Sara is originally from Milano (Italy). We serve authentic Italian Food and everything is homemade like pastas, sauces, desserts...
The atmosphere is very cozy and friendly.
We have been coming here for years and it is one of our local favorites! Everything on the menu is fresh, high quality, and authentic. We have traveled to Italy many times and always wished Italian restaurants here are similar…Sara the wine bar is it! Owner is super friendly and we highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Italian restaurant!

Food was very very good!
The service, however, wasn’t great. I went with 3 friends during their happy hour and sat at a table. We tried to order from the happy hour menu and were told that happy hour is only at the bar(this is not stated anywhere in their marketing or at the location). We offered to move but were told not to worry, that we could get happy hour pricing from the table. I understand that this is special treatment and we appreciated that but didn’t appreciate how we were treated afterwards. We initially ordered just some house wine and appetizers from the happy hour menu. We are all in our mid 20s and look young so I think the waitress expected us not to order any more. After that, despite continually making eye contact and trying to indicate that we were ready for entrees, we were ignored for a very long time. The tables around us were all attended to but we were continually ignored even though we wanted to order more. When we were finally checked on we ordered another round of wine and 5 pastas, then a 3rd round of wine and 5 desserts! I hope the waitress realized that it was unfair of her to profile us for being young. I would have preferred to move to the bar rather than to have been ignored, and considering we offered to move I don’t think it was fair that we were treated unkindly.
4 stars because I saw that there was potential for good service, if the waitress liked you.

I strongly recommend Sara the Wine Bar on Sepulveda in Culver City for anyone who enjoys wine and Italian cuisine.
I fell in love with the gluten free Polenta! Under the hot plates section and only $13, the home-style corn meal is on a bed of homemade bolognese sauce, topped with Parmesan cheese, which can be left off if you’re lactose intolerant.
The service is top notch and they have a good amount of indoor seating, as well as a bar. To make a reservation, call during their business hours - they open at 5pm.
Bottles of wine are 10% off, so our group shared 3 of the chilled red 2020 vintage of Domaine de Fenouillet Ventoux, Rhone, France, which went from $44 to $40. If you’re going with multiple people, I recommend saving and splitting a bottle.

Sara The Wine Bar & Restaurant has been sitting quietly on Sepulveda Blvd for many years going back to when Culver City was a good place to get a smog check but fine dining, no way! I found myself working nearby and went for lunch one day. One of the best salads ever. Four years later and I know the owner and the staff. Now that they're open for dining inside again, my wife and I went for dinner recently and now that Google nudges me to write a review everywhere I go, I had to write about one of my favorite restaurants. The food is special as it tastes homemade with its own special qualities. Their salads are A+++. If you order a pasta with any of their sauces, ask for bread because you'll want to wipe the bowl clean. Best of all is the prices are better than reasonable. The wine selection is very good and again, prices are moderate. Go, eat, drink, and enjoy.

A Culver City gem in the neighborhood that offers a cozy atmosphere with a homely feel. The bar provides its customers with a friendly environment in which they can relax and enjoy a serene ambiance over a glass of wine and some tasty bites.
One thing that stands out about Sara the Wine Bar is the warm and welcoming atmosphere, supported by an incredibly friendly staff. Sara, the owner is a warm and welcoming host who provides a personal touch to every guest that walks through the door. The staff members are knowledgeable about wine and food pairings and their recommendations are spot-on.
The real highlight of Sara the Wine Bar, however, is the incredible food. The dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients and taste like a home-cooked meal. The pasta and pizza are particularly noteworthy, with each plate being a gastronomic delight that is hard to resist. In fact, the hardest part of eating at Sara the Wine Bar is deciding which dish to order and stopping at just one!
In summary, Sara the Wine Bar is an inviting neighborhood spot that offers a warm and friendly ambiance with deliciously homely food. It's a perfect location for a casual dinner, a date night, or just a glass of wine after a long day at work. If you're looking for a laid-back evening experience with exceptional food and drink, be sure to pay a visit to Sara the Wine Bar.

Honestly the man that was serving at the tables, was rude and unfriendly, the feeling that they were putting rush on us was very strong! We asked for recommendations, the server answered: I can not tell you what to eat!!! the bidder was coming and going and neither look at us! The food was very poor and low quality! Wine choices very poor! Bad service, bad experience! It was my birthday, they made it memorable! Thanks

Love their pasta and order delivery often but had a babysitter last weekend so we got to go to the actual space for the first time. Very lively and cozy and friendly - the staff and clientele alike. Weve yet to encounter a dish we havent loved. The papperdelle and bucatini are my favorites, and our family enjoyed the mushroom fettuccine and lamb gnocchi. The shrimp diavola and the meatballs make excellent sides/starters. All of the desserts are fantastic - pannacotta is a huge hit, tiramisu is on point and Nutella bites are a pretty unique snack-size dessert.

The food and wine are amazing, Sara is absolutely wonderful and the ambiance is charming. Authentic Italian food. Highly recommend. I love everything on the menu but my favorites are the Avocado Bruschetta and/or the Crostini Burrata for starters, and either the Bucatini Amatriciana pasta or the Pizza Prosciutto as a main dish. The pancetta and subtle spice in the Bucatini Amatriciana are the highlights of the dish.

Came here for the first time and I was very impressed with the quality of the food, delicious wine and service. It helped that I had amazing company and I would recommend this place to everyone. They have a great happy hour and delicious desserts too. Parking: Parking can be a little scarce for how busy this place gets but if you have to park on the street and walk a little bit, it s well worth it.

Great from start to finish. Sara has to be one of the most gracious owners Ive come across in a really long time. My friend and I popped in last night ~ without reservations ~ at 6:15. The place was hopping! Loved the lighting (dim) and the interior design down to each meticulous detail that have an obvious, personal, warm touch that is Sara herself. We ordered our meals to compliment our dry white wine which was eye popping good. The goat cheese and prosciutto on homemade bread drizzled with balsamic was a light, great start. I ordered the shrimp risotto which was made fresh to order. So worth a few minutes delay, which Sara told me in advance. My friend asked Sara to surprise her and was not disappointed. Overall a truly wonderful experience from this, almost inconspicuous little spot Ive had my eye on for several years. For the price, the ambiance, and above all, quality of the meal, outatanding! I will definitely be back.

Smaller than I expected, less pretentious too. Eminently reasonable prices, diverse variety of food selection, attentive wait staff. I didnt even have any wine, but had a great time. Definitely try it out. Dont try parking in their lot, though. Vegetarian options: Im not, but my date was, and she recommended the place to begin with. And she was cute and sweet, so her judgement is probably sound.

This is not just a place for Vino! Italian food... If you believe you know what its all about I challenge you to come here. From Bruschetta that is amazing (in which 98% of restaurants fail in making correctly) to the 2 dishes my mom & I shared lamb gnocchi, Sausage Cavatelli. One of the key points is when Sara herself made the rounds personally checking to see her patrons enjoying her own homemade recipes. Cozy, ambient atmosphere that is driven by laughter, vino and happy tummys. Definitely a establishment that will be visited again and again.

The culinary offerings at this establishment are truly exceptional, as evident from the delightful bruschetta, lasagna, and flatbread pizza. The wine pairings provided are also of excellent quality, with a commendable selection of red wines available. The service we received was truly outstanding, leaving a lasting impression. All in all, I believe this place stands among the finest wine bars I have ever visited.

It s a lively, well-decorated, and nice wine bar with some tasty Italian fare. It can get pretty busy, so make reservations or come early. The food was good, the wine was great, and the service was pretty good. Felt like for the price and how busy it was, maybe it was overpriced, but that s also lots of LA. Parking is pretty rough, so please get here extra early to find some street parking nearby. I ended up a couple blocks north, up near Venice and the Carl s Jr. after searching and searching.

A friend had been there and loved this place so she invited a group to join her. This was my first time. I arrived early and Sara immediately made me feel welcome. Not just in the welcome to our eatery way. In a personal make yourself comfortable, true way. When it was time to order I had a hard decision. Everything looked and sounded great. Eggplant Parmigiana or Lasagna I went for the Lasagna when I found out that the noodles pasta and everything is made right there. EVERY bite of Sara s Lasagna was bursting with fabulous flavors. So much so that I I savored each bite taking half of my usual on my fork and eating as slowly as possible. It was a good size portion. Only later did I think maybe I could/should order a side potato or spinach. Maybe next time - and there will be a next time! My companions loved their scampi and pasta meals and I enjoyed their aromas. (Ah, well prepared garlic dishes.) I should mention to you that the service was excellent. And fun.

Sara The Wine Bar and Restaurant is a cozy Italian eatery that offers a delightful dining experience. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant and trying their menu items. The pepperoni pizza, primavera pasta, and Riesling wine I had were all excellent. The pizza was loaded with flavorful pepperoni and the pasta was cooked to perfection with fresh vegetables. The Riesling wine was a perfect pairing and added to the overall dining experience. What made my visit truly memorable was the personal touch. The owner runs the entire operation, and it was clear that they take great pride in providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, and it was clear that the staff wanted to ensure a pleasant dining experience for every customer. If youre looking for a cozy Italian restaurant with great food and a personal touch, Sara The Wine Bar and Restaurant is a must-visit. Dont forget the chocolate cake, pana cotta and tiramisu. All were amazing and made me think of Italy! Sara the owner is sweet and knowledgeable. SARA the Wine Bar is a classy and lovely little Italian-themed establishment on Sepulveda in Culver City which also has a few gluten-free options for persons living with that food need. We were staying next door in order to attend a National Conference at the Pauline Media Bookstore. We needed a restauraunt within walking distance and I was glad to find SARA next door to our hotel. In addition to a number of salads, other gluten-free options at SARA the Wine Bar include: Eggplant Parmigiana and, for dessert, Pannacotta (strawberry or caramello). Our server was able to help make safe and tasty gluten-free food choices from the SARA menu. For those who do not need to eat gluten-free, SARA offers a number of luscious pastas and scrumptious desserts on its menu. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Numerous salads, pasta options, and eggplant parnigiana. Dietary restrictions: SARA offees options for gluten-free eating.

An outstanding local place for top notch Italian food that isnt too expensive, hitting far above its weight class. The Mel Formaggio salad was perfectly balanced between the tartness of the dressing, sweetness of the apples, and creamy/earthiness of the blue cheese. The lamb gnocchi was delicious, and the gnocchi in particular were so light and fluffy. My date had the shrimp ravioli, shout out to the sauce there. And lets not forget about the wine, fantastic selection overall but the Pinot Noir and Cab Sav from Paso Robles were balanced, had body, fruitiness, and not too tannic. Friendly wait staff as well. Call for reservations. My only regret is not coming here sooner, cant wait to go back.

I come here all the time. Love the service and the food is very authentic. Now they have Brunch on the weekends! Which is awesome. They have mimosa specials, lattes and avocado toast with poached eggs. Ill definitely be coming back for more!

Great end to the work day!! Alex was sensitive to the fact that I had an appointment at 6pm. He had the check ready as soon as we requested it.

So delicious we went back again! We were only in LA for 2 nights and we had 2 meals in that time at Sara s. Lovely ambient atmosphere - we especially loved the Italian soundtrack to our dinner. Wish we could take this gorgeous place back to Australia.

Liked this place a lot for a quick bite or a winetastic night. Food is reasonably priced, specially the pasta dishes or the pizza. Underwhelming charcuterie and cheese plate. Usually busy on weekends, reservations accepted. Limited parking in the area.

Sara is darling and the food is amazing. Good wine selection and great service. My husband and I go here often for the burrata crostini and the tiger shrimp flatbread. The pasta is fresh and fantastic. Everything tastes like it came from a farm out back. Weve been coming here for years and the quality has stayed great. We would go weekly if we had the time! Thank you Sara- Bianca and Justin

We ordered the meat and cheese plate, the caprese skewers, and the meatballs. I cant decide which one was my favorite! Two glasses of wine each, too! Sooo decadent in the middle of the week. Happy hour food prices help, but we ordered wine at regular prices off the menu. Not necessarily pricey, but not cheap, either. Still, its a lovely place to hang out, chat with a pal, and enjoy tangy food and tasty wine.
