too. Ill occasionally get it as take out. Industry is family owned and operated and you can feel the care that has gone into it. Come a few times and youll see some familiar faces. The owner, Aron, seems to know and remember everybody. For food - I tend to stick to the same order, but everything Ive tried is great. My go-to is the vegetarian platter. My wifes regular order is chicken tibs. Both are excellent. They sometimes have an Eritrean lager, Asmara, that I always get if its in stock. I dont drink beer very often but, like everything at Industry, it seems to hit the spot just right. For dessert, the carrot cake and candied yams are fantastic.

I love IC&J. As noted by other reviewers the owner is great. It is my go-to spot for Ethiopian cuisine. I say cuisine because I dropped in for lunch one day and a visiting celebrity chef cooked my lunch (a thrill because he lived up to his billing). They have a very good variety of music, not just jazz. I heard some great reggae (and the place gets full for some bands, with a nice, west-side friendly vibe). I did find their hours a bit irregular, my only dig. They bake superb injari for many of the pricier Ethiopian spots... get it fresh here! #MouthWatering food.

Overall: Everyone should visit Industry Cafe & Jazz. The restaurant has a uniquely local vibe where one can unwind and listen to live jazz music. There are not too many places like this and this is a must when your around Culver City. The Food: The food was phenomenal. The spices, aroma, and warm nostalgic feeling of home cooking make this place a hidden gem. From all the dishes, my ultimate favorite was the Doro Wat. This chicken drumsticks felt like an elevated version of holiday food. The only down side it only one drumstick, but you can order another drumstick for 5 dollars. I could eat a whole chicken with that stewy aromatic sauce. You wont regret ordering this dish. The lentils were also delicious. They were creamy, warm, had a little kick to them. The Vibe: I also enjoy when I get to meet and chat with the owner of the restaurant. At Industry, the owner and cook greeted us and gave us a little history of his restaurant and the talented musicians. The service was exceptional and I could tell everyone loved and appreciated jazz.

ERITREA ETHIOPIA Eat the World Los Angeles review: If this happened to be a walkable city, there could be a romantic start to this article about how the smells of injera bread and savory Eritrean stews combined with notes of live jazz to pull in customers from the street. After finishing a delicious meal here, with the band already well into their first set, it was only during a trip to the curb to make a call that this was the actual magic of Industry CafΓ© & Jazz, even if it was only a pipe dream to imagine. Jazz does indeed waft out onto Washington Boulevard nightly starting at 20:00, but passing cars certainly do not hear it or enjoy those aromas. Inside, a mashup of tables and booths and banquette seating sit underneath a mashup of sometimes music related art and sometimes not. Tchotchkes populate the bar area with undefined purpose, but an Eritrean flag is hung from the back wall very purposefully. Despite being the only customers in the beginning, it was a surprise that such a gorgeous and fresh plate of foods would arrive. Centered around a salad and on top of a layer of freshly baked injera, everything ordered was placed together to be eaten communally. A basket of smaller pieces of rolled up injera arrived at the same time, the intended utensils of any meal. Break off small hunks of this and scoop up everything with your hands. There is something to be said about this way of eating, these colors, these textures, and the communal plate. There is a connection to the food, and to the friends or family around you. The feeling cannot quite be pinned down while eating, but an appreciation for everything can be overwhelming.

It was my first time. The servers were welcoming and attentive. They also gave me a birthday shout out and a slice of cheesecake. Well be back again!
