Cali-Asian restaurant with influences from the Lowcountry of the Southeast US with pre-prohibition cocktails, craft beers and curated wine selection served in a vibrant and visually stunning Avante-garde setting.
We went to their happy hour a couple of times within the past few months. Pork jowls are a favorite of ours. The sauce is vinegar but not overpowering. The pork jowls are sliced thin and cooked perfectly so they are crispy and melt in your mouth. They have frozen slushy drinks with unique flavors. The one that day was being used in the free spiked lemonade day in downtown Culver. It had coconut, ginger, lemon, turmeric, cayenne flavors and the texture of the ice was very smooth. We always like to get the pickle butter with sourdough. The waiter told us the chef makes this every day fresh. It is my husband's favorite menu item. Servers were very friendly and helpful. They were very nice about getting us stamp cards for the lemonade day. The place can get busy, especially during happy hour/dinner time, but we've always been able to get in without reservations on weekday evenings.

I came here for the first time. Great ambiance. Very nice decor. They have inside and outside seating. Heat lamps for outside. We went for happy hour. Good selection of items. I ordered the crispy wings which were very good. I had them put the california reaper chilli sauce on the side because I wasn't sure how spicy it was going to be. I was slightly disappointed with the pork pieces mixed with ponzu sauce dish. The pork slices were on the thinner side almost like large thin pieces of bacon. I think if they were thicker cuts they would be much better and tastier. The slushy rum drink is strong so if you're looking for a quick buzz then this is the drink for you. I also ordered the Jade cucumber drink with kiwi and that one was delicious. Servers were super friendly and attentive. Overall I really liked this place. Next time I'll try the other dishes.

A lovely place for a casual “small plates to share” and cocktails.
Be prepared to spend though since most of their little dishes are around $17-26 and we shared about 4 dishes (we weren’t that hungry if you’re starving maybe go for 5 dishes between 2 people).
The service was great and despite them being almost packed they found seating for us almost immediately. Their cocktails are very well balanced and made with a great selection of spirits. The Brussel sprouts are a must (they were the crunchiest Brussel sprouts I’ve ever had! Not soggy nor burnt).
They have a rotating menu and their crudos are also extremely delicious , we had the halibut crudo paired with peaches and my oh my was it fresh and a wonderful pairing.
Don’t think about it, just stop by, they have a diverse flavor profile suitable for everyone.
the Wedges are huge (order if you’re not potato-phobic)!

Nice ambiance. It was easy enough to order items via the restaurant website while sitting our your table, but that made the service feel impersonal. We tried a bunch of things on the menu and they were somewhat tasty, but the flavors were one note... like they used the same sauce for all the dishes. And that sauce was a bit too ketchup-like for my taste. The textures were OK, but the flavors could have been much more varied & elevated.

We came for happy hour on a Saturday (4-5pm) and it was not too busy. We were disappointed they didnt have the crispy chicken skin. Instead they had a smashed cucumber salad for $10 (did not order). The potato wedges were good with the lemongrass topping. Brussel sprouts were a little too saucy for me, but interestingly reminded me of Hot Cheetos (in a good way). Maybe it was from crispy corn topping. The nam prik wings were good, loved the fish sauce glaze. They are a bit spicy (Id say medium). The spiciness doesnt build, but it does linger. The Miso pork jowl was good, very saucy, but also a very small portion (thin slices of pork). All the saucy dishes made me want a side of rice to soak up all the delicious flavors.

The food is always spectacular, the drink menu has changed a bit and I prefer the past cocktails (personal preference). But if you catch this place on a busy night, do yourself a favor and sit outside as its almost impossible to have a conversation inside the restaurant due to the sound bouncing off the walls and concrete floor. It was hard to hear our server at times. But the papaya salad is my favorite dish, and the Brussels are delicious too.

Holy cow, this spot is INCREDIBLE!! Hidden gem!! I m so glad I finally tried it, adding to my repeat favorites. Food was insanely tasty, literal flavor explosion. Service was awesome, super friendly waitress that was passionate about the food and ensured we enjoyed our time. The menu is small but each dish was stellar. They have a great happy hour until 6 or 630 on weekends (this is so rare, run dont walk!!) with the best appetizers and some drink deals. We loved everything we ordered: the brussel sprouts, chicken wings (spicy but SO flavorful), potato wedges, cold beef, rolled noodles, and katsu chicken. We tried about half of the cocktails - most were good, they were out of the one that I really wanted to try so I ll have to go back. Outdoor patio was lovely, warm enough with a couple overhead heaters and they offer blankets. I m curious to try the indoor dining to see what the vibe was like. We made a reservation which seemed like a good idea with how consistently busy the place was. Great proximity to everything else downtown culver has to offer (eg after dinner Salt n Straw ice cream anyone!?) and easy parking with the Cardiff or Culver lots. This will be my new go-to recommendation to anyone who asks for a dinner spot in the area.

Update. My girlfriend and I have visited this eatery several times and have always had an awesome experience. This last time, much different. All the tables were taken and we had to sit at the bar, no worries we were thinking but then we met the bartender, fake smiles, short and no irie vibes. Ok, I guess. But once we put the order in, it was like we were not there. With 5 bartenders/barbacks in the vicinity I had to raise my voice to get water refills or drink replenishments, constant chatter and gossip, just hanging out. Don t get me wrong, this place is still ; food was exceptional as usual, just don t sit at the bar. I have to downgrade to 4 stars based on my last experience. At the end I wasn t sure why I tipped 20%, I just felt I had to, makes me sad :( ***** original review ***** Piccalilli, I gotta start with what a great vibe. The establishment is on busy Culver Blvd but the minute you sit down you get a sense that you have been teleported to a remote beach somewhere in Asia, Vietnam comes to mind, but maybe it s Thailand? Edgy Asian pop adding to the ambiance along with the warm smiles from staff. My girlfriend and I have been to this establishment twice and always opted to sit in the front patio area, it s so lush and green. Food wise Piccalilli does not disappoint, their dishes are an adventurous fusion of Asian/American and there are a variety of succulent dishes to choose from. On their happy hour menu, their popcorn chicken is to die for the smashed cucumbers also very good. The peanut dipping sauce for the chicken is Damn good! Spicy but we ll balanced. For our appetizers, we went for the shrimp and Brussel sprouts. The shrimp was shell on, but the shells were surprisingly thin and you could chomp them down with the meat. There s some magic in the sprouts, crispy yet tender and doused with awesome sauce. For our main entree we went with the pork tenderloin, cooked to perfection and marinated with a heavenly sauce. Their signature cocktails are also very good and compliment the meal well. The meal set me back about a buck 50, but well worth the price of admission for the experience. I would highly recommend this location for those willing to broaden their palate and experience something new, great for a date night or for entertaining guest in town.

Words can t express how perfect an experience this was. I was highly impressed. I came here solo for my birthday dinner and figured the food would taste good but I didn t realize how good. Everything was literally delicious. I had the French beef cheek, which was sweet, rich, succulent and délectable. I ordered some jasmine rice on the side and this paired well. My potato wedges were unexpectedly crispy with just the right consistency of potato fluff and crunch. The aioli made it even better! The chocolate cake dessert was so decadent. For anyone who loves s mores, the marshmallow was a perfect surprise. My server even topped it with a candle and sang to me. The whole ambience was super relaxing but lively. I ll definitely be back and have been recommending this spot to all my friends. What a pleasant surprise! Thanks again :) UPDATE: Currently eating my leftovers and they taste just as good as they did yesterday! This place is the real deal.

Asian fusion spot with cocktails. Came here with a friend on a Wednesday evening and made a reservation online beforehand. Indoor and outdoor dining available. They couldn t turn up the heat, but they do provide us with a blanket to share. Single occupant restrooms inside. Credit cards accepted. Metered street parking. Dogs are allowed on the patio. They do serve alcohol. We split the chicken katsu and some crispy rice salad. We also got a side of coconut rice, which had more of a porridge-y texture than we were expecting. The chicken katsu was extremely large and probably good for 3-4 people to split. It came with two sauces and two hunks of meat. The crispy rice salad had a very sour taste; I d slid the salad but order the chicken katsu again. Our server was super sweet and the food came out fairly quickly. Overall, it s a cute spot to grab dinner with some friends.

Some of our favorites include the chicken katsu (who knew it could be so good), the green papaya salad (best and most complex Ive ever had), and the wings. I came here for happy hour with some friends the other evening and first off WOW. Talk about some high end food for a low low price. From the moment I walked in the hostess was friendly but informed me the only tables available were outside and of course it was one of 6 days it rains in LA. Luckily most of the tables are covered although one of the chairs was sticking out and the staff did everything they could (within their abilities of leaving room for the door in and out) which I hugely appreciated. We ordered every thing but the chicken skin on the happy hour and not a single thing disappointed. The cucumber salad was freshly and beautiful presented with in a tangy spicy vinegar marinade. The brussel sprouts were caramelized with panko (or some crunchy goodness) on top. The potatoes were so crispy and the sauce that came with it was so damn good but honestly I don t know if I ve ever met a potato I didn t like. The show stopped though has to be the pork jowl and the wings. Both somehow managed to be fresh and spicy and succulent and a lot of other things describing damn this is so good. Drinks were fresh and service was fresher. Glad to have a new happy hour spot.

Went to Piccalilli with friends for some drinks and overall experience was disappointing. Service was poor for 2 reasons : 1) Our waiter was not very helpful or attentive, at least not with us. We all tried to be empathetic because you never know what someone is going through but also, when we wanted help, he seemed to preoccupied. 2) ALL three cocktail drinks were awful. It was not good at all. Mine had the taste of medicine. Two of us had our drinks changed while our guy friend let his just sit on the table. Overall disappointing. Wouldnt recommend. Theres other places to enjoy drinks where you can feel more welcomed.

This is the best Thai/Asian Fusion cuisine Ive had in America and some of the best cocktails in Los Angeles. The papaya salad is perfectly spiced and addictive as hell, the chicken katsu was delicious and the homemade hot sauce was phenomenal. The best part? The potato hash, which seems so simple, had an incredible amount of depth and complexity. IDK how they cook that potatoes but I could eat 5 lbs. of them. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The service was great, the outdoor dining atmosphere was great, everything about this restaurant is great. If I wasnt so terrible at documenting my experience Id have more photos for you but TRUST ME this food and these drinks are everything youre looking for. Try anything with whiskey and gin in it and youre sure to be happy. This is the best hidden gem in Los Angeles, go NOW before people figure out how delicious it is. I promise you wont regret it.

Lovely outdoor spot in CC, great service. Tons of diverse yet complementary flavors are packed in each dish. The Brussels sprouts are pretty impressive, not served as whole pieces but as individual which allows them to make it super crispy. I loved the eggplant dish with the tofu, I ve never been a huge fan of tofu and this was the first time where I had tried tofu that has flavor and texture!

I had high expectations. No restaurant could do a mixture of Thai, indian, Chinese, and Japanese all with equal quality. Each dish had one thing that just didnt quite fit. Drinks were very good and the location and atmosphere were amazing. Service and covid protocol were commendable as well. Hopefully the menu changes frequently.

We stumbled upon this place on Friday night and from the moment we walked up to the host stand to the moment we left we had an absolutely amazing time! Everyone was so kind, warm, and welcoming from the host to our server to the chef! We were going to order just drinks but due to C19 regulations we needed to order food as well and I am so glad we did because otherwise we may have missed out! Our rockstar of a waitress Deana recommended the brussel sprouts and they were the best brussel sprouts I have ever had in my life. Crispy brussels in a spicy gochujang and aromatic ginger vinaigrette topped with crunchy corn nuts, and a nice sized portion made this a fantastic dish. We asked the incredible Deana for another light recommendation and she suggested the ceviche which was a gorgeous dish of white fish in a brilliantly bright green kaffir juice served with edible flowers and a side of tortilla chips. We also got to try Chef Brians wok rice cakes coated in a sweet and spicy sauce loaded up with roasted sesame seeds and fresh bright scallions. Chef Brian is def not afraid to pack as much flavor into every bite as possible making every dish a truly savory and unique moment. it has been so long since a restaurants food has blown me away I honestly thought it would never happen again, this is my new favorite restaurant in the WORLD, which i may have mentioned 10-20 times that night, Chef Brian has truly done an amazing job finding the warmest staff possible. It was my first time there but everyone there treated us as friends and family adding to the incredible experience which was so comforting. Thank you Chef Brain, Deana, and the other two staff members ( I am sorry I dont remember your names but brother in law from Virgina and girl with the orange button down skirt you guys also freaking rocked!). Congratulations guys, you are freaking killing it!

Chefs are insanely good. Five spice pork shank served like Peking duck with scallions, hoisin, Napa cabbage and a sort of puri bread. The ceviche was outstanding...cilantro pureed in. Love their fresh take, and their vibe!

Exceedingly great wait staff, strong drinks, and elevated food. My wife and I will definitely be adding it into our date night rotation. The katsu could feed 4, but it was delicious. I cant wait to dig into the leftovers.

Piccalilli went beyond what I could have expected! The atmosphere was lively and fun. The decor was vibrant, colorful and overall stylishly decorated. The staff was kind and efficient. Most importantly, the food was mouth watering. I had five dishes throughout the meal and each one was perfection. I ll definitely be going back for more and bringing anyone who wants to come, with me.

Delicious! Really cool space, great cocktails, unique flavors. Staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations. The Brussels sprouts were amazing, a little reminiscent of a chili wonton. Excited to return!

Awesome spot with exciting and delicious flavors! The brussel sprouts are a definite must. We also got the toasted sourdough with the namesake piccalilli spread. I had never tried piccalilli before and really enjoyed it! We also used the bread to soak up the extra sauce from the brussel sprouts. The pork shank was the standout entree dish - that crispy skin was fantastic! Note that the eggplant lettuce wraps were amazing, but definitely have quite the kick! I liked the heat though and thought they we awesome. Their signature cocktails were also refreshing and not like your average offering elsewhere. I really liked the Clandestino - it had a light but smokey flavor. It was really well balanced, not too heavy on the smoke. The Lumpini Smash was also excellent, with the Thai Basil really popping as a flavor that I liked. Definitely will be coming back and sending friends!
